THE DJ BATTLE!!!
Your countries finest DJs have been asked to send a song that represents your country, and will represent each entry at the world's most prestigious nightclub, so big that it also serves as an arena - of course it's Aelan's Watermelon Club Arena. Because it's big n' juicy like a watermelon.
Select DJs however will be pitted against each other, and only the DJs that get the loudest crowd reaction may progress to the final set...

This is absolutely true. About 10 years ago my crown came off my tooth on Christmas Eve so rang the dentist and he told me to keep it safe and he'd stick it back on in the New Year, cheaper than ordering a new one. So I popped it in a wine glass for safe keeping. Christmas dinner and wife's friends came. Well their daughter, 19, took a sip of wine and said "What's this in the bottom of my wine glass?" OMG, was my crown. 
She hasn't been to a meal since!! We all laughed but not her. Wife had supposedly washed all the glasses.

'banging' isn't exactly the word for it ~ going for a new-age/downtempo electronic gem from 2005. May already be one of my favourite entries ever. Self hype

I'm doing a self-recycle for the first time and I am in LOVE with my entry it's weirder than anything I've sent in a while, plus the video is the darkest one I've sent which looking back at them is quite the statement.

Having some trouble deciding where to go after CLC's huge flop in the finals. I thought that song would do better than it did for sure, but oh well. Onward and upward!
I definitely have a main choice right now, it's a PC music/8-bit pop gem that I've been into recently that I feel really treads that fine line between serious and novelty. My trouble making a decision this month is for my back up entry. I have a feeling my main choice will likely be vetoed, and I want to have an A1 replacement for it if that happens, but I have SO many potentials that I'm just kinda stuck trying to decide where I'm going if that were to happen. I have one that's melodic hip hop with some stadium trap/EDM influences. One that takes me back to a full-on 80's sound, complete with breathy English vocals and a cheesy 80's guitar solo. One that sounds like it could be a tropical house anime opening (if it were in Japanese). One that would be FIRMLY a novelty track by a literal porn star, but I feel like I don't want to risk my streak on something like that quite yet.
I could go on, but I think you all get the point

I just found a Mongolian throat singing track that's genuinely a bit of a banger...? I don't know what to feel right now, maybe if I have no ideas for a month in future I'll send it. It's really good.

Anyway, this month I'm keeping with the spirit of the host and going dance again, fingers crossed I don't DNQ this time. I've a few potentials atm but I'm really looking for that one outstanding track, that's as instant as Saving Light [though it won't be trance]

Ooh excellent *.* Time to unleash my 20th entry. I think I am going for an electronic song with striking vocals and slightly pulsating production. My first Icelandic act to the main contest! I was torn between two of their songs - one felt too short (just over 2 minutes) albeit would probably be the safer option, but this other song excites me more. Bring it on!

Good stuff - I'm surprised we're only on BJSC 93 with the short space of time between contests, but I guess it only works out around one a month all in all!

It works out at one a month, though we have two months off each year for Buzzjackfestivalen and TBO (The Best Of) so it's ten a year.

What is Buzzjackfestivalen? Not even heard of that despite being a participant for well over a year now. Don't remember it last year (or was that 10 Year Anniversary thing taking its place?)

It was rested for a year in place of the 10 year Anniversary thing - but it's a different contest format set up in the format of Melodifestivalen (4 heats, a second chance 'semi-final' and then a much smaller final than normal). And you can only enter songs that are 3 minutes and under, to keep with the Eurovision theme.
Basically something a bit lighter than normal BJSC to give us a break from contest fatigue in the middle of the year.

June is the scheduled mid-year break - we haven't decided on the format yet so don't get too hyped for BJFest as we may go with something else yet.
After BJSC's spectacular synchronised taste-failure during 92, Ashton are out for blood this time round.
