I'm carrying this data on from a thread I made on DenDen, in which I kept track of their Spotify plays!
This thread can also be used to post positions from iTunes.

Something that interests me about these stats, is how relatively poor the streams for 'Goodbye' are. I wonder if it suffers due to being tucked away as the last track on the 'Forever' album? Also, in the countries where the 'Greatest Hits' album is accessible, it's the final track on that album too.
'Goodbye' was one of their biggest hits in the UK - it's currently their 5th best selling single (in fact for many years it was 4th, but Spice Up Your Life has recently overtaken it). The fact that it's floundering as their 11th most listened to single on Spotify - with less listens than Holler - is quite a disparity! A relatively forgotten about huge hit.
It's a bit of a shame that Wannabe completely eclipses their other hits, but also not surprising.
Goodbye as a track just isn't that memorable. The reason it became one of their best-sellers was down to Geri leaving.
Viva Forever is the big injustice here.
We all know Spotify works on visability, the easier it is to find or play a song the more streams it gets. It certainly hurts Goodbye.
It annoys me no end the GH isn't on Spotify, it is 2017!
the Greatest Hits is loosing sales in the streaming era which is annoying, though I suppose its better to have one version doing well.
I love Goodbye, but the girls have so many good ballads, that 2 Become 1 always gets the 'christmas attention' over Too Much and Goodbye. Whatsmore, 'Viva Forever' is the 'acclaimed' ballad.
Its a shame that 'Headlines' hasn't managed to find an audience, its a little gem.
UK iTunes:
555 Melanie C - Room for Love
1267 Spice Girls - Stop
98 Spice Girls - Greatest Hits
The GH has been such a steady seller on itunes but with itunes sales dying I do wish they would put it on spotify.
Same! I see no logical reason why it shouldn't be, kind of annoying. It'd attract so many casual listeners!
The greatest hits is #45 on UK itunes. It is on sale for £4.99.
This is great! *.* It's up to #39 now!
I can't remember the last time it was as high as this (these are the moments when I'm annoyed DenDen is down, because it was such a good resource for random useless information ).
I think for 'Greatest Hits' to have any chance of re-entering the UK Top 200 albums chart (next week), it'd really need to climb into the iTunes Top 20 & hang around there for a few days. Download album sales are rather low.
This is assuming that it isn't getting many CD sales (it isn't on Amazon at least, it's not Top 700 there), although it is in a 2 for £10 deal in HMV. Presumably its streaming is very low due to not being available on Spotify. So it's a slight uphill struggle for it to re-enter the official chart.
By the way, they have three songs in the iTunes Top 1500
#1123 - Wannabe (Radio Edit) [downloaded from the 'Spice' album]
#1143 - Goodbye (Single Edit) [downloaded from the 'Greatest Hits' album]
#1454 - Say You'll Be There (Single Mix) [downloaded from the 'Spice' album]
It is at 34 now any reason for rising so much? Is it on the itunes front page?
It's included in the "Pop Albums at Great Prices" promotion! It's showing at the bottom of the main page.
#28 that is pretty amazing, with non counting albums it's top 20.
So the GH charted at #78 on the uk album download chart. Jay do you still get access to the sales for that chart how much did it sell?
I know the download sales for the albums that charted within the Top 200 albums / compilations!
So, I've managed to discover that the #79 album on downloads (Guns N' Roses) sold 221 downloads, and the #75 (BBC Radio 2 - Sound of the 80s) sold 231 downloads. Therefore the Spice Girls Greatest Hits sold anywhere between those two figures.
So about 225 copies. I guess that is nice to add to its overall total.
The GH is #96 on UK itunes after Debbie dancing to 2 Spice Girls songs on Strictly.
#1106 - Who Do You Think You Are
#1200 - Wannabe
#1211 - 2 Become 1
#105 - Greatest Hits
Did you preserve the solo data as well?
I did! I'll try and get around to a full update soon.
GH is up to #86 on UK itunes after Debbie was in the dance off so danced to the Spice Girls again.
Stop is the third song in Spotify's latest Throwback Thursday playlist!
Get those sales Stop!!!
It entered the Spotify UK Top 200 at #113.
such an iconic song.
funny it was thier golden age "flop"

Stop was used on I'm a celeb, the GH is up to #110 on UK itunes chart.
I think seeing how well this does on the itunes chart it is madness they don't have it on Spotify. I think it would rack up great streaming sales if it was.
#997 - Stop
#1267 - 2 Become 1
#140 - Greatest Hits
I guess it should go in here that 2 become 1 is #45 on the UK TV airplay chart this week. It was #44 last week and #59 the week before.
Chart run this xmas so far 59-44-45. That is over 600 times the video has been played the last 3 weeks.
2 Become 1 really is an honorary Christmas classic, love to hear/see it at this time of year. Hopefully a Christmas #1 themed playlist becomes prominent on Spotify so 2B1/Too Much/Goodbye all achieve a good streaming boost.
iTunes:
#1019 - 2 Become 1
#197 - Greatest Hits
2 become 1 has increased by 555,000 streams on Spotify since Jay did his last update on Nov 26th. That is in 17 days, averaging 32.6k a day.
Great increase! At this rate, 2 Become 1 will overtake Say You'll Be There's total streams by 27th December.
If 2 Become 1 continued to achieve the same average daily stream count, then it would be on course to overtake Spice Up Your Life by 20th January. Say You'll Be There might overtake Spice Up Your Life sometime in May, and both could have crossed over 25m streams by then.
Wannabe's getting very close to 200m+, it should manage that within the first fortnight of 2018! It passed 100m on 3rd August 2016, so that'll mean it's taken just 17 months to double that. It's incredibly good for such an old song! I'm not sure how many songs released before this decade have managed 200m+ on Spotify. I know TLC's No Scrubs is slightly ahead overall (195,736,110 across four versions with different lengths, main is on 193,760,845). Wannabe is currently on 194,442,481 with one version.

Btw there's a UK Christmas Number 1s play list on Spotify and the Spice Girls are the cover for it. 2 Become 1 is 10th, Too Much is 15th and Goodbye is 22nd in the list.
Get dem streamz bitches!
2 become 1 has done another 120k streams in 3 days. It is also up to #35 on the UK TV airplay chart.
It is nice to see a song not Wannabe doing so well. The cherry on the cake would be it getting that 2x plat cert before xmas.
DO it 2 become 1!!!
iTunes:
#487 & #1467 - 2 Become 1
#1291 - Goodbye
#127 - Greatest Hits
Is there a reason you've changed your name to Mariah Jay??
My Christmas themed name
iTunes:
#397 & #1143 - 2 Become 1
#773 - Goodbye
#176 - Greatest Hits
Looks like 2 Become 1 will overtake Say You'll Be There on Spotify tomorrow - 2B1 has 22,127,151 streams, SYBT = 22,138,300
I cant believe 2 become 1 hasn't hit double platinum yet, it must be really close.
I can’t believe Say you’ll be there hasn’t reached 1 million yet!! Get a flipping move on!!!
I'm sure it has done by now when including streaming sales but sadly 1m including streaming sales isn't that much to shout about anymore.
2 become 1 has passed SYBT on Spotify it is now 11k ahead.
It has now added 1.1m streams in 27 days.
Since the last update, the album version of 'Goodbye' has been streamed more times than the album versions of 'Holler' and 'Mama'... so there's a possibility that 'Goodbye' will climb into their Top 10 Popular list and knock 'Holler' out in the process.

UK Christmas #1s play list is the first playlist being promoted on Spotify's home page! (presumably only in the UK). It's a bit of a shame that 2B1, TM & Goodbye are only 10th, 16th & 23rd in the list respectively, but hopefully the fact the girls are being used as the play list's artwork will encourage people to specifically go into that play list to play their songs.
Also, Sleigh Ride is included in Kids' Christmas Party classics, another promoted play list. Only 26th in the list, but should still give it a little boost. The funny thing about this being included in a "kids friendly" play list is Victoria shouting "FATHER CHRISTMAS DOESN'T EXIST" in it.
VICTORIA
2 become 1 did 38k streams yesterday! Hopefully another couple of days with big streaming numbers.
Shhhhhh! He does, Vicky. x
Christmas #1s removed from front page now It's in the Seasons Greeting category though so hopefully still a lot of streams for Spice Girls today.
Goodbye is now back in the Spice Girls' most popular Top 10 (at #10), replacing Holler!
Yay goodbye deserves to be in the top 10, but then so does Holler... Down with Mama!!!
Too Much is the one that needs to leave. Mama gets big streaming around Mother's day.
Oh of course Mother’s Day will help that song loads
Too Much is now 7th with Viva Forever falling to 8th, while Goodbye has climbed to 9th and Mama is down to 10th.
I think this is what happened last year... it probably won't be too long until Goodbye dips out of their Top 10 again.
Wtf??? JUSTICE FOR VIVA FOREVER!!
Too Much has moved up to 6th!
Wonder where all this Too much love is coming from suddenly?
I imagine it's because of it being on the Christmas #1 playlist!
oh yeah, that makes sense! Now another important question... Who is that hottie in your sig??
The lovely KJ Apa
Just googled him and... holy body Might have to watch Riverdale.
Wannabe is in the UK Spotify Top 200 for 31st December! It's at #199 with 58,212 streams.
iTunes:
#256 - Greatest Hits
Spotify:
(I'm not sure when it did it because I've not checked for a few days, but) Wannabe has now exceeded 200m streams! It's on 200,075,862. Has anyone been playing closer attention than me - has it only crossed over today?
Goodbye has already slid down to #10, with Mama overtaking it. I'll always find it a shame how underplayed it is, it deserves more attention. I assume it won't be long until Holler makes its way back into the Top 10! Viva Forever has moved ahead of Too Much again too.
Not sure why but the GH is up to #78 on UK itunes.
'Holler' has returned to their Spotify Popular Top 10, at #10. Goodbye, 'Goodbye'! x
'2 Become 1' is very close to overtaking 'Spice Up Your Life' in terms of total streams.
SUYL: 22,882,616
2B1: 22,827,891
The holy grail would be an updated sales total for the GH. Only way we will ever get one is if it ever hits double platinum, which it might if it was on Spotify!
Still waiting any day now for 2 become 1 to be certified double platinum.
HERE for Too Much to smash ... again.
Up there with their VERY BEST. That retro sound could be something they could do even today or have done back in 2007!!
2 Become 1 has moved ahead of Spice Up Your Life in terms of overall streams!
22,985,170 - 2 Become 1
22,979,056 - Spice Up Your Life
The GH is currently #129 in the UK on itunes.
#126 - Greatest Hits
#1212 - Spice
GH #99 on UK itunes.
GH is up to #78 on UK itunes chart.

The news is making the GH fly up on itunes #67 now.

#886 Stop
#889 2 Become 1
#1327 Spice Up Your Life
#1357 Viva Forever
It'd be great if this reunion would push the GH past 500k. It's doable if they have activities during the entire year - it should be less than 80k away considering it had sold 413k a bit over five years ago.
This would be a great week to stream their music and buy the GH if you havent got it.
UK iTunes:
#24 Greatest Hits
#917 Spice
#617 Wannabe
#787 Say You'll Be There
#838 Spice Up Your Life
#908 Stop
#989 2 Become 1
#1181 Spice Up Your Life
#1471 Who Do You Think You Are
#1475 Viva Forever
Songs are falling, apart from the second version of SUYL climbing, and WDYTYA being new into the Top 1500.
Really want the Greatest Hits to climb into the Top 20!
Would love to see the GH in the top 20. Hopefully morning tv talks about the reunion tomorrow.
The GH is #141 on Amazon best sellers list. It is probably around 100 when compilations and duplicate albums that wont count towards the chart are taken out.
Pleasing! Hoping it gets into the Amazon Top 100 tomorrow, given that there is a section dedicated to that. Hopefully attract more casual sales with the increased visibility.
Please can this enter the albums Top 200 next week... ! I'm gagging for a sales update
Keeping my fingers crossed that the Official Charts Company run an article due to the reunion news, although I presume if they did they'd only focus on the singles.

iTunes:
#560 Wannabe
#695 Say You'll Be There
#815 Stop
#822 Spice Up Your Life
#955 2 Become 1
#1139 Viva Forever
#1234 Spice Up Your Life
#1368 Who Do You Think You Are
Still #24 for the Greatest Hits, Spice down to #939.
It is in HMVs 2 for £10 offer too so hopefully it has picked up sales there. If it was on spotify id be sure it would go top 200 this week with streaming sales added in.
I looked back it peaked at #28 on itunes when it was reduced the other month and will your sales info we worked out it did about 225 download sales that week. What sales are needed to make top 200 these days?
This week it took 759 copies to be #200. Predictably most of the albums lower down the chart have a very high percentage of sales coming from streaming.
The #100 physical album of the week sold 505 copies, the #100 download album sold 164 copies. #100 sales album (i.e. downloads & physicals together) = 611 copies. So that certainly shows how inflated the official Top 200 is with streaming in the mix, for #200 to be 759 copies (and #100 is 1,215 copies).
It's pretty frustrating that Spice Girls' Greatest Hits will more than likely have a nice showing on physicals & downloads this coming week, but will be severely let down by streaming. Destiny's Child's #1's album is #199 with 759 copies this week, but of that, only 11 were physicals & 26 were downloads. So just 4.87% actual purchased copies.
GH up to #16 on UK itunes, Spice is #192.
Up to #15 I'd love it to break the top 10
#14 getting so close! Top 10 on itunes main page would be amazing!
The cd is #104 on Amazon best sellers list.
Up to #13 this must be the highest the GH has been since the Olympics.
Fantastic!

Nice to see even Forever has sold a couple... would love to see Headlines in the Top 1500.
Headlines in fact is my tune I keep listening to today (well along with my anthology playlist!) but it just feels very apt for right now. 'The time is now or never...'

iTunes in other countries (Top 200):
#12 - Greatest Hits (Ireland)
#90 - Greatest Hits (Italy)
#134 - Greatest Hits (Australia)
#178 - Greatest Hits (Italy)
Apple Music (Top 200):
#129 - Greatest Hits (Philippines)
#136 - Greatest Hits (UK)
#174 - Spice (Antigua and Barbuda)
In the US, only Wannabe is in their Top 1500 songs (#820). Spice is #677 and Greatest Hits is only #1314.
I'm impressed the GH got to #136 on Apple music yesterday seen as the news only really broke at about 4pm. Hopefully it can climb today with it having a whole day with the news going round.
The GH must be comfortably top 200 probably top 100 so far counting towards the charts it is just whether it holds up through the week.
I'm awaiting the midweeks tomorrow, I might buy a copy of the GH for my bf this week just because if it looks like it will chart this week I wanna make sure it does #chartgeek
GH is #10 on UK itunes 😍😍😍
Hopefully top 10 exposure can get them even higher
USA
837 - Greatest Hits
845 - Spice
I know it's nowhere near the Top 100-200 chart, but how many copies would you need to sell to appear in any album chart now in countries like the US, Australia, Ireland etc..
Now it’s #8
^ Were you looking via this link? https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/charts/albums/ - because if so, this doesn’t include the explicit albums! So Spice Girls are showing at #8 here.
This is the chart with explicit albums included: http://www.livepopbars2.com/lpb1024.php?Region=143444&Chart=34&Albums=1&ref=lpb1&t=1517772617 (MTV Rocks, Eminem, Dua and P!nk are explicit). Spice Girls currently #12.
So bizarre seeing them alongside Pink and Ed Sheeran
Predictably all of the singles are falling on iTunes now, with the exception of Too Much which has climbed a few places.
Greatest Hits back up to #11!
UK iTunes:
#11 - Greatest Hits (taking out the compilation albums that don't count for the main chart, they're currently the 7th best selling album)

Greatest Hits is at #6 in Ireland!
Viva Forever, Too Much, Mama, 2 Become 1 and Say You'll Be There are #10/11/12/13/14 respectively in Cyprus! It'll only be like 4 sales each.
Yes Too Much, I was wondering why it was floppin a few posts ago!!
The GH is #68 on Apple music so at least it will be getting some streaming sales too this week. I'm actually surprised it is that high.
Just makes me even more annoyed it isn't on Spotify, it could be looking at being in the top 40 this week on the chart if it was. Still should defo make top 100 or 200 this Fridays chart.
Number 8 on itunes now!
They're getting the info from this link: https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/charts/albums/ but this page excludes all albums that have explicit songs on it!
It fell to 12 but back up to 11. Dan Wattoon was on Lorraine talking about the reunion. Also Emma has been chatting about it on radio this morning too.
Nowhere to be seen in midweeks is it ?
It is #65 in the midweeks today.
This is what confuses me about the charts. It's been in the Top 15 since Friday and most of that time it's been at #10/11 so how is it only #65 in the midweeks.
The charts today really confuse me
It is a mystery, it is on Apple music to stream but they aren't as big a share or the market as Spotify.
#65 is good. You have to think the CD isn't stocked in supermarkets and HMVs probably have 3 to 5 copies in each right now.
Plus they haven't actually announced anything yet, the GH will get more boosts as they properly announce something and more stock at HMV.
Just fingers crossed it gets put on UK Spotify soon.
hopefully it climbs through the week then, was hoping too 40 but that looks doubtful now
Glad to see it at #65! I hope it can hold on to the Top 100 for Friday. At least it should be guaranteed to be somewhere within the Top 200, and hopefully that means we'll be able to find out a new sales total for it. We haven't had an updated figure since August 2012!
Greatest Hits currently #17 on iTunes.
Good news is it is up to #49 on Apple music. It has gone 138-68-49 the last 3 days so it is increasing its streams.
Get those streams, ladies! (And put it on Spotify!! ). Seriously, who should be contacted to get them to make it available there? It just makes no sense to withhold it from there.
It is very frustrating given it is doing so well on Apple Music.
I'm certain this would be top 40 come Friday if the GH was on Spotify.
Kinda shocked the GH is still #16 on itunes. It has held up amazingly well.
Up to #14
I bet Victoria is refreshing kworb as we speak keeping track of it 🙈😂
67% of this week's greatest hits sales are from downloads and physical purchases, 33% is from streaming.

GH uk itunes #20
GH Amazon uk bestsellers #97
Shame it's starting to fall out of the top 20 on itunes, it has held up amazingly though was not expecting it to even get into the top 20 on itunes never mind stay there for several days!
It should hopefully remain top 100 since the strongest sales days tend to be the weekend.
The GH was #83 on Apple Music streaming album chart yesterday. Its chart run is 138-68-49-83 so far.
The GH is #25 on itunes.
Rather disappointly the GH price has gone up on Amazon ( amazon never one to not cash in) to £7.24. It is #144 on Amazon bestseller list.
After dropping down to #33 the GH is going up again with lots of press covering that a tour is in the works. Up to #27.
Up to #23. Be interesting to see how high it goes on the morning if this is all over the morning news again.
GH currently back up to #21 in the UK
Completely disappeared from the iTunes chart in Ireland?
One last push of download sales tonight/tomorrow to make sure it charts top 100 Friday would be great.
Up to #18. Would love it to go top 10 again.
Fantastic to see the Greatest Hits back in the Top 20!

It's a shame they aren't hotter in the US anymore but hey no one can take away what they sold there in the 90s and their number 1 single and album.
The GH is #23 on itunes, 10 releases ahead of it were released today.
Re-enters the official chart at #81!
So we will finally find out its current total
GH currently in the UK -
Itunes - #25
Amazon - #136
Apple music #112
Looking good for another week in the top 200 hopefully.
Greatest Hits is holding up nicely, it's still #25 on UK iTunes.
#25 - Greatest Hits
#440 - Spice

A few songs still hanging around:

#1275 - Say You'll Be There
#1488 - Who Do You Think You Are
The GH has risen again on Apple music to #103 for yesterdays album streaming chart. It is the 2nd day it has risen.
So far 112 and 103 for Fri and Sat of this charting week.
Do we not get updated sales due to it charting in the top 100/200?
This is still holding up amazingly well on itunes #24 right now. Its a shame Victoria denying the tour rumour has sucked all my excitement out of whatever is happening now.
The GH rises on Apple music again 3rd day in a row, it is back in the top 100 at #94.
Chart run for this charting week so far - 112 (fri), 103 (sat), 94 (sun).
It is #27 on itunes and #170 on Amazon. Looking like it will comfortably make the top 200 again this week.
The last sales update for 2 become 1 was 19th Sept 2017 when its total was 1,181,653.
Its streams on Spotify on Oct 6th were 19, 792,139, as of today they stand at 23,904,408.
It has increased over 4m plays in those 4 months. It must be so so close to double platinum. Hopefully any week now the BPI certifies it double plat.
What we do know for sure is that it hasn't yet achieved 1,834,700 streams across all the UK streaming platforms since 19th September! 146 days have passed since then.
If 2 Become 1 was certified double platinum for 1.2m sales tomorrow (and this isn't taking into account the unknown small amount of download trickle sales it's achieved in this time), it'd work out as being an average of 12,556 streams per day, or 87,965 in a week. So it must be getting streamed less than these figures each day/week.
I hope it's close to getting 2xPlatinum anyway, it's long overdue!
It must surely be any week now it will go double platinum.
I'm more interested in seeing Say you'll be there passing the million sales mark (and Spice up your life if poss) than 2 become 1 getting double platinum tbh.
A million has kind of lost its wow factor for me since streaming came into play. There's a likelihood Say You'll Be There has crossed over already and OCC hasn't even reported it, because it's not really a special event any more. It'd be great to get confirmation that it has done it, of course, but these days a "millionaire" (as the OCC now calls it) can be achieved by songs that don't even achieve a Top 5 peak in the charts.
2 Become 1 getting 2xPlatinum will be good to know because then we'll know for certain it's sold 1,200,000. Also it'll be nice for them to add another certification to their name! I think it deserves the status of being a multi-platinum hit.
As things stand:
2xPlatinum - Wannabe
Platinum - 2 Become 1
Platinum - Say You'll Be There
Platinum - Spice Up Your Life
Platinum - Goodbye
Platinum - Mama / Who Do You Think You Are
Platinum - Viva Forever
Platinum - Too Much
Gold - Stop
Silver - Holler / Let Love Lead The WayRust - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)
Wannabe's streaming is so strong that it shouldn't be too many years until it achieves 3xPlatinum (1,800,000). As of September 2017 it had achieved 160,276 sales via streaming, i.e. 16,027,600 streams since January 2014.
Wannabe's total sales (physicals + downloads + streaming) in September 2017 was 1,545,488. So that's 254,512 sales to go until 1.8m. In terms of streaming, it'd need 25,451,200 more streams (although that's not taking into account the fact it'll achieve some download sales too). Streaming is bigger than ever before now, so it'll presumably achieve 25m streams in the UK a lot more quickly than it achieved 16m.
When it comes to Spotify's global streams for Wannabe, it was on 178,691,047 on 6th October 2017, it's now on 208,788,834, so just over 30m worldwide over the last 4 months. It'd be interesting to know how many of those were in the UK. There'll be lots of streams coming from Apple Music too.
If this forthcoming Spice reunion is worthwhile, I can only see Wannabe's streaming getting stronger still. So I'll make a prediction that Wannabe will earn its 3xPlatinum certification before 2020. We shall see!
How long until Holler gets gold?
Shame it isn't platinum
GH at #33 slipping down a bit now.
Apple music #118
GH back up to #28 on itunes
its a shame there aren't more physical copies. TSOGA for example and the TT greatest hits always benefited from Woolworths closing in the former case but also just being in the supermarkets. SG-GH has not been stoked since 2008 and I always have thought a vinyl and more CDs in distribution would have allowed stronger trickle sales.
The GH got restocked at supermarkets in 2012. Will be interesting if that happens again this year.
I don't get why the GH isn't stocked in supermarkets all the time to allow for trickle sales. Abba Gold, The Immaculate Collection, Queens GH and The Beatles 1 are constantly selling thanks to this it would help the girls tremendously. It shows just how well the girls have sold on downloads over the years the fact it is not very well stocked and then that it isn't on the major streaming site spotify either.
I noticed Bananaramas first greatest hits got pretty well restocked after their recent reunion so it wouldn't surprise me to see the same if the girls actually tour or put on shows.
I bought the restocked Bananarama lol. Its a brilliant GH.
The GH had fallen to #93 this morning but is recovering now back up to #65.
GH -

GH -

Apple music - #180
Amazon best sellers - #262
It might sneak another week in the top 200 after charting at #154 last week.
Forgot to mention the other day that Stop has exceeded 20m streams on Spotify!
Go Stop!!! Truly a Spice classic despite it selling so much less than their other 90's hits!
The GH has risen again on Apple music to #168.
I'm happy to see how well they have done streaming wise, I don't think they ever really caught on downloads wise but seems like streaming will be better for them.
Possibly 3 weeks in the top200 for 10 year old album is not bad based on a photograph

Today's Throwback Thursday play list on Spotify has the theme "Award-winning Brit stars"! Geri is used as the play list's artwork, and Spice Up Your Life is the first song on the play list.
I assume that it should enter the Spotify Top 200 songs chart (published on Friday) & maybe it'll even boost SUYL up the Spice Girls' popular songs list (it's been in 5th place for a while now).
Who Do You Think You Are & 2 Become 1 are also in the play list, but much lower down. Who Do You Think You Are is 53rd, 2 Become 1 is 62nd (there's 70 songs in the play list).
That playlist looks amazing *.* pre-bedtime listening sorted x
Nice to see them on that playlist.
The GH is #193 on Apple music.
SUYL #105 on UK Spotify, 64,635 streams.
Throwback Thursday has sent Spice Up Your Life up from being their 5th most popular song on Spotify, to 3rd!
TLC's No Scrubs has now overtaken Wannabe on Spotify. No Scrubs has 211,846,818 streams, Wannabe is on 211,722,644.

She looked amazing on Sunday brunch
Dancing on ice which used WDYTYA for a routine has helped the GH go back up to #69.

Nice to know one song on TV can help, even though I don’t watch DOI.
I know it's probably like 5 sales but still it's amazing

Emma's 'Maybe' was included in the most recent Throwback Thursday playlist on Spotify (the theme = "we throw it back to 2003 - 15 years ago!"). It was included pretty low down (55th out of 70 songs), but nevertheless its exposure in this playlist was enough for it to climb from being Emma's 4th most popular song, to 2nd.
The GH is holding up pretty well it's been between 55-70 for the past couple of days.
So eager to hear about what they're up to. I can't wait anymore.
Spotify's Throwback Thursday playlist today has an International Women's Day theme. Wannabe is the second song on the playlist (60 songs are included overall).
Wannabe was #90 in the UK Spotify chart on Friday, with 70,430 streams.
Also:
#84 Ireland
#122 Hungary
#184 France
#191 Belgium
~~~~~
UK iTunes:
#276, #481 - Mama
#810 - Wannabe
#812 - Stop
#1050 - Who Do You Think You Are
#1389 - Viva Forever
#71 - Greatest Hits
#706 - Spice
I love they have songs for Xmas and Mother's day that get loads of exposure every year.
The GH up to #49 on UK itunes
Mama currently #140 & #175 on iTunes, not sure if either version went higher than that yesterday because I didn’t check!
Mother's day helped the GH streaming wise as it re-enters Apple Music album chart at #191. Plus being #49 on itunes. It was also promoted for Mother's day as part of HMV's 2 for £10 classic albums.
Should comfortably make a 6th consecutive week in the top 200 this week which is amazing and also scary it is coming up for 6 weeks since the pic of the 5 of them.
Greatest Hits
#75 - UK
Wannabe has crossed over 230m streams on Spotify!
Spice Up Your Life was included as the first song on last week's TBT playlist, it's helped it climb to third in their popular 10 songs list (it had been behind Say You'll Be There for a few weeks).
Who Do You Think You Are is included on today's TBT play list, but quite low down (35th song out of 80).
Emma's What I Am is also included! It's in 28th position. It's the Radio Edit version of the track, which currently has 334,047 streams.
Speaking of Emma, two of her songs will soon cross over 1m streams on Spotify. What I Am (the A Girl Like Me album version) is on 999,689, while Take My Breath Away is on 990,106.
Another week, another Spice inclusion on the Throwback Thursday UK Spotify playlist! The theme this week is "Near misses... No. 2 chart classics!", so therefore Stop is included. It's the 22nd song out of 50.
Greatest Hits is at #40 in the UK iTunes chart currently (if you remove ineligible compilations, it's the 30th best selling artist album), while Wannabe is #892, Stop is #901 and Viva Forever is #1229.
I haven't been closely following the iTunes album chart recently to know how long it's been this high again for. Mel B's been on Loose Women this week, there's been more Spice Girls reunion rumours, and Spiceworld The Movie has been shown on the Sony Movie Channel recently.
Thank you, Jay.
I missed Googlebox the other night. Nice to see Spiceworld was featured in an episode. GH was at #37 earlier today, it's great that it's doing so well
Greatest Hits
UK - #21
Great to see it so high up! It's within the Top 200 midweeks too, so let's keep our fingers crossed that it holds on for tomorrow's charts.
'When You're Gone' (Bryan Adams feat. Melanie C) is included in the UK Spotify Throwback Thursday playlist today, but only 45th out of 50 songs.
"Best of British" playlist is currently being promoted on Spotify's front page, because of Harry & Meghan's wedding. Wannabe is track 4 out of 250 songs!
I'll be posting a full Spotify update for the group and solo singles today! The last group update I did was 24th February 2018, solo was 1st July 2017 (I posted that on DenDen though, so this'll be the first solo update I post on BuzzJack).
'Let's Groove' & 'Cosmic Shower (Lost Humanity)' charity singles are not available on Spotify.
'Room for Love' wasn't yet a single when I last updated this list, so I don't know how much it's increased by.
10,331,439 - 'Scream If You Wanna Go Faster' Album Version (+3,429,433)
311,071 - Radio Edit (+4)
Notes:
'Look at Me' single version [4:10 length] was originally on Spotify (40,296 streams as of 1st July 2017), but it's been removed from the single, and replaced with the album version [4:32]. The increase in stream count since my last update is for the album version only. I have also discovered a Radio Edit [3:32 length] that has 13,720 streams, but it's not available to play i.e. it's not available on UK Spotify and possibly not in other countries.
The Radio Edit of 'It's Raining Men' is no longer available to stream in the UK, although it achieved 4 streams since the last update which suggests it must be available somewhere!
The album version of 'Scream If You Wanna Go Faster' has been removed from Spotify, and replaced with the single version. In my last update the album version had 428,584 streams and the single version had 17,706, but now the single version shows as having 674,363. I'm not sure whether the stream counts from both versions are now combined into the single version? I've decided to just to take into account the 428,584 figure as the last update and that it's increased by 245,779.
'Calling (Au Nom De L'Amour) has been streamed 36,254 (+8,055 since last update).
'Half of Me' is most likely only available to stream in Australia/New Zealand.
Hi Jay
Thanks for the update.
Is this UK or worldwide?
Love this info
You're welcome, guys! It's worldwide figures.
Whenever I next do an update I'll be interested to see if Out of Your Mind grows into more of a success on streaming / gets streamed more than NSAIG. It's a pity that it was absent from UK Spotify (and maybe other countries) for so long. Hopefully at some point it'll be included in a Throwback Thursday playlist and boost its stream count.
Also a shame that This Groove / Let Your Head Go aren't available (never available to download either as far as I'm aware). I wonder who has ownership of those songs these days?
Greatest Hits is back on Spotify in the UK *.*
Wannabe has also passed 250m streams!
Justice for Voodoo!
2 Become 1 has crossed over 30 million streams on Spotify! 30,028,957.
I'm a bit irritated that there's been some sort of mistake made on Spotify - Say You'll Be There now shows up with the Japanese for "Single Mix" in its tag, and there's Japanese in the Forever album title too. Makes me not want to play them, given that they scrobble like that to Last.fm! D:
The GH is at #113
Spotify still haven't removed Japanese characters from Say You'll Be There / Forever. Seems like they won't any time soon, it's been like this for about 3 months lol.
Stop has moved up to third in their Popular Top 10 list. It's the second song in the "All Out 90s" play list so that must be helping it along.
Spice Girls are now the cover image for the All Out 90s playlist on Spotify!
Jay you need to do a Spotify update before Nov 5th!
I definitely will! *.*
with the upcoming reunion and the small possibility of new material/new release, do you think the girls would fare better in the streaming era? I know they did well on cherry picks of the Greatest Hits in 2007, but the downloads for Headlines were pretty disappointing compared to CDs. Do you think anything would be different this time around? I know Headlines broke records for YouTube, that would have been a huge help in the charts these days.
Headlines was too much of a grower . They need an instant smash .
The 3 studio albums have all been removed from iTunes.
Wonder what it means? Is new deluxe re releases with unheard tracks too much to hope for?
How curious! I hope that ends up being the case. They're currently still available to download on Amazon.
The albums are back
The Greatest Hits is on #136 in the UK iTunes above Drake's latest album and Jess Glyne's new album. This is good!
Do we know if it has been charting in the official charts at all lately?
Funnily enough, Sam Smith and Taylor’s albums from last year were reduced at HMV to £4.99 in London last week, where as ‘Spice’ was £5.99 and the GH is always included in the 2 for £10 with all of the other classic albums and Greatest Hits/compilations.
I'm hoping at some point there will be a discussion on any other projects in addition to the tour, but I guess they have just given the fans what they've wanted for so long.
What's great is they have Jonathan Ross on Saturday to keep the ball rolling and sales coming.
Fingers crossed it keeps the album up on itunes, such a shame the album isn't more prominent in supermarkets I never see it anywhere other than HMV.
Will be great to see it back on the chart which looks good to happen now. Do we know UK sales for the greatest hits so far?
Wow at GH getting as high as 6! Would be amazing, if it could stay top 10 all week, with the rest of the promo
And even bigger Wow at Forever. Surely it must have sold around 100 copies this week!? Which im not being sarcastic, is great for an album that failed to connect when released 18 years ago with the gp.
This new interest should help the album to officially make double platinum sales.
Greatest Hits managed to get as high as #5 as of midday
I really hope it holds onto the Top 10 for the rest of the week! Jonathan Ross / the tickets going on sale should keep the GH afloat into next week.
R2 have played Stop, Spice Up, Say and Who? and Wannabe this morning.
The difference between Forever and the other albums is huge. The fans just discount it from the catalogue.
WOW at Greatest Hits reaching number four. These girls need to reissue, tag on an unreleased and Never Give Up On The Good Times and hit the supermarket shelves!!
iTUNES UK
GH holding steady at #4 for a few hours now
Both Spice and Spice World hanging on pretty well in the 30-50 sections since yesterday as well...
Do we know vaguely how albums in the top50 of itunes tend to sell these days?
This may seem shocking, but it’s likely less than 20 sales per day. Meanwhile the region that Forever has been lingering around likely represents 3 or 4 sales per day, tops.
Meanwhile Greatest Hits at #4-#7 indicates less than 200 sales per day.
Sales suck right now it's so depressing!
Ps great to see Spiceworld charting higher, the far superior album should have sold double what Spice managed, I mean come on Spice up your life, Stop and Viva forever all utter masterpieces! The whole is album is 10/10
I tend to agree that Spice World is a better album overall, but that is ONLY because Mama and Wannabe are in Spice - two songs that really damage its quality for me.
Anyway, happy that it is still charting today
Last time lover as well (not here for the Wannabe hate though!). To be honest I like all the songs on the album but:
All 9/10
- Love thing
- Something kinda funny
- Naked
All 8/10
Last time lover
While Spiceworld
All 10/10
- Spice up your life
- Never give up on the good times
- Do it
- Denying
- Viva forever
All should be 10/10 but I'll say 9.5/10
- Saturday nights divas
- Move over
Spiceworld is vastly superior.
OMG Last Time Love is a BOP!!
Amazing, hope the hype keeps going and they can get a top 40 placement next week!
so so proud of them. Just wish Greatest Hits was bigger on streaming, missed a trick not getting physicals in the shops!
I think this week is highly likely to be its best ever showing on streaming! It’s definitely a shame that the label didn’t restock the CDs, that’s ultimately what will hinder it from a great chart position on Friday. Who would have ever thought it would be physicals that would ever let the Spice Girls down?
Edit: Thankfully the CD is now back in stock on Amazon!
I've actually joined Spotify (although not as a paid member) and have been streaming the GH. Didn't realise you could stream music for free I've been listening to all sorts that I am curious about but don't want the album!
GH STILL AT #1
Spice #38
Spiceworld #42
Forever #81
Like, I know that is probably less than 500 copies between them all, but STILL it is nice to see all the albums in the chart!
It's awesome seeing them back at #1 on some kind of chart (kinda like I celebrated Melanie C getting to #1 on physicals with Anymore - thank god it got somewhere on something haha).
Also it really shows their power when you think Westlife also had a big comeback announcement a few weeks ago and tickets sold out really fast for them too, yet none of their albums got to #1 on itunes, let alone 3 in the top 40 at one point and 4 in the top 90. It's a real testament to them regardless of how low sales are right now. I just hope they are doing well on streaming too fingers crossed.
Is there anyway to see the streaming chart?
By the way, I'll post a full Spotify update soon (the total plays & increases since last update).
YAY Thank you JAY!
FOREVER being inside the Top 75 is such a little gem
It will be amazing to see how the albums are all impacted on during this era!
I also wonder what - if any - impact on solo albums/songs the reunion might have... Will be nice to see if there is any over the next year or so...
^ I noticed Northern Star was within the Top 1500 a few days ago! Think it was hovering around the 1100 position for a bit. Would have only been a couple of sales I suppose, ha.
Spotify monthly listeners is currently 6,374,713, making them 419th most listened to. I think that's the highest they've been so far!
26 hours at #1 I wonder how much longer it can hold on? Tomorrow their interview on Lorraine airs (sometime from 8:30am to 9:25am) so hopefully that'll give it a boost.
Can't believe it's still #1 on itunes, I was pleased it got there thought it would drop like a stone within a few hours, this is excellent!
Brilliant to see the studio albums doing well on streaming too, hopefully it’s the same story on Spotify (there’s no Spotify album charts unfortunately).
how do they differentiate the difference between a single and an album for steams on spotify?
for example if i streamed the Greatest Hits version of Say You'll Be There, would it go toward a single stream sale or album stream sale?
^ I actually have no idea how they do that! Maybe it goes to both?
Monday Midweeks
#22 - Greatest Hits
#75 - Spice
Wow!
Sadly a lack of physical sales is really letting the Greatest Hits down. It's the 5th best selling download of the week so far, and also the 19th most streamed album. Whereas of the 200 albums in the midweeks, it's only the 96th best selling physical.
Greatest Hits is still #1 on iTunes!
Say You'll Be There & Forever have finally lost the erroneous Japanese text from their tags on Spotify. Thank goodness!
Edit: The Japanese for "Single Mix" still remains on the Greatest Hits and Single uploads, but it's gone from the Spice version.
In this post I'm using the streaming figures I noted down from 5th November, which is the date the tour announcement occurred - so these streams are from before the effect of the reunion. Unfortunately I forgot to note down Headlines' figure though lol, so I've left that out.
My next post will show the stream increases that the songs have achieved over the past 7 days (apart from Headlines, that'll be its increase since 5th July 2018).
Thanks Jay, I hope you get lots of sales and certifications for the spice girls in 2019 and more tat for your shelf of gayness.
😘😘😘 I hope so too
Apparently the GH is #38 in the album charts at the min! Fingers crossed for a top 40 position by Friday!!
Goodbye is back in their Spotify Popular Top 10, at #10, knocking out Holler!
Cute but Holler deserves to be in their TOP 5
Where did the GH chart??
GH charted one place higher than last week and is at #43
Damn was hoping for another week in the top 40! So close. What's that then about another 5000 sales?
All five of the girls had solo songs feature in yesterday's Throwback Thursday playlist on Spotify!
Look at Me (in 16th position)
What I Am (20th) - Radio Edit
I Turn to You (25th) - Album Version
Not Such an Innocent Girl (33rd)
Word Up (40th) - Soundtrack Version
streaming queens!
Get those streams and sales girls!
Spice Girls Spotify has a new playlist! It was created on 14th February. Initially its theme was 90s Love Songs for Valentine's Day, but now it's been changed to "BRIT AWARDS: GIRL POWER", including 45 songs by women who've won or been nominated at the Brit Awards.
Glad they are using their social media to get more streaming finally.
Thanks for posting the playlists
Spice Girls WDYTYA is the #1 track on Spotify's TBT playlist today
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWXF8Nf1uycDZ
Great! I wonder if it could get enough of a boost to climb into their Top 5 most popular songs on Spotify
Love that they used Geri as the main pic too! I feel like as time goes by Spice Girls only get more and more iconic!
WDYTYA made it into the Spotify Top 200 at #173
Their monthly listeners on Spotify is the highest it has ever been at 6,946,569. That puts them as the 419th on the highest listeners list.
Baby Please Don't Stop - #52.
it's odd she doesnt seem to be posting the link to download it. It should easily make top 10 on iTunes though especially with a performance tonight
BPDS - #40
BPDS - #32
Well, at least The One performance should get it into the top 20, maybe even top ten for a brief moment?
I honestly cant believe she didn't link to iTunes and Spotify on social media. I know she wants to flog album pre-orders but even hardcore fans weren't sure if it was out as it just seems like she dropped a video to promote album pre-orders.
What a shame she could have tweeted it going top 10 on iTunes which I think it would have if handled properly.
Seems stuck at #31 for the time being. Oh well. I guess it might rise with The One show.
Looks like BPDS peaked at #25 on iTunes as it's down to #27 now. Oh well.
Let's see what else she got in store in terms of promo! #25 on itunes with not much promo is ok, I guess.... But I would hope she continues to be out there
Spotify monthly listeners is currently at 6.991 million
They've also changed their Spotify icon image and header too
Fingers crossed they hit 7m monthly listeners tomorrow, 6,991m is their highest ever already.
Loving the picture changes! I didn’t think the 2007 picture was a good representation of them.
Baby Please Don't Stop is at #3 in Emma's Popular list on Spotify! It's had 32,137 streams so far. It needs to be on playlists... I'm still disappointed it wasn't included on New Music Friday.
I wish Universal would sort out her presence on streaming and digital sites worldwide. A lot of countries only have A Girl Like Me.
I mean, she was always going to bomb on streaming but it would be nice to see them at least make an effort, but maybe they just feel it's a waste of resources.
7,000,520 monthly listeners for the Spice Girls on Spotify, first time they have ever cracked 7m.
Emma's Baby please don't stop video is on 106k views, which is ok. I checked Room for love which got a lot of press having Vic and co in the video and that is on 180k.
I feel if the song was stronger it would have received more support from streaming . The song is forgettable after just a couple of days of being released.
Thank you Jay for clarifying that.
I don't have premium Spotify so apart from listeners I can't see follower or listening count for songs.
Just noticed that Baby Please Don't Stop is included on the Spotify playlist "A Perfect Day". It has 537,000+ followers, however, she's only 66th in the list out of 80 songs. I suppose it's better than nothing~
64,386 streams so far, and is showing as second in her Popular list, behind What Took You So Long?.
There's a new Spotify play list called "Girl Power" with Spice Girls used as the cover, but it only has 590 followers so far! It includes Wannabe & Spice Up Your Life amongst other female artist songs from the 90s and 00s. Hopefully it'll be promoted on International Women's Day on Friday.
Lizzo!
I was listening to this playlist on my way to work this morning, what on earth is that cover of Sisters Are Doing it for Themselves?!
Wannabe is track number 2 on the Throwback Thursday playlist, Look at me is half way down and Not such an innocent girl 2nd to last, it is because of international Women's day tomorrow.
I'm sure Wannabe will be in the Spotify top 200 tomorrow.
Also they removed the Cardi B, M.I.A and Bea Miller songs for some reason!
Stop (34,529,700) now has more streams on Spotify than Spice Up Your Life (34,523,259), meaning that Stop is now the most streamed Spiceworld song!
Interesting, specially as Spice Up Your Life is one of their big banners, but it is really nice for Stop to have been standing the test of time. Such a great track that deserved better in the charts at the time!
Hope it gets to be platinum eventually.
Emma's Spotify is also growing.
Last month she had 129,000 or so listeners and she is now on 153,782
Wannabe is #125 on the UK spotify chart with 67,185 plays. This was thanks to being on the Throwback Thursday playlist.
Interesting the update I got has SUYL selling 16k since Nov, when you look at this you can see Stop is doing almost twice as many streams as SUYL. I really want Stop platinum!
Their Spotify monthly listeners has risen again to 7,110,584 that is now their highest ever.
Quite a big increase! *.* Glad they're gradually becoming stronger on streaming
#88 - Greatest Hits (iTunes)
7,126,991 monthly listeners in Spotify another record number for them. So pleased to see this keep on increasing.
Spotify monthly listeners up again 7,139,558.
So pleased to see their streaming increasing.
Queens of Spotify!
Emma's Too Many Teardrops is now within Emma's popular Top 5 on Spotify, at #5. 12,627 streams so far.
iTunes GH
#77 Australia
#88 UK
I do wonder how the Spice Girls solo careers would have gone if they had been 20 years later in the streaming era. Would we be seeing #1 albums ala One Direction and huge sales from streaming data? Or would their sales be even smaller than they actually are?
The GH is currently #54 on UK iTunes.
Emma has now increased her monthly listeners to 180,000 from the 120,000 she had pre-album announcement. It's a good development.
Same for Spices - now at 7,154,474
Glad to see the GH back in the iTunes chart top75 too - hope that keeps it steady within the top200 come tomorrow eh
GH up to #48 on UK iTunes not sure what is causing the rise?
2 Become 1 has passed 40 million streams on Spotify! Currently on 40,013,159.
Emma's monthly listeners are up to 191,500!
Emma's monthly listeners on Spotify has increased to 208,000
Great to see her pass 200k!
I know this is mentioned every time Emma's Spotify is mentioned, but I still wish Virgin and Universal could make the effort to get her music available worldwide. I wonder if there's a way that fans can bring this to their attention?
iTunes in Mexico - I wonder why it’s appeared again and how many copies that would be?
#48 - Spiceworld
#54 - Spice
Forever is currently #1 in Jordan
http://www.icharts.co.za/jo/music/topalbums
YAY
Finally JUSTICE for Forever it's hit #1 somewhere, quick someone edit their Wikipedia page!!!
I'm really interested to know how the iTunes charts work nowadays.
For example 'Forever' is currently #1 on the album charts in Jordan. How long does it have to stay at #1 before it's classed as a 'No.1 record"?
Is it purely by spending one day at the top or an entire week?
Some countries don't even have a proper album chart yet albums appear on the iTunes Kworb charts (even though the sales will only be a few)
The GH has appeared again on the album charts in Ireland
GH
#31 iTunes
#147 Apple Music
That is the effect of the extra tickets going on sale for Croke park tomorrow.
UK iTunes chart -
Greatest hits - #49
Mama - #78 and #130
Kworb has Mama at #76 and #130 at the moment
Digital sales data has both versions listed with combined sales of 99 sales on iTunes so far.
I’m glad that the GH has risen
Amazon bestsellers the Greatest Hits is #98.
Mama was such a smart move for the girls, getting those trickle sales every year
Their only big mistake was not releasing an original novelty Christmas hit. They really should have released one in 1999 'Spice up your Christmas' or something, would hopefully have got them their 4th consecutive Christmas #1 which would have got more playtime than their current Christmas #1's do and potentially have done what the likes of Step into Christmas, Last Christmas, One more sleep, All I want for Christmas etc etc etc do every year...
(As a bonus it would also have hopefully prevented Westlife for getting that Xmas #1 which would have stopped their run of #1's meaning Spice Girls would still have the most consecutive from debut single lol.)
They could have at least have tacked one on as a double a-side release to one of the 3 Xmas #1's they did have.
I still think add some festive bells to 2 become 1 in a 2019 xmas mix and it would be on every xmas playlist on spotify and get loads of sales.
Totally agree.
I don't care for Chritmas or songs about it tbh but since they did Mama, I would have thought they had tried to go for a Christmas song at least as a b-side. They could have totally done a Christmas single in 1999 and have like a b-side cover of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.
Agree that an original Christmas song was a missed opportunity. I guess they thought covers for B Sides was enough, but they should have gone further than that!
2 Become 1 is sort of their honorary Christmas song (the music channels love playing it at Christmas time), but like Sammy says, a Christmas mix would surely do wonders for them on streaming. The sleigh bells in East 17's Stay Another Day is essentially the only reason that it ended up being embraced as a Christmas classic, because lyrically it has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas!
Emma Bunton/Jade Jones - 'You're All I Need to Get By' is at #8 in Emma's Spotify Popular top 10 list. It's managed 7,043 streams since Friday.
This is what all of their Spotify popular lists look like currently:
Nice to see Walkaway in Geri's top ten.
Melanie C's is hilarious 3 songs taking up 6/10
I'm surprised When You're Gone isn't included in her top 10, also thought Loving You might be in her top 10 too.
I'm always slightly astounded at how well I know him so well does, its YouTube views are very high too.
I guess it would be her biggest UK seller these days from her RGR releases.
I mean weekly sales not in total for IKHSW.
For some reason the Spice Girls Kworb Charts are showing Chart positions which are not just in the Top 100/200
GH up 159 places and is at #272 on iTunes in the USA
I wonder what the total sales are. Their label/management need to update their RIAA certified albums and singles
Interesting to see where their albums and songs rank on Apple music outside the top 200.
There's currently a compilation album out called 'Magic 90s' and it's also available on Spotify.
Spice Girls are track #4 with Say You'll Be There which makes a nice change from Wannabe.
Also saw this CD in the supermarket and seemed quite popular as a Mother's Day gift. Hope it gets some streams
Baby Please Don't Stop is now #94 on iTunes, so nice that it seems to be rising at this point in the week.
I wonder how those amount of streams would translate into sales/units?
103 now
I wonder what made it creep back up on Tuesday evening ?
I think it would have been its brief play on This Morning that helped, it re-entered the iTunes Top 100 early this afternoon!
Emma was on BBC London 6.30pm news too which played a clip of BPDS.
Don't call me baby is defo screaming out to get sent to radio 2 and a video made.
GH - #87
Spiceworld - #700 😁 (I wonder how many sales that is)
I hope SW picks up a few thousand sales during the tour
I mean, even the girls seem touchy about reissuing their solo material - remember a couple of years ago when Schizophonic was going to get a re-release and Geri put a stop to it, supposedly due to her releasing new solo material (ha, ha). Emma releasing new solo material would've been a good way to also get her other solo stuff out there.
L.A. State of Mind was weirdly re-issued on a different label but no one cares about that.
I think it was re-issued, I remember LASOM having a new released date for the re-issue and everything.
It honestly wasn't re-issued, it's the exact same copies from 2005. http://ultimatespice.online.fr/ only lists the original releases for it, and they're always on top of every single version of Spice releases that there is.
The 2009 date on Amazon probably represents the moment that Nova started to redistribute the unsold copies.
Saturday Night Divas is their second most streamed album track overall & since the last update - so it not being included on the set list was quite a snub really.
Interesting that The Lady Is A Vamp has been streamed less times over the past few months than five of the album tracks they didn't perform (Saturday Night Divas, Move Over, Last Time Lover, Naked & Denying). Maybe they overestimate the popularity of that one. I get that it lends itself to a showy performance, but hmm. If they ever tour again, I really wouldn't mind if they retired The Lady Is A Vamp... or maybe include it as a short interlude that only retains the best bit of the song (the final chorus and outro~).
Thank you Jay for all of the amazing work you share for us. Much appreciated.
I’m shocked at ‘Naked’ being the least streamed album track on the ‘Spice’ album, it’s sacrilege, haha. Even ‘Last Time Lover’ has received more streams.
You're welcome *.* I'm quite surprised that Naked is lagging quite far behind the other Spice album tracks too!
It's still sad to see Goodbye so far behind their other 90s singles
I'm a bit that Atomic Kitten's The Tide Is High has more streams on Spotify than any Spice Girls song bar Wannabe. It has 46,400,329 streams! It's on the All Out 00s playlist, the 2nd song out of 100, I assume that's why it's so popular. To be fair Stop is the 1st song on the All Out 90s playlist, but that "only" has 4,529,677 followers compared to All Out 00s 6,969,484.
I always mention YouTube on here as it seems easier but interesting to see Wannabe at 415M views. It passed the 400M mark in late May so it's doing really well
Wow Saturday Night Diva's really was snubbed on the tour when you look at that!
I get the feeling it's not one of the tracks the girls are hugely fond of when you think they didn't perform it on the Spiceworld tour either, I think it's aged really well though.
Spice Girls have reached 8 million listeners on Spotify!
5th overall for a girl group
Little Mix - 16.9M
Blackpink - 10.5M
Destiny's Child - 10.2M
Fifth Harmony - 9.1M
Spice Girls - 8M
Nice that it is back up again! They lost well over 1million post tour
Stop has now passed over 50million streams and it has passed 2 Become 1 to be their second best streamed track
I do love it that Stop really stood the test of time and has become quite the classic on their discography! Specially for a single that was seen as the beginning of their decline (only because it didnt go to #1 like the previous ones).
Wannabe should pass the 400million mark soon. Goodbye and Holler deserve much better than the attention they get tho
Well done Stop *.* I’m glad it’s achieving good streaming, it’ll make Stop a platinum record someday
Agree! It's criminal that it is not yet a Platinum record tbh
Something that only I could probably care about lol - for years most of their singles on Spotify had their year of release set as being 2007, but at some point last month, the dates have been changed to their actual years of release. Much more tidy!
I only wish that some of their solo pages were given a bit more love and organisation. Emma being the worst offender considering that some of her albums are still not available worldwide, and most of her singles are missing!
The SG Spotify page has finally put all of the singles in the correct order (my ocd is very happy about this)
Tbh they are loosing Spotify listeners FAST!
