Confirmed on Twitter! ! ! !
oh dear, it better not have lyrics like 'you'r gonna wish you had threads like these, Gucci, Armani, Dior get on your knees'
OMG
HOLD ME
OMFG
SLAY ME HARDCORE
THAT ARTWORK!!
Already well and truly slain.
Imagine the album artwork! *.*
I am very interested to hear this. Don't have high expectations for any commercial success at all but she could come out with something decent, who knows?
I'm ready!!!
Really like the artwork and love her logo. Probably the best solo Aloud logo so far, and to be honest a lot better than most of the GA ones!
Love that artwork! I'm intrigued to hear what this'll be like, as I had her three St Trinian's 2 tracks on loop at one point c. late 2009 ('Too Bad' was my jam).
According to Digital Spy she's going to make it available to stream first before the actual release date...someone at Sony obviously has their thinking cap on there.
Rather interested to see what she'll throw out!
Yas Sarah! I hope it's something like Miss You Bow Wow or On The Metro.
Omg I can't wait !
A summer without a solo GA anthem isn't a good summer.
Available for pre-order from midnight!
Yasssss *.* Hopefully not long before we can stream it!
I can't wait for The Xtra Factor perf slot later this year!
*.*
When do you reckon we'll hear it?
Hopefully before it gets released.
Hopefully this week if it's going up for pre-order tonight!
Sarah Harding @SarahNHarding 7m7 minutes ago
For everyone asking I will post the link for you to hear the track in full around 8am 😘😘😘😊😊😉
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my, I can't wait and at the same time I don't know if my body is ready for it
I'm up and ready!
First opinion: am I alone in thinking it's difficult to hear what the words are in places/at times it sounds like Nicola singing?
I like this.
In before all the hate.
Trash. Love it
That instumental intro is atrocious in every possible way. But bar that bit, I love the song on first listen.
Let's be honest, it sounds dated but in an enjoyable way, and her voice sounds great on it.
It sounds like what Charlotte Church would have released in 2007 on a follow-up album to Tissues & Issues... That SHOULD be a good thing but it's really not awful.
She tweeted that the album is out 7th August? Is she mistaken?
That's so soon for the album if she's not made a mistake but then, this is Sarah...
Threads is absolutely mad but I LOVE it, it's exactly what I wanted from Sarah
This sounds absolutely abysmal on first listen. It sounds like a demo and it's a struggle to understand what the hell she's singing about half the time.
*.* Joseph!
I wasn't sure at first, but with another couple of listens I'm now feeling it. I just ordered the CD single(!!) http://sarahharding.tmstor.es/ merci beaucoup for making me aware of this Joe! It's signed by the way.
I will be pre-ordering the CD single later, my wish coming true of at least one CD from each of them
LOVE.
I enjoy the verses a lot but the pre-chorus and chorus seems like a random mash-up of more than one song and the vocoder effect doesn't sound great!
omg *.*
It's EXACTLY how I imagined a solo Sarah single to sound, rocky and a bit mad!
Pre-ordered the physical too *.* Was worried she wasn't going to bother!
This is a bit of a disaster. Sarah always had the second best voice (After nuhdeen)
It sounds like an unused demo from the SOTU era.
Pretty awful.
I was really rooting for this to be good, but I'm not really feeling it, underwhelmed.
Taking my stan glasses off for a second, I wasn't entirely sure what to think on my first listen to the track, but was totally sold on the second listen so it might prove to be a grower for anyone who's not keen on it right now! Don't write it off just yet *.*
Sarah's gonna be on Radio 2 within the next 10 minutes, get those 'Threads' pre-orders *.*
same. I want to like it but it's just sounding worse and I don't even want to give it a chance anymore because it's clearly not going anywhere for me.
That is awful!
2006 want their song back.
It's so 2007 trashy pop. I'm not sure if I like it, the chorus is messy.
Oh Sarah. I think she's a far better pop star than most people give her credit for, and I was willing this to be decent, but it's exactly the mess I was expecting. Wasn't she working with Xenomania back in 2013? I guess she wanted to carve something out for herself instead of essentially releasing Girls Aloud tracks, but I would have taken Sarah's take on the unreleased Amelia Lily album over this.
HOT MESS.
I cannot wait for a live performance.
Just as bad as I expected it to be.
THAT NICOLA GIF
That instrumental and that chorus, c'mon Sarah. They are pretty abysmal.
I actually do like the verses though. Very similar melodically to 'Long Hot Summer' so I am happy I get some kind of GA throwback involved
I think this is the closest any of them have got to releasing a 'Girls Aloud' song. This could easily have been a b-side during Tangled Up/Out Of Control.
I was thinking more along the lines of 'Dog Without A Bone' and 'It's Your Dynamite'.
And I don't think it's that messy really. It's got a clunky, quirky instrumental but to me that's part of its charm and what gives it a 'Girls Aloud' vibe.
Okay I was very unsure on the first listen but am unashamedly quite liking it a few listens later. Trashy as HELL but very infectious all the same.
I played this on Youtube just now and genuinely assumed the intro was some shit advert at first.
It would be nice to enjoy this on some level because Sarah's always been extremely likeable but I really can't see that happening. Absolute mess. :/
I like it! Got a bit of a 60's thing going on which is a big tick in its favour. I'm glad she's keeping spiritually akin to Girls Aloud with the sound she's going for.
Hmm it's a bit of a mess.. I need to listen again 😁
Didn't even know this was going to be a thing, but I was expecting some fabulous anthemic trash-pop but this is just quite tuneless, sounds cheap and demo-ish and really does nothing for me. Big disappointment
That chorus is so disjointed! It sounded vaguely promising until that, although I wasn't really expecting much anyway.
I enjoyed 'Too Bad', something like that would've been nice.
Was sneak previewed on GMB:
https://instagram.com/p/5OgLfqBKcz/
I'm not very fond of that kind of studio/performance video but that was expected. It doesn't seem to look cheap though and she looks great so who knows, it could work!
Excited for the full thing, hopefully not too long to wait now
That clip looks good! The budget must be quite low understandably but I'm sure it will still have the Sarah touch, it looks that way in the clip.
This is really starting to grow on me but I'm still undecided on it!
The way the host went "wow" after the clip aired sounded like a what the hell was that sort of wow. When is this video suppose to debut?
This is much better on second listen but I think I need to wait for the video before it can fully make an impact on me
*.*
REALLY wish I could go.
!!
I can't wait for the video. If she slays me I can see myself buying last minute tickets to London
Some of those faces
Love the video! Definitely enjoying the song a bit more now but the parts where she is infront of the orange backdrop and then getting up infront of the camera gives me P!nk vibes!
Perfect video for Sarah and the song! It'd be great to see this sneak into the top 100 but sadly I think that might be a little over-ambitious
Whats with the scenes filmed on an iPhone?
I like the song but the amount of "I don't want to admit to myself that it's shit" compliments in this thread is hilarious. Like yes the song and the video are "So Sarah" but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very-Sarah-Harding-concept with shit execution. The video's horrendously directed.
Tried searching for this on youtube, the top suggestion for Sarah is still bum note, I ended up watching that on a loop for 5 minuets.
I was hoping the video would make me like the song more and while the video is ok, I'm finding the song even more of a mess than I did on first listen. Really not good unfortunately
Sarah will be performing 'Threads' live for the first time on Irish TV tonight!
Hopefully there'll be some UK promo next week, even it's just This Morning and Loose Women.
I am ready to be slain *.*
OMG she BROUGHT IT with that perf *.*
The performance was really good, the song honestly seems to work better live than it does in the studio version.
A really solid performance there! The song works very well live I think, she's got the energy too. It's not top 1500 on Irish iTunes though
She's on Sunday Brunch this morning as well! Bringing that promo.
AND she's on The Matt Edmondson Show on Radio 1 today too!
OMG Sarah being awesome on her first solo performance?
Very good vocals and she managed to sing that "The loving kind" note but in tune this time.
A bit too over the place at times gesture wise but she rocked it !
Has she been on Sunday Brunch yet or she's to come? I'm only watching now !
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p02y81hk/the-matt-edmondson-show-sarah-harding-plank-all-over-me
omg Brilliant interview if slightly unique
She's on This Morning tomorrow!
I can't wait to see her at Total Access Live
She was very nice on This Morning, she has such a nice personality, I wish more people got to know her and warm to her. She really deserves big things.
CD dispatched. I'm ready! *.*
Got my CD *.*
Only a 1 track though *_*
http://www.itv.com/lorraine/showbiz/sarah-harding-on-gwen-stefani-and-corrie
Lol this mimed performance has her trending on Facebook!
Seems to be struggling to go higher than #700 on iTunes! Not doing much better than Amelle's single last year, and that would've sold more (as sales were around 15% higher then).
It's doing shocking bad on the singles chart. I was expecting no where near that level. Wow. Bit sad!
But on the plus side she's 29 on EP Album chart on ITunes in UK, and 15 in Ireland. So it'll add up.
Keep streaming it people, press repeat. Costs nothing. 100 streams = 1 sale.
Oh and my CD is here too!!
Ugh. Why go with Threads as the single when the other two are much better?
I wonder what's next for Sarah. Everything seems to have flopped and she doesn't have general public support. Song writing like Nicola?
Just watched the performance on Lorraine, embarrassing. Why the hell did she mime it? She's always been awful at miming, and her live performance on the Irish show was just fine, she doesn't need to mime it. Wrong decision Sarah!
Song now down to 1,200 on iTunes, EP is at 63 in UK. Not good.
The signed CD hasn't sold out either and that was 2,000 copies only limited.
Only 7,800 streams on Spotify so far. Converts to 78 sales.
GET STREAMING AND BUYING ALL FANS.
Every 100 streams counts to 1 sale.
Just listen to thirty seconds and it'll count as a stream.
Each person can stream the song 10 times = 1000 streams and it will count in the charts.
There's no point. No amount of streaming is getting a song that's selling that little into the chart. And frankly it'd be less embarrassing to miss the chart altogether than have a #193 in her discography.
I feel bad for Sarah! Honestly I didn't imagine she'd do this badly with the song - out of the Top 1500 on iTunes within 2 days. :/
I guess this will be it for her solo career then... I can't see an album materialising anymore. I think the main problem is that she completely missed the boat. The time for her to give a solo career a go would have been 2009/10/11, like the others. Suddenly this makes Nadine's Insatiable going to #26 look ok - lol.
I dread to think what the sales will be.
Oh my god that miming was so bad. This whole thing is a mess
I thought this was gonna be a #65 smasher
Whilst this song isn't bad, Sarah's vocal performance really is rather terrible. I'm a HUGE Girls Aloud fan and I have all of the solo albums (minus Kimberley's cover album of tripe), but even I am not interested in downloading this - even illegally.
THAT SAID, I expected it to CHART at least. To see somebody who is still semi well-known miss the Top 700 on iTunes is quite a shock.
The problem with Sarah Harding is she just has a style that puts me in mind of a calcified foot. Replete with cheesy foot smell, and even though Space doesn't usually carry smells, y'all can bet ya dolla that the aliens are still sniffin and cringin under that cheesy pong from the sheer awfulness of ha songs. She just calcified foots ha way into iTunes, mutters someit aboot Threads oe breaking guts or some other beige shet then shuffles out. Bitch, not even like these are real threats, unlike Screech!! (Omg Screech They played it in the supermarket yesterday n I didn't reañise at first What it was as wasn't payin attention n I said to the cashier What kind of utter aqful vocal hell garbage is this!! It was Screeeech!! What a fookin peel of radio cañón fodder slosh snot Screech tryna be Adele!! Even thinkin aboot how my eara were polluted like that with that comercial Adele wannabe Screech, I just can't!)
An bitch, don:t come for Nadine lest you find yoself against the BuffyCharmed an bitch I'll snatch yo gurkin merkin putrid nap an send it to the sugababes as a symbol of yo surrender to their will!
Sorry I don't understand that last post at all!
She sounded great on both tracks !
I saw her on Saturday - genuinely the worst live performance I've ever seen.
^ Was this at G-A-Y?
Not in the Top 100 midweeks.
Shocking.
Keep buying/streaming people.
Does anyone else think shes not really in it for the commercial success and is more of a side project?
Any chance of her having even modest commercial success after delaying her solo career for so long was obliterated when 'Threads' was chosen as the track to launch her. Legitimately one of the worst attempts at a debut single I've ever heard and, harsh as it may be because she's a nice person, she didn't deserve any better than she got with it.
#145 in the midweeks. 93 copies sold yesterday. Oh Sarah
So Sean's copy of the EP from yesterday was one of 43 copies sold Down to #188 in the mids today so absolutely no chance of making the top 200 overall.
Nope, 43 "sales" yesterday overall (downloads/stream/physicals [if she sold any CDs yesterday])
Yup Jay's correct, 43 overall. Such a disaster for Sarah
Oh God I don't know which is worse. 'Threads' performance or the fact I'm stuck with TWO chart geeks modding this forum now.
You won't be modding this forum at all at this rate xxx
sarah16 Adam pls!
So Threads misses the top 200 on sales of 1,637. It did however chart at #2 on the physical single chart with 625 physical copies sold. However that was over 4000 physical copies behind the number one physical single.
Poor Sarah
Best get Cheryl and Nadine locked in a room to sort out their differences
So excited to see her live today!!
That's about what I always expected for her from the outset really.
I think if she had released anything other than 'Threads' it would have been a different result. That was just ... suicidal.
Hopefully Sarah will be pleased that 'Threads' cracked the Top 10 in Jayrusalem and was an OA/OS #1 in Bellamia.
Her setlist today:
Love Machine
Live Before I Die
The Promise
Threads
LBID is so fun live.
'Threads' getting a play on VIVA music channel. *.*
Poor Sarah
I do agree though, for it to have had more of an impact she missed the boat by five years. I'm surprised one of her songs for St Trinian's 2 wasn't a single to be honest, they missed out on that opportunity.
She had promo though. So even without radio play it should have hit the top 75?
One bad performance of the track is hardly gonna sell ~6.5k copies of the track (ie. what is needed for top 75). Radio play on Radio 1 or Capital is the best way to get a chart hit - she had neither. The Girls Aloud fanbase can only get her so far 2 and a half years after the split. I thought it could go top 200 but it's not really a shock that she missed out.
Sarah Harding is evidence that any publicity isn't always good publicity. She's been quite inescapable this year with her appearances on Radio 1, Tumble, Masterchef and Corrie but I believe the latter 3 were slated (understatement in regards to Corrie!). Then the poor girl got the shit ripped out of her for miming in a performance, which is something plenty of artists do but she certainly got it worse. Topping that off with a flop single, it must really suck to be her and I feel tremendously sorry for her!
Will we ever get an actual position for her?
It's VERY rare that they'll reveal a position outside the top 200 so I'd say no.
I'm just glad I've seen her live.
I've seen all 5 in the flesh now
Now all she gets is that X Factor performance and Threads will be number 1
Or not.
For obvious reasons, I expect a huge surge in the popularity of this underrated gem. Future #1 incoming?
What are the obvious reasons?
haha i’ve just posted about this song, it made me think of it, shame it’s not on streaming !
