Thanks to dr.alban & queen of flop Jessica Folcker for that outstanding live performance of Worldvision's official anthem. But now it's time to assign countries! Here's how this part is going to work:

1. Post in this thread with your intent to take part, along with a number from 1 - 56. I will then tell you which country you have been assigned from the list. To make things a little more interesting and a little less predictable, myself and the mods have agreed to omit certain countries from the list, these are: UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

2. Once you have received your country, you can start searching for a song from that country! There isn’t any strict rules regarding this, just of course that the artist of your song is from your assigned country. However, myself and the mods will throw out anything that goes against the spirit and point of the spin-off, for example entering PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ if you got South Korea. Or trying to find a loophole for using an artist, for example entering Bebe Rexha if you got Albania. The whole point of this spin-off is to try and get a great deal of diversity so please make sure your artist is from your assigned country and is still based there now. I hope for it to be completely different to a standard BJSC.

3. Of course, past Eurovision and BJSC entries are not allowed.

I will open a Confirmations thread on Monday evening, which will be open until Saturday evening, with the voting thread going up next Sunday. As everyone will have a different country and therefore won’t be competing for artists/songs, you are free to discuss your potential entries in the thread, but of course keeping your final selection confidential by being confirmed to myself via PM once confirmations open! If you’re having trouble researching an entry, we’re all here to help each other!

So if you want to take part, just pick a number! And if you have any questions just fire away!

Oh yes not a pesky European country Not an Asian one (I may have to advise you Bra) but we can definitely work with that.

Can I just give two little tips if anyone really does have a struggle. A) the first thing to do is search 'music in X', you'll probably get a Wiki page that may list popular singers, and you can go from there with things like last.fm or testing the waters. B) Some countries are kind enough to have dedicated Youtube channels and that may give you access to some of the latest releases. And of course you can always search for charts.

Just to help focus the search if anyone needs it.

Aww it is a difficult country but there's definitely some stuff out there, it may be ethnic folk stuff but don't let that put you off (there weren't many African countries in the draw, Algeria was one of the few best ones). Jake played an Algerian song on plug last month or so that I've been loving for weeks.

I think it'd have to be Jonjo as just about everyone will have already heard that!

For the majority of European countries, you'll more than likely find that their biggest popstars are artists that have represented them in Eurovision so that may be a good place to start. And then you'll probably come across more artists via collaborations in their back catalogues. And while we ideally don't want a contest full of Eurovision national final rejects, if people get completely stuck then there are some good songs to be found that lost national selections in many European countries or at the very least some more artists in them that you can then explore the back catalogues of!

For some of the bigger European countries, Shazam top 100s could provide a few ideas too where available.

It'll probably depend on the make-up of the song. For example, thinking back to that TWiiNS 'One Night Stand' song that was entered into the main contest that featured Flo Rida - I'd personally say that'd be ok if that song was sent to represent Slovakia in this (although of course it won't be as it's already been entered) because Flo is just a 20 second feature that doesn't really add anything to the song. Of course I'm guessing your song is probably a dance song so that may not apply here. If you confirm the song to Adam when confirmation opens tonight, he'll be able to determine whether it's Indonesian enough.

Vülker had a similar query regarding a Greek song and I think as long as the main artist is from your assigned country then they're shouldn't be too much problem, but I'll judge them on a case by case basis.

Ooh, this shall be challenging In both a good and slightly bad way. I know next to nothing of Maltese music except some Eurovision songs plus the population is of course so small so the variety may be slightly limited. I DID find a track that I'm really enjoying right now, but

a) It's over eight minutes long
b) It's an instrumental
c) It's got a lot of that weird electronic shit going on that I so love but a lot of people don't exactly get

I'll keep looking.
