Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome to the 101st Buzzjack Song Contest: Final Results show! We are situated in the beautiful Exhibitién Arena in Flynt, Aeroche following a glorious evening of music from all over the globe. As we enter the final stage of the eleventh decade of the contest, we are deciding to do things a little differently when it comes to the voting reveal.

The reveal tonight will be organised into two sections - Qualifier Voting and Jury Voting. Sound complicated? Allow us to explain:



All 37 eligible nations who made the final BJSC stage will be revealing their votes one-by-one, using the 18-point system. After the last nation has voted, the scoreboard will freeze, and we will continue onto Jury Voting.

Note* - as Republic of Adonia did not vote in the final stage, only 36 votes will be revealed.

Their entry will be deducted 33% from their final score, and their nation will be banned from entering next month's contest (BJSC 102).



The 20 remaining eligible countries who participated in the Semi-Final Stage but did NOT progress onto the final stage will have their points combined into what we have called Jury Voting - as they are impartial at this stage, their votes act as an outside jury.

The songs will be revealed in order of combined scores from lowest to highest. These totals will then be added to the previously frozen scoreboard to give our final total for each nation at the night. After the song with the most points from the Jury Voting has been revealed, we will have a fully completed scoreboard, which will allow us to crown the winner of BJSC 101.

Note* - as Hendinia did not vote in the final stage, only 19 votes will be revealed.

Their nation will be banned from entering next month's contest (BJSC 102).

What an incredible start thank you Leww! I never would have pegged you as a huge fan of this for some reason, but I'm so glad you are. It appears that you take to my emotional female songs well (after the 18 for 'Time' also!). Congratulations Lotunia for receiving a first ever 18 from us and starting off our 2018 gold medals in an incredible way! This wondrous foreign experience is a true masterclass in building. It hooks you in with its mysterious vibes and then suddenly throws absolutely EVERYTHING at you during the last minute, which is a truly enthralling way to see it out. What a gem. Hope this can finish top 10 tonight! Desbuanda have to settle for another silver from us (after Zola Jesus last year) rather than getting a first ever gold, but that's nothing to be sniffed at of course! 'Sympathy' is super intense and reminds us of '$ORO' from 2016 BJSC in a big way, through both the vocal style and the huge sounding production. Very good stuff. Quintessa then round off our top three with 'Deeper'! Our only criticism of this one is that it could definitely do with a longer duration. It finishes far too quickly after it dives into the best part of the song at the end! But this is so damn good while its on that we couldn't rank it any lower. An absolutely stunning (mostly) instrumental with equally lovely visuals.

Allo allo from Persephonia x These final votes are in memoriam of that one remix of Strange Fruit that sadly no longer exists </3 But at least Aeroche have finally sent another much delayed potential and as we knew it would all along, it has sailed to our 18 point slot x stay tuned for next month when our 18 maybe becomes competitive again. 'Another Time' is just such a ~vibey~ track, let's hope it's another Aerohit as it is one of their very best

Obvious 18 aside this month our faves were constantly shuffling and shifting around, all quite close between 15 and 7 points. It's a bit of déjà vu from Sonia & Selena/SOFI TUKKER two years ago with Desbuanda and Jadakissnia occupying our 15 and 13 slot but this time the other way around with Desbuanda getting their highest points ever from us with a marvellous '$ORO' esque angsty scream anthem, while the bronze medal goes to K Á R Y Y N's intense and trippy choon ~ Climbing in our affections throughout the contest, Aelandor end up with 12 points with a distortion-heavy rock anthem, while 11 points go to a quirky and infectious bit of funk from Azure. Quintessa's lovely spacey instrumental gets our 10 points, would likely be higher if the song was fleshed out a bit more as it always seems to end far too soon. Lotunia finally get points from us and 9 of them at that with their mystic Vietnamese curiosity, we welcome the end of Thelonia racism (at least until this inevitably does quite poorly in the final x) with their dedication to house music (did people get that's what it was?) getting our 8 points, then Terra Avium end up what feels faaar too low, getting 7 points for their #longsongbloc trance beauty.

Filling out the rest of our votes, the one we're tipping for the win is undoubtedly New Lexico and they get our 6 points because who can resist that sample? 5 points go to République d'Ashton with their super catchy Latin bop which is probably our favourite Ashentry since 'Medevac' way back. Anniversary nation Cadelicia get our 4 points with what turned out to be a good choice of twenty one pilots track, not as good as 'Trees' but what is? That and Séyetana were both also big growers this month, the latter missed out on points from us in the semi-final but the song proved to be a relentless grower as expected, how could we not point Team Rockit after all ~ they ended up with 3 points. Then the mealworm points go to Jupiterdonia with a song we're tipping as a possible dark horse hit (lewd tho x) and finally Trifoski with a sumptuous bop , not Porter's finest work but still well worthy of a point.

Vote for me when you like a song I send and stop these points droughts!! And stop trashing ALL the songs I send on Plug - you KNOW who you are!! Could you BE any more biased? Can't even BELIEVE my sang is floppin so much right now, not even top30, just like no.48. I just can't. It keeps flopping even more with each update. Also, what EVEN are some of these songs above me?? Also, if I'd sent Jupiterdonia or Persephonia's song, for example, there are others, it would have been a 15 point smash and y'all know it, so having it higher than mine is just like whatever. (And yes, that Persephonia song is good, but that's not the point. If I sent a song THAT different, all with Beaverdoniaism would laugh, criticise it on Plug and then have no one vote for it. Also it's a grower, and no one gives my songs a chance - they don't even wait for the choruses!). And although this was actually a good competition with strong songs, I coulda voted for a lot tbh, I'm saying this in PRINCIPLE. It happens ALL THE TIME with me, all de tarm - even in hella weak competitions. Betsy floppin at 32? Yeah RIGHT. Not if ANYONE ELSE SENT IT. STOP BEAVERDONIAISM!
