Sugababes latest single, Girls, based on a sample of Ernie K Doe's "Here Come The Girls" has risen from its début position of 8 to 4 on downloads only. The Sugababes brand new single (their 22nd), Girls , has risen from its chart debut of 8 to 4 this week. With it's physical cd available on Monday from record stores and Boots can the lead off single from Catfights & Spotlights make it to the top spot come next sunday?
Girls samples the infectious chorus of Ernie K Doe's "Here Come The Girls", best known for being the music in Boots adverts since last christmas, along with newly written verses from the girls.
The move makes this their 9th top 5 hit, 15th top 10 and 20th top 15. Industry insiders have predicted that girls will be their biggest hit to date topping last years outstanding About You Now. Which spent four weeks at number 1 and has sold over 400,000 copies.
Can it make the leap to the top? Could it even beat About You Now to be the groups biggest hit?
