woo I've been listening all day and know all 28 songs back to front, will vote tonight probably, just need to cut 3 songs from my whittled down 13
Posted by: Pavel 7th December 2009, 07:56 PM
It really took you so long to copy/paste post this thread
Anyways, voting tomorrow if a miracle happens. So then i will be N/A for the whole 3 next weeks. If there won't be a miracle it'd be a disaster and consider me dead
Actually moving off sad news - CAMDONIA FTW.

I'll probably vote around Wednesday/Thursday, I need to familiarise myself with the SF1 songs (and the AQs )
Posted by: gooddelta 7th December 2009, 08:30 PM
I know everything there is to know about BJSC - any song that's ever been entered - all of the results etc...
but I don't understand or even care about the waiting list in any way shape or form it's probably another rule that can be easily bent depending on the power/prominence of the poster in question
Posted by: thisispop 7th December 2009, 08:39 PM
As I'm on holiday for a week (Chrimbo shopping, etc) from Wednesday I will have time to listen to these and vote well before the deadline.
Posted by: gooddelta 7th December 2009, 08:40 PM
Rontvia have sent their votes! Definitely a good idea downloading and listening to all 46 entries last week, it was a lot nicer to get to know all of the songs organically than force myself to listen to them all in the final week! I must have listened to all the finalists at least five times each!!! my stats;
3 10/10's 4 9.5/10's 8 9/10's (3 of which I voted for) 5 8.5/10's 4 8/10's 2 7.5/10's 1 7/10
you know it's a good final when everything is at least a 7 a la 'good'. 8 means 'very good', 9 means 'excellent', 9.5 means 'amazing' and 10 means 'perfect or damn near it' definitely another high quality final!

The Cherona YouTube is missing the last w, the link should be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROtlME4zhTw
Posted by: Aled. 7th December 2009, 09:04 PM
Lorikeet have also voted. Very very difficult, arguably the most difficult final ever i'd say. I'd have happily given points to nearly every song.
Posted by: Bad Robmance 7th December 2009, 09:12 PM
It's taking a long while to upload the recap to Youtube bizarrely, but it should be coming soon.. if not, it should certainly be up by tomorrow.

I'm getting annoyed now...is it just me or is the recap missing off letters? Like it says to me.. Kim-Lian & Linda Bengtzin. missing out the G.
Posted by: Mr Self Destruct 7th December 2009, 09:56 PM
woo Camdonia qualified again, its funny I used to do awful, now I seem to be able to qualify most the time (even if I dont do that great in the final). I'd like to thank Pavel and Zech as they seem to be routing me on. Camdonia uber alles.

Yeah, I noticed that my song was titled "I Lik" in the semis (and now in this), but I thought maybe you'd just lost your spelling skills.
It doesn't matter really, as long as the sound works. Thanks for making the recaps this month.

Don't worry Rob Thanks for all your hard work!

I can't hear any SF2 entries on the recap either...
Posted by: Tombliboo 7th December 2009, 10:46 PM
aww poor Rob
...and for the first time ever I actually feel my semi was stronger than this final
Posted by: Freeze 8th December 2009, 02:58 AM
Greenfroze has sent their votes in!
My final ratings from the song which recieved 1 point, to the amazing 8-10-12 pointers
1 point - 7/8 out of 10
2 points - 8/7+ out of 10
3 points - 7+ out of 10
4 points - 8+ out of 10
5 points - 8/9- out of 10
6 points - 8+ out of 10
7 points - 8 out of 10
8 points - 9- out of 10
10 points - 9+ out of 10
12 points - 10 out of 10
There are some differences between rating and voting order. Some song are rated higher, but recieves lower points then other songs with slightly lower ratings.
To deserve points - it doesn't all depend on what I like the most, and how I like the songs.. there are several other contest/quality factors to evaluate.
Oh, and Donkeyboy truly deserves to be in the final

If i didn't know that Du is the song from JESC I'd say it's sung by an adult!
Posted by: Tomte Xmas Kay 8th December 2009, 06:19 PM

Posted by: Pavel 8th December 2009, 06:21 PM
The best is hot really, don't care that she sings in swedish or english, this doesn't matter... the live version is STRONG. How the hell she didn't win??!!
Might scrap some points
Voting now. ;o
Posted by: Pavel 8th December 2009, 06:30 PM
GOD FORGIVE ME I SINNED. You will know why as soon as you see what big points i gave to some song

Not that kinda girl kinda sounds like Rihanna - Disturbia in the beginning..
Posted by: Pavel 8th December 2009, 08:09 PM
It sounds like 37 other songs ONLY at the beginning, let alone next parts
Posted by: gooddelta 8th December 2009, 08:19 PM
Not That Kinda Girl is essentially every pop song from the last ten years rolled into one...a fitting tribute for the last BJSC of the decade
Posted by: Jack 8th December 2009, 08:21 PM
Shame it's nowhere near as good as the songs it's being compared to.
Posted by: Santa Mikey 8th December 2009, 08:37 PM
Its going to be so easy to vote, 7 countries I nominated in my semi are through to the final, and I only liked 3 from semi 1, I shall cast my votes tomorrow.

The verses remind me of a faster version of these verses to "Complicated" by Avril, or even "Party In The USA" by Miley? I think it's just a case of similar vocal delivery though.

YES! Agree with the Complicated comparison in the verses
the production is very Natasha Bedingfield in places too, and the vocal style is indeed quite Miley Cyrus

then ordering was even more pain except my top 3 which I knew since semi started .

None will come close to 'Knock You Down''s success
Although 'I Like' will do decently... 'Knock You Down' so should have won or at least come Top 5! Loads of people didn't like it until after the contest/after they voted!

I get that the music is slightly different on "I Like", but I think she's done better vocals and something like "Alienated" is too hard not to love.

Eek! To be fair, most of her songs DNQ'd. "Knock You Down" finished 10th and "Superhuman" (Chris Brown song) finished last, isn't this only her third final?

I agree! I like I Like () but Knock You Down is one of the defining R&B songs of the year and In A Perfect World likewise in terms of albums
Buzzjack has a weird hate for her...I can understand the Cheryl Cole hate seeing as she's always in our face, but despite how many hits she's had, Keri is still anonymous to average Joe much like Kelly Llorenna and Christina Milian

Yeah, but Average Joe looks like he's about to win X Factor

Every song now has points. Yes, every song and yes, that includes Javine. And No I havent voted for her myself.
It's still all to play for tbh. You could easily jumpy from 22nd to 7th at the moment. Though judging from how things are going, there is 1 song in particular that you are all overlooking hugely in terms of who you think will win.

who knows how UK record companies work my prime choice of song to get Radio 1 playlisting in 2010 and become a hit is Music Everywhere! I don't know about Sometimes (which as I said somehwere else reminds me of Fleetwood Mac), but Ambitions could do very well here, it's very memorable

Agreed with you about that and, R&B being my favourite type of music, I'd say they are probably my song and album of the year.
I know, I do understand where they come from though. When I first heard the album I was like "it's totally bland apart from Knock You Down and Get Your Money Up" and then Jonjo told me to stick with it and I now love every track on there. (except maybe "Make Love") My second favourite is always changing from "Get Your Money Up" to "Alienated" to "Tell Him The Truth".
I do hope I'm the dark horse, it's my entry I've had least confidence in since Video Villain, so it'd be weird if it did well. I reckon Kid Sister will do well though.

I thought Keri's album was stunning on first listen the ballads are all gorgeous...Alienated is great
I think I Like will go top ten, should do better than most of your entries that you have huge confidence in and finish 19th

I used to think her ballads were boring as she didn't have the voice to pull them off, but it's all about tone and emotion. I should have known that from being a Beverley Knight fan. (though she has a brilliant voice too)
Haha, I really thought "Future" was one of my best BJSC entries and would be a dark horse at the time. Finishing 19th really knocked me down same, to a lesser extent, with "Back In Your Head". (but I'd been putting that off since XIV) I can just see finishing 19th now! That's the region I expect it to finish in anyway.

Hurtful probably will smash, although not being included on any of the Sound of 2010 lists puts him at an instant disadvantage
none of the others will ever happen they'll all be a case of Mine All Mine all over again and I've introduced Music Everywhere to nearly everyone I know and they all love it, it's incredibly instant - if flaming Party In The USA and Justin Bieber can be A-listed on Radio 1, I'm sure they can make space for Anna

It is, let's hope there isn't a coincidental result of the SF2 songs generally finishing lower. It's a shame it hasn't been fixed in time, but I'm sure Rob didn't mean to fix it against his own semi.
About to send in my votes, just gotta have a think first. Perhaps it would have been wiser if I voted before I saw one of these live yesterday.

My votes have now been sent.
Overall, a decent quality, could have voted for about 15 songs but I don't feel particularly attached to many. It feels like a contest of songs I'd be happy to give low points, without a lot of high scorers.

Hideously unfair that the semi-final 2 songs are silent on the recap video, but oh well.
Posted by: gooddelta 13th December 2009, 11:21 AM
I haven't even watched the recap video this time - but I really think that they are more of a hindrance than a help due to issues that can arise like these
if there was no recap then nobody would be able to vote based on 20 portion seconds of the songs
I seriously don't think that any voters are suddenly going to ignore all of the semi 2 songs just because there was no sound in the recap and if there is any voter that gives points only to the songs in semi 1 I think the question of their future participation in the contest should be raised...unless they genuinely did only like the songs in semi 1, which would be extremely unlikely.
If anything, the semi 2 songs are at an advantage because recap voters might have based the semi 1 songs on the recap portion and then have to go and listen properly to all the songs from semi 2, thus putting more time and energy into those songs

I bet a song that Dan gave 12 to in his semi has come 2nd or something

NEVER MIND. Doing some last minute checks it appears that id forgotten to add 1 countrys votes to the total. The gap between 1st and 2nd is now bigger. You will however still see what I mean what all but 1 of the votes have been revealed.
