I'm expecting Kathaldazia win but wouldn't be surprised at Altyr. That did sound very strong out of the pop songs this month. I think Jade and Cody could be top 5's potentially as well.

I'm predicting FARC, Aeroche, Jupiterdonia, FSR Rontvia to do well. I can never predict how the silent pop voters will vote but I'm guessing they'll vote for Hendinia and Altyr and they won't give Eliza Rose a single point

I think Kathaldazia is increasingly seeming like quite an inevitable winner (I've seen it popping up in quite a few personal charts now), actually heard 'B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)' on Radio 1 the other day and it is growing on me a little. I'd be lying if I said it's the song I want Kathaldazia to win with but I'd be down for them finally winning again after providing consistent bangers in the contest for a hot minute now.
This has been another contest of me just hoping my song would qualify and not really even thinking about how it will do in the final so I have no expectations, I guess it'd be cool to outdo Molchat Doma (so 33rd or higher), maybe I can root for 27th or 30th to fill in one of my few remaining unique positions.
Setting up my spreadsheet now so I should be back to adding up live after taking a month off from that last time. Occurred to me the other day that I never got around to posting my usual ramble about the results oops xx but I did double check the final results and everything was all correct

Good evening, thank you to Jupiterdonia for the hospitality, here are the final votes for BJSC 146 from Persephonia
It is our honour to give a surprisingly rare 18 to Séyetana for finally sending something less weeby sending an excellent post-punk adjacent melancholy banger, their first top marks from us in six and a half years since Nao Hiiragi in BJSC 81 and their 3rd gold from us to date (also including Goodbye Tomorrow from BJSC 75) in addition to 4 silvers and 1 bronze. 15 points go to another great high-energy electronic entry from FSR Rontvia - and hopefully a wider appealing one than another 27th placer - giving them their highest placement for us since Tina Guo got our 18 back in BJSC 93, and bringing their medal tally up to 3 golds, 2 silvers and 5 bronzes. Rounding out the medals is a song that was already a hit on Persephonian shores but still a great entry from N DNTN, serving some Aluna / PinkPantheress vibes and easily the best song we've heard to date from KUČKA. It's N DNTN's first medal from us since Doss got our 18 in BJSC 133 and brings them up to 5 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes. Beaverdonia are just short of the podium but still breathe new life into the psytrance formula with the elements of Celtic folk and throat singing, picking up 12 points which matches the highest we've ever given them in a final (previously achieved by atlantida project in BJSC 113). Pestolia complete the top 5 with 11 points for their Kate Bush esque tune which makes it 3 out of 4 finalists from them to date to land double figure pointage from us.
The biggest grower of the contest (not that we weren't already fans of it straight away) goes to Lotunia who get our 10 points with a gorgeous standout track coming out of Ghana (more African entries please following the quality of this and Ibibio Sound Machine). J-pop meets 90s alternative radio for Republic of Adonia in our 9 point slot, their highest for us since Ivorian Doll's 13 in BJSC 128. A banger from Dobago nets 8 points, just ahead of debut finalists Yobnedorica throwing us back to the 00s and nabbing 7 points from us on their first chance. Greenfroze complete the top 10, 6 points for another great leftfield Asian entry from them, Kenmochi Hidefumi bringing the manic energy on his production here that has been missing a bit from some of WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA's recent releases.
Completing our votes, Lookylion get a highest to date 5 points for their synthtastic track from the stub of Propaganda (surpassing the 4 points we gave to their debut entry from Babet in BJSC 128), 4 and 3 points go to a pair of European earworms from Land of DW and Jadakissnia respectively, Eastovka claim 2 points to finally get points from us for the first time after just missing out last contest, making it this time with a pretty off the wall Indonesian curiosity, and our mealworm point goes to the RÜFÜS DU SOL vibes from Aeroche.

18 Persephonia SadSvit - Nebo Our gold medal this month goes to close allies Persephonia! They overcame negativity from the Danæviian predictors to secure a final slot and we're so glad this was the case. We're pretty stunned that the delivery from their vocalist, born in 2004, is so scarily mature. But this is a great thing as they have the perfect voice for dark post-punk. We're always here for a bit of that sound - even in the summer months. The Ukranian language helps this to stand out even further. Bonus points for not one but two feline appearances in the video too.
15 Aeroche Abroad - Coffee Next up we have reliable hit-makers Aeroche clinching a silver medal! This was up my street from the word go but grew even further upon second listen - advancing from third favourite in the opposite semi to second favourite across both of them. I am a sucker for that dreamy RÜFÜS-esque sound and this emulates that style to perfection. We hope this cosy electronic entry can challenge for the win tonight.
13 Séyetana Goat Girl - Sad Cowboy Taking home bronze from the Jadakissnian people are Séyetana with this blinder of an entry <3 the title intrigued me and it seems that the sadness may be tied to losing a grip on reality, which makes for a really haunting listen - those vocals execute this depth just wonderfully. The genre-blending production is an audio feast too - especially when topped off with an unexpected outro that features pleasing dark, electronic influences. I hope this will be a dark horse!

Only four nations ever led: Summercia, Jadakissnia, Beaverdonia and Cor Lupus. I had to do a lot of finangling with the results to stop Cor Lupus leading for a lot of the rundown!
Cor Lupus and Aeroche picked up the highest number of votes, 33 and 34 respectively, but each only nabbed one 18. That has to be rare for a top 2 eh?!

Wow, fab result - 4th *.* and my second top five in three contests, I thought it sounded big but was brought back to earth when it was given a borderline Q prediction. But then the recent hype raised my hopes again! Never thought this mad track could be a top five though but very grateful for all the votes!

As I say, Kathaldazia trounced most of the field in terms of high points, picking up six 18s and four 15s, but was let down by only picking up 26 voters to the leaders' 34. However, it was a very spread out contest with nearly everyone scoring over 100 but not even all of the top 10 crossing 200. Its not every contest that 25th is only 50 points shy of the top 10!

congrats Cor Lupus, amazing to have a dance epic take the pole position again and with Aeroche and Kath completing the top three it has to be the strongest podium of the year to date.
very pleased with the 6th position for Danæviia this time making it our first top ten of the year (ta Quintessa and Summericia for the last minute big points)
shame we couldn’t have had Yehesi smash this month (how did that get left behind when just about all the other big energy dance did well?) but an otherwise great showing for my faves and me.

I had an inkling this would be the case. We can't win with the pop voters it seems </3 Very grateful for those high points. Thanks for the last place position! It’s a first time coming last and I don’t mind at all this time as it was a bonus to have qualified in the first place, and hopefully when we see the full scoreboard and semis it will be clear I narrowly qualified. But thank you to those who gave points this month, especially East Rukahavian for the 15!
Cody, I don’t begrudge you winning another contest; I just envy your talismanic ability to always pass up on a good song… until now when you won! I guess you can’t have any complaints this time, and I look forward to my first ever trip to the land of Cor Lupus very soon.

to Kath finally getting another podium finish even if not the winner so many predicted - to be honest I never really felt the 'landslide winner' vibes from it myself, I did think it was the most likely winner but never thought it'd be by that large a margin (although its recent appearances in a lot of personal charts was starting to make me more of a believer in that). A Kathaldazia win is still bound to happen one day I'm certain. Hope it'll be with a song I actually vote for xx
Fabulous to see 'Bicstan' finishing top 5 even if its brief lead was too good to be true and nice to see Jadakissnia up there too, even outdoing the result of 'Yo Quiero Bailar'! (I still like that one more but this is good too, Jade talented at picking out the retro Spanish europop bops x). Those two and Aeroche ended up being the only ones in the top 10 that I voted for so it's yet another month of me being largely out of touch, although Beaverdonia would have been a fourth if they didn't have a deduction (something something no one knew what the deadline was this is an outrage!!!) - Cor Lupus, Danæviia and Jupiterdonia were all in my commiserations too so it's not too bad a top 10 really.
Nice to see Yobnedorica just sneaking a top 20 with their first finalist, a little disappointed at Séyetana being as low as 21st though as that was a pretty clear 18 for me but I suppose it's still a fairly niche ish sound. Actually a lot of my faves (and myself) ending up in the 21-30 region so I choose to count that as the real top 10!! Also whaaat at KUČKA coming as low as 31st, I honestly would have earmarked that as a contender early on? (Admittedly I wasn't really keeping an eye on it during the results)

Thanks to any Pestolia voters, especially Wholune + Seyetana for your 18s (getting up to 13th in the leaderboards before immediately plummeting back down was quite the emotional rollercoaster ). Thanks for the entertaining hosting Joops! Enjoyed the theme and loved the presentation throughout. Congratulations Cor Lupus on the win! The song was on my commiseration list so it's not bad at all. Bicstan at number four is great to see and Danæviia at 6th is somewhat surprising but a good one at least! St. Burbia robbed of a top 10 position but glad the song finished at top half despite the bad rep. It's such a beautiful ballad that kinda reminds me of Cornelia Jakob's Hold Me Closer with the structure. The melody just conveys the emotions so well! Thelonia at fourth from last is the tasteless thing I've ever seen this edition. It's such a feel-good song and I just love how carefree it sounds like with the less technical vocal style and the grungy instrumentation. It just hits the right spot and suits me being messy atm lol. Don't even get me started on Hushkanukia flopping. Not sure how it didn't woo the pop bloc tbh! Greenfroze at 26th is also too low imo. It has a lot of personality and I love the loud instrumentation in the drop, which features interesting synths too.
Next edition I'm going for a proven artist to get back to the final, unless the mods decide to veto me thrice!

HOLY BALLS *.* I found this track through a SoundCloud recommended songs trawl while traveling with family in LA and I never thought my track was going to even challenge for the win, let alone take it overall! I'm really glad that it managed to capture people's hearts bc I was FLOORED when listening to the whole track. Thanks so much to everyone who gave it the super high points and especially to Roba for pushing me to the top position with their 18!
I'm surprised Kathaldazia didn't pull an "Easy Love" since it seemed like such an easy track to do it with given its mainstream impact! At least it came 3rd so it doesn't too bad Danaeviia and Aquafina making top 10 is also very welcome! Extremely confused as to how Yehesi/Hushkanukia/Klum Rep flopped so bad, definitely thought Yehesi and Hushkanukia were on track for another hit
not entirely sure what I'm going for next month, I had another dance beauty for if I didn't win but recent circumstances have made me want to consider K-pop again

My 18-pointer (Summericia 'Sirens') finishing 11th on a tiebreak is disappointing but still a good result for it all things considered. Would've liked a bit higher for 'Venom' and much higher for 'Disco', ah well.

Congratulations, Cody!! Nova Imperatrix might remains as my favorite entry here, but I can't be more proud of a festival progressive house (or big room wtv it is) winning BJSC. Who cares if people voted it because of the vocals? A festival progressive house song IS a festival progressive house song. Third Party performed at Tomorrowland mainstage 2 weeks ago (they also put "Joy" on their set) and I can't wait for Tomorrowland to publish the replay. Festival music never dies!

Yup, Bhangra would have as well.
Oof at Trifoski missing out by a 0.05 point margin Summericia having quite a big improvement from semi to final even accounting for the fact they had a deduction in the semi!

This doesn't affect anything important but it would be remiss of me not to correct that my points to Rolloland in the semi should be 3, not 5. (Suedeonia are then ahead of Rolloland on a tiebreak from having one 7 pointer). I quickly scanned the rest of those scoreboards to see if there were any other errors and everything else looks right apart from St. Burbia being down as giving 2 points to both Pestolia and D'yermak'er, that obviously doesn't affect anything that matters either but would also be good to have that corrected for future (eventual) stats thread stickler purposes if either you or Ben still have those votes saved x
edit: checked with Ben and it was meant to be 1 to D'yermak'er

My only veto to date was because of the artist (Run The Jewels) having an album that charted around #50 in the US
(To be fair RTJ were pretty huge on the Internet already at the time and have been even moreso since then, even having a UK top 10 album to their name now, but I thought at the time that wouldn't really figure much into the veto framework especially with BuzzJack not really being their demographic x)
