To be performed alongside "Houdini" at the GRAMMYs on 4/2.
I'm curious to hear Training Season since originally that was suppose to be the lead single before last minute switch!!!
FYI, "Training Season" is one of eight songs of the album, including "Houdini", that was co-written by Dua Lipa, Caroline Ailin, Danny L Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr. and Kevin Parker.
Ooooh, so it does exist. Intrigued!
Ooh is this all confirmed? So guessing we'll get it this Friday or next then.
Next month.
From https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/25481476/dua-lipa-argylle-training-season/:
Didn't The Sun report last month that the music video was pulled because it was insensitive to the Gaza conflict?
omg she just send us via text a 10 second clip...I feel like Physical 2.0 is upon us
Out next Thursday.
Nice but we need the album date and title too. Why the release date is 3 weeks away?
Looking forward to this of course!
loved 'Houdini' and am very much ready for more.
It's (finally) post-Christmas payday tomorrow so treated myself to the £6.97 vinyl, CD and cassette bundle - a bargain compared to the prices I paid for the Ariana physicals recently
Is there a snippet of this out yet?
Curious to hear what it sounds like.
Ooh, exciting! Loving the prospect of Kevin Parker potentially co-writing eight songs on the album (even if it does mean Tame Impala's next album won't come very soon)
The snippet sounds amazing
Hold on, does that mean it won't be performed at the Grammys if that's on the 4th and this is out on the 15th?
I’m sure she’s giving Houdini that extra push in US by performing on Grammy’s, while this will be performed at the Brits!!!
There is 30 second clip on YT and after the chorus there is a synth piece which sounds heaven
She will probably perform DTN and Houdini at the Grammys considering the former is nominated.
I'm so freakin excited
It sounds amazing and LOVE the single cover
“‘Training Season’ is about my training season being over and me growing with every experience. I have never felt more confident, clear or empowered. And while it may be that training season is never over for any of us, you start to see the beauty in finding that person to experience it with. You stop looking for the trainees and become more interested in having someone where you are and someone to grow with.” — @DUALIPA on #TrainingSeason
Confident queen making us wait till the 15th 😭😭 Great that the physicals are on pre-order already. That should help it with a nice chart debut
Confidence? More like not confident to go up against the numbers Noah, Sophie and others are pulling in currently.
That isn't how it reads but fair enough if that is actually what you meant.
It would be wise for any artist right now to hold off a few weeks, if Ariana cant get to number 1 throwing the iamspamspamamisink at it then no other artist will. Even getting top 3 at the moment is a big ask.
Dua Lipa is so bland. She lacks star quality. Her voice/songs all sound the same.
Her performance style is very samey too. She is a product of Payola.
I am a Dua fan but this sounds underwhelming again. It really is too copy and paste at this point.
I need her to have her 'Slow' or 'Ray of Light' moment now.
Did I hit a nerve. She is so boring. No charisma. Faceless songs. Just like Katy Perry.
This new song sounds just like the others. I watched her tour on Youtube and she just does not have any originality.
She seems like a nice person though.
This album will struggle and early reviews of her performance the new film are not favourable either.
maybe wait until you hear the full song, can't say much from the snippet
Poor Dua, flopping from the moment she announced song title only!!!
Whoa at sudden flood of negative posts... but I kinda agree that serving bop after bop without taking risks only takes an artist to certain point, both commercially and artistically.
Where are these random claims that she's unoriginal and faceless coming from? Future Nostalgia, Don't Start Now (hello did anyone forget that era!?) was a game changer and brought back disco into the mainstream. Then everyone else and their mother was found jumping onto the disco trend. Even now, there's nothing else on the radio at the moment that sounds like Houdini. She has carved out her own clearly recognizable sound that people love.
If Dua was boring and a product of Payola, she wouldn't be touring arenas all over the world and have the 2 most streamed albums by a female artist of all time. Fair enough if you don't like her but don't talk SHITE.
She has no originality as a performer. She is just very average. The average person won’t/can’t remember any of her videos, looks or performances. Yes her last album was successful but again mainly due to Spotify playlisting. Yes some of the songs were great too.
What I mean is she is a bit like Katy Perry - big hits but a limited fanbase.
As for the arena tour it was not very big in the UK or as extensive given the album/singles being big hits.
Official snippet:
Training Season merch
CD single £0.99
Cassette £0.99
7-inch vinyl £4.99
Single bundle £6.97
http://musicstore.dualipa.com/eu/
No issue with Dua she will struggle unless she can create her own identity. Without Spotify and radio support she has a small fanbase. She is no Britney, Madonna, Kylie, Beyonce, Rihanna or Gaga. She has not immersed herself with the general public due to there being nothing really special about her.

I am eager to hear the track in full as it might explain why they switched it from been the lead single to second single.
It's her sporty era I guess
She performed part of this at the Grammys (with Houdini and DTN).
I can't stop crying. She devoured that performance
HD:
Training Season sounds great I agree, it's an interesting decision to preview it in an extremely high profile performance but not have it available for almost 2 more weeks.
Even though her bundle is very reasonably priced (£6.97 for a cd, vinyl and cassette) I'm a little put off pre-ordering it because of the shipping charge. I mean normally I wouldn't think twice about that, but after Dance the Night and Houdini postage charges being free... I kind of expect to be burned by a "shipping now free!" announcement in a couple of weeks if I ordered it now.
The song is ludicrously catchy, I'll say that much!
So proud of Dua! She was totally outstanding. My excitement for this is now through the roof
Training Season sounds pretty decent to me. I do think the material is a slight step down but then Future Nostalgia was pretty much a PERFECT pop album that anyone would struggle to replicate so we're still talking really solid singles here. Houdini in particular has grown on me no end
It sounds incredible *.* That relentless chorus, the falsetto post-chorus INJECT ITT
Music video better not disappoint!
I can't stop singing "got me feeling vertigoooo"
It really is a massive earworm.
This wait is giving iTunes pre-order / On air on sale era. Just release it already!
The loud guitar @ the outro of Houdini is everything
The snippet isn't giving me massive hope for the song but I'll wait until I've heard it in full. 'Houdini' was a total banger but I can't see 'Training Session' living up to that. And I don't like it as a song title either lol
Well I mean 121 after a few weeks is pretty bad let’s be real https://kworb.net/charts/apple_s/us.html but predicting the scale of a former powerhouses decline isn’t a fine science. I remember Katy Perry’s decline and seems similar here to me. Dua Lipiarna can still be successful with theatre or selling perfume but her music career is pretty much done in my opinion but some people will be slow to let go so I guess we’ll just it play out
She's over!!!
I don't know why she's trying at this point
Dua is on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow and The Graham Norton Show on 23 Feb
I can't get enough of performance...I've watched it probably 20 times by now on Reels and it's giving main pop girl attitude!!!
I love it <3
The vinyls come with 2 (!) stamps
The music video was shot by Vincent Haycock.
wait is this getting released tonight after midnight?
If so, does it mean all the streaming for the first day will be lost?!!
Who approved this?
Adverts are appearing in newspapers and Dua is reacting to people's texts on TikTok
oh ok then, the same as when Houdini got released!!!
what are your thoughts on streaming numbers on first day?
I'm going for 320k.
I should be more optimistic because it sounds like such an earworm, but somewhere around 250-300k!
Excited for the new song and video soon! I can't wait to have a new song to listen to this weekend.
This wait!
Obsessed on first listen, wow! Really impressed!
This song is absolutely huge!
Love this! Sounds really different, I love the way she sings the pre/post chorus. The extended version is gorgeous!
Anyone else hearing massive ABBA vibes from this?
Way way way stronger than ‘Houdini’ and feels finally like she’s not giving us a Future Nostalgia reject. This manages to keep her signature sound, but also take it to new places too? This feels much fresher. I’m on board.
This is very Tame Impala does ABBA, absolutely love it! As I expected, Kevin Parker production is really taking her to the next level for me. It feels like she’s doing something so fresh that only she could do rather than jumping on any trend or rehashing what she’s done before.
First listen, I wasn't sold.
Second listen, I see what she's going for. It has good pop instincts. I wonder if the chorus is a bit wordy though...
It’s cute! I’m gonna need to sit on it a bit longer. Wasn’t as instant to me as Houdini.
I can’t believe an artist actually released two singles from an album before its release! (Ps: where’s the album)
Love it, absolute bop. But the music video was very underwhelming.
The song is a 10 but music video is such a letdown…I was waiting for something to happen and then nothing happened…that cup of tea was happening I guess!!!
It's a great song! I also got ABBA from the melody/piano. I think it could very well grow on me more and more with each listen too.
Music video... I didn't hate it but it kind of just happens, I don't think there's replay value with that one.
I guess this teaches me not to form an opinion based off a snippet! Didn't like the snippet but the full song is f'n brilliant.
Video is a bit shite though
Finally bought the physical bundle, I couldn't resist it any longer (so watch free shipping be announced next week )
As well as the aforementioned Extended version, there's also the Instrumental and Acapella
E A R W O R M
There's a couple of nice fresh elements in this one and Dua's vocals ate especially the falsetto bits. Totally lived up to my expectations.
She OUTSAT Adele with that music video
extended mix is so good omg
LOVE the video, the tension!!!
Spotify: #1 on NMF and HHUK, #2 on TTH
Adored both this and 'Houdini' from the get go, and been hooked on both. The chorus on this is so addictive.
The video is really shite though, but I suppose understandable if they were forced to film another one at short notice.
I sleepily listened to this last night and wasn’t totally sure but am hooked this morning, can’t take it off repeat *.*
This is so good! Listening to it along side Houdini makes them both sound even better. Bring on the album!
This is quite impressive. I wasn’t huge in Houdini but this is an improvement for me. Added it to my 2024 playlist.
This is such a slam-dunk — that chorus. The genius of blending essentially an ABBA melody with Tame Impala production. The album is going to be it.
I’m liking this more than I did Houdini on initial listens, although that did grow on me a lot. I think I need to stop myself comparing this era to Future Nostalgia - these are good, solid pop songs, it’s just that Future Nostalgia was such a 10/10 era.
Not really getting the ABBA vibes others are getting.
What an event of a song! I think it’s even more instant than Houdini and DTN. Surely this screams massive global hit??! Really hoping it’s another UK #1 and US top 10 for Dua at the very least!
Don't like this at all, but then didn't like Houdini at start and it's become one of my favourites in ages
I like it. Not loving it though. It's hard to describe exactly, but it kinda feels like to me, that it's one stage too early from being finished.
The hook/chorus is an earworm and catchy though and like I said I don't dislike it at all. Would welcome it being a hit, but I'm probably not in this one for the long haul and will probably be bored of it by about week 5 or something. We'll see though. I have it in my rotation so hopefully it'll grow on me to the point it's at for you guys.
She’s so consistent tbh like even if a song is not fully my taste I don’t think I’ve heard bad song from her !
Agree. But I need a ballad from her, she has proven herself so many times with bops.
I like this too but not loving it. I wasn’t impressed with the single version at all but the extended version allowed me to get into it and created a more pleasant listening experience for me.
Houdini clicked for me right away in comparison.
I still don’t think the sound difference is that drastic from Future Nostalgia era. She’s found her stride now with the sort of artist she is and that’s fine but it’s not like she’s went from a Like a Prayer to Erotica or American Life to Confessions on a Dancefloor style sound overhaul.
I think on first listen Houdini was more for me but I will give this another chance. Should easily be another hit for her we’ve seen since her debut now that her singles always end up having huge staying power but I’m still waiting for the huge wow moment from DL3 that both her debut and Future Nostalgia had plenty of.
This has been played 3 times at pre drinks tonight and I am fully obsessed now. This is meant to be loud x
OMG I love this so much more than I was expecting to - it's brilliant! *.*
This hasn't outsold Yes And? remix and Lose Control on iTunes yet, it's a bit worrying regarding the chart debut.
This is awful. Didn't she promise progression?? Well, where is it? This is just a stalw rehash of better songs she's done better. It's just not good. It's just a toral non-event. She needs to move on from this era, fast, or wnd up like Jess Glynne
If only Jess Glyne had a Future Nostalgia era lol.
How am I expected to think about anything other than this chorus?
Another great single from Dua. Not sure I prefer it to 'Houdini' atm but definitely found the video a bit lacklustre!
The song is amazing but the video is terrible
Great debut WW, I still think that she should've released this two weeks ago ahead of the Grammy performance..
Every listen is getting better for me. And it's making me love Houdini more...
Genuinely listening to the extended mix more because I don't want it to end. On repeat like nothing I've listened to in years. 11/10. Dua, I am SOLD. 😍😍
Debuts at #35 in Australia on Spotify. Better than it looks considering there are 13 Taylor Swift songs ahead of it.
Extended Mix did 850K on Spotify yesterday
It's safe to say around 70k came from UK with just the main version and extended. So it all looks good for a Top 5 debut in UK!!!
Not as good as Houdini imo but still a mega bop! Hopefully a top 3 debut with physicals, but I’ll be happy with top 5! Can’t wait for the album
Down to #14 in the UK and #16 globally on Spotify.
Not bad for the usual day 2 drop, 220k in the UK and 3.2m globally! And up to #10 on Apple Music!
Streaming party tomorrow
Still not quite there with this personally, but does anyone else get ‘Break Your Heart’ mixed with ‘Houdini’ from this? The melody of the chorus sounds pretty similar to me.
It really is catchy though.
Heading for #1 in the UK
https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/first-look-dua-lipa-training-season-beyonce-texas-hold-em-chart-battle/
Will order the vinyl to help x
patiently waiting for my bundle to ship - not sure when it does in the U.K.
Does bundle count as one sale or three sales?
Perfect
Thank you.
Would be great if Dua could hold top 3 as least for Friday.
Starting off at Number 1 was a welcome surprise so top 3 looks very manageable.
Houdini is still the one! 10/10 moment. Her best!"
Can she release more of the vinyls/bundles please x
The chorus from 1:13 minutes I can hear the sampling.
Still #2 in the midweeks

Great to see how it's been increasing in streams the past couple of days
I was totally thinking a #4/#5 debut with how it started, so if it can actually hold #2 that's fantastic!
Training Session looks most likely to hold a Top 2 placement
It's annoying to read comments saying it is flopping in other threads.
Training Season did 4.061 Million streams across all versions on Spotify during its fifth day
Original: 3,478,483
Extended: 350,124
Instrumental: 132,009
Acapella: 101,145
Up to #2 on Amazon
Seems like Justin Timberlake is performing on Graham Norton tomorrow and Dua is just doing an interview again
A performance on Graham Norton Show would have been much more impactful.
Day 1: 4,669,182
Day 2: 3,427,976
Day 3: 2,969,992
Day 4: 3,348,818 (+12.76%)
Day 5: 3,478,583 (+3.87%)
Day 6: 3,508,011 (+0.85%)
It received 4.074M streams across all versions yesterday.
The growth *.*
That post appears to have been deleted, what did Mel say about it?

I don't know why it's not being posted but here's the link.
Shut up lol
#4 is far from flopping!!!
From Music Week:
01 59,272 Beyoncé - TEXAS HOLD 'EM [6,072 downloads, 53,200 streaming]
02 44,617 Benson Boone - Beautiful Things
03 43,115 Teddy Swims - Lose Control
04 40,497 Dua Lipa - Training Season [3,045 CDs, 3,937 vinyl, 2,598 cassettes]
05 34,406 Noah Kahan - Stick Season [SCR: 67,171]
Wow 9.5k physical sales! And they didn't make shipping free this time. So impressed. She has a fan base people!
Congratulations Dua Lipa on a 15th Top 10 hit excluding charity singles.
I so far am preferring Training Season to Houdini but both leave me feeling confident her third album will be a complete bop.
These sped up and slowed down versions came up on my release radar:
I'm guessing they're not official and probably will be taken down?
Talk of the Charts are predicting this to debut at #26 on the US Hot 100. Really weird that it hasn't officially impacted radio there yet
Houdini is gaining in top ten in airplay there (#8) and DTN is still #31. They don't want to risk that Houdini's rise will stop because of Training Season. It will be serviced to radio when Houdini starts its decline I would assume.
It could end up being similar situation to Don't Start Now / Physical prior to Future Nostalgia. Physical was never sent to radio there and then the third single Break My Heart was a big airplay hit.
I'll never forgive them for doing 'Physical' dirty like that
To be honest with you I could totally see Training Season to end up just the same as Physical in US unfortunately…Houdini is about to rise another spot on radio charts at a new peak of #7!!!
And I think it's totally fine, because she is a radio darling in the US and will keep getting hits - it's just the timing and scheduling that works against this particular single I think.
Radio ≠ streaming
Top 10 in today's midweek information
Debuts at #27 in the US (Hot 100).
Great debut.
Also they're not going to do dirty like they did with Physical in US because officially they're sending it to radios on March 5th
A Brit performance tonight if Dua Lipa performs it would be a good choice.
Dua Lipa delivering a real on point performance.
Brits 2024 Performance of Training Season!!!
Good performance!
There’s now a new bundle with free shipping on her store for UK fans.
The camerawork during Dua's BRITS performance was totally shocking
Just curious did you guys prefer the Brits or the Grammys performance?
Both great but the Grammys cage was all kinds of amazing
Grammys was better overall, actual professional cameramen were filming it, the cage, the Houdini dance breakdown.
Dua's vocals were better at the BRITs though but it sounded pre-recorded to me in parts
BRITs live performance is now available on streaming
It was a solid performance but for me I think by performing only a brand new song it didn’t help set the mood opening the show. Great performance but I wish she did Houdini & dance the night as well as they’re established hits
Drops 27->61 in the US
my city Copenhagen is filled with posters of Training Season, some huge ones!

I hope she doesn't fall from that height!
Our fearless queen isn't afraid of heights
these posters were smaller and lower

Training Season has sold more than Houdini did in its first 3 weeks
Training Season:
#4 - 40,497
#8 - 26,098
#8 - 27,158
= 93,753
Houdini:
#2 - 40,933
#7 - 23,583
#10 - 20,160
= 84,676
Only a 1000 sales increase this week after a huge Brit performance opener is disappointing.
Brits impact were inexistent unless your name was Raye that night!!!
Raye stole the show and as a result all the other performers appear to have been overlooked.
Dua's BRITS performance showcased a cinematographic approach that was utterly riveting, leaving viewers in an state of awe-struck astonishment.
Has this impacted US radio yet? It's up to #24 on Pop, but still only #153 overall
London Sessions out now
Rock chick Dua slays us again *.*
That was stellar *.* Dua channelling her inner rock chick totally.
London Session >>> original in all honesty!!!
Give us the London Sessions album already
Acoustic version was released on Friday:
Chloé Caillet Mix out now
US pop radio are eating this up at the moment
Training Season on DCL-2 this week
It’s fine…make room for Illushion
It will crash straight out the top 40 if it goes ACR I was hoping it could avoid until the album release for a more lengthy top 40 run
It's quite high in the album track list so potentially could get reset anyway
Radio in the US appear to be dropping this in favor of Illusion. A shame as it's climbing back up the Hot 100 again
Training Season doing well in Europe, top 5 in Belgium, top 10 in Netherlands and top 20 in France this week!
Looks like this is definitely not swerving ACR Spotify streams have decreased week on week
EDIT: It's on ACR, here comes the big drop
The cultural impact of the music video
