I’m surprised at how well the new releases are doing seeing as HMV haven’t stocked any new releases lately and some of the films, you can only find them in HMV as supermarkets won’t stock them such as 4K releases

Looks like Mack was right as 'A Star Is Born' remains top of the DVD and overall charts. Halloween enters at 2 and Hunter Killer proves that people still love rubbish Gerard Butler action flicks as it enters at 3. Offers on Marvel films means massive climbs for all of those.

Has anyone actually heard of any of the 3 new entries in the 10-20 region???

Despite it being nowhere near Christmas they did release The Grinch this week at it enters at 2. The Nutcracker & Overlord both have very solid openings despite being theatrical flops. Peterloo does amazing to reach the top 10 and Free Solo becomes the biggest documentary in years by débuting in the top 20. Slaughterhouse Rulez is a massive flop for Simon Pegg & Nick Frost.

Other noteworthy occurrences this week are:

1) The Greatest Showman finally departs the top 10 after 43 weeks inside as it falls to 12. Although I imagine it will probably re-enter next week.

No surprise as Fantastic Beasts makes it to #1 and the double-pack arrives at 5. The absolutely brilliant 'Widows' makes a solid new entry at 4. If you haven't seen that yet I fully recommend it. Elizabeth Debicki & Viola Davis are particularly good in it. A Blu-Ray release of an old season of Doctor Who makes the top 10 and just as I predicted last week The Greatest Showman's fall from the top 10 doesn't last long.

Fantastic Beasts makes it two weeks at the top but I wouldn't be surprised if Bohemian Rhapsody manages to overtake it next week. Creed II is the highest new entry at #3 but cannot match the original which made #1. In the battle of the reboots nobody wanted Robin Hood beats out The Girl In The Spider's Web. For the 2nd week in-a-row a Doctor Who release makes the top 10. This time it's an animated remake of a lost episode using its remaining original audio.

Ralph breaks the charts as he matches the original by getting to #1. A film I'm sure everyone has already seen on Netflix, Annihilation, is the only other new entry to the top 10. Poor Robert Redford, his final ever film gets beat by a film I've never heard anything about (Stormbirds???). Apart from the big two, the only other new entry that I've seen is Assassination Nation which I thought was very excessive but still decent nonetheless.

This week certainly belongs to Marvel. With Endgame breaking records all across the world and now Into The Spider-Verse reaching #1 in these charts. The first ever film based on a Marvel comic, Howard The Duck, enters the chart for the first time at #49 after it finally receiving a Blu-Ray release.

In non-Marvel news, I'm shocked that Mortal Engines was able to pick up enough steam to reach #3 and a 40-year anniversary Blu-Ray re-release of Alien pushes it to #13; the highest it's ever been.

Movement returns to the top 10 after last week's stalemate and it's a good week for female-led films with all 3 new entries being so. Bumblebee tops the Favourite and lower-down Colette enters at #8. Robert Zemeckis has really lost it as his newest film enters all-the-way down at #78 under random films (Ravenswood Asylum & Hitman: Redemption: that I certainly hadn't heard about. I think Steve Carrell is never getting that Oscar.

One of my favourite films of the year, Glass, easily gets the #1. Solid opening for Mary Queen Of Scots at #3. I'm not quite sure how Lancaster Skies made the top 10 but it has at #6. A massive surprise hit in the US where it grossed almost the same as Glass, The Upside can't quite match it in the UK falling low at #20. People really want to watch Ted Bundy at the moment as a cheap 'Silence Of The Lambs-esque' film with him as the main character reaches the top 40.

How To Train Your Dragon ends the franchise with a #1 and this year's best picture winner 'Green Book' enters at #4, one place lower than 'The Shape Of Water' did last year behind Black Panther & The Greatest Showman.

Instant Family was a bit on a surprise hit in the UK after flopping in the US and continues its success with a #6 opening. A Liam Gallagher documentary rounds up the top 10.

Kenneth Branagh playing Shakespeare is enough of an attraction to reach #23, higher than a film obviously trying to take advantage of the upcoming, similarly titled Tarantino movie (#31) and Rosamund Pike's failed Oscar bait (#35).

Despite being a massive hit ($155 million worldwide off a $9 million budget), Escape Room can only just scrape the top 40 at #38.

Also Wales won some Rugby and the DVD of it enters at #88 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

People must have short memories because after under-performing at the Box Office due to Liam Neeson's very misguided comments about race and revenge, Cold Pursuit easily manages to top all the charts here. Another box office disappointment, Joe Cornish's 'The Kid Who Would Be King' enters the top 10 at #4. Sequel to the surprise hit, 'Happy Death Day 2U' and not-Polar-but-the-other-snowy-2018-Mads-Mikkelsen movie 'Arctic' make the top 20.

It can never understand how cheap, poorly-made films with no stars like 'Alone We Fight' can easily sell more copies than films with established stars like 'On The Basis Of Sex'.

Fighting With My Family continues to be a success by entering all of the charts at #1. It even spawns another new entry for the real life Paige at #80.

A random film called 'Eye For An Eye' reaches the top 20. I imagine this is purely off the cover art that prominently shows John Travolta & Morgan Freeman.

In one of the most inappropriate cinematic universes of all-time, "The ... of Auschwitz"-CU gets another new entry with 'Angel' reaching #30 after "Guard" (#13) and "Accountant" (#43).

D-Day also seems to be starting a shock cinematic universe as "Dog Company" reaches #62 after "The Last Heroes" reached #70 last month.

The Keanussance hasn't yet reached the home-media charts as "Destination Wedding" misses the top 40 despite pairing him with Winona Ryder.

The film with the wildest and worse shock twist ending of all-time 'Serenity' reaches #55. Seriously, if you don't know the ending of that film please search it. It's so bad it almost makes it a must see.

Captain Marvel is obviously #1 but it's also a very good week for television as Chernobyl just missed out at #2 and Gentleman Jack scrapes the top 10.

Five Feet Apart cannot quite replicate its US success here and we (just about) get some anime in the chart with Mirai at #95.

I'm not quite sure how that 'Mutants' film has managed to reach the top 40 as it took me over half-an-hour to find out any information about what it is. Even then I'm not 100% sure this is the correct film I've linked to (its not on Amazon or HMV websites).

The distributors of The Edge must have felt like they won the lottery when England won the Cricket World Cup a few weeks ago as it has helped this England Cricket doc have an impressively high new entry. How else could a cricket documentary reach the top 20?

'What Men Want' proved not to be what audiences want as it only enters at a lowly #38.

No change in the top 3 with the highest new entry being 'Missing Link' at #4. The latest well-reviewed but massive box-office disappointment from Laika Studios. If you're wondering how they still in business after this flops, they are being bankrolled by the father of Travis Knight (the company's CEO and director of many of the films) who owns Nike.

The third film directed by Voldermort himself, Ralph Fiennes, opens at #22. It's about ballet and looks a bit boring to be honest.

For a 2nd week in a row a film has attempted to take advantage of Tarentino's upcoming movie by releasing a Charles Manson film. This one is slightly more successful than 'Charlie Says' last week, opening 2 places higher at '46.

Gulag... is a UK release of a Hungarian film from last year. Domino is a horribly reviewed film from once big-time director Brian De Palma. Here's a quote from its 1 star review in the latest issue of Total Film

It's a great week if you're Detective Comics as Shazam! opens at #1 on all formats, the animated Batman film, 'Hush' opens at #5 (and #2 on Blu Ray) and Aquaman climbs back into the top 10.

Pet Sematary has a solid opening for a horror film and, alongside 2017's 'It', shows that there is a market for Stephen King remakes. Although its not as lucrative as the Disney remake market.

If you're a fan of westerns you should check out 'The Sisters Brothers'. It has a great cast (John C. Reilly & Joaquin Phoenix) and is apparently very good.

After being chosen as the most popular anime of this decade in the recent Buzzjack Family Fortunes quiz, Attack On Titan (Season 3, Part 1) just about makes the top 75.

Lust For A Vampire is film from 1971 that was just got a Blu Ray release which allows it to chart for this first time.

2 weeks after I bought it, Quentin Tarentino Collaction (just about) makes the top 100 for the first time. It includes his first 5 films (or 4 if you're Tarantino): Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown & the 2 Kill Bills.

Iron Man gets a 4K release which sells enough for it and the trilogy collection to re-enter the top 40.

Very busy release week as 5 new titles enter the top 10. The winner is 2019's Hellboy reboot. It's a very hollow victory for Lionsgate as it has been one of (if not) the biggest flops of the year.

Judi Dench as a Soviet Spy is an intriguing enough prospect for Red Joan to enter solidly at #4.

Another one of the largest flops of the year, Wonder Park, enters at #6. This film was made to promote an upcoming Nickelodeon TV show but after this under-performance the future of that is unclear.

Wild Rose is the UK's answer to A Star Is Born and stars Jessie Buckley as an ex-con who dreams of being a country singer.

I'm very surprised that the incredibly controversial 'Dragged Across Concrete' makes the top 10. It stars Vince Vaughn & Mel Gibson as violent (and racist) cops who are suspended after a video of their abuse of suspects is leaked. It's apparently a good film but the casting of Mel Gibson is that role was obviously designed to be offensive.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that Lego DC: Batman: Family Matters is an animated Batman take on the classic sitcom

Two old films with fairly similar premises enter for the first time. Cruising (#60) is a 1980 film staring Al Pacino as a detective that must infiltrate the underground S&M gay subculture to catch a killer and Klute (#91) is a 1971 film about a detective whose only lead on the case of a missing person is a prostitute.

Two films from 2017 also enter for the first time. The Unknown Soldier (#49) is a Finnish film based on a war novel and Guardian Of The Universe (#77) is a film which has been renamed for its UK release to try and trick people into thinking its Guardians Of The Galaxy. It's original title is "Neil Stryker and the Tyrant of Time" and has a 3.9 on IMDB.

Little (#72) is a film that was thought-up (and executive-ly) produced) by 15 year old star 'Marsai Martin'. That probably explains why it has the least-original concept of any film released this year. Just watch Big or Freaky Friday or 13 Going On 30 instead.

Serengeti (#82) is a BBC documentary narrated by John Boyega. Not quite the same success as Planet Earth.

I'm not quite sure why a Curious George boxset from 2006 has enters but it has. A shop must be having a sale on Children's DVD's as Shopkins: World Vacation & Trolls: Holiday also re-enter (and Smufs: The Lost Village re-enters the DVD chart).

Hellboy gets a 2nd week at #1 after everyone runs scared of the big release next week. You know it's a slow week when Iron Man 2 can re-enter at #1 on the Blu Ray Chart! :lol

Escape Plan remains to be a popular franchise (even sans Arnold Schwarzenegger) with '3' being the highest new entry at #5 and the box-set also entering at #25.

2 horror films from Warner Bros. enter this week. Critters Attack at #22 & The Banana Splits Movie at #33. I think I need to watch a horror film based on an old children's TV show

The only other films entering this week are Greta #59 & Killers Anonymous (#75). Greta is a mystery film with Chloe Grace Moretz and Killers Anonymous stars Gary Oldman & Jessica Alba if you look at the DVD cover but I suspect they don't really have large roles.

Its all about TV this week with Elseworlds (3 episodes from The Flash, Arrow & Supergirl) entering at #6 and TV movie First Light at #72.

New series from Killing Eve, American Horror Story, Shadowhunters & Brooklyn Nine-Nine enter the top 100 while hype for the upcoming film helps The Downton Abbey Collection to chart for the first time.

The only other new entry is a concert film by Runrig which enters after 3 weeks on the Blu Ray Chart.

To the surprise of no-one, Avengers: Endgame easily makes the #1. It's closest competition was in fact itself, with the 4 Avengers film collection entering behind it at #2.

The Hustle, the directorial debut of Mock The Week & The Thick Of It (& Direct Line Adverts) star Chris Addison, is one of the worst-reviewed films of the year and a huge flop in the USA but manages #7 in this weeks chart. The film is a remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (which itself was a remake of 1964's Bedtime Story).

Amazing Grace (#23) is an apparently absolutely amazing concert film from the great Aretha Franklin recorded in 1972.

Cold Blood Legacy (#38) & Crypto (#68) are this weeks token cheap DTV films to make the chart. Cold Blood Legacy is about a retired hitman who (shockingly) gets dragged back in for one more hit. Crypto is a film starring Kurt Russel if you look at the DVD cover but he doesn't even appear on the first page of the cast list on IMDb so I'd take take that news with a pinch of salt. The film is about a Wall Street banker who gets caught up in corruption.

This weeks TV entries involve Poldark (#9), True Detective (#35) and Castle Rock (#67).

Endgame gets a second week at the top and despite half the top 10 being new entries, it's nearest challenger is actually 2017's It.

Tolkien is the highest of the new entries (#3). It is a biopic of the author of Lord Of The Rings starring Nicholas Hoult.

Movie universes continue to rule the chart with the latest Conjuring film at #5 and the latest A Dog's-erverse movie at #7. Also just to prove we haven't had enough of American criminals, Sky's Extremely Wicked... enters at #6.

The Keeper is another biopic in this weeks top 10 (#10). This time of ex German goalkeeper Bert Trautmann. He was most famous for playing in (and winning) the 1956 FA Cup final with a broken neck. Although the film does not focus on this part of his life.

If Seth Rogen/Charlize Theron rom-com 'Long Shot' was hoping the have a 2nd life on DVD it's going to be disappointed as it missed the top ten (#14) to follow it's awful box-office run.

The most anticipated sequel of all time, 21 years in the making "Scooby-Doo: Return To Zombie Island" reaches the top 40 (#27). I definitely watched that one a few times when I was young.

Before Robert Pattinson returns to the blockbusters with Batman & Tenet, he continues his indie phase with High Life (#61). I've heard very weird things about this one so good luck if you chose to watch it.

War films always seem to be a popular as this week's new entry in the genre is 'Battle Of Leningrad" (#69).

This weeks TV entries are Modern Family (#80), Rivieria (#96) & Numberblocks (#98).

We were all wrong last week as, despite its sales being split between the solo disc and the 3 Film Collection (#4), John Wick beats Pikachu to the #1 spot.

It was a busy week overall with 6 new entries and one re-entry to the top 10. Despite there usually being at least 1 Paw Patrol related title in the top 100, I believe 'Mighty Pups' is the first time the franchise has ever made the top 10 (#6).

Apocalypse Now re-enters at #5 after it was re-released with a new '2019 Final Cut' edited by Coppola himself.

Kursk: The Last Mission is a French/Belgian adaptation of a book called 'A Time To Die' based on the 2000 Russian Submarine sinking of the Kursk. Colin Firth features predominantly on the DVD cover as he seems to be the only British actor in the cast.

Boudica: Rise Of The Warrior Queen (#20) is the only other modern new film to enter the chart. It appears to have horrible reviews on IMDb and is hard to locate on the internet so it's impressive that it managed to make the top 20. Sounds like a live-action version of Brave to be honest.

Blu Ray releases allow 3 older films to chart for the first time. These are The Hills Have Eyes: Part II (#72), High Noon (#77) and Local Hero (#87). The Hills Have Eyes 2 is Wes Craven's follow-up to the cannibal original classic. High Noon is a Gary Cooper & Grace Kelly western which won 4 Oscars in 1953. Local Hero is a Burt Lancaster film where he is an American sent to Scotland to try and buy a whole village to build a refinery there. It contains an early performance by Peter Capaldi.

A concert tour by Slash enters at #83. It only seems to be available to purchase alongside a CD so I guess the OCC decided to disqualify it from the album charts and place it in the Video charts.

This weeks only TV entry is Arrow (#10).

Green Book, Jumanji 2, Venom & The Greatest Showman all re-enter the top 40. Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection is so close to being top 40 for the first time.

Also interesting to note that Paw Patrol was #5 on the DVD chart and didn't make the Blu Ray chart while Apocalypse Now was #5 in the Blu Ray chart and didn't make the DVD Chart

I think it's impressive that they managed #5 and #6 in the combined chart while both only appearing at #5 in their respective formats chart. Especially when films top 20 in the Blu Ray chart often miss the top 100 completely (for example Shadow is #20 in the Blu Ray chart this week and not in the combined chart).

Aladdin takes the top spot and makes it 2/2 so far for Disney remakes this year with The Lion King surely coming to complete the treble. John Wick holds well at #2 and #5 while Endgame overtakes Pikachu.

First Light re-enters at it's highest position at #64. It is a 2010 BBC adaptation of a popular book about an RAF pilot.

The only film besides Aladdin to enter for the first time this week is Never Grow Old at #87. It stars Emile Hirsch, Deborah Francois & John Cusack and holds an impressive 90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is about an undertakes who has a question of morals as his profits rise due to outlaws taking over his small village.

A WWE show does enough to enter at #73.

It's all about the TV this week with new entries from Arrow (#6), Supergirl (#7), NCIS: Los Angeles (#15), Hawaii Five-0 (#29), Dragon Ball Super (#50) and Chicago Fire (#74).

John Wick: Chapter 2, Fighting With My Family & The Favourite re-enter the top 40.

You know October is upon us when Hocus Pocus re-enters the chart. Similiar reasons help 2018's Halloween sequel and the Hotel Transylvania 3-pack re-enter.

The UK proves just how much it loves a biopic about a legendary British musician as Rocketman reaches #1 while Bohemian Rhaposdy is still in the top 10. Can next years Boy George film do the same? Probably not but I reckon a George Michael biopic would have been a banker.

A Score To Settle (#17) is one of the 5000 films that Nicholas Cage currently makes per year. It's about a dying man who when released from prison must decide between reconnecting with his son or exacting revenge on the people who got him arrested.

Booksmart (#46) is a delightful film, with my favourite performace of the year so far coming from Kaitlyn Dever, which has been screwed over in the UK by it's distribyter eOne. First they stopped reporting the box office of their films which meant that it didn't register in the weekly box office charts and now they've decided to stop releasing Blu Rays for some of their films, which means that Booksmart just misses out on the top 40. I urge anyone who likes this film to import the Blu Ray from America to show eOne that there's still a market for Blu Rays for films like this. Other films impacted have been Wild Rose & A Dog's Joruney, with Late Night, Ma & Good Boys set to follow suit.

If in 2019, anyone is fancying a film starring Tara Reid then go and get Ouija House (#48). I think the premise of the film should be obvious from the title.

This weeks only TV entry is The Walking Dead (#6).

The main story this week is the return of the bi-annual Disney sale which leads to Mary Poppins Return(s)ing to the top 10 and a further 16 other re-entries.

The Shining gets a 4K release which helps in enter the top 10 for the first time. Expect it to stick around with the sequel, Doctor Sleep, coming soon.

The other re-entry I want to talk about is Mean Girls (#99). It was released on Blu Ray for the first time in the UK last week just in time for October 3rd. This release was called the 'Burn Book Edition' and came with the film on DVD & Blu Ray amongst many other gifts, including the script and original production notes. I bought it, it's pretty cool

In the battle of diminshing sequels, the Fox X-Men franchise concludes (unless New Mutants actually gets released )with a final #1. I'm still yet to see it but I've got every other X-Men film on Blu Ray so I will wait until it's cheap (probably not too long) and get it then.

The Secret Life Of Pets opens in second place but I imagine with the sales from the double pack (#10) it would have beat Jean Grey et al. to the top spot. It does, however, manage to top the DVD chart and was let down by only opening at #4 in the Blu Ray chart.

One of the first shows that brought about the current golden age of TV that were in, Deadwood, returns with a movie that didn't have the effect I imagine HBO were hoping for. It opens at #16 here.

The Vengeance Trilogy (#28) is a series of 3 films by director Park Chan-wook. Most famous of the 3 is Oldboy which I'm sure many people will have seen. Hopefully not the pointless Spike Lee remake with Thanos, Scarlet Witch, Nick Fury & Mantis in. The other films in this trilogy are Sympahty for Mr. Vengeance & Lady Vengeance.

Horror remakes are all the range this week with The Mummy Rebirth (#33), Rabid (#38) and Suspiria (#81) all entering. The Mummy Rebirth is a cheaply made 80 minute straight-to-DVD release which should say it all.

Rabid is a Canadian remake of the 1977 Cronenberg film about a woman who develops a taste for blood after getting experimental surgery after an accident which leaves her disfigured. The most interesting bit of trivia about this film is that it's produced by a man called Paul Lalonde who had previously only produced a load of very religious films. Interesting turn from him.

Suspiria is an incredibly devisive remake of the 1977 Italian horror classic by Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino. That might just be the wildest discrepancy between a directors last 2 movies of all-time. The film features witches, ballerines and lots of surreal violence.

Hitsville (#51) is a documentary about the origins of Motown. Having been made by Motown Records, its apparenetly very positive and chooses not to focus on any of the controversies surrounding Motown.

Thomas & Friends (67) is a full-length feature based on the classic British Television series and Summerslam (#80) is another one of this year's WWE events.

The Birdcatcher (#90) is this week's WWII entry. It's about a Norwegian girl who flees the Nazis and finds work on a farm by pretending to be a boy.

Skin (#100) is about a Neo-Nazi who finds love and decided to change his ways. It's based on 2012 documentary. The title refers to the racist tattoos that covered the man's face and body which requirted 25 brutal tattoo surgeries to remove.

This weeks TV entries include Doctor Who (#8) and Vikings (#13).

My nephew's favourite character in the world, Godzilla enters at #1. Now we'll wait to see if Godzilla vs Kong can do the same next year.

3 From Hell also impresively manages a top 10 debut at #9. It is the 3rd film in Rob Zombie's cult horror franchise after House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects.

DC animated films always do well and Teen Titans Go vs. Teen Titans (#17) is no exception. I don't know how the events unfold in the film but it seems to me like the OG Titans would win easily, no?

The 'unavailable on Blu Ray' curse strikes again and meanas that Octavia Spencer horror filick Ma (#36) and Mindy Kaling/Emma Thompson talk-show comedy Late Night (#74) can only just about sneak the top 40 and 75 respectively.

This weeks's inevitable war film is 1862 Battle For Glory (#39). It appears to be a repackaing of a 2016 film called The War Riders which has a pretty hillarious synopsis on IMDb.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of those actors that used to be huge stars but now only has enough of a draw to get the odd straight-to-DVD film in the charts. (Also see John Travolta, Nick Cage, Bruce Willis etc). His latest is We Die Young (#46) which has a sterotypical veteran gets pulled up into the world of the mafia/cartel/gang/yakuaza/delete as approprite plot.

Sometimes Always Never (#79) is a family drama starring Bill Nighy that revolves around a missing son.

Music impacts this weeks charts with documentary about Marianne Ihlen & Leonard Cohen, Marianne & Leonard: Words Of Love (#48) and a concert double-pack from The Cure (#34) entering.

A collection of classic horror franchise Friday The 13th enters at 81. This spans all the way from the original to cult-favourite Jason Takes Manhattan.

This weeks TV entries include Titans (#37) and Peppa Pig (#89).

The previous post was right as Toy Story 4 tops the charts with the 4 film collection also entering at #9, beating the underperforming Men In Black reboot/sequel 'International'.

The Queen's Corgi is an animated film starring Jack Whitehall about a pet of the Queen that gets lost and tries to get home. The trailer made the film look horibble and it seems the critics and auidence agreed.

I remember when the first trailer for Brightburn dropped with James Gunn's name predominantly featured and asked what if Superman was evil and the internet was hyped. Well the film came out and immediately lost any momentum it had with poor reviews. It does well to scrape a top 10 entry in the end.

Child's Play is another horror remake that sounded intriguing, Mark Hamill voicing Chucky and Aubrey Plaza playing the lead but it seems no-one else agreed as it flopped at the box office and now misses the top 10 in the home media charts.

DC animated films continue their hot streak with Wonder Woman: Bloodlines (#16). Athough, I have heard that this is one of the weaker ones.

This weeks's inevitable war film is Dauntless: The Battle Of Midway. It's a WWII flick focused on a battle between Japan & the USA.

The latest film from acclaimed horror director, Ari Aster following last year's Hereditary, Midsommar, enters the top 10 at #8. Unusually for a horror film, it is set fully in the light with many bright colours during Sweden's Midsommar festival.

Next up at #15 is a franchise that really should have stopped after one film. Nativity Rocks is the 4th(!) Nativity film and judging by the 2nd and 3rd entries, I'm sure is rubbish. The original, however, remains a really fun modern Christmas classic.

Doom: Annihilation (#20) is the 2nd attempt to make a live-action movie based on the classic video-game series and after the reception this one has got, probably the final one too. Picture the latest Hellboy reboot and then imagine it being even worse and you're probably thinking of this film.

Nightbreed (#23) is a cult 1990 fantasy-horror film directed by Clive Barker, based on his 1988 book Cabal. It has reached the charts for the first time after a Blu Ray re-release.

10 Minutes Gone (#51) is the latest straight-to-DVD film that Bruce Willis turns up in for the pay cheque. In it, a man has memory-loss after a heist gone wrong and attempts to piece together the last 10 minutes to remember who crossed him.

Vita & Virginia (#94) is a true story about a romance between Virginia Woolf & author Vita Sackville-West. It stars Elizabeth Debicki & Gemma Arteton.

This weeks's inevitable war film is Occupied. This is a film from 2016, originally titled 'I Am A Teacher'. It is about a Russian teacher who stands up for his family during the Great Patriotic War.

Forget Halloween it's now Christmas szn with 11 Christmas related re-entries and climbs for some that were already in the top 100.

However a film released this summer manages to get the #1 despite only being #2 in the DVD chart. Yesterday is of course about a world where everyone forgets that the Beatles existed and one man decides to re-record all their music. It's Danny Boyle's first film since T2 Trainspotting.

Disney's most succesful TV-Movie series since High School Musical, Descendants, gets it's highest peak in the UK home video charts. This follows Descendants (#18) and Descendants 2 (#7). The films are about the children of classic Disney villains and how they try to fit in among their hero-equivalent peers and stars Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart and the late Cameron Boyce. The 3-film collection opens at #19.

Suitably peaking at #11 is Apollo 11. This is a documentary featuring never-before-seen footage of the Apollo 11 mission to get man on the moon and is apparently very fascinating and well worth a watch.

The latest in a collection of expensive flops from Luc Besson is Anna (#13). I don't think he's ever going to get back to the days of The Fifth Element & Leon. This film felt like just a knock-off of Atomic Blonde (which was already a knock-off of John Wick) so I'm surprised it's managed to do as well at a #13 debut.

This weeks's inevitable war film is slightly different to usual and not a WWI or WWII film. It is instead Robert The Bruce (#22). The film is about how Robert, after failure, finds refuge with a family who inspire him to fight again.

This weeks TV entries include DC's Legends Of Tomorrow (#25), The Expanse (#61), Batman Beyond (#71) & The Blacklist (#80).

It's another great week for Marvel as Spider-Man: Far From Home bags a #1 with the double-pack also at #18 and Phase 3, Part 2 matches the peak of Phase 3, Part 1 just over a year ago by entering at #21. They also dominate the Blu Ray top 10.

Diego Maradona is the 3rd in a trilogy of acclaimed documentaries from director Asif Kapadia. This follows Senna (#1) and Amy (#4). It of course, follows one of the greatest footballers of all-time and his time at Napoli. While it's the least successful of the 3, he is the first to get both forename and surname into the film's title.

Another football documentary, Everton, Howard's Way enters just behind at #44. This one is set at a similar time-period (mid eighties) to Maradona but instead focuses on the very successful Everton team at the time that won a league and cup double (with a record points tally).

Night Hunter (#48) stars Henry Cavill as a detective trying to hunt down a child murderer. Having read it's synopsis, it also features what must be the most overused plot twist of all-time: (the surprise twin).

One Christmas themed new entry this wee: Surviving Christmas With The Relatives (#66). It's a British comedy film with a large ensemble cast but judging by the reviews Love, Actually it is not.

The Big Bang Theory cannot end with a big bang as the final season misses the top 10 at #23. Season 11 peaked at #12, Season 10 at #5 & 9 at #4.

This week's other TV entries include Peaky Blinders (#5 & #90), Mrs Brown's Boys (#19) & Wentworth Prison (#99).

Mack is indeed correct as The Lion King makes it 3/3 for Disney remakes this year. In fact, the other 2 are both still in the top 10 with Aladdin at 4 and Dumbo at 10. The double pack with the 1994 original opens at #22.

Annabelle comes home to the top 10, landing at #7. This is in line with the rest of the Conjuring Universe. The Conjuring (#16), The Conjuring 2 (#2), The Conjuring 1 & 2 (#87), Annabelle (#4), Annabelle: Creation (#31), The Nun (#1) & The Curse Of La Llorona (#5).

After 2 football documentaries opened last week, this week we get another with Busby (#24) becoming the most successful of the 3. This one focuses on Sir Matt Busby, a Manchester United legend and who the road where Old Trafford is located is named after.

The Dead Don't Die (#32) is a zombie film coming from director Jim Jarmusch, with a large cast including Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton & Selena Gomez. The film got pretty poor reviews though with the words that kept popping up most was 'weird' and 'dull'.

The Current War (#40) is a film with a long drawn-out history. Based on Edison & Westinghouse's battle to decide if the world was going to use AC or DC electrical currents, the film was originally pushed as a huge Oscar contender, featuring a great cast of Tom Holland. Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon & Nicholas Hoult. It originally premiered to lukewarm reviews at 2017's Toronto Film Festival but it's release was delayed due to it being produced by the Weinstein Company. If finally got a release this year (with a new director's cut) but it seemed too little too late and the film didn't make much of an impact.

If anyone was planning on buying Adele Roberts a Christmas present this year then you're sorted as a Jane McDonald Christmas Concert performance is new at #84.

The only new entry in the top 10 this week is Rotten Romans (#8). A spin-off of the incredibly popular kids sketch show (and book series) Horrible Histories. The cast list is really a who's who of moderately famous British comedic actors.

Pavarotti (#58) is a documentary about the classical singer directed by Solo's last-minute stand-in Ron Howard.

We also get our fourth football documentary of the month as Make Us Dream enters at 65. This one is about the man who slipped on his f****n arse and gave it to Demba Ba, Steve Gerrard (Steve Gerrard). Steven Gerrard is now manager of Rangers but this film focuses on his playing career at Liverpool.

The James Bond Collection enters for the first time in anticipation for next year's No Time To Die. This holds all the James Bond films from the first, 1962's Dr No to the most recent, 2015's Spectre.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood gets a very deserved #1 spot. A masterpiece from one of the all-time greatest directors. If this really is his penultimate film, then he’s going out strong. Let’s look back at Tarentino’s films.

Tarentino: Reservoir Dogs (#2), Pulp Fiction (#1), Jackie Brown (#3), Kill Bill: Volume 1 (#1), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (#1), Death Proof (#1), Inglourious Basterds (#3), Django Unchained (#1), The Hateful Eight (#1). Remarkable consistency. I can’t believe Inglourious Basterds is his lowest peaking as I imagine its also his 2nd best-selling in the UK behind Pulp Fiction.

Dora just misses out on a top 10. This film is apparently actually surprisingly decent and is notable for inspiring the creepiest film review of the year.

With Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Rocketman (Elton John) & Yesterday (The Beatles) in the top 10 and Last Christmas (George Michael!) doing well at the Box Office, films based on an artists discography seem like guaranteed smashes so you would have expected Blinded By The Light to be huge. However, it has had a poor opening at #16 here. Maybe you must have to be a British artist for it to be a success, sorry Springsteen.

How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (#28) is a cheap straight-to-dvd sequel to the recently ended Dragon trilogy. It’s set in a future where everyone has forgotten of the previous good relations between humans and dragons.

It was one of the year’s largest flops in the US and I’m not even sure if it reached UK cinemas but the failure doesn’t end there as UglyDolls opens at an abysmal #60. They have hired a lot of singers to voice the characters so I think they were hoping for a Trolls-like Justin Timberlake single success which would propel the film into the spotlight. That didn’t happen which meant that nobody cared.

The Exorcist III finally makes the chart at #99 after a Blu-Ray re-release.

This week's only TV entry is Family Guy (#43).

The third in the Fallen franchise, Angel, matches the first two films and reached #1 in the home media charts. This one has a similar plot to The Fugative or any of Bourne/Mission: Impossible films where out lead is falsely accused of a crime and must evade the law to clear his name. The 3-film multi-pack enters at '12.

Western Stars (#16) is a live performance of his new album by Bruce Springsteen accompanied with personal clips recorded by Springsteen himself.

Crawl (#22) is an Alligator-horror film that got surprisingly solid reviews earlier this year. A woman goes looking for her missing father during a hurricane and gets trapped in his flooded home.

Good Boys was a shock box-office #1 in the USA beating out The Angry Birds Movie 2. However it cannot quite replicate the same success here missing the top 40 at #49. If you want to know what it's about, imagine Superbad but with kids.

Bone Alone (#86) is a 2013 film originally titled Alone For Christmas. It is essentially a remake of Home Alone but with a dog instead of Macaulay Culkin. I'm not sure how it took them 6 years to come up with the alternate title but it's obviously worked for them.

The final chart of the decade brings very little change. Angel Has Fallen remains at #1. The final #1 of the noughties was "Michael McIntyre: Hello Wembley". It's a shock that no stand-up DVD's have taken off this Christmas. There's usually a couple of them here at this time of year.
