In the great war between teen dramas The OC and One Tree Hill, I think Tree Hill comes out top. Tree Hill is like an American Hollyoaks where as The OC is just about how spoilt little rich kids cant get the next new Mercedes and blah blah. I recommend Tree Hill to any good teen-drama fan. Its really good and has an incredible cast incl. Sophia Bush (John Tucker Must Die) and Chad Michael Murray (A Cinderella Story). The whole group dynamics works very well and i dont see how the ratings in america can be so low!!!

Though in America they are on Series 5!
I hadn't watched Series 4 on E4 before and i tuned in last night and was like major confused for the first 10 minutes until i realised what was going on!
Can't wait for it to come out on DVD though !!

This is my favourite EVER show, hence my name lol!
But yeah, I don't understand why the ratings are so low!
I'm so glad it got renewed for a 6th season.
I think it's up a bit on ratings from last year, but it's just fantabulous!
Deserves to be US' biggest show.

Ive seen hole 4th season.
But I think that season no.5 is too much. They've finished high school and that's it.
I'll get the season no.5 soon, but i'm not very excited like i was while waiting no. 4

If anyone's not sure about season 5, forget your doubts!
This season is amazing!
I've been keeping up with season 5 and it's just wonderful.
There's lots of ups and downs as usual and Naley's kid has some of the best lines in the show.
It's keeping it's slot on Monday nights on e4.
It starts April 21st.

and also think season 5 is too much though there are still some things that need a closure

Production for this season of One Tree Hill, along with production for all other American scripted television shows, was caught in the middle of a contract dispute between the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), Writers Guild of America, west (WGAw) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The dispute led to a strike by the writers, which has caused a lack in episodes being produced. The season was to conclude in June 2008, after twenty-two episodes, but the season had been shortened to twelve episodes due to the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. With the strike resolved, the CW announced that six more episodes would be produced bringing the episode count to eighteen.
On November 5, 2007, a strike began between the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), Writers Guild of America, west (WGAw) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The strike could force television shows to end their seasons early, because there will be no future scripts until a settlement is reached. Due to the writer's strike only twelve out of the twenty-two episodes ordered were thought to be produced. With the end in sight Mark Schwahn stated, "Although we have six new episodes left, no one is more excited about the end of the strike than we are at One Tree Hill." As of the February 5 episode, One Tree Hill's ratings are second only to Smallville for scripted dramas at the CW. Schwahn went on to say that "we'd love the opportunity to continue season five, and if the WGA's new contract is ratified, hopefully we'll be able to do just that. If not, we'll see you for season six." On February 15, the CW announced that six additional episodes would be produced to wrap up the season due to the conclusion of the strike.
I only have Kate Voegele's album and I can say I love it!
She's great in her role!

I am waiting for season 6 as well..season 5 was good but everything happened just too quickly, little number of episodes. I wonder what will be next ? what if season 6 starts with Lucas and Peyton's marriage ? I wont be surprised...as I said things change too quickly in these episodes.

They always could do like another series with the people currently going to Tree Hill High
I think depending how season 6 goes... I think they can make something up. Mark Schwan is a brilliant writer so im sure that (if there were to be a season 7) he could make something up. I just hope that if this is then end... Season 6 goes out with a bang cos it would be a shame if after a brill season, it all goes downhill

I don't look at things on that way at all. Something which is good, also have to end. Making it happen, if it don't make sense anymore, it won't work. It can't least forever.
And season 6 is the last, that's for sure. It's confirmed.
Friends are also great, but after 10 seasons it was time to end, as much I'd love to see something new. The same with OTH and season 6.
But, enjoy watching season 5 for now.

Looks like season 6 might not be the last one In the US they have a column in which fans send in questions and the columnist answers it to the best they can... heres what it said:
Neither: The fate of OTH remains be determined. I checked with a source on the show, and he told me no decisions come down on the network side until May 2009, so hang in there. The new seasons starts Monday, Sept. 1, and there's a little more info below.

Seen it, I had three free periods so i came home to watch it. It was an ok episode. Loved the ending, if you havent read the spoilers already then it will blow you away. Cant wait to see what Mark Schwann does with Brookes storyline

But, like you said, we all know it'll all be perfectly fine to the end of season 6, they just need drama!
I still love OTH a lot, but season 4 should be end of it. That was so perfect and unbeatable.

I would say they are getting lazy but with episodes like these its hard to even prove that
I know towards the Xmas season they start to slow down a bit. Apparently theres a Halloween episode
Am i the only one who wanted a bit more Carrie action? And not just let it left until the last 10mins or so? Anyway, Bartender Guy is back!! He is the one who might get with Brooke.

I think it's gonna take a lot of money for them all to sign again, because they're all set for this being the last season.

Also, Robbie Jones (Quentin) told me this weekend, "I've actually been authorized to say yes, Quentin will be coming back. Very exciting. Actually, I'm leaving to go back next week to shoot a little more." So there you have it! We have definitely not seen the last of Q in the little town of Tree Hill.

Apparently The CW is soo impressed with the creative direction of the current season that they might pick it up for another season or TWO!!!!! Mark Schwan is pushing them to give him the news by Jan 1st so he can write the last couple of episodes for the season. Hopefully the new year will start with a bang with news of another season

According to insiders, Nick will be playing a singer, former reality star and former boy bander who is dating Vanessa Minnillo.
(Yes, he is playing himself.)
In the storyline, a record label wants to buy one of Haley’s (Bethany Joy Galeotti) songs that she wrote for Nick’s new album, but she is hesitant to sell any of her music, so he will appear.
Nick has a new album coming out this spring called Coming Up for Air, which includes a duet he recorded with new American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.

Tanner, who turned 34 on Tuesday, surrendered to federal prosecutors this morning and will be arraigned this afternoon in Brooklyn Federal Court.

He has also appeared in several movies, including the 2005 flick “Coach Carter” starring Samuel L. Jackson.
He always seemed like such a nice young man, but it turns out Antwon Tanner has more ‘skills’ than we realized. The actor who portrays football player and cougar wrangler Antwon ‘Skills’ Taylor on One Tree Hill was indicted today in Brooklyn, New York for trafficking fake Social Security cards and numbers. He surrendered peacefully to authorities and faced a court on Thursday.
There are two charges, and neither a very specific. The first is that he “knowingly and intentionally” transferred Social Security numbers with the intent to commit fraud in order to secure items valued at over $1,000. The other is that he used at least one of the numbers personally.
Since principal photography for One Tree Hill has wrapped for this season Tanner’s fate is unlikely to effect that of Skills on the show in the coming weeks. But it’s extremely unlikely that the producers will allow Tanner to continue as a member of the cast, meaning the character will likely be written out of the story in short order.
Tanner, who splits his year between Los Angeles and Wilmington, North Carolina, where One Tree Hill is filmed, is 34 years old. He previously starred with Samuel L. Jackson in Coach Taylor.

Antwon Tanner, One Tree Hill’s Antwon “Skills” Taylor, has pleaded not guilty in a New York federal court to participating in a Social Security scam.
The 34-year-old actor, whose credits include Coach Carter with Samuel L. Jackson and that catchy “Da Da Da” Volkswagen commercial, was busted in a sting operation and charged with selling 16 Social Security numbers and three counterfeit cards to a middleman between December 2005 and last July.
Tanner surrendered yesterday and entered his plea in Brooklyn Federal Court. He was released after posting $250,000 bail.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
The California native allegedly supplied the phony digits and cards to an unidentified contact who in turn sold them to an undercover agent with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).
According to a two-count indictment, Tanner used made-up Social Security numbers as well as those swiped from the living and the dead, and he passed them along without ever having a face-to-face meeting with the dealer. All the cards were allegedly sent through the mail.
The feds say Tanner banked thousands of dollars over a two-and-a-half-year period.
Neither Tanner nor his lawyer answered reporters’ questions upon leaving yesterday’s hearing, and the CW has declined to address his arrest or future on One Tree Hill.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night’s penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show’s seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its upfront presentation.
Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn’t be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday’s season finale.
To fill the void next season, a Hill insider tells me that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular.

It was recently announced that Burton and her co-star Chad Michael Murray are to leave the show after six series, a move which Burton described as "an emotional decision".
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress - who played Peyton Sawyer in the series - said: "There really wasn't a lot of turmoil. It was a fabulous six-year run, which is how long my contract was for, and I feel really lucky to have been a part of the show."

Just got an idea for a Naley storyline (very predictable but meh), Nathans medical condition comes back and then, im sure we shall be seeing the last of Dan in season 7...

I doubt they will breakup but hopefully you know, we get to see the arrival of a new Scott and just shake things up a little... I mean its not Tree Hill without a little drama in everyones lives
I havent heard anything about Kate either, ive heard that they might make Peyton take the record label with her so that might mean the end of Kate appearing but also there is the whole Chase/Mia thing so that might mean her coming back... Also, MARK, YOU BETTER GIVE SAM BACK TO BROOKE
EDIT: If i know what Tree Hill is like, i think Brookes pregnancy might become a bit of an issue. She will probably have a condition where her Uterus is not a stable enviroment for a baby after the attack from this season...

I loved how they started to mention her at the end of this season, just so it's not SO random that she comes into it
I read that Kate said on Mia's relationship with Chase.. "they'll have to do the long distance thing". So it's not looking fabulous
I too would like Samantha back with Brooke!
And you're right, that's probably the route they'll go down. They never make anything easy for Brooke. Poor thing.

Just seen on BARB that episode one of series 6 has got 515,000 viewers on E4. Didnt realise that the show was that popular.
I have managed to miss all spoilers for this series so far and it has started out really good, which is great cos series 5 was really crap in my opinion.

LOL, i wouldnt say it was crap but it wasnt its best... Also remember we only had 18 episodes that year so it was really rushed. But they done one massive U-Turn and im confident that S7 will be just as good as every other series

WOW this weeks episode was really bad.
I really could not stand the character of Q or the actor that played him so thats probably a reason why i disliked this episode so much, but the way they are treating his death is as if it was Lucas or Nathan that had died i.e a major character on the show.
As i said before, last weeks funeral episode was really nice, but to base two whole episodes around Q's death was overdoing it, it was beyond cheesy this week.
What did anyone else think

I really enjoyed it! I didn't think this episode was another focused solely on Q's death, it was just showing how most of them were getting through it.
I liked Brooke's scenes with the therapist, rather deep.

GUYS. Theres a chance of a One Tree Hill Convention in the UK! This would be an opportunity to meet some of the cast members of OTH including Hilarie Burton who was scheduled for the previous Convention before it got cancelled The guys that run the Conventions are asking that you sign a petition to show interest in the Convention and the more numbers they get the higher the chance i have of meeting Pey- i mean, Hilaire

Is anyone watching this UK paced? We're only three episodes in but it's going great so far! Clay and Quinn are actually pretty decent, although I can't stand Alex, and surprisingly enough I'm not missing Lucas and Peyton that much at all.

I think ever since Series 5 when they skipped on a few years the show has gone somewhat downhill, i mean it's still been decent watching because i like just about all the characters and Quinn & Clay are both great new additions in Series 7, its just dragged on for longer than it needed to really.

I'm watching it by the UK pace so I'm still on season 7 but I was so happy when I heard they were bringing back the title sequence. It was a huge mistake getting rid of it in the first place IMO.

Not reading back on this thread because I’ve only just started - just finished S1E14. Avoiding as many spoilers as possible for a show that ended 12 years ago. But I need to share how much I HATE Dan Scott right now. He’s such an absolute prick to everyone he speaks to.
He’s degrading, patronising, and all around awful to Nathan.
He treats Deb with disgust yet thinks their marriage isn’t over. I literally just watched Deb’s lawyer rock up to the car dealership where he says he’s not ready to give up on her yet, then IMMEDIATELY threatens Deb through the lawyer.
He treats Keith and Lucas like they are worthless at every possible opportunity
He’s cold towards Haley for… no reason at all?
The person he’s probably the nicest to is Karen and even that is scraping the barrel for positives. He saved Lucas by taking him to the hospital but that’s also one of the very few times he’s ever acknowledged his existence lol
I know that he will do some wayyyy worse things I can feel it but I just had to share my distaste from only the first half of one season He’s such a piece of work. Props to the actor for portraying a character who was made to be hated because he did a fantastic job at it. I’ve watched a lot of TV shows with widely hated characters, most well known I guess Joffrey in GoT, but even then I’d way prefer to watch Dan die slowly and let Joffrey live a peaceful life
