I think some fans are proposing artists that they enjoy listening to / think would fit sonically with Chromatica, not just naming the biggest artists for chart success some people enjoy music for music's sake not just for the charts. Strange I know ~

Besides the fact that most people are interested in music instead of the charts, Rina and Charli are far from Z-list stars. Rina had one of the most critically acclaimed records of last year, is nominated for a Brit and is pretty much loved all over the internet. I'm way more interested in seeing GaGa collaborate with her than some "big names".

Chromatica is exactly the type of album that fits for Rina, Grimes, SOPHIE and Charli so why wouldn't they be included?

I don't underestimate any legend, I love most legends including Anastacia and OFCOURSE her big hits have more streams than the likes of Charli and Rina and ofcourse she is more well known than them, did I ever deny that? I was talking about her releasing a new song, and sadly, not a lot of people are interested in her new material and therefore the likes of Charli and Rina have higher streams when it comes to NEW song. That is not disrespecting anyone.

No, Chromatica isn't a set of plates and pans hitting but a cohesive and solid album (although it does have some shitty shit in the middle of it).
You don't even believe that you will be listening remixes from these artists in a year, so don't recommend something for Gaga's career that you yourself won't feel like revisiting in the near future.
I want something that will stand the test of time, not cheap remixes that no one will be listening to next year.

Anastacia hasn't released a single since Stupid Little Things and that song was top 50 in most European markets, so you can't prove that a song/remix with her wouldn't make any noise on the charts, but I can prove that these cheap remixes don't do nothing on the charts, just look at the latest remixes that Gaga released for Chromatica and you will have your answer.

Being closed off to the possibility of certain artists collaborating with Gaga due to writing them off as Z-list is a sad state of affairs. There's far more to music than success and name power. Great talent and artistry isn't reflected purely by numbers.
I'm particularly excited by the possibility that Rina could be involved in a remix, that could be a match made in heaven! Plus she's a fan of Gaga, it would be awesome for her.

Club Future Nostalgia was not a "widespread mess". If this claim is based on Stan Twitter then LOL.
It didn't only sell 18k and drop off the charts after 1 week either - Billboard f***ed up with the charting of its release and Future Nostalgia. The week CFN entered, they removed Future Nostalgia from the chart and the week Future Nostalgia re-entered, CFN was removed.
It has over 77 million streams on Spotify which is really good going for what is essentially a DJ Mix that wasn't intended to set the charts alight in the first place.

I think a Chromatica remix album would be so fun! I never really think about remix albums being particularly mainstream aiming anyway, it's more of an additional for the fans rather than setting the charts alight, isn't it? I know The Fame Remix had stuff from the likes of The Sound of Arrows and Passion Pit.
People who have been mentioned here like SOPHIE, Rina, Charli, Grimes, Kim, AG Cook etc would be a super fun take on the album imo, without straying away from the overall ~vibe. I'd love to here some more disco remixes like the Purple Disco Machine twist of Rain On Me.

While I agree that she could've done "more" for Chromatica (at least some award shows), let's not forget that she has released 3 great videos from the album and has had a tour planned but screwed up because of covid.
The album is straightforward dance and edm, it's was never guaranteed to have big airplay success especially in the US where even Rain on Me just scraped top ten on pop airplay.
I've said this before but the only thing that really bothers me with Chromatica era is that the Sour Candy video never materialised. The lyric video smashed though.

Of course she could have done more for the album even with the pandemic and that was never an excuse, as she didn't mind the virus when she flew to Italy on the second wave of covid to shoot Gucci.
The truth is that for her music career she always finds an excuse not to go ahead with her projects. About Chromatica, it would have potential on radio even in the US, the fault of having been what it was is also fault of her label. Stupid Love hit #11 on pop radio, they could have made the song into the top 5 of the format easily with a few phone call$ like some labels do, plus they literally took Rain On Me off the panel when the song was at its peak on radio She's on one of the worst record labels in the world.
And now she comes up with half-assed projects without committing to any of them in fact (projects she wasn't even involved in), thinking that this will mask the neglect she did with her album, but it won't. Blame it all on Gaga's lack of interest and mismanagement of her career.

Nothing beats the original album, but DOC is decent (when you listen to it in full).

Some of my favourites from this are songs that I overlooked on the original album so it's nice to fully appreciate them now! Like Alice for example, I never quite got the hype before (oops) but I'm loving the new version. 1000 Doves too a whole bop. The 911 remix is probably my absolute highlight, I like that it's a total reimagining and Charli sounds so at home on it, very Pop 2 vibes.

From Free Woman onwards this really snaps hard it’s a really strong listen.
Free Woman, Plastic Doll and Babylon Haus Labs are superior to the actual album versions for me.
Also loving Fun Tonight and that ending of Sine is a moment.

Can see the vinyl being quite a big one then as I know her fans love those and they always create big album jumps for other artists too. Taylor and Ariana I think had big climbs during vinyl release week did Olivia recently go back to #1 too of the back of hers?
I only opted for the standard CD as I’m yet to own a vinyl but hopefully some people bought both
If they’d shipped at same time it may have scraped a top 10 placing on a quiet week as between CDs and Vinyls she’d surely secure around what it would take to be #10.
I’m just happy there’s physical formats though. With how quick the announcement and then release was I knew there’d be some gap and I’m glad the albums come now as Love For Sale and House of Gucci will get more attention from outside the stans/fanbase. Feed us first and then focus on what’s more important to her.

And thanks to its unusual degree of coherence and flow, it’s a project you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home without feeling a crippling sense of FOMO.
Part of what made the original Chromatica so satisfying was its excavation of ’90s house music. It was consistent and relentless in a way that other Gaga albums—even Joanne, with its pink cowboy hat and committed country drag—never quite managed. The most memorable revisions on Dawn of Chromatica create new links to other standout moments in the Gaga discography. The wailing riffs and drum fills plugged into Rina Sawayama and Clarence Clarity’s take on “Free Woman” place it squarely in the Born This Way ecosystem, and Dorian Electra’s trashy remix of “Replay” pushes the leather-and-metal energy even further into the red.
Pabllo Vittar’s breezy rendition of “Fun Tonight” summons Gaga’s early flirtations with Latin music along with a sax line worthy of Clarence Clemons; it also makes one of the saddest songs in recent memory sound like a sun-kissed Brazilian street fair, an appealing dissonance. And while the Dawn of Chromatica version of “Sine From Above” isn’t a song I can see myself revisiting on a regular basis, there’s a bit of ARTPOP in its flatulent digital provocation.
A few other highlights tilt in the other direction, teleporting Gaga into established worlds of sound with satisfying results. Doss transforms “Enigma” from a chaotic anthem into an expression of her signature featherlight dance music, equal parts gauze and rubber. The Planningtorock remix of “1000 Doves” completely changes the tone of the original, turning a bruised hidden gem—perhaps Chromatica’s closest thing to a ballad, barely skirting their illegal status—into strobe-lit New Wave. (It’s the kind of pop song that would’ve crept onto music critics’ best-of lists in the mid-’00s alongside Annie and the Knife.) It’s no surprise that Dawn of Chromatica’s most radical cut is Arca’s subversion of “Rain on Me,” on which Alejandra Ghersi samples her own “Time” and “Mequetrefe” to situate Gaga and Ariana Grande within KiCk i’s gossamer avant-pop.
The two guests closest to pop stardom in their own right bring their A-game on Dawn of Chromatica, elaborating on the original album’s themes of trauma and recovery with contributions that feel more like full-fledged duets than reworks. Sawayama brings a sense of comradery—I love the way she starts the song with a tossed-off “Let’s go, Gaga!”—and an ecstatic defiance to “Free Woman,” capping it off with a glorious celebration of independence. She’s one-upped just a few songs later when Charli XCX and A.G. Cook blow the doors off “911,” Gaga’s harrowing tribute to antipsychotic medication. Its ultimate form is a crystalline hyperpop epic, one that climaxes with a stunning final verse and outro. It’s some of Charli’s finest work since Pop 2.
Dawn of Chromatica’s provisions feel secondary to its function as a document of influence and stamp of approval for a generation of left-field pop misfits. Maybe it’s an odd thing to say about an album that debuted at No. 1 and yielded multiple Top-10 singles, but Chromatica feels distant from the center of the genre; its position within a pop landscape defined by rap’s continued dominance, pop-punk and alt-rock’s twinned resurgence, and the increasing global popularity of urbano and Afrobeats is unclear. Becoming a true multi-hyphenate force—note the album of Cole Porter standards alongside Tony Bennett, the makeup empire, and the impending House of Gucci Oscar campaign—has also meant Gaga entering the “playing the hits” phase of her career. It’s noteworthy that her biggest non-“Shallow” musical moments of the last half-decade are career-spanning sequences at the Super Bowl and the VMAs.
It’s this context that makes Dawn of Chromatica feel less like a celebration of a world-beating record and more like passing the torch. Bringing together this widely varied group of artists from around the world and calling attention to the qualities they share—their playfulness, their courage, their willingness to push the boundaries of taste—is an elegant way for Gaga to reinforce those same qualities as fundamental parts of a legacy that’s still taking shape.

A very fair review! I like how they notice the references to earlier Gaga works in the remix album through some of the songs. I guess some of the artists listened back to her earlier stuff and tried to emulate or be inspired from them in their new versions.

The entire album is tinged with sadness and darkness, but it's masked with the pop/dance beats. Lyrically, it's a really gut-wrenching listen! An acoustic version of the album would really showcase this.

I still maintain this is an incredible project. It showcases some lesser known talents and brings a completely different energy to the album. I listen to tracks from it very regularly which is uncommon for remix albums for me.

These are the main faves for me:
Free Woman (Rina Sawayama and Clarence Clarity remix) 911 (Charli XCX and A. G. Cook remix) Babylon (Bree Runway and Jimmy Edgar remix)
As for the rest, there’s quite a few of them that I didn’t mind but I don’t think that I’d be in a rush to replay them, while others aren’t really for me. Particularly the Sine from Above remix, although it did amuse me.
Of the remixes I’ve not mentioned, are there any in particular that I should give more time? I’m not sure what the main fan favourites are!

I'd say this is her best remix album, so you're not missing much if you don't listen to the other remixes. The Rain on Me remixes and the Honey Dijon remix of Free Woman are nice.

Great picks Jay! The 911, Free Woman and 1000 Doves remixes are probably my favourites now but I enjoy so many of them. The latter in particular is super underrated.
In fact it's probably just Sine From Above that I don't have time for
some people enjoy music for music's sake not just for the charts. Strange I know ~
