News just in: @ArianaGrande will play a tribute concert in Manchester on Sunday 4th June. One Love Manchester. Sunday. 6pm. @BBCOne.
I'm really glad it's getting a high profile TV broadcast! It deserves maximum exposure. I'm glad to see so many high profile names coming together for this at such short notice as well.
Posted by: burbe 3rd June 2017, 01:42 PM
Current confirmed line-up:
Ariana Grande
Miley Cyrus
Pharrell Williams
Usher
Katy Perry
Niall Horan
Justin Bieber
Coldplay
Take That
Black Eyed Peas
Little Mix
Robbie Williams
There's bound to be one or two surprised additions as well! It will be interesting to see what songs they choose as well because they need to get the tone of defiance yet not disrespectful right.
The BBC One programme will be presented by Sara Cox and Ore Oduba.

Can't remember if I posted it elsewhere but this has been predicted to be watched by 1B.
Posted by: Suedehead2 4th June 2017, 12:50 PM
There is little or no chance that anywhere near one billion people will watch it live. Even the total number of people who see more than a short snippet on the news will probably fall some way short of that figure. How many people do you think will watch it in India and China? That's already roughly 2.5 billion people who won't be watching.
Posted by: Klaus 4th June 2017, 01:15 PM
I do think this is being waay over-predicted for viewing figures.

really not important and Where is the Love is one of THE most significant songs for this type of event.
I'm watching, excited although I wish this was happening under better circumstances.

For a concert and a night celebrating music and one love for all, can we not have these sorts of comments? Just for ONE night. Can we just appreciate the fact they're there doing a wonderful thing for a wonderful cause and leave it as that.
Completely defeats the entire purpose of love for all, love for music.

Posted by: Klaus 4th June 2017, 06:18 PM
It would have been nice for Robbie to rejoin Take That for a special performance!
Posted by: Mack 4th June 2017, 06:21 PM
It doesn't matter whom is performing, the fact everyone who is performing for this wonderful cause, I have the utmost respect. What the world needs after what happened in Manchester and last night in London.
Posted by: Brett-Butler 4th June 2017, 06:21 PM
Robbie's vocals sound off.
Posted by: Klaus 4th June 2017, 06:26 PM
It should be able to be a given but, seeing the concert in action, I think this is the greatest act of defiance. Especially after last night's sad events, all those people and the performers are not scared to continue doing what they love as well as respecting and remembering all the victims.
Posted by: Silas 4th June 2017, 06:29 PM
I know she'll have had a lot of help from professional organisers like Live Nation, her manager and record label etc but it's pretty amazing that a 23 year old pulled this off in less than a fortnight. Circumstances made people very willing and motivated to help sure but Ariana has pulled together something pretty special here.
Posted by: cqmerqn 4th June 2017, 06:30 PM
Why do we have a pointless commentary? I'd rather just watch the concert and hear all the joy.
Posted by: Liаm 4th June 2017, 06:31 PM

It reminds me just how old "Don't Look Back In Anger" is that they have to put the lyrics up on the big screen for the benefit of the younger fans that probably don't even know that song.

I wasn't slating her at all. I was probably just expecting more because of the significance of the song. Somewhere Over The Rainbow was stunning though.

I don't think I've ever cried at a performance so much as those two, for her to be able to perform a song with such meaning to any degree after what happened is incredible but she absolutely put it down, especially Over The Rainbow. No OTT theatrics or anything distracting from her gift, just an absolutely beautiful performance of a wonderful tribute to all the lives lost. She really is a true star <3
I think with OLT it hit her more because she sang it at the concert and in the past couple of weeks it's come to be so synonymous with the events it's probably always going to be hard for her to sing.

I can't heep enough praise on Ariana. The way she has acted since that awful night has been nothing short of amazing - from her dignified first response, to sorting this show in such a short time period, to visiting the kids in hospital, to coming out and performing the way she did tonight. What an absolute inspiration.

Posted by: Noahspike 4th June 2017, 10:25 PM
Wow, what an incredibly special night. I think I've been in a daze for the last hour or so. The sheer scale of this event, the huge support funds continuing to be raised, the tributes to the victims, the diverse range of acts supporting the cause, the songs, the loud singalongs, the unique moments of defiant unity amongst the crowd and performers... and all organised and achieved less than a fortnight after what was such a paralysing atrocity targeting innocent young people and aimed at destroying our freedoms.
It all hits especially close to home right now following the horrendous attacks in the capital just last night, which I personally feel very fortunate to have avoided as I was out enjoying myself in a central London bar too at the time. I thankfully didn't witness anything, but there was certainly a palpable fear on the streets as everyone's night out abruptly ended and we suddenly had to wonder how to get home safely. Ariana and everyone who helped make this concert happen should always be commended for it - it's the absolute strongest statement anyone could wish to make in the wake of these attacks. It feels so good for our...'collective soul' to assert and unreservedly celebrate our shared values right now, and on such a global platform. I'm imagining all the families and friends throughout the country watching at home on this Sunday evening after the bleakness of the last couple of weeks, and being comforted and uplifted and inspired. I thought the set-list was so thoughtful too - it had appropriately heartfelt moments honouring the tragic losses of life, catered to both the young crowd and their parents, honoured Manchester's resilience and musical heritage, while also focusing on the carefree escape music provides, and making Ariana and her fans the stars of the show. Just a giant triumph for all involved and something the people of Manchester will always hold dear I'm sure.
Also I can't stop watching https://twitter.com/MySmilerSide/status/871462786848743426.

Ariana makes it so easy to stan for her, doesn't she? Absolute epitome of class, maturity and love tonight.. I am floored by her. Still can't believe that I was actually there, I came home and watched the highlights and it's so surreal.
The crowd was electric, sang along to every song at the top of their voices and braved the crowds in defiance.
I am so proud to be from Manchester <3
completely agree
totally fallen for her tonight
what an absolute class act. beautiful tribute and she brought out so much pride in me. can't wish her more success x

No words, the whole thing was absolute perfection. Cannot fault it in the slightest, making it all the more impressive that it was done in such a short amount of time. Basically watched the whole thing with non-stop tears in my eyes.
Ariana should be incredibly proud of herself. It is the entirely wrong circumstances, but she has created a legacy for herself.
(that policeman in the ring really touched me, so lovely to see it going viral )

So glad you enjoyed tonight Kyle and you've been able to come away from this in the best of spirits after you felt the complete opposite just two weeks ago <3.

Hah! Welcome to Portugal when only football and soaps matter
You can find it on youtube, the whole thing was streamed
I thought the football season was finished in Europe after the Champions League final on Saturday?

Katy Perry had pictures of all the victims on her dress, shaped into a love heart! Lovely touch! I was trying to work out what was on her dress but couldn't quite see.

I thought Usher was due to perform, I didn't see him anywhere on the night.

Apparently this was watched by 11m people here!
With 22.6m watching at LEAST 3 minutes! That's fantastic!
