I have re-started up my old Swift Instagram fan account (and I still have +900 followers somehow despite getting hacked and posting shit for a year and a half ) so hopefully that'll bring more people here!
(also I am going through my old DM's and I was sending Taylor multiple pictures of drawings I did of her a few years ago!!!!)

Taylor's case has helped an abuse hotline see an increase in use.

Taylor's been nominated for a Country Music Award for Song Of The Year as the sole writer of Better Man by Little Big Town I feel it's between her and Miranda Lambert fro Tin Man, Sam Hunt's Body Like A Back Road is by far the biggest hit on the list though so he could get it too. It'd be fab for her to get it in this pop era, still slaying the country world *.*

Vanessa Carlton has come for Taylor with some utterly idiotic message on her instagram story.
This kind of stuff just irritates me so much. Where was Vanessa commenting on when Taylor had her court case or when Taylor gave money to Kesha to help her again? so hypocritical. And the Gwyneth comment has aged really badly for obvious reasons.

Taylor has spoken out against gun violence on instagram and gave a donation towards the March For Our Lives campaign. I'm glad she's spoken out against this and hopefully this will make more people aware about the problem/stop the people who do nothing but bash Taylor for having no opinions on real world events

Taylor has signed a new record deal with Republic Records and Universal Music Group. Her deal states that she will own all of the master recordings that she makes from now on, and she has also made UMG agree that any future sales of shares in Spotify will be distributed amongst their artists.

So I was driving across Ohio all weekend and discovered these signs were displayed on every interstate in Ohio as part of Taylor's new promo strategy an anti-speeding campaign
ODOT even confirmed they're using the signs to promote Taylor (and safe driving)
Based on how many I saw there's probably 100 total if not more!

But certain artists on this site are getting an entire discography listen and Taylor is one of them!
I’ve decided that I’m much less familiar with her first four albums so I’m listening to them all and then doing a rate.
I’ll start at some point this week! But will post thoughts on each of them and then do a rank at the end to see what comes out on top.

I’ve just purchased fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989 on CD on eBay got them all for under £9!
I already had digital copies of both Red and 1989 and I have her three most recent albums on CD I got them all on release day.
Feel like a Stan now! It would be nice to have her debut album too just to complete a collection but I just don’t have a desire to hear it again

I cba to start a new thread yet for probably another false rumour but the Glastonbury Livestream is tonight and there's a hella lot of rumours that Taylor is a surprise guest/surprise headliner. It does make sense as we know she's in the UK (idk if its live or pre-recorded but either/or would work), she was ofc meant to be headlining Glastonbury last year and she did drop Glastonbury in her BRITS speech, but we'll see!

Didn’t know where else to post this but does anyone else feel it’s possible once every albums been re released she’ll remove the originals from streaming and only keep the re releases? It feels a bit premature to do it now because we still have four re releases to go but I have a hunch once she owns every album of hers she could chose to get rid of the ones she doesn’t own? I think I read something about some radio stations too only playing the re releases as well.

I’ve seen things on Twitter but don’t know what’s confirmed and what’s not. I definitely feel it’s something Taylor herself would want to do and she’s such a powerful force I could see it happening but only when the final re-release has happened.
I myself am only listening to the re recorded versions of Fearless and Red now and will switch to the re releases of the other albums once they’re out there too. I know some fans may feel too attached emotionally to the OG versions though.

This is quite an interesting article about how the two versions of Fearless have been streamed since the re-recording. It seems that Taylor’s version of Fearless has merely struck a blow to Scooter Braun and the original recording. I think that would suggest that as long as people are streaming the original version still, Taylor will find it very difficult to remove. Honestly though, I don’t think it is about money for Taylor - it’s about pride and that fact that she can say she fully owns the masters of the songs she wrote (Even if it meant she had to re-record them all). And so perhaps she won’t be bothered about the original still being out there.

I think for the re-recordings to get majority of streams maybe playlisting may have to put the re-recorded tracks on playlists if they haven’t already. Don’t know too much on that side of streaming as I never listen to music via playlists unless it’s a Friday and I’m giving new releases a listen. Will be interesting over time.
In the UK she’s always charting with 1989 from her material she doesn’t own yet. I did notice the Fearless re-release charted again this week though which was a nice surprise. I think Reds re-release UK wise will hold up pretty well chart wise against the original and I imagine her debut and Speak Now definitely will as they were kinda under the radar releases in the UK compared to her back catalogue it’s 1989 where the original may still be around as it’s such a streaming force but hopefully the re releases all take over! We can dream.

I think you make some interesting points there. Fearless charted inside the top 100 for 64 weeks While Taylor Swift and speak now only charted for 3 weeks and 9 weeks. As you pointed out, 1989 is still charting and has been for 225 weeks. It will be interesting to see which of the recordings are more successful with regards to streaming of the re-recording versus streaming of the original and if this is matched to the originals popularity.
But ultimately, as you’ve mentioned, Playlists and the like will determine the re-recordings fates because the general public are likely to stream the first available version/what’s most convenient. They aren’t going to worry about whether or not it is Taylor’s version.

I've seen loads of people saying something is going to happen to do with Speak Now or 1989 either tomorrow or New Year's Day, as the release dates for those albums have been changed to January 1st on Spotify & Apple Music (and there's a few other little things people are picking up on). Probably just people clowning again but thought I'd mention it in case anything does happen

I’ve been looking at Spotify and Apple Music and can’t work this out. Also been researching but haven’t found anything yet.
What I did find out on my search though: Taylor is the number one most streamed female artist globally in 2021. And she was the first artist to have three albums sell over 1 million units in the us in 2021 (Evermore, Red TV & Fearless TV).
Would be Uber exciting if this is true though. But I’m still listening to Red so I hope it’s an announcement for a spring release!! Lol

There's rumours that something might be announced/dropped next Friday (it seems like a big star is releasing something and most people are speculating its Taylor or Beyonce). And I believe it cos next week is like the first week since Red's release that I'm very likely not going to be around at all

I'm seeing a lot of rumours that announcement on Thursday 14th and album on Friday the 13th May, with these two dates being hinted quite a lot over recent interviews/social media. Also seeing people saying its TS10 and not another re-recording I'm lowkey starting to think that we're gonna get something! She's been far too quiet recently

This is at least the second time my state has used a Taylor Swift lyric for a statewide campaign on every interstate. Four years ago they used 'You Need To Calm Down' on its release weekend for something about not driving over the speed limit. I've yet to see them use lyrics from any other artist, only Taylor!

I remember asking this somewhere before the “Taylors Version” albums were released but next year once she owns all of her music what will happen? Will the original versions of her first 6 albums be removed from streaming sites?
I had a feeling before that she’d take them off once the they were released but now I’m wondering if she’s waiting until they’re all out there (or can she not actually remove them if she doesn’t own them).

She has zero control over what happens with the stolen versions! It's up to us fans to just keep streaming the TV's instead of the SV's when they're available. Unfortunately, they still make way too much money off of the SV's to stop selling them completely.
Essentially, the only morally correct way it'll be ok to stream/buy the SV's once the TV's are all recorded and out there is if Scooter and co allow Taylor to buy them off of them.

Interesting! I thought because at one point she didn’t have her music on Spotify (or streaming) at all she may have some say.
I’d imagine the Taylor’s Versions may overtake as well they seem to have done that with the ones we’ve had so far in the UK at least but 1989 was such a era and to many her magnum opus that the original of that may always sell higher in trickle sales and streams than anything else she’ll re-record.
It’s so interesting to see how this has actually happened and turned out so well though. I wonder if it will make anyone else in similar positions do something similar (although with Taylor she really is the main writer of her music so I completely get and agree she should own her masters). Many people may have never delved into her catalogue the way they have had this not happened though so it’s not all bad.

at that time her masters hadnt been sold to an external party, but now they have, so at the time she could control that. hopefully yeah the tvs will overtake though!

I wonder if anything’s gonna happen in the rest of this month, feels like so many things could potentially happen (or will def happen in 2023) (but low-key doubt any of them will):
- still no post celebrating the LA shows?! Could be saving it for an announcement with something - Cruel Summer video (hopefully) - cruel summer remix (hopefully not) - The delulu Lover deluxe theories for the 4th anniversary (I need Need tho) - 1989 song (tho if we get a pre-release I think it would be at the VMAs next month) - tour box scores released - You’re Losing Me release (think this might be more likely for Midnights’ anniversary) - something to happen at her Mexico dates next week? (Which are her final tour dates until November)

So I’ve only ever listened to a handful of Taylor’s albums in full. 1989 TV, Speak Now, Midnights and Fearless. I was thinking of going through and doing a full in listen through of all 10 albums, starting in the new year.
Should I wait for the last two TV albums to be released?
I’d aim to start a thread and do a little review for each album and an overall rank as well.
I did this with P!nk’s albums at the start of this year and I really enjoyed it.

I think I will do them all, original first then after that the Taylor’s Versions once the last 2 are released.
I thought it’d be a lot doing 20 albums, then realised there’ll only be 6 TV, so that’s 16 in total.
I’ll be doing them in release order and will be aiming to start late December or early in the New Year.

We for sure want to listen to the new re-recordings only as they come up. I think the majority of fans will only be listening to the new recordings out of loyalty to Taylor. I’d love the old versions to go but Scooter Braun paid a lot of money for the masters of the first 6 albums and he and Taylor aren’t exactly on good terms. Despite her power and tenacity, I can only imagine the old versions being made obsolete if they are making virtually no money. It will be an interesting time. I’m really intrigued to see if the re-recordings get streamed the most over time. And I mean get the majority of streams.
