In all seriousness though I had a good feeling about my entry at first and had a moment of hype near the start of the contest but it does feel like that's faded a bit, hoping I can still at least get a top 20 here though. x

Welcome back to the Phoenix Nest at Terra Avium for the final results! The votes have been counted and verified and we have a winner that will be revealed over the next few hours, I hope we're all ready for what will be a very exciting evening with twists, turns and sky somersaults!

- 63/64 nations have voted, Frandoot was our only non-voter and they will unfortunately be banned from the next contest.

- Votes will be revealed in reverse order of receipt, to give those that voted at the start the privilege of potentially deciding the result for a change.

- Scoreboards will be every four votes, this is to make things a little quicker and keep suspense.

- Each participant's votes have been put in a message and will be represented by a member of the Avian community, we trust our allocations will please you.

- The scoreboard MAY have errors, I haven't cross checked intensely because my brain in fried after all this prep, but it will all be sorted out at the end unless there's a glaring error. I trust Bre will be on standby if we have any massive issues.

Greetings to our friends in Terra Avium, we are happy to be here for the first time for a BJSC final even if for longwinded and unlikely reasons x Here are the results of the Persephonian televote, accompanied by the longest rambling commentary we've felt motivated to type out for a little while

Caerfyrddia went into the voting process with the not insignificant advantage of their entry having already been a top 10 hit on the Persephonian charts in 2019, but the love for the Eurovision BDSM gods has not faded over the year and they predictably but gloriously scoop up our 18, the second time we've awarded top marks to the nation following an all-time fave entry from Ólafur Arnalds many moons ago in BJSC 54 (a 12 pointer as the max was at the time), and their third medal position finish for us in all also including one silver medal. Our silver this month also isn't technically a discovery but it may as well be one as the song did not make it to the Persephonian charts on release earlier this year but its appearance in BJSC is set to catapult it into our charts following this contest, the extra exposure proving it to be a big grower - this being Hendinia who return our very own alumnus Rico Nasty to the contest with a gectastic banger, landing Hendinia their highest points from us and first medal position since they got our 18 for Troll in BJSC 92, and their 6th medal position for us in total (3 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze). Rounding out the top 3 is a BJSC first UK drill banger from Republic of Adonia, picking up our 13 points for the second time this year (following Tommy Cash in BJSC 122) and their third medal position to date (their only better result from us remaining the max 18 given to KOTO in BJSC 112).

In a top end of our votes otherwise dominated by semi-final 2 songs, the only track from semi-final 1 to rank in our top 6 is Vülkyria with their part documentary part synthwave banger which lands 12 points, the most points we have ever given to them beating the 11 points they achieved with Grandtheft in BJSC 78 and matched with Luís Peixoto in BJSC 123 (however they did rank higher when claiming a silver medal, 10 points at the time, with Lushington in BJSC 63). 11 points go to a relentless banger from Trifoski which is surprisingly their first points from us since Patricia Taxxon in BJSC 121 and their highest points from us since also getting 11 for The Comet Is Coming in BJSC 113, their last higher scoring entry being 12 points to Iglooghost in BJSC 107. Also receiving points for the first time in a while - although in this case mostly because they've been absent from the contest entirely - we give a warm welcome back to Quintessa who pick up 10 points for a lovely Russian language track marking their first points from us since they got a full 18 with Weyes Blood in BJSC 115 (their penultimate qualifier before their hiatus). 9 points go to our final hosts Terra Avium (partially joining us in the Spanish bloc this month *.*), while Niceland's lovely synthpop offering matches their record points from us in getting 8 points, the same as Boston Manor in BJSC 124. Dystopia is clearly in at the moment and that's reflected in our 7 points to an apocalyptic banger from Danæviia. Rounding out our top 10 with 6 points is a lowkey but infectious indie-ish track from (of all countries) POPHub, our first points to them under their current name though they did make our votes twice back when they were known as Terra di Campioni, last appearing in our votes with 4 pointer Troye Sivan in BJSC 72 and before that earning their highest points and only medal position finish with 10 pointer Grum in BJSC 68.

A big grower, the Chris Malinchak-esque chill tune from Ojnoj picks up 5 points as they continue to have a surprisingly strong year among Persephonian voters, this being their third time in our votes this year in addition to two other very narrow misses. We're happy to be able to give points first time out to our latest debuting nation Lookylion serving a strong slice of electropop and picking up 4 points. An almost equally strong electropop track from Elëdan comes in just behind on 3 points, their first points from us since BJSC 114 (though that was of course also the last time they qualified, we have voted for all of Elëdan's last 8 qualifiers and in fact this is the first of those 8 to fall short of 10 points, still good tho xx). FARC's auto-qualifier sneaks its way in at 2 points ending an even longer drought of points from us (and this without being absent or DNQing in all the intervening contests) - their last entry to appear in our votes was Rein picking up 6 points in BJSC 112. Our votes are finally rounded out by a mealworm point to an archival pick from Fljótavík.

Greetings BJSC! The great nation of Harmonica is testing a change in its vote presentation, as their broadcaster wishes to keep record of their top 20 from each contest rather than the top 15. So you'll see five commiserations, and we apologize for those five for not receiving points, but alas it was a strong final!

Our 18 points go to Oslol with the amazing 'LOVE SUX' - a definite contender for best BJSC entry of the year! That chorus is . Jupiterdonia is still on a roll with yet another great dance entry, 'Alive' completing a trifecta with 'Fet House Mode' and 'Fake Friends'! Lookylion deserve a shout-out too for their debut entry, an absolute stunner!

Rounding out our top 5, Republic of Adonia proves that female UK drill is really where it's at and we need to hear more of it! And it's always a pleasure to be able to give double-digit points to Persephonia, which doesn't happen consistently by any means but they seem to either get big points from us or none at all.

If you didn't already guess, I reversed the order as it was the only way to ensure the winner didn't become obvious before, had I done order of receipt, FARC never would've let up though there was a couple of times the other two almost deposed it, but it got too much of a lead at the start and the late voters didn't touch the contenders for the most part!

I have the same positions for everything but Caerfyrddia and New Lexico 1 point higher/lower respectively - looks like you misattributed the 1 point from either Quintessa or FARC!

(also Hendinia got 17 votes not 16 though that's a very minor presentation error xx)

Also I ignored that whole top 6 but I didn't mind any of the top 3 and I'm pleased for both Joseph and WoW for doing a lot better than one could've expected, especially the latter for a debut and to FARC for getting one back as 2nd twice in a row would be pretty frustrating! Extremely pleased for Caerfyrddia, Persephonia and Trifoski getting top 10, was only towards the end that the latter two did it and it was a wonderful surprise and Quintessa doing much better than I expected. Y'all were a little bit out with Ojnoj though, oops x

Also I'm pretty pleased with 29th for me, this was a very niche one and it at least satisfied that niche from what I can see so no complaints!

This thread was quite a rollercoaster for Ela Minus then! Seems like she got a ton of points from the earliest voters and another ton of points from the latest voters with very little inbetween so would have done pretty much the same if Chez had announced the votes the other way around after all! Really happy to have come top 10 again, I had a good feeling when I first found the song that it could do this well so yay for my instincts being on point, take that oddsmakers/predictors etc. thanks v much again to all who voted especially Jake/Dandy/Noche/Harve x In the spirit of my continued avoidance of filling in the unique positions in the top 10 though how typical is it that Elëdan post-deduction ended up literally less than 1 point behind me blocking me from coming 8th for the first time *______* (also how could I forget... it achieved the ultimate victory of beating Klum Rep I did like the Little Jinder song and it's a bit of a shame to see yet another Klum Rep underperformance but I did honestly think all along this one was being a little overpredicted unfortunately!)

V happy with Tei Shi winning and I never voted to veto it so my conscience is clear on the potential controversy of it winning after being vetoed after Jake having so many 2nd places since last winning. I was sure when I saw that TARO Bellamia and Lookylion were tied that it was Lookylion taking 2nd place as it felt like they were getting points from nearly everyone but I guess TARO Bellamia were sneakily doing the same! Welcome Joseph to the club of people with 2 2nd places and no wins, I could relate for a few months back in 2014 xo 3rd place and over 300 points is still an excellent start for Lookylion and it was a great debut entry from them, here's hoping they can keep up the quality with future entries!

As usual I was only really following a few songs so I kind of missed some of these songs becoming top 10 contenders - I'm sure Aeroche were like 11th the last time I checked but of course they end up making the top 5 again and Taahino completely came out of nowhere for me but happy to see them picking up another top 10 hit! Also pretty pleased with Mosquetania getting another top 5 (breaking the Vera curse, all it took was a good song!!1) and that entire 7-10 section is all fab, Hatari outperforming their Eurovision result as I hoped and Blanck Mass #defyingtheodds to come top 10 *.* all in all has to be one of the better top 10s we've had in a while, only one song in there that didn't at least make my commiserations! (well 2 including my own song lol)

Would have been great to see Vülkyria making the top 10 too but 12th is still pretty good for such a quirky entry! Solid top 20 results for Niceland, Quintessa and Danæviia too, and not too bad results for Hendinia/Republic of Adonia/POPHub as I didn't expect too much from them (especially Adonia). Biggest disappointment here is Ojnoj as this was a massive grower for me and I thought it was one that would appeal pretty strongly, whoops! Would also have liked to see FLJ and Terra Avium a bit higher.

And of course a big congrats to Cor Lupus for an impactful wooden spoon

Aw man, so close to top 20 but missing out on a tiebreak! Still, 21st is my best result of the year and still a top-half finish, when I was just happy to qualify and figured I’d be bottom-ten. I got points from a lot of countries that I wasn’t expecting, and ‘Swimming’ was not my typical kind of entry so I appreciate everyone giving it a chance

Congrats Jake, great entry and a very worthy winner. The runner-up was a welcome surprise, it would’ve been amazing for TAROBell to finally get their first win, but I’m currently eating my words for thinking Future Jr’s song was a stronger entry than Isac’s, so hopefully there’s some small victory in that

I hope Lookylion is overjoyed with 3rd place, losing the lead toward the end was a letdown but still, 3rd place is better than most, if not all of us have done on our debut entries!

Disappointed in how my top two faves did, Oslol and Jupiterdonia deserved much better! </3

FARC was the only one I voted for in the entire top 11 so happy with that winner but the rest of these results are a mess.

Happily take 28th though with this my favourite entry ever of course shout outs to Frank & Mack for the 18s but also to our 2 biggest allies for the snubs! (granted i snubbed you too Addy, this must be a rare moment indeed!)
