Definitely in agreement that it feels cut a bit short but VERY anthemic and she sounds amazing. I always forget how much her voice adds to any song because this could really be... an Ava Max song for example, but she's got such a CHARACTER-FULL (not a word but hey) voice that really gives the song a bigger sense of personality.

I'm repeating myself, but the song ending just after it takes off is a choice indeed. I'm sure radio wouldn't mind it being 40 seconds longer. I don't want to playlist it because it just makes me mad

Agreed — the song itself is basic and has been done countless times before but she really does have one of those perfect pop voices. Her vocals in general are massively underrated.

It’s definitely got off to a decent start for a total lack of support which suggests it’s going down quite well! Will keep my fingers crossed this can even just claim a top 40 over time tbh.

Yeah this is definitely a grower. And if nothing else the visuals around this release are MILES ahead of anything she's put her name to since the Prism era. This truly feels like a return to form for her.

Its better than I was expecting, I mean for Alesso its not as good as 'Under Control' or 'If I Lose Myself' which were great, but this is good, Katy sounds good on a dance record again as she did with 'Swish Swish', and if it boosts the popularity of EDM again in America it is also good!

Yep, that's the comparison I made; both progress similarly and finish just as the song peaks. I'm a fan of both songs but I think 'When I'm Gone' is stronger.

The video is such a serve! I love each of Katy's looks, love the choreography and agree it's great to see the black hair return; feels like with both that and the lyrics suggest they're aiming for a big pop Katy comeback. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen but I'd love for this to be a hit.

I'm actually reminded of 'Work Bitch' by Britney, particularly the blue scenes with the water on the floor.

Holler actually reached #12 on Bubbling Under, but as further explained by Kath and Liam, that doesn’t mean it was #112. It’ll only ever mean that it was #12 on Bubbling Under!

So the same applies to When I’m Gone, #3 on Bubbling Under is all that can be said for it, so far.
