Soccer Aid 2024 line-up in full as Bobby Brazier makes debut with Roman Kemp and Robbie Williams
Soccer Aid is back with a huge line-up including celebrities such as Bobby Brazier and football legend Frank Lampard making their debut with the likes of Roman Kemp and Tom Grennan returning Soccer Aid has released their full line-up for the 2024 match which includes several huge names. The charity match which returns later this year, taking place at Stamford Bridge will see a string of A-listers get together in order to raise millions for Unicef. Since kickstarting in 2006, the event has raised an eye-watering £90 million for the charity, helping those in need in countries such as Cambodia Today, 35 names have been announced to take part in the event, with the likes of Robbie Williams, Paddy McGuinness, Erin Doherty and Bobby Brazier taking part for the England team. Meanwhile, Roman Kemp, Usain Bolt, Tommy Fury, Martin Compston and Lee Mack will feature on the World XI team Soccer Aid will air across ITV, STV and ITVX and will be hosted by Unicef UK ambassador, Dermot O'Leary, alongside Alex Scott. Meanwhile, Sam Matterface returns as a commentator and Love Island narrator Iain Stirling will be on Co-comms duty. Bosses have also promised a stellar half-time performer, although details are being kept under wraps. This year, Sam Thompson, Bobby Brazier and Erin Doherty will be making their debuts on the England team, with Sam struggling to contain his excitement. The reality star said: "I live around the corner from Stamford Bridge and have been to so many Chelsea games over the years, watching my heroes – I can't quite believe I’m about to play with some of them. I mean Frank Lampard is a living legend and he's my manager – it's insane!" Speaking about returning, Pochettino said: "The 2023 match was a great experience to be a part of and that is why I was more than happy to accept a return this year, particularly as it will be at Stamford Bridge and with Frank Lampard, a Chelsea legend, in the opposing dugout for England. For the upcoming game, the England team will have a specifically designed Euro '96 kit remake, just five days before the Euros 2024 kicks off. Meanwhile, World XI will wear a specially designed and limited edition Adidas kit. Amidst the cost of living crisis, bosses have found ways to make Soccer Aid 2024 affordable for families, with a ticket for a family of four including two children and two adults costing just £60. Co-creator Robbie Williams said of the 2024 match: "Soccer Aid for UNICEF is one of the biggest sources of joy in my life. It is an amazing event. When we launched this nearly two decades ago, I would never have dreamed it would raise as much money as it has. The main reason the match continues to be such a success is because the great British public continues to be so generous in supporting UNICEF's work helping children around the world have happy, healthy, play-filled childhoods. Once again, I am kindly asking you to buy a ticket to the game on Sunday 9th June at Stamford Bridge – the line-up is as star-studded as ever! Thank you for all of your continued support." Host Dermot O'Leary commented: "We're one big team at Soccer Aid for UNICEF, united by a goal to help protect play for children everywhere, and I'm thrilled to be part of that team once again this year. For millions of children around the world, conflicts and disasters are destroying their safe spaces to play and hunger and disease are leaving them unable to grow up healthy and strong. Buying a ticket for this year's star-studded match will help give children a chance to grow up happy and healthy and, whoever you support, I know it's going to be an absolutely fantastic night at Stamford Bridge." Since commencing in 2006, England have won five times but their last win was in 2018. Soccer Aid World XI have won seven times and last year saw them take the champion title for the fifth year on the run. Money raised from the event will help Unicef protect children from disease and malnutrition as well as supporting their mental health and assisting during times of crisis in wartorn countries. Soccer Aid for UNICEF takes place on Sunday 9th June at Stamford Bridge. It looks a great line up this year and I'm gutted that I can't go.
I'm sure it will be a really good night as always and they will raise millions. |
