Sugababes begin work on new album
Wednesday, April 21 2010, 13:17 BST By Robert Copsey Rex Features The Sugababes have started working on their new album, their manager has revealed. The group, which Heidi Range recently insisted are not splitting despite poor sales on their latest album Sweet 7, are reportedly going back in to the studio to start work on their eighth album. The trio's manager Mark Hargreaves has now spoken out, insisting that the group are in high spirits and are working on a new record. Hargreaves told Now: "They're a very happy group today. They can't wait to get back into the studio and bring back that feelgood factor." The magazine also reports that their previous hit single 'Girls' recorded with former Sugababe Keisha Buchanan will be re-recorded with new member Jade Ewan's vocals, and will be used to promote US department store JC Penney. Hargreaves said: "It's brought a massive resurgence of interest in the band over there." Buchanan is reportedly in talks about penning a tell-all book on her time in the band. Source : DigitalSpy |

I am not interested in a new version of Girls. But I like it that they are already working on the next album. I hope they're taking their time and are recording with unknown (but talented) producers and they come back with an OMG smashhit (or 2, like FLM and Round Round).

Oh jesus h christ. What a wonderful way to attempt to convince the already pissed off fans that Jade isn't evil by rerecording an old track that was $h!t in the first place.

Ahhh. Now THIS album will the be the make or break of Sugababes. It'll all be Jade's own stuff with the band and so people will go into it with an open mind (hopefully). But could they just not have to re-record that god awful 'Girls' no matter what? Use the original or something

It's from a prior era, something Jade has no rights to touch in a studio imo as they won't be releasing it anywhere as 4.0. Does that mean Boots will change to the new version aswell?
 I'm hoping this next album they will go back to their original style. They need a great comeback song like About You Now. |

I'm going to assume you mean the 2.0 sound, in which case i agree entirely. Someone get Dallas Austin, Xenomania, Richard X, Linda Perry and Diane Warren on the phone quick! |

They really need to mash the best tracks from Taller, Angels and Three together into one album then create a carbon copy. It'll be unoriginal but f***ing epic. Yeah, but they've been playing the 3.0 version quite happily to date.
Plus a few people know who she is, they have a handful of fans from when they released Hole In The Head. |

Be interetsing to see how they handle this (knowing the Suga mangement...not very well) but I hope to god they dont continue with the sound of Sweet 7, as much as I liked the album. I've said this before but they need to take inspiration from everything that made 2.0 a sucsess - they need a massive lead single and really to stop being so try-hard (ee.g Get Sexy).

Sweet 7 has gotten to the point where i'm over it already. There are only a couple of songs i listen to on it
The Keisha sampler however still gets a lot of plays for Wait For You and TYFTH

I really think this "brand" has been damaged now beyond all repair, I don't see any future releases being any more successful than Sweet 7 no matter what sort of sound they attempt.

I don't see why they are going to re-record 'Girls', surely the advertisement would just have the chorus and I can't hear Keisha that much.
I hope they take a lot of time recording this album. |

The gap between GS and AAG to when S7 came out was too long tbh |

If Jade is in it it is a waste of time and effort, nothing is going to make her a good Sugababe, she just hasn't got it in terms of Sugababes and never will
