Alternative flag:
Welcome to Sovarasma, home of different sounds. Most of our music is indie/alternative, sometimes pop too. The country is named "Sovarasma", derived from "σοβαρός" (Greek) meaning "serious", and "ᾆσμα" (Ancient Greek/Latin) meaning "song". I hope you all enjoy the selection throughout the BJSC contests!
Capital city: Agerson (Etymology: "ager" (Latin) -- field; "sonus" (Latin) -- sound)
Language: Sounds (Sovarasmo)
Head of delegation: Aoede
President: Canola
Population: 12,000,000
GDP distribution: 70% music industry exports, 20% sound equipment, 10% minerals and raw materials
Currency: SoundByte
Religion: Apollic
People who believe in Apollic believe in the God Apollo. They believe music is transcendent and they obey in the fundamental laws laid out by Johann Sebastian Bach, who is a fervent Apollic believer.
Popular dish: Chicken soup
Chicken soup is a popular dish in the nation because it helps purify thoughts and allow Sovarasmans to enjoy and critique music.
Sovarasma was first founded on the Buzzjack planet by a group of militias from the north aiming to build a nation based on music and sounds. They successfully occupied a portion of the land in the north. Since then, they have been developing technology alongside music, when Snotra developed slipspace engine. The technology is further improved and Sovarasma is able to teleport themselves to another solar system. In another words, expect Sovarasma in other forum contests!

Love the rebrand!
Welcome from Zanmatony!
Thanks for all the welcomes and leww for the compliment! <3
Do people not realise this is just a Why So Sirius rebrand
Liking the sound of the new name more
BJSC 132: LANKS, Yorke - KING
Sovarasma has chosen "KING" to represent the nation for the first time under this country name. I personally really like the instrumentation of this song. The synths have a special sounding and there are a lot of changes and variations with the use of synths. The best part of this song is how it builds up towards a strong ending with the hard-dropping bass concluding the chorus. I hope you love this song as much as I do!
Greetings Sovarasma!
Great to be in another music contest with you as I’ve enjoyed your output in the recent Pop Forum Song Contest and on various Club Bizarre contests too, and now I’m here to listen to this entry which I have on play now, and it’s definitely sending some vibes, quite mellow and laid back music and I am always up for a bit of Radiohead and I get Thom Yorke vibes from this (mostly his solo stuff), and that’s not a bad thing.
Great effort and may your nation have a great contest! Sending love from Zanmatony!
It was a big disappointment in the end however. I really enjoyed this song and had it as the best song of 2020 but sadly it didn't appeal to a lot of people. My huge thanks goes to Niceland for giving us 12 points, which is surely a recognition at least from someone!
I'm pondering whether in the next edition I should go pop or once again indie/alternative. I am inclined to choosing the latter because I think this genre needs some representation in the contest.
Would anyone want a national selection for the next edition though? If so, I can list 3-4 entries here next Thursday, all in different styles, so that you guys can give some advice to help put Sovarasma to the finals!
On another note, here is the latest single of LANKS! It is a lot more stripped, while it retains the moody feeling. Great song there!
BJSC 133 potentials
Hello all! I know there is not a lot of interest in this but if you could spare some time in giving some advice to the following 4 potential entries, that'd be really great!
Marlhy - Good Die Young
Following Bre's advice to go pop without any regrets, this sounds to me like a "safe" pop song for BJSC? At least it has a memorable chorus, special instrumentation, with a hint of Ina Wroldsen's "Pale Horses". Marlhy wrote the song to bid farewell to the year of pain that is 2020, and welcome 2021 with hope that things will soon brighten up.
YONAKA - Seize the Power
This is an empowering song and I really love the rock element in this song. The drop in the second chorus is probably one of the hardest drops I've ever heard for a while. I love the instrumentation and the melody. YONAKA quoted the song to be "a new chapter for us" and wanted us "to get lost in a feeling of strength and empowerment when listening to this song."
Lilith Czar - King
This is another empowering song and it is more rock than the previous one. Once again there goes another memorable melody and the instrumentation is very strong throughout the song. The message of the song is even more important. Formerly Juliet Simms, she spent a lot of years discovering herself and Lilith Czar is her discovery, which represents "ultimate female strength and outspokenness and rebellion and going against the norm." King is her first statement under this new name, and it blends elements of pop and rock.
Jades Goudreault - nuh uh
Ending this selection is probably one of the catchiest songs recently. The chorus is memorable with a special vocal style, with an interesting combination of chord progression and instrumentation thereafter in the drop. It is very short but it packs a big punch.
I would appreciate some feedback and hopefully I can choose wisely which might bring Sovarasma their first ever qualification to the finals!
Greetings Savarasma from Zanmatony!
I might have only just returned to BJSC, so might not have the best placed advice for what might qualify, but I have taken the time to listen to your four potentials here, and this was my thoughts;
Personally I felt that the strongest song of the four you posted was by Lilith Czar. I had not heard any of these songs beforehand, so all of this was an immediate first impression. I felt like what this song offered was bold, empowering and the sort of entry I could see in a final of BJSC. I can already imagine the types of countries that would get behind it and award it points provided they are in the same Semi final as you!
The song by Jades Goudreault was possibly the weakest of the selection for me, and I probably wouldn’t give it points, it just didn’t grab me as I was hoping it would. But that’s just me, someone else might find it catch like you did.
Marlhy was a nice discovery too, and one that I might give points to depending on what else was available in the Semi Final, but it sounded decent and ticked the box for a pop entry for sure.
And your last potential by YONAKA I feel would be better suited to a different contest like Unknown Pleasures.
Please note, this is all just the opinion of one person, please continue to receive more feedback before making your final decision!
YONAKA are bordering on being too well known for BJSC let alone Unknown Pleasures (it's a quite good song but they have been sent enough times already so my vote based on that alone is anything but that xx)
ooh that's the same Marlhy from React!
Sovarasma has decided to send YONAKA!
After long and careful thoughts about deciding which song to send, thanks to feedback from awardinary and Bre, it is a super difficult to decision but I've decided to go for YONAKA which sounds unique and is structured unconventionally. Huge commiserations for the other 3 songs and I wish I could send more than 1 entry in an edition!
About YONAKA
Brighton-based band YONAKA is a four-piece band comprised of vocalist Theresa Jarvis, bassist Alex Crosby, drummer Rob Mason and guitarist George Werbrouck-Edwards. They formed in 2014 and were known for producing alternative rock. Their first album Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow was released in 31 May 2019, reaching a peak of 38th position in the UK Official Albums Chart. They released several EPs prior.
About Seize The Power
Seize The Power was self-produced by YONAKA and it is the first single since their 2-year hiatus. They said that the song marks "a new chapter" for them and hoped that we would "get lost in a feeling of strength and empowerment when listening to this song". The song starts off with occasional strong bass beats and a piano, overlain by talking vocals from Theresa Jarvis. This is then followed by an intimate buildup from the singing vocals but then transcends into second verse with more instrumentation than the first verse this time round. The second buildup is stronger that leads to a climax and a big drop of instrumental at the end. I hope that you will enjoy this song as much as I do!
Greetings again Sovarasma!
So you went with YONAKA then! I hope it can do well for you, I noticed we are in the same Semi Final, let’s hope we can each qualify with our entries!
Asking for feedback and proceeding to confirm the one that the people replying told you not to send
Nonetheless, this is a good entry and I hope it'll do well for you, I just think we've kind of had our share of YONAKA entries now lel
Hello leader of Sovarasma.
I really like your entry, it sounds very quirky and the rap verse is very catchy in it.
By the way, leader of Sovarasma, did you get the Covid vaccine? Did it uh, sting?
Sadly YONAKA cannot replicate the grandson magic with the name recognition on Buzzjack, obviously not helped with me misreading people's feedback That being said, 49 points is really great for us and a 12 pointer!
Not sure if I will be doing another feedback session for the next BJSC but it seems I will be going pop next edition, and a strong contender atm (I am really not sure how it will go down to BJSC though). If I do another feedback session, I will make very very sure that I will consider your feedback very seriously and I will not misread any messages.
Attached is YONAKA's latest single, enjoy!
Currently I'm pretty much set about which song to send in BJSC 134. That being said there are also 2 other songs which I am considering which could also work for Sovarasma -- one song which is very unpredictable and combines rock with opera, another song which is very pop but I love the atmosphere!
If y'all are interested, I could post all the three songs here.
I would like to know what potentials Sovarasma have planned for BJSC 134!
BJSC 134 potentials
Thanks to Wardy for showing interest, here I present you the 3 potentials I have for the BJSC 134, though I'm leaning on the first potential below!
Andreas Moss - Real Love
This song has a catchy hook and the instrumentation in the chorus is pretty strong. This is also an emotional song and relates a lot for me. The singer has a very interesting background too! He was born in a Christian family and began his career as a Christian artist, and actually doing fairly well! However, he faced internal struggles about his sexuality and stopped producing Christian music then, where he switched to producing pop music instead. "Real Love" was written during the moment when Andreas Moss "felt completely lost, ever in the pursuit of trying to find what true love really was and what it really meant".
Isyana Sarasvati - IL SOGNO
Indonesian Isyana Sarasvati was named "2016 Best Asian Artist Indonesia, 2017 Best Composer of the Year" by MAMA Awards, and she composed all her songs by herself. This song is very unique with the incorporation of opera into metal music, somewhat similar to Kate Miller-Heidke blending opera into pop music. The song captures my attention from start to finish and has a strong melody too!
KADEBOSTANY ft. Valeria Stoica - Take Me To The Moon
Take Me To The Moon is a relaxing song that oozes style. This is wonderfully produced pop music and the atmosphere it creates is second-to-none. It also comes to my attention that this song was featured on Groot's latest video on his picks of the most recent song so I suppose this also has an appeal to some people. This song takes inspiration from the ongoing pandemic: "about someone who wants to escape planet Earth for a better world". The lyrics also take inspiration from David Bowie's SPACE ODDITY.
Hey again, so I took a listen to those three songs, and I also think you should go with the first option of Andreas Moss. I liked it more than the other two and I think it has the best chance of qualifying. The second best option here I feel is KADEBOSTANY, very chilled and nice vibes, but not a strong entry and would probably DNQ. I don’t get the other song though, Isyana Sarasvati, I don’t really understand the genre... but I know someone who would likely give you maximum points for it... Iz!
Sovarasma has decided to send Andreas Moss!
Thanks Wardy for the feedback once again! After very careful consideration and lots of self-doubts on tons of potentials that I have in mind, Real Love is the entry as I think this song has combined pop and ballad well, and the vocals are amazing too.
About Andreas Moss
Andreas Moss was born in a Christian family and was struggling with his queerness when he was growing up. He was often bullied in church and hated himself even during his time as a Christian artist under the name of Jonathan Thulin. He then quitted making Christian music and dove into the pop music scene, embracing his identity and toured with notable artists such as Andy Grammar. His music was also inspired by Black musicians like Beyoncé, which means he makes a wide variety of genre of music.
About Real Love
Real Love was composed during the time when Andreas felt completely lost and in pursuit of the meaning of true love. Co-written with Sam Tinnesz and Joseph Williams, the song focuses on his vocal work, especially towards the end. The song is a mix of several different genres, with "the beat-heavy bounce of R&B, the digital sweep of EDM, and the sparkling sonics of contemporary pop music". I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do!
Sadly DNQ streak has extended to 4 contests with no qualifiers so far this year. We are still waiting for that song but here is a new song from Andreas Moss! Enjoy!
As for next edition, Sovarasma has already decided their next entry. It is going to sound quite avant-garde but Buzzjack-friendly from what I observe.
Oops actually have an EDM banger that I just discovered I will save this one for BJSC 136, hoping it won't be used for BJSC 135!
Sovarasma has decided to send Promis3
*EPILEPSY WARNING*
I've decided to break the pre-selection curse to bolster our qualification chances. I think this song is quite unique but the hardcore tune might appeal to BJSC contestants me thinks.
About Promis3
Promis3 is a queer Belgian duo Andras Vleminckx & Brent Dielen. They are known for hyperpop. Their music is inspired by gaming soundtracks, anime, trance, dubstep, Europop etc.
About Future Funeral
Future Funeral was self-released under their own label Simulated Agency. They claimed the song to be a "forward approach" with "a differential visual universe that meld reality with parallel universes." Moreover, the song is a message to everyone who struggles from mental health, citing drugs not being the main support that people can offer. I particularly like the drop in this song, which is haunting and unexpected. The ending is also quite sensual, and I hope this will stand out for you in a good way!
Finally qualified!
I'd like to thank all who voted for Promis3 so far in the semi-final! I hope to see you all in the final and finish in the top 20 for the first time!
Next entry is decided and any potentials would be left to the August's contest!
BJFest potentials
After a very successful BJSC 135, thanks to votes from 22 countries, we are returning to national selection to select our entry to BJFest. I will set the deadline to tomorrow noon (or earlier) as spaces are very limited! Here are 3 potential songs (also celebrating Pride Month, happy Pride Month everyone!) we would like to send:
FLAVIA - Ripe
This song holds a lot of personality and the lyrics are juicy as well. Instrumentation is unique and the hook is catchy. This song is probably my most favourite out of 3, but not by much! FLAVIA when describing the song, "It’s a celebratory song about knowing your worth, aka “feelin’ yourself” in all your glory. It’s fun and freaky and playful and absurd.”
Andrea Di Giovanni - Crown
This song is part of the album Rebel released by Andrea Di Giovanni earlier this year. I like the melody and the chorus is catchy too. The album is "a journey through Andrea’s emotions and focuses on their relationship with friends, romance and the world at large."
Metteson - Convince Me
This song is quite different from the 2 tracks above with it being more moody and mellow. However, the instrumentation catches my attention, particularly the buildup and the drop. This track is described "a slice of bliss, a moment of pure euphoria".
I hope you enjoy all 3 songs here! Let me know your opinions and I hope to choose the song that you all like!
Sovarasma has decided to send FLAVIA
I've decided to send FLAVIA. Ripe almost made it to the potentials list of BJSC 134 and I would have sent Ripe to that contest instead of Real Love. I think BJFest is a great opportunity to show the experimental side of Sovarasma, and hope it is going to pay off!
About FLAVIA
FLAVIA is a singer-songwriter and producer, with her music about "life, love and sexuality". Pink Things Magazine writes, "FLAVIA is an activist advocating for social issues such as LGBTQ+ equality, and creating community for other female pop artists in Los Angeles." She won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting competition for her song, Expectations, and was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest. She grew up in Ireland, Italy, and later in Los Angeles in the US.
About Ripe
Ripe is about "liking someone and get lost in their world, their taste, their smell". It starts with an excerpt from the chorus to draw people's attention with a bit of rap in the verses and the iconic pre-chorus. There are a lot of synths used in this song and the beat is strong. I would describe this song as a mix between Why So Sirius's previous entry Loose Change and more recent Seize the Power.
To Andra Chasen!
FLAVIA continued the run of good form for Sovarasma! Here is Switch for you all to enjoy!! Meanwhile, vote for Ripe during Andra Chasen!
Sovarasma has decided to send Matisse & Sadko and Alex Aris
I've decided to do something different this edition. I'm going to send progressive trance! I'm very excited to see how it will fare. Interesting backstory: I discovered this song not from the major labels (e.g. Armada etc.) but in a New Music Friday playlist, which rarely features progressive trance. Will this song bring Sovarasma her first consecutive qualification?
About Matisse & Sadko
Matisse & Sadko is a Russian DJ and production duo from St. Petersburg. They are known to collaborate with Martin Garrix and are considered the frontrunners of Progressive House genre. Although this track is regarded Progressive Trance, it has some elements from Progressive House, including a big drop at the end!
About Alex Aris
Alex Aris is part of the duo Max Elto, formerly known as Taped Rai. They are known to be the featured vocals in a couple of EDM tracks. They decided to go separate ways to gain more popularity individually, before coming back as a duo.
About Heal Me
Matisse & Sadko have been experimenting with different sounds since the onset of the pandemic. "Heal Me" is a track that goes out of the comfort zone, and probably result in a side project.
I love this…such a standout and I’m glad we’re in the same semi so I can fully support it
HYPE.
First consecutive qualification!
Sovarasma has achieved her first consecutive qualification! Thanks everyone for your support to Heal Me. Here is the same combo but a newer song!
As for next edition, I originally had a plan B if Monogamy gets picked this edition with an equally well-produced and catchy pop song, but on second thoughts I am probably going to send an instrumental track is going to wow you all.
EDIT: Decided to send the anthem of the year! Get excited!!
Sovarasma has decided to send BATHSHEBA
Originally scheduled to be sent in September and have an artist pre-selection done for that month's edition, BATHSHEBA will represent Sovarasma in BJSC 137. Sovarasma decided to try pop again after failing to qualify with Andrea Moss. Will she succeed this time round?
About BATHSHEBA
BATHSHEBA is a Danish singer with Nigerian roots. Her lyrics are described as "personal", and "often have a darker twist with themes such as neglect and self-doubt." She is considered a rising star in the Danish pop industry.
About Fighting for Your Love
Fighting for Your Love is a song about BATHSHEBA's father neglect on BATHSHEBA throughout her childhood. She grew up to be a strong woman despite being let down by her loved ones. In the music video, she brought the message of family violence or neglect using the power and unity of children. I think this is an empowering pop song which has a deep message and I hope you all enjoy!
Just realised the song I sent to BJFest VI has an official video!
DNQ again
Sadly Sovarasma tried pop again and it did not pay off. I probably will not try pop for a while. Here is an earlier single of BATHSHEBA!
I'm gutted. One of my instant faves of this month! Would have been an easy 12 for me.
Really surprised BATHSHEBA didn't qualify! One of the strongest pop tracks of the semi and I thought it'd go down really well with the rest of the voters. Shame
It's Giolì & Assia for Sovarasma!
Going for an entry that is more instant and more dancey, Sovarasma goes for the rising stars Giolì & Assia. Will they send Sovarasma back to the final?
About Giolì & Assia
Giolì & Assia are a young Italian duo (who are also a couple) of producers, singers, songwriters, multi-instrumentalists etc. They started in 2017 and released "Something Special" with Spinnin' Records that granted them a residence place in Ibiza. Their live show #DiesisLive garnered more than six million views and their popularity has been on a meteoric rise.
About Bebe
Contrary to what I thought, this song is actually in Spanish. They incorporate the sensual Spanish lyrics to craft a stunning soundscape in this song, with the music video shot in Italy.I think I found the perfect entry for Sovarasma in BJSC 139
I love Giolì & Assia...I was a big fan of 'Hands On Me' earlier this year (charted in my Top 10 for few weeks).
This is also pretty decent and hopefully it should do well
And not so many foreign language songs in this edition (I think only three or four including mine)!!!
Glad you loved the artist and the song! It is a risk sending a song in foreign language to this contest but I think this is actually the highlight of the song. I hope it will do well
Another DNQ
Sadly it's another DNQ for Sovarasma Back to the drawing board!
Next entry for BJSC 139 will be my reaction to the increasing use of car alarms in BJSC entries. Joking aside, it has a bombastic final drop that will blow your mind!
The HoD has officially lost their mind!
Following an alarming rise of the use of alarms (not just car alarms) in BJSC, the Sovarasman HoD has had enough and has gone insane, sending this drop-heavy song by Party Favor and Elohim to celebrate Halloween. Be very scared!
About Party Favor
Party Favor is the stage name of American DJ and producer Dylan Ragland. His most famous song is perhaps Circle Up featuring Bipolar Sunshine, which appeared in the Coca-Cola Energy launch commercial and on the eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 soundtrack.
About Elohim
Elohim is no stranger to BJSC. In fact, I was first introduced to her a few years ago with Sensations. She is an expert in electropop. One of her EPs deals heavily with themes of mental illness, with all the proceedings going towards various mental health initiatives.
About Losing My Mind
When I first heard this song, I immediately thought, "This is the hit!" The beginning draws the attention immediately with the intelligent use of exhale sounds. I quite like the voice alteration here as it showcases the versatility of Elohim's vocals. Obviously, I must draw your attention to the drops in this song, especially the last drop, where it hits really hard and is a huge highlight of the entire song!
“I feel like I’m constantly losing my mind,” Elohim says. “Questioning what’s real. Or if anything really is.”
“I want ‘Losing My Mind’ to feel sonically as though you are driving through the apocalypse, like Mad Max,” Party Favor says. “Lyrically, ‘Losing My Mind’ is a play on how dance music gets into our heads and creates this endless cycle.”
Back in the finals again!
Y'all think there is a reference to Gesaffelstein music so let me just drop one of his singles randomly x
Congrats Sovarasma! Deserved
I’ve been following Elohim since I heard Half Love from her, no surprise this song is a bop
Hate or Glory finished 2nd back in the day which is why a few of us picked up on the similarity
but this does stand out well on its own too so hopefully that's a sign this entry of yours will be a hit
CANCEL BJSC 140 WE'RE SO GONNA WIN WITH THIS
obviously not the entry for bjsc 140 for sovarasma don't worry x
why so sirius is drooling
Provinces of Sovarasma announced!
Aoede is pleased to announce the administrative regions of Sovarasma! We have 15 provinces plus 1 autonomous region in Sovarasma. We are unable to completely take over the country as Why So Sirius reign proves to be too resilient and are hiding behind the mountains to the south. As a result, we designate the region as an autonomous region.
The capital Agerson is situated at the delta of Tillcord River, home to 4.5 million people. The second most populous city is Melogi, home to 3 million people. The third most populous city is Yumye, home to 2 million people. The Snotra Space Station (named after the slipspace engine inventor Snotra) is located in Plusiask Province, where flights to other Sovarasman space colonies are provided.
Our country is welcome to establish tighter diplomatic relations with other countries, including visa exemptions and free university tuition fees! In the meantime, our entrants are ready to board the Bøtanikkä Airways plane at Livinforge Airport, just 75 km south of the capital city Agerson.
Huge credits to Jafet for producing this detailed and professional map!
Happy to help! Also wanted to note that your previous (SHOCK) non-qualifier BATHSHEBA has managed to peak at No. 7 in my personal chart. Really don't understand how that didn't qualify. Excited to see what you've got to offer for BJSC 140!
Also totally forgot that Heal Me was your entry as well! It's been a very long running hit for me with 17 weeks in the Top 200 peaking at No. 10 So you actually have two singles in my top 40 right now
End the year on a high!
Last edition saw Sovarasma qualifying again after 2 DNQs in a row, and the HoD is determined to bring another qualification to Sovarasma to wrap up a somewhat better latter half of the year!
About Tale Of Us
Based in Berlin, Tale Of Us consists of the duo Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri, originated from Milan. They were named one of the top 100 alternative DJs in 2018 by DJ Mag.
About Pete Tong
Pete Tong is an English DJ that works for BBC Radio 1. The name comes from the phrase "It's all gone Pete Tong", a humorous saying of "it's all gone a bit wrong". His compilation album Classic House is his first no. 1 album in the UK Albums Chart, earning a Gold certification.
About Jules Buckley
Jules Buckley is an English composer, conductor and arranger. From 2020, he is Creative Artist-in-Residence with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and also presents the BBC Radio 3 programme Classical Fix. Most notably, he performed in The Proms with BBC Symphony Orchestra, featuring Moses Sumney, an artist I may consider sending in the future!
About Time
No pun intended, Time is perhaps well-known coming from Christopher Nolan's film Inception. The original piece is composed by Hans Zimmer. The piece uses 8 simple chords with a progression and different variations, akin to the modern Canon in D (this time the piano takes the tedious role instead of the cello).
Originally, Tale Of Us remixed this piece 4 years ago, but never released it. Pete Tong then picked up on the project and tidied up with higher-quality production. Speaking of why Pete Tong decided to take up the unpolished project, he said, "The guys had been experimenting with the original in their DJ sets which inspired us to collaborate on our own original version of this epic melancholic masterpiece.” Tale of Us then added, "These harmonies transcend time and space, we are excited and grateful to cover such a masterpiece."
If you haven't also noticed already, I've made myself a nice little banner for BJSC 140 and I will make one for every edition for Sovarasma!
Making 4 Q out of 6
Sovarasmans are ecstatic to know Pete Tong, Tale Of Us and Jules Buckley have secured another qualification for Sovarasma. Ever since the removal of national selections early in April, Sovarasma turned their fortunes around. I'm really over the moon when Sovarasma qualified! I have stayed in the semis in other contests this month but not in this one to make it a total loss in November. I would like to thank all of you for voting for Time in semi-final 2 and breaking the semi-final 2 curse for Sovarasma!
Here is the original version of Time which I think is one hell of a piece composed by Hans Zimmer, and has left a huge legacy for movie soundtracks.
For BJSC 141, Sovarasma has decided to go a bit risky, going for a long slow song, but extraordinary and spectacular. When I first heard this song, they give me goosebumps. The song will also fit into the cold winter theme in January. Sovarasma may tease the location that their music video is going to be captured in the next few after BJSC 140!
My top 10 according to Spotify:
1. LANKS, Yorke - KING
2. Mako - Roller Coaster
3. Barbara Pravi - Voila
4. Self Esteem - Prioritise Pleasure
5. Emilie Adams - Monogamy
6. Alice Merton - Vertigo
7. Primo - Do It Again
8. Everyone You Know - Charlie
9. MICHAELA - Tears in My Eyes
10. Gjon's Tears - Tout l'univers
1, 5, 7, 8, 9 all appeared on BJSC this year, and Do It Again is a huge discovery for me from Mulgracia in BJSC
New peak for Sovarasma
The citizens of Sovarasma are absolutely overjoyed to hear about their first top 10 placing in the contest. We would like to thank Danæviia especially for 18 points and a position in the nation's top 40 chart. Thanks to Aeroche for 15 points, Zanmatony and Aelandor for 13 points and Eastovka and Kathaldazia for 12 points.
What a turnaround of events this year! Sovarasma took over Why So Sirius earlier this year due to unrest partially fueled by lacklustre results in BJSC. They first sent KING (which is my most favourite song of 2020) which ended as the worst performing song this year. However, they grew and came close, eventually just missing out qualification 2 editions after. Sovarasma then announced their selection would go internal and sent Promis3 which gave the nation their second best result this year. This is proof that going by the Switzerland route in Eurovision works! After that, they scored 4 out of 6 qualifications, with Time ending the year on a high with a top 10 finish.
We would like to thank every single nation this year for support through pointing us and giving us advice for song selections. We hope to deliver better songs next year and the tracks sent will put a lot of emphasis to the overall soundscape and intense sound production, so we will definitely be sending instrumentals again next year.
Preparations for BJSC 141 are underway and the crew have started filming their music video for BJSC 141 in Sovarasma. Here is a sneak peek of the location of the filming of the music video for BJSC 141:
Extra points if you could get which track I'm sending in BJSC 141 (obviously revealed during the semis)!
FLØRE explores the world with a haunting song
Christmas is around the corner and is a delightful festival to celebrate. However, we want to use this moment to revisit the purpose of life and how some other people think of the festival.
About FLØRE
FLØRE is a German artist who is known for her dark pop songs. Her songs are inspired by "the darkness of growing up, the beautifully broken and the feeling of what it must be like when your life begins". Her music is notably produced entirely on GarageBand but she is able to demonstrate a wide variety of sounds despite limited tools.
About Another year like that and we'd all be dead
Another year like that and we'd all be dead is a personal anecdote. The song explores the meaning of life and growing up, the emotions of losing love, and what living with depression is. As we survive for another day, the commentary says that this is a day closer to death, which is overwhelming yet beautifully sweet, otherwise "we'd all be dead by now". The song aims to capture the "calm inside of a storm" feeling with the lyrics and instrumentation.
We present you the Lofoten Islands
Fitting with the holiday theme, Lofoten Islands is an astonishingly beautiful place to visit during winter. This is the place where the music video was filmed. As Google says:
"Lofoten is an archipelago in Norway. Its known for its dramatic scenery, with peaks like the Svolværgeita pinnacle jutting up into the sky. Himmeltindan Mountain sits on Vestvågøya Island. The nearby Lofotr Viking Museum features a Viking longhouse reconstruction. Cycle routes cover the islands, passing through fishing villages like Henningsvær, which has colorful buildings lining its waterways."
We join with the earth and with each other
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Beautiful melody and instrumentation coupled with the lush vocals of Helene Bøksle, this song is amongst the best song of 2021 in my opinion and I hope you will find the song amazing as well.
About Helene Bøksle
Helene Bøksle is a Norwegian singer and actress known for mixing Norwegian folk music with pop music. She attempted to represent Norway in Eurovision 2011 which qualified to the final of the competition.
About Sindre Hotvedt
Sindre Hotvedt is a Norwegian film composer who is known to compose for the TRIO TV series. Not much is known about him.
About Vega
Vega is a slow song but utilises the slow tempo to demonstrate the beauty of harmony, melody, instrumentation and vocals. The lyrics are inspired by an old prayer which was created for the first Environmental Sabbath at the UN in 1990. They talk about how we as humans should be united with the Earth and should protect her rather than damage her for economic benefits.
Also huge thanks to Jafet for the graphic
Thank you for visiting Lofoten Islands
We hope you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful scenery there! Chuffed to see my second most favourite song in 2021 qualify!
Hint for our next entry in BJSC 142
Discover the Tatra Mountains
The Tatra Mountains is located at the Slovakian-Polish border. They are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. The Tatras are included in UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves. You can enjoy stunning views from the Tatras via the labeled trail -- Rysy. The Tatras are home to more than 2000 plant species and 600 animal species. Perhaps the most well-known animal limited to the Tatras is the Tatra chamois.
The cover of the album EP1 in which the track is included takes a snapshot of the gorgeous Tatra Mountains in winter, taken by SARAPATA's dad with Zenit in the 1980s. I can't recommend highly enough to have a visit to this stunning mountain range if you are on holidays!
Purely instrumental
As we will have a listenthrough soon, some of you will be very excited about the sound of this song which includes a few seconds of resonant car alarm. Nevertheless, this track is aimed to give you an euphoric feeling, and that is exactly what the track tries to bring forward. This is also the vetoed entry for the latest Club Bizarre edition.
About SARAPATA
From the YouTube bio translated from Polish:
"SARAPATA is an electronic duo of brothers Michał and Mateusz, Krakow producers and musicians who work with recognized Polish artists on a daily basis. They combine many extremes, but also experiences gained at different poles of a musical journey. They learned the love of harmony from accompanying the band Lor or Paulina Przybysz and from co-creating their own SALK formation in the past. The wording of the SARAPATA project is the result of many factors. On the one hand, a baggage of experiences, on the other hand, inspirations closest to their hearts, and on the third, their own path, which they have been following for years. The brotherly vision of electronic music is devoid of the austerity and patterns that have dominated the contemporary scene, making it painfully secondary and sterile. Contrary to the SARAPATA trends, they reveal to the audience a full, colorful and rich sound, and most importantly - a sound that does not allow you to stand still."
About Jakub Zytecki
Jakub Zytecki is a progressive rock guitarist from Krakow. He is one of the co-founders of the band DispersE when he was a teenager. In one of his interviews, he mentioned, "I listen to music with some kind of a statement and message that’s different from just super technical stuff. I find that quite boring."
About Fikus
Fikus is part of the album EP1 by SARAPATA. The album is a tribute to their parents for supporting them making unusual life choices. Their parents are involved in this lovely music video, which is an illustration to their music. There are a couple of variations towards two main themes in this track, building up to a grand climax at the end. Jakub adds another layer to this blissful track with a gorgeous yet simple electric guitar solo in the bridge.
Thank you for visiting the Tatra Mountains
We hope the mountains give you a stunning view! The residents in Sovarasma are excited to see them qualify for 4 consecutive editions!
My next entry is going to be in Ukrainian entirely. The song showcases the beautiful culture of Ukraine and the fascinating music that it brings! Hope you will support the entry. We stand with Ukraine! 💙💛
wait HELP this song just clicked with me
Introducing Holosiivskyi National Nature Park
From Wikipedia:
Huge thank you!
Really wish Eria is safe and many thanks for supporting amazing Ukrainian music! Here I would like to share another Ukrainian song I discovered earlier which is really different from the song I sent and very dark. I like the usage of synths here and hope you will enjoy this as much as Mavka!
Next edition I am sending heavy metal! Here is a hint of what the entry is:
BREAKING NEWS: Sovarasman delegations have been kidnapped by Why So Sirius dissidents
At 11:00 Sovarasman Summer Time, the Longorama of Sovarasma (LRS) (Sovarasman state television) states a majority of the staff have not reported to work. Later, they realised their computers are hacked with the following quote:
Crisis averted!
The Sovarasman delegation has been saved following the abduction. It was allegedly carried out by Why So Sirius but after it was investigated by the police, the attack was done by a former employee of LRS. The former employee does not have any connection with the government of Why So Sirius. They were quoted saying:
In the fields of Western Ghats
The Western Ghats lies roughly parallel to the western coast of India. It is recognised as one of the eight biodiversity hotspots in the world, housing more than 10000 living species there. They were formed from the breakup of Gondwana that happened some 150 million years ago. This is where Aaj was filmed and you could enjoy the amazing view both from this short 4k video and the music video.
Be awed by Indian folk metal!
This catches my attention definitely. It also has a great structure that feature different instruments and vocals. I'm genuinely surprised at the shouting and the subsequent chorus melody which is full of energy. This is definitely a song for the summer and we rock on with vigour.
About Bloodywood
Bloodywood was founded in 2016 in New Delhi, India. They originally started as a parody band covering songs but later wrote original songs, citing influences from Linkin Park, Rage Against The Machine etc. Aaj is a song from their debut album Rakshak which already gained substantial public attention, amassing more than 1 million views on YouTube.
About Aaj
Aaj features several Indian instruments, most notably the tumbi at the beginning. You may notice the "Indian" flute used a lot in the piece but I suspect it's just a typical tin whistle. Nevertheless, it is still really iconic as flutes are rarely used in metal music. There are several vocal styles with typical rap at the beginning, followed by loud shouting, with the chorus being typical loud singing, ending with the bridge with soft female vocal. This song definitely takes you on a wild ride and has everything packed together neatly in an exhilarating song.
Speaking about the single, the band say: “Aaj is a song about the moment in time when you realise you have the strength to do what you have to do to become who you want to become. We all have our demons, our reasons to be stuck in a rut of harmful patterns and our fears of trying something new. This track is meant to act as a spark to light a fire within the listener to overcome all of that, it’s about the fearless pursuit of the next level for as long as your heart continues to beat.”
I hope you enjoy this high-energy song!
wow I didnt realise Indian folk metal was thing, only in BJSC eh!
sounded very intriguing from the five seconds I heard of it whilst preparing/skimming the spotify playlist.
And in Nuggets, where Bloodywood were sent and came 2nd a few years ago
*.*
This time, let's go for GOLD!
CHAL BADHE AAJ
Huge thank you for getting the ICONIC Aaj to qualify from semi-final 2! We hope you enjoy this amazing Indian folk metal song and maybe we could do well in the finals. I'm humbled to achieve a 6-edition qualification streak which is definitely a dream come true given my terrible record at the start. We are coming for the 50% qualification rate.
However,
Mass protests have erupted in multiple cities in Sovarasma following the absolutely tasteless robberies of Oslol, Seyetana and Trifoski. These 3 nations have scored high in Sovarasma televoting and they are not happy at the result. On a serious note, what on earth are these robberies huh?
Honestly, this song has been sticking inside my head for a week. Great entry and congrats for the 12th place!
Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm glad a couple of you enjoy the entry a lot. Hopefully I can keep on finding something quite iconic in the future. I'm pondering on my next entry still so it's possible it's either catchy French indie folk or interesting electronica, whichever you want to see!
Who needs an irl landmark when soundscape is already one?I'm here to grab all your points mwhahahahaha I came across this fantastic electronica track which grapples my attention with the interesting instrumentation and the consequential eccentric soundscape. The song definitely shows how epic synth sounds can get. I'm all for this marvel!
About Floating Points
Floating Points is an electronic music producer and DJ. He is the founder of Pluto Records and co-founder of Eglo Records. His music influence dates back to impressionism in classical music with composers like Claudio Debussy and Olivier Messiaen. He released three critically acclaimed albums Elaenia, Crush and Promises.
About Vocoder
Vocoder is definite typical of Floating Points previous tracks, especially the vocal chops. One comment about this song reads: "his beats went through the washing machine, coming out the other side with a squeaky-clean freshness that nobody was expecting." We stan washing machine music! The track flows through with different dynamics and intensity, and surely you won't notice 7 minutes have passed. I hope you enjoy this entry!
© Longorama of Sovarasma 2022
'Crush' by Floating Points is an absolutely fantastic album, I recommend you check it out if you haven't already x
(this song is great as well, I'm glad he's back to electronic music after the brief foray into classical with the 'Promises' album, I enjoyed that for what it was as well but he's definitely more standout in the electronic music field)
2022 is officially the best year for Sovarasma
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to every nation that has votes for Sovarasma to make this improbable achievement possible -- Sovarasma has officially beaten their national record of the most qualifications in a year and we are only half-way through the year. I cannot express in words how happy I am to achieve this feat! As usual, here is a recent single from Floating Points.
My next entry will leave all of you in awe. Many of you would ask whether this is Sovarasma at all. Y'all not ready for this gag!
We're slaying our way on Jupiterdonia's runway
We're serving fish for lunch today and a huge banger on the runway. Y'all need to be prepared for this gag and Madison Rose is here to slay! Very different from the last Madison Rose's entry, this is all about vigour and confidence.
Spilling tea on the runway
I love the power of this song. The vocal style is different and the flow is smooth. The instrumentation is fabulous, especially at the end with emphatic synths and accentuating vocal effects.
About the artist
Madison Rose is an Ohio-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter that has collaborated with a couple of EDM artists, as well as ventured into her solo career that has seen success so far with multiple tracks going viral on TikTok, including "ICONIC".
About the song
"ICONIC" is an upbeat bop that features Madison Rose's solely rapping. This is a short song but packed with a lot of iconic lines. "My life is a runway. Perfect, plastic, on display" as she raps before the onset of the emphatic chorus, "ICONIC" is bound to be an experience!
ooh if you get a chance listen to the rest of the album, there's so many gems
You've never seen anything quite like me. Bye queens xoxo
A long Q streak has come to an end, but at least it is a song I'm proud of sending and I have no regrets at all! Onto the next one b*tches and y'all aren't ready for a WINNER and I MEAN it!
Calling all DANCE lovers!
Sovarasma is determined to replicate the fantastic result of Time and so they have gone back to what they are good at -- electronica music! The soundscape of this track is phenomenal and I hope enjoy it!
About the artist
Michael Canitrot is a French electronic DJ and producer. He received an award from the Institut de France for his project, first to be receiving such honour. He also curated the runway sounds for several big fashion brands and also at the Cannes International Film Festival.
About the song
Oracle is part of the project Monument, which debutted at the Palais Royal. He performed the track at Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon. Oracle features lush synths and it builds up bit by bit to the big drop at the end, where he unleashes everything he could to capture your attention and melt within the soundscape.
Back to the final!
We are back in the final!!! After a shock NQ last edition, we are back with a bang! Next edition I'm going to send my oldest entry to date (I can see some viewers laughing at this comment ) but it is epic and I'm sure y'all will love the BIG DROP at the end!
Attached is the entry I'd love to send but would be vetoed instantly x
Pearl white cliffs
Now this is a speculation about where a part of the music video was filmed. Nevertheless, let me introduce you to the gorgeous Seven Sisters in Sussex. They are a series of white chalk sea cliffs on the English Channel coast. It looks really gorgeous!
GET READY FOR THE BIG DROP
This piece has been on my potential list for a really long time. It is my most favourite track in 2019. I really like the instrumentation and it steadily builds onto something really big in the end. I wish the afterdrop lasts a lot longer to prolong the experience but it is still an amazing composition nonetheless. This track connects to the next song immediately and you can hear the seamless transition from this video above.
About the artist
Askjell is a Norwegian record producer and songwriter. He is most well-known for producing songs for Sigrid and AURORA. He released his debut album everything will be ok earlier in June this year.
About the track
Autumn Autumn is the first single to be released from the EP To Be Loved. About the track, the producer answered: “If the music is just beautiful and the imagery is just beautiful, then there’s no tension.” And right is he! The music video is even more gorgeous, as it features Tin Gao in Sophia + Robert production.
I hope you enjoy this gripping piece!
We are through again!
Sovarasma continue their strong run of form in Hendinia, as they score the 7th qualification this year! I was a bit scared that I overhyped the drop when the listenthrough crowd had lukewarm reactions. In the end, I made it!
Next edition I will be sending something in another language. This song will be a mix of pop and indie, with lots of synths! The latter part has a bit of hip-hop influence as well. I hope this mixture of different genre elements will translate to wide appeal!
Italian excellence
I'm going for a different direction this edition. I'm serving Italian pop-hip-hop fusion realness. I love how varied this song is. The beat and the synths make the song memorable and catchy. Let's not forget about the BIG DROP after the second chorus, leading to a spectacular soundscape.
About the artists
FLAMINIA is an Italian singer from Turin. She grew up in a family of musicians and her music is inspired by jazz. Her first success comes from writing "Easy" in 2018 summer.
Yosh Whale is an Italian four-piece band. Their songs have a wide range of genres not limited to electronic, rock, RnB and soul. They won the Buscaglione Prize in 2018. Their pieces in Italian often reflect moods and mental states.
About the song
capo/volto (English translation: head/face) is about reflection of death. The song asks us how we get there, why we make targets for ourselves, and when we want to open a new chapter in life.
Worst performing song in herstory
Unfortunately capo/volto brought Sovarasma a nightmare result. The head of delegation is in total shock at the scenes unfolding. There will be interrogation as to how this catastrophe happened. Nevertheless, I have a great orchestral track to end the year. Hopefully this will save Sovarasma from another terrible result!
Attached is another amazing Italian ballad that was released not long ago, enjoy!
Ending the year with a heavy-hitting instrumental
This orchestral track is stunning. I was lost for words when I first heard it. The piano entrance sets the scene beautifully, then comes the cello and the violins which give the piece perspectives. It builds on majestically to a gorgeous climax. Thomas Bergersen's Wings for Ukraine might not have passed the veto for BJSC, but this piece is close to fully representing and capturing the emotions and the turmoil that the Ukrainians have to endure every single day during the Ukrainian invasion.
About the artist
Yaroslav Molochnyk was born in Lviv in 2001. He is a pianist and received numerous awards in international contests. He performed as a solo pianist with different orchestras in Poland and Ukraine. He also composes music, and The Victory of Truth is one of his latest works.
About the piece
Yaroslav wrote about the piece: "This composition was created in February. In a month when time was divided into before and after. Now more than half a year has passed, but unfortunately Ukraine is still suffering from russia's cynical attack. During this time, this composition was performed at many charity concerts in support of Ukraine, and as every time we performed, now I also want to dedicate it to the Ukrainian people, who are heroically defending and fighting for freedom, democratic values and truth. And the truth will always win!"
The video description also mentions ways to support Ukraine.
We're back in the finals!
A change-up in the style has done us a favour and we're through!!! Here I present another gripping song.
Stay tuned for a big announcement for Sovarasma after BJSC 150!!
Omgggg we stan Meekul Can It Rot playing two Sovarasman hits LIVE, Oracle and Time!!!
I didn't think it sounded like a big hit but still disappointed for you anyway - I'd heard the song once before and enjoyed it but hearing it in BJSC made it click more for sure.
I didn't realise that was meant to be an April Fool so you got me I guess ddd
please don't change your name back tho
The big energy serving this month
This is a huge standout!
Throwing my support behind Sovarasma to increase their number of hosted contests in 2023!
Omg HYPEEEE!!! Thanks for the amazing comments
You should have sent 'Be Free' x
Car alarm anthem to Q 🙏
Something tells me we aren’t yet done with the car alarm entries, or as I like to refer to Cameron’s apt description;
Omgggg tysm Wardy!
Car alarm entries will be back... once I find a good one x
Decided to test drive Sovarasma’s latest offering, and I’m glad I strapped myself in tightly for this one! This is a ride that every thrillseeker would love! Wait for those crazy drops though!! WOWWWW!
Sovarasma to open a theme park in 2024 please!
INB4 Bre declare the BIG DROP to be a FLOP DROP
I'm sorry this didn't make the final for you. I was in total awe as I watched the video! It's one of my favorite entries of yours, thanks for sending it!
Oh this is wonderful, sounds like the sort of thing I would have sent a few years back when Dobago were heavy on the string-based entries.
BROKE, BROKEN, BROKERED?

BJSC 161 entry reveal
Fat Dog "King of the Slugs" has been selected as the BJSC 161 entry for Sovarasma, ready to take the contest by storm.
Fat Dog is a group from South London, marked by their unique outfits and crazy sounds. "King of the Slugs" is their debut single and it has already garnered significant attention from the Sovarasman public. The song starts off with a menacing sound. The vocals are highly edited to suit the dark atmosphere. Then comes the heavy but catchy chorus which is surely going to make the song memorable. This song deviates from the usual song structure, as there is a long interlude before the song erupts into a frenzy in the second half. Strobe warning is issued for this song, particularly the latter half. Proceed with caution.

this is wonderfully bonkers
Sovarasma announces 3 days of national holiday
Following an unprecedented victory for Sovarasma in Buzzjack Song Contest, the president of Sovarasma, Canola, announced a national holiday of 3 days.
Fat Dog garnered international attention after an electric performance in Veronica, Harmonica. They performed the song "King of the Slugs" and set the stage alight. The bombastic performance has won the hearts of many, as evidenced by the broken 18s record in the grand final. The Sovarasman delegation would like to thank every single voting country for creating and witnessing this historic moment, that all the Sovarasman citizens will relish for a long time to come.
Longorama of Sovarasma (LRS) is currently in active discussions with Buzzjack Broadcasting Union (BBU) about the possibility of hosting BJSC 162. More news about BJSC 162 will be released in due course.

BJSC 162 entry reveal
Continuing Fat Dog's success, Sovarasma selects Grossstadtgeflüster, with their "Ich kündige"
Grossstadtgeflüster is an electropop band from Berlin. This song begins with the iconic line "Ich kündige", which translates to "I quit". Already, the main message is clear - we are fed up with unappreciated work. All the unscrupulous ways to make us stay will not work in the end. "Don't come at me with General Terms and Conditions. They're not valid, because I don't read them" as they say. The song builds up by adding more layers of instrumentation. The hard-hitting beat underpinning the song creates such a memorable hook that you will be stuck with the chorus for weeks or even month to come.

2/2 for Sovarasma so far this year irresistible x
This is the second best BJSC song that spams the casio keyboard orchestra hit sound I've heard this past 12 months after Dimension - DJ Turn It Up make of that what you will.
Another 3 days of holiday
The president of Sovarasma, Canola, announced another 3 days of national holiday following the unprecedented back-to-back win
Hammering the ground of Agerson with "Ich kündige", Grossstadtgeflüster made national headlines by becoming the 2nd Sovarasman act to win BJSC. This is also the 2nd consecutive win for Sovarasma, following Fat Dog's "King of the Slugs" which gave Sovarasma their first ever win.
The streets of Agerson erupted when the victory was announced. The Sovarasman delegation would like to thank all 28 nations who pointed for the iconic entry this month. Despite calls from Why So Sirius to ban Sovarasma from the contest, the general public are in agreement that Sovarasma is headed in the right direction.
Longorama of Sovarasma (LRS) spent about 25 million SoundBytes hosting BJSC 162 but the government has continued to fund the broadcaster for their hosting. This is expected to continue and talks are ongoing with Buzzjack Broadcasting Union about the possibility of BJSC 163. More news to follow.
Meanwhile, rewind the news last week:

BREAKING NEWS: Sovarasma withdraws from BJSC 164
Sovarasman head of delegation, Aoede, has announced Sovarasma will withdraw in BJSC 164. She explained the decision to withdraw is due to budget constraints, after splurging millions in hosting BJSC 162 and 163. The Longorama of Sovarasma (LRS) also announced they will use the funds reserved for BJSC 164 to buy new cars for LRS employees, and support a new season of Drag Race Sovarasma.

Happy April Fools!
Almost 4 hours late ddd (wouldn't have believed it anyway :') )
BREAKING NEWS: Why So Sirius behind hacking
The Sovarasman Head of Delegation, Aeode, reiterated that Sovarasma has no plans to withdraw in the near future. She is upset about the fake news that was spread yesterday. This incident was reported to the police yesterday. The cyber crime team has pointed the source of misinformation to be done by a successful hacking attempt by the government of Why So Sirius. The Sovarasman government has condemned such barbaric actions and will impose more sanctions to them shortly.
Meanwhile, stream and vote for Mark Sherry - For The Underground.

While we bid farewell to all the nations which travelled to Sovarasma in the last 2 months to participate in BJSC, let me know what you think!
BB Jury: The Mary Wallopers - The Blarney Stone
We review Sovarasma's entry for BJSC 164, The Mary Wallopers - The Blarney Stone, as they look to cement their top spot in YTD 2024.
"Parts of 'The Blarney Stone' feel like complete blarney, and I’m here for that. However, this song might just have the most underwhelming chorus I’ve ever heard in any song. What is supposed to be a big chunky stone turns out to be hollow inside. I want more blarney but instead I’m left feeling sober." - Cordelia (2.5/10)
"One would think Sovarasma chasing YTD No. 1 would push them into sending contenders every edition. But giving the worst produced song of the year? A muddy, messy, barely intelligible song with little appeal? It wasn’t the move to make, to put it lightly. It feels Sovarasma has completely lost the plot, and I’m not sure if they will even make top 30 at this rate." - Jerry (2/10)
"Look how far they made it! This song sounds promising and I'm glad Sovarasma is not afraid to take risks, even if they could end up crashing into pieces. I feel another top half finish COMING! They've been here before but they're going sky-high. I wonder if sending banger after banger has got them scared of flopping?" - Chelsea (9/10)
"We are finished as a country. And before anyone jumps on their high horse and go, ‘that's what a music hater would say’. I couldn't give two continental hoots what anybody is but I don't need to listen to 3 minutes of utter nonsense. Whatever hope LRS has of getting any one of us to pay a licence has certainly now, for me, gone out the window. I never listened to such rubbish in all my life. Now there will be a backlash, do I care? Not at all." - Rob (0/10)
"Enjoy the song, I hope it makes Aoede very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little country. Do they even know BJSC? I hope they take some lessons with Alexander Rybak, because they have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on." - Meriwether (4/10)

Revenge coming up next edition I PROMISE!!
Ain't fazed by a DNQ, non-voters are dead to me!
Sovarasma is back with a VENGEANCE, coming not just a qualification but a STATEMENT from last edition's shock horror.
Doechii teams up with JT to bring the mega banger "Alter Ego", representing Sovarasma in BJSC 165. Doechii was one of the hosts in BJSC 152, which is a contest co-hosted by Sovarasma and Summericia. She also previously represented Oslol with another banger "Crazy" which undeservedly DNQed. This time, they are not messing around and they are here to silence Buzzverse with an unforgettable tune and unabashed lyrics.
"Unfazed, unbothered, unf***witable, bitch, why bother?" as JT raps in the second verse, the song tells everyone to be whoever the f*** they want and not bother with unreasonable destructive criticisms from nobodys. Strut, vogue and sissy that walk!

Here's how my votes would've been presented:
Good evening Bøtanikkä! This is Elohim calling from Agerson
The untimely NQ last edition didn't faze us. The non-voters are dead to me! Anyways, thanks Bøtanikkä Airways for the seamless flight to our queens who DEVOUREDT x Before I lose my mind and get too high, these are the votes from the Sovarasman jury, with commiserations going to Bøtanikkä, Singerpurear and Elëdan:
Our 18 points go to the country who has been serving us lots of good food lately, this time with a Nordic epic, Danæviia!!
Good night and have a safe journey back home y'all x
My hertan skips a beat
Sovarasma is still bringing FUEGO into BJSC, with the folk rock entry "Hertan".
Wardruna is ready to stun us from Norway with the epic song "Hertan". The song revolves around the heart, from its beating sounds to the abstract nature of the most important organ in many living organisms. The use of viking instruments adds a touch of paganism to the song. It is an experience to behold!

Sovarasma is bringing dancehall to Neliönoir, destined to make the crowd go wild.
Alicaì Harley teams up with producer SHAYE to bring THE summer hit of the year, "I.Y.D.K."! As Alicaì Harley delivers her message in Jamaican patois, the sass in this song is surely going to make you strut down the runway, paired with bass-heavy beats typical in Jamaican dancehall genre. It's giving CONFIDENCE, it's giving IDGAF, it's giving WINNER!!

Dripping water maybe a nuisance, but Sovarasma got the DRIP
specialised video may be released x
Sovarasma sends their 2nd Cantonese entry, following the collaboration of Ivana Wong and Serrini.
N.Y.P.D. (南洋派對) is a rising indie rock band in Hong Kong, specialised in making relatable and catchy rock songs. This time, they wrote a song about the annoying nature of dripping water from the air conditioner, "冷氣機滴水". They employed a unique vocal style which is reminiscent of an angry person. The freeform, bold and rough instrumentation amplifies the frustration of the dripping water which has wetted clothes of their family members. The Sovarasman government would like to remind citizens to report neighbourhoods for their dripping air conditioners especially if complaints were not taken care of.
The full translation of the lyrics are provided below:
滴水之恩,當湧泉相報
The grace of a drop of water will be repaid with flowing streams.
冷氣機滴水呢,一於投訴!
For air conditioners dripping water, we COMPLAIN!!
老竇瞓唔到,我老母瞓唔到
My Dad can't sleep. My Mum can't sleep.
我又瞓唔到,我老婆瞓唔到
I can't sleep too. My wife can't sleep.
阿囡瞓唔到,我細佬瞓唔到
My daughter can't sleep. My younger brother can't sleep.
皆因佢每晚都喺度
All because of the dripping air conditioners -- every night they
滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴…
drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP!!!!
滴水之恩,當湧泉相報
The grace of a drop of water will be repaid with flowing streams.
冷氣機滴水呢,一於投訴!
For air conditioners dripping water, we COMPLAIN!!
佢係咁滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴…
They keep on drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP!!!!
滴水之恩,當湧泉相報
The grace of a drop of water will be repaid with flowing streams.
冷氣機滴水呢,一於投訴!
For air conditioners dripping water, we COMPLAIN!!
西裝濕撚晒,我件T恤濕撚晒
My suit is f***ing drenched. My T-shirt is f***ing soaked.
我條底褲濕撚晒,我對襪又濕撚晒
My underpants are f***ing wet. My socks are f***ing inundated.
我條褲濕撚晒,對鞋又濕撚晒
My shorts are dripping wet. My shoes are waterlogged.
皆因佢每晚都喺度
All because of the dripping air conditioners -- every night they
滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴…
drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP, DRIP!!!!
佢係咁滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴滴…
