BuzzJack Music Forum _ Little Mix _ Perrie - TBA • 1st Album

Posted by: Slayer 19th July 2022, 03:24 PM

Perrie was in the studio with Kamille and Steve Mac today.

Posted by: pippa 19th July 2022, 09:39 PM

The work has started so it should see an early to mid 2023 release.

Posted by: jsweetxe 20th July 2022, 12:12 AM

Yeah I agree, Perrie will probably be the last to release so I’m expecting early 2023 with them all dropping bigger projects in late 2023/2024 with a 2025 reunion

Posted by: pippa 20th July 2022, 12:16 AM

They can release in each quarter so the releases are spread out.

WWith Little Mix currently on hiatus (we're fast-approaching the 100-day mark, not that we're counting), our attention's turned to Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards' solo endeavours.

And while we know Jade's been hitting the studio with Jodie Harsh and Leigh-Anne's launched her own Twitter account, Perrie's been keeping her solo shenanigans a little more low key.

Until now.

Yep - long-time Little Mix collaborator and all-round queen Kamille has revealed she's been hard at work with our Pez on music that will 'blow everyone's minds,' alongside producer fella Fred again.. and song writing legend Steve Mac.

After teasing studio sessions with Perrie on TikTok, we asked Kamille what sound we can expect from the Little Mix star's solo output. Will it be along the lines of Olivia Rodrigo's pop-punk; a genre Perrie recently claimed was 'right up her street?'

"I don’t even know. They’re just so early in their discovery of what they want to do," Kamille told OfficialCharts.com.

"There’s so many things that they’re interested in, I couldn’t pinpoint it to one thing. The best thing right now is that we’re having fun discovering. Hearing their voices on stuff you wouldn’t typically hear it on is just sending me. It’s so, so exciting for me. Can you imagine, as someone who’s used to just one thing with them? I couldn’t even pinpoint it, but just know it’s going to blow everyone’s minds."

We don't doubt that for a second, Kamille.

As we fangirled and branded Perrie one of the world's best vocalists, Kamille agreed: "100 per cent. I tell her this every day.

"Perrie will get in the booth and she’ll be so worried and insecure. Even when I was with her the other week with Steve Mac, she got into the booth and was like ‘I don’t know if I can do it.’

"I looked at her and I was like ‘are you actually serious? Your voice is one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, hands down.’ She’s incredible. She doesn’t even know how good she is, and that’s one of the most beautiful things about Perrie; she’s so humble. It’s been so exciting to be making music with her. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it all done.

"As you know, there’s so much more to come from her."

Ah, Perrie. Our humble queen.

Also, can we take a moment for the fact that Perrie's been working alongside legendary producer and song writer Steve Mac? With Steve boasting a CV full of hits for the likes of Little Mix, Ed Sheeran, Kelly Clarkson, One Direction and Selena Gomez, Perrie's in very capable hands.

Posted by: Yousee 9th August 2022, 05:25 PM

Yep, not because I'm a fan, but Perrie's voice is among the best out there in the pop world.

Posted by: shadow2009 9th August 2022, 05:32 PM

Perrie will never get the recognition she deserves because she's a pure pop artist and part of a girl group. It's the same with Kelly Clarkson - one of the best voices in the entire industry but it's always the Mariah/Whitney/Celine's that everyone refers to when talking about vocal talent.

Maybe because Whitney is the best singer of all time! wub.gif

I mean that's very debatable when in comparison to Mariah, but there's no doubt Whitney was like top 3 (Top 2?) in contemporary music when it came to vocalists.

However their point was that some singers aren't given their flowers for their immense technical prowess due to their musical backgrounds - for instance Kelly is a pop/rock singer who.. doesn't create the best music in the world, so that overshadows her absolutely insane voice.

Perrie was part of a girl group, therefore she'll more than likely never get credit for having one of the best developed voices in the pop music industry due to that, she'll always be known as the girl from Little Mix (which isn't bad at all!) but her fans would like to see acknowledgment of her technical voice too, which is insane.

Posted by: Yousee 11th August 2022, 06:16 AM

Perrie's vocals are insane! Kamille should give her a big ballad where she can showcase her impressive vocal range and her goosebumps-inducing belts! Adele will come for vocal lessons thereafter. Yes I said it!

Lol what?

She's extremely underrated as a vocalist. She has a far bigger range than Adele, a belt that's just as powerful as Whitney's and a technique that's just as strong as Celine's. Her being compared to Kelly for the reasons stated earlier in the thread is the perfect comparison.

She's a powerhouse.

Perrie is probably the best vocalist in the British music scene. No hyperbole.

No, you're right. But for very similar reasons to Perrie, it's hard for her to get the recognition for it. It's a shame.

I always thought Faye was the underrated one Claire has always been known as the “singer” because she can belt but I think Faye’s voice is stronger and sweeter.

This is funny the only thing they have in common is both are Perry / Perrie… Perrie’s voice is far and away miles superior.

this is funny bc they both (Katy and Adele) have very bad vocal technique, but Adele is deemed better because she can "belt" and has a more pleasing tone, when really - they're probably the same on a technique level. Adele probably has the edge, as lately she seems to be using her voice better, but well, vocal surgery isn't needed for good singers lol

Apparently she’s going to do a red carpet this week, so nothing music related.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 11th October 2022, 04:33 PM

Has 'Halloween Ends' had it's UK premiere yet? I wonder if that's why they mentioned "clowns coz it's Halloween" or whatever?

Posted by: Slayer 11th October 2022, 07:35 PM

She's attending a red carpet tomorrow and this person from MTV UK is interviewing her.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 11th October 2022, 07:53 PM

Idk how reliable https://www.cornucopia-events.co.uk/red-carpet-film-premieres-uk/ is but here are the UK premieres tomorrow:

12th October – B**ch Ass
12th October – The Curse of Bridge Hollow
12th October – Empire of Light – Confirmed Premiere

'Empire of Light' could be HUGE for exposure as it's a big Awards Season one and it stars Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward & Colin Firth.

EDIT: I have no idea what the former two are though tearsmile.gif

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 11th October 2022, 08:00 PM

I really hope it's 'Empire of Light' coz I really want to see a pic of her with Olivia Colman!

Perrie started following the head of Modest Management on instagram, as we all know Sam remains her manager for her solo career.

Hoping for some little nuggets about solo music!

Simon Jones is with her, he was Little Mix's PR manager, so looks like he'll continue working with her. Always liked him.

I hope someone asks her if new music is coming before the end of the year!

Also she looks STUNNING!

Posted by: Slayer 12th October 2022, 08:33 PM

When we told Perrie we are, indeed, 151 days strong into the girls' hiatus, she told OfficialCharts.com: "Are you counting? So am I. It's sad, it's real sad."

As we said we've been promised her music will 'blow everyone's minds' by songwriter pal Kamille, Perrie added: "I saw that! That's Kam, she's always got my back. She's like my sister, of course she's going to say that.

"It's all going really well, I'm just having so much fun experimenting with different sounds. It's just really good."

On working with the likes of Kamille, the legendary Steve Mac and producer of the moment Fred again.., Perrie told OfficialCharts.com: "I'm so lucky, I'm working with such amazing people. I'm really grateful."

Now, eagle-eyed Perrie fans will have noticed she teased a pop-punk sound from recent studio sessions on her socials. Can we expect an Olivia Rodrigo vibe from her solo music?

"Well she's incredible, so great reference," she said. "But yeah, it's just music that I love to make. I just want to make music that I love."

With our time up, we couldn't help but asked if she's had a sneaky listen to any of Jade or Leigh-Anne's solo music so far.

"Maybe I have..." she teased.

We'll take that as a big fat yes, Pez.

Felt weird seeing her on her own on the red carpet. I suppose it'll take some getting used to. For some reason, it wouldn't have felt particularly unusual if it was Jade or Leigh-Anne.

Perrie appears to be in LA recording music!

All three of them are taking an incredibly long time to officially announce anything - it's a little odd. We know they're all signed and have management teams now, but it does seem to odd to sit with complete radio silence from all of them regarding their projects except for the odd insta video of them in the studio.

Posted by: Yousee 21st February 2023, 07:51 PM

Confetti tour ended less than a year ago. I feel like they're getting the rest they never got for 10-11 years. It's been go-go-go-go since x-factor. Maybe just going at their respective pace and taking things easy; or making sure they put out the right material. Even Leigh-Anne was not definite in her answer when she was quizzed at the Brits.

Perrie has started following one of Jesy's close friends, Feli - she is a songwriter!

The industry really is small.

Feli has been working with Jesy and has previously worked with Chloe Bailey, Normani, Jojo, BTS and more.

Quite interesting to see she has a home studio. Means she won’t have to shell out for studio fees (or the label). I feel like perries output will be quite consistent when she gets going. She seems like she really enjoys the authenticity of it all. Wouldn’t be surprised if her output is a bit Red-era Taylor/Janis Joplin/Carole King but with more vocal focus.

If she can manage a second top 20 I'd say it may be vaguely possible.

Posted by: shadow2009 30th April 2024, 08:26 PM

I don't understand why the other two couldn't just get an album out if they wanted to. They came from the biggest girl group since the Spice Girls and have been in the industry for over a decade....couldn't they just ensure their contract stipulates they release an album? Or release it independently? How can two members of Little Mix essentially have as little power and struggles to get an album out?

The fact we're even wondering if Perrie, a 3rd member of the group, could even get an album out after a top ten single debut is crazy.

I've read about this before and wondered if it might be Jesy. It might or might not be. Who knows? Although clues such as "hoping they'll grow" make it more intriguing.

Also I wish she could tone down on the album talks, cos it would be awkward if the album doesn't eventually materialise. But again, I'm dying to hear the ballad she recorded first, written by M-NEK and titled Miss You!

Absolutely love the vocals but not sure about the sound itself of the song if that is the main chorus.

Can we confirm that Perrie has released the worst solo material ever by a ex girlband member? I’m still shock about how bad is and the level of people that works on record companies. I mean, I wouldn’t spend a penny in her career after listen the first two singles.

Girl, you’ve been in one of the biggest girl bands ever, plenty of hits and you release these two songs? Oh WOW.

Nicole 'Boomerang' Scherzinger says hi. Also 95% of Geri Halliwell's output.

Well, I’ve never been into Geri Halliwell but I think that start your solo career with a #2 and 3 numbers #1 in a row is far away a signal that your solo material is bad.

Posted by: Yousee 27th June 2024, 10:38 AM

Geri did very well as a solo artist (particularly in the first few years). Now whether it was the quality of her output, or the epic one-of-a-kind popularity of the Spice Girls (plus she being one of the most iconic members / being the first to go solo / the manner in which she left), or a mixture of all these factors, is the real debate.

Poor 'Boomerang' sad.gif

Also a large chunk of Cheryl's solo output was absolute rot.

I’ll always have a fondness for Geri but her music was generally a bit crap imo. Granted she had a lot of success though.

Cheryl’s too - besides Call My Name.

Well at the end of the day everyone has different tastes and that’s completely fine. The thing with Perrie for me is that I’m not sure if she went solo like “yeah, let’s release an album , cool” or really wanted to have a solo career because in that case I don’t understand the 2 first singles after a decade of success. It’s really shocking for me.

I have always thought that for any band member the first solo album must be really special because after many years working in the industry you can finally leave your creativity flies but, if you wanna have a stable solo career you have to ensure that the first release is a banger, or maybe the second, but if you don’t get the hits from the beginning is over.

Erm most of Geri's solo stuff is better than any of the solo stuff by Little Mix so far! pirate.gif

Geri's first two singles in particular are vastly superior than any of the first two singles by the LM girls, she truly kicked off with a bang. wub.gif

I was referring more to Geri's later solo output (from second album onwards laugh.gif kink.gif).

Just heard Tears and it’s awful. Why Perrie?

Posted by: Slayer 9th July 2024, 12:27 PM

Doesn’t seem she thinks the album is coming this year like she was saying. She also said it was finished?

Posted by: Scene 9th July 2024, 02:54 PM

She looks gorgeous in that outfit! She looks super bored though. tearsmile.gif Single 3 needs to be something special for this album to see the light of day.

Posted by: Jessie Where 9th July 2024, 04:17 PM

I'd be willing to bet even single 3 won't happen

Posted by: Slayer 9th July 2024, 05:38 PM

I'm pretty sure we will get another single.

Perrie on the 3rd single

She thinks it will be out September/October

She said the next song is very 'feel good' and she has seen the fans online and know what they want and she's going to add something somewhere in the song where they can hear her siiiiing.

She said there is nothing like this song on the album, it is 'energetic, fun and different'.

The next single is likely going to be make or break here in terms of how an album goes but I wonder if Tears might end up not making the album at all if the next single does something.

Part of me wonders if they might try and scramble a feature for single three to try and ensure it at least goes top 40. I do think she’d be wise going for a ballad personally but I’m a little nervous as to what kind of material she has based of what we’ve heard so far not really showcasing her voice or having much if any personality.

The album campaign is probably in a tricky situation at the minute as I don’t imagine they’d have predicted Tears doing as it did but then her team were pretty pants with it too and haven’t seemed to try to make it do anything. Im still rooting for her to provide us with something that has a vocal moment in it though.

I definitely think if we do get an album she could at least manage to get a top 10 if not top 5 peaking album (but of course if there’s not any hits on there the chart run would be pretty brief).

Perrie says 'never say never' to a reunion but if it happened it would have to be a 'good few years'.

The album is 'potentially' this year but she is still working on it. She says pre-order should definitely be this year.

Posted by: Jessie Where 10th July 2024, 09:10 PM

Can't help but feel they'll be a legacy/nostalgia act by the time they do reunite sad.gif

Posted by: Slayer 11th July 2024, 05:29 PM

Album is coming 'early next year'.

She is performing on The One Show tomorrow.

'I’ve promised myself that I'll stop making tweaks soon as I’m excited to get it out into the world. It's going to be released early next year.

Until then, I’m excited to release more songs and hopefully there will be lots more performances. I would love to do some live shows around the album release, too, so we are working on a plan to try and make that happen.

There’s so much to look forward to. I’m nervous, of course, but also super excited for what’s to come.'

Posted by: Cameron 12th July 2024, 10:43 AM

Wise choice. Think releasing in Q4 would burry her sales.

Posted by: Slayer 14th July 2024, 08:34 PM

Great performance.

Posted by: Sacred3 15th July 2024, 10:10 PM

Tears is slowly growing on me. It's not as bad as I thought, but should not have been a single. Things could still work out if her and the team plan the next few months well. It's not a car crash like Jesy's career.

Posted by: Joshnat192 17th July 2024, 08:53 PM

There is no way she can change the situation, I highly doubt she will release the album. I mean, if after two years working on your project these songs are the best to offer there isn’t so many more things to say. Sad cos she always has been my second favorite but for me, her material has been the worst with such a big difference.

Posted by: Scene 18th July 2024, 07:14 AM

I wonder if Jade smashes it out the park with AOMD Perrie will be inspired to change her ideas.

Posted by: Sacred3 28th July 2024, 10:47 PM

Tears has totally clicked now. I think I know where she was going with this, but sadly did not work out.

Posted by: Slayer 28th August 2024, 06:11 PM

Third single's music video is being filmed soon.
