I thought I'd open this now, as we'll probably start getting news and rumours over the next few months. I'll edit the thread title the more info we get.
I'm thinking a full Q4 release but an early Summer single beforehand?
This week is the first time in 2 years Capital has had no Little Mix song playlisted. The break is in full swing, and I think I'm starting to miss them already!
I want them to be rested, Perrie especially needs to rest her vocals!
I think they've been working with Raye in the studio and I want them to get another Tich written ballad pls
Things I want:
For them to retire the logo they've been using since the Salute era. Something a bit slicker and less overbearing would be nice.
For their album to keep the catchy hooks but start having a more adult sound. Think Touch, Move and the Ariana Grande type of sound.
For them to be able to swear on their albums. No more silly bleeps. Just stick an explicit sticker on the CD. Ariana's fanbase has a lot of young kids too and saying "dick" on her albums hasn't stopped that at all, plus I think it's time for Little Mix's fanbase to start growing up with them.
I like their logo
I agree about the whole more mature adult sound. Maybe not something quite as bold as 'Salute' was from 'DNA' but I reckon they could do what you suggested and get hits with a similar sound to Ariana's 'My Everything' album at least.
I'd like a bit more deviation from the sound they've had so far, push the boundaries a bit! Think they've cemented their place as the world's biggest girlband at the moment so why not take a risk! They've been very safe over the last two albums that I fear it's gonna sound a bit stale unless they make a change. I remember hearing 'Move' for the first time and being unsure what to make of it before growing to love it and I'd kinda like something that's gonna provoke that reaction again. As much as an Ariana Grande sound would work for them - I don't think copying what someone else is doing is really the best for them.
I absolutely agree that they need to shake things up a bit. Not just because they are big enough to be taking risks at this point, more so because they really just should. They are still eager and focused and I would love for them to be the girl group that completely outgrows guilty pleasure status to create something properly cool (on their fifth (!) album). Touch was a step in the right direction, but on Glory Days (even though I love it) there is still a lack of focus or direction.
https://twitter.com/ShadyMixerFacts/status/964484507066748928 I'm here for this!
Ohhh, I KNEW Ed Sheeran would get at least one song on LM5.
Hmm.. not sure how I feel about that. Although the clip Camila posted (that's on the twitter feed) does make it sound like it'd suit LM, but not much progression. We shall see though!
Ed Sheeran can f*** off
I wonder what the first single will be? They're no strangers to big lead singles.
I think this will be huge when/if its released. Ed wrote it for Camila when her album was going to be Crying In The Club-sounding so it's probably a cute little pop banger
The part she sings is so similar to the opening line to Wings. So I should imagine it will be like Wings Part II but with a more up to date production.
They keep liking and commeting on Tinashe's posts a lot.
Now THAT would be a collab I wanna see/hear 😭😭😭😭
Leigh-Anne just confirmed they are are putting out the album by the end of the year. The writing sessions start next month
https://twitter.com/oscahhhhh/status/965082756257648640
And she also said they have everything planned for the next two years, including a tour in 2019!
Now! 99 in March will be the first Now comp with no Little Mix songs since Now 90 in March 2015! I wonder if they’ll release the first single in time to make it onto ‘Now! 100’, which is out in July?
i don't think so, i think they will leave the single release until the x-factor finals so then they can hype it up as much as possible or they debut the single in early November and give it a discount on Black Friday so they can get higher sales for that day and then preform it on a TV show preferably a US one this time around because they are basically guaranteed a number with all the hype so i would like for them to perform on SNL, The Ellen Show and Jimmy Fallon aren't they the 3 biggest talk shows in America? or I would also like them to release it in August to coincide with the VMA's if they get a performance on there and SNL and Ellen and Fallon and then the video, radio deals and be put in the top 2 of spotify playlists (also could they do one of those visual songs on spotify? isn't that was Anne-Marie and Marshemello did and it got a high placing? idk ) all in the same week they could have a high debut.
I can see them performing a new song on the BGT finals to push for last minute ticket sales to their Summer Hits tour. It wouldn't surprise me if they did what they did with SOTME but this time premier it on BGT.
I would love for them to just do a repeat of Glory Days’ promo campaign but starting at BGT Finals instead of at XF Finals, then they will likely have the XF Finals to perform single #2/3 and hopefully grab a second #1 from the album.
A bit more emphasis on US promotion early on would be nice too, if they launched the new single at BGT and did promo in the UK to enaure #1 with longeviry they could then spend a month or so supporting in the US on talk shows etc. to get an actual hit single over there. By the time they’re done in the US, single 2 will be ready & XF debut + album release will guarantee a #1 (if it’s any good of course)
Little Mix Updates
@Mixers_Army
‘We’ll have a new single summer time. It will be a step up from Glory Days’ -Jade
Can't wait! When do you think it will be released I'm guessing before the summer hits tour to promote it
and when they release it, they will do promo in America i hope but probably not
I think they should make an album on the sound of Ariana's Dangerous Woman !! I know it would be a risk, especially for being very different from the sound of Glory Days, but as someone already said on this topic, they are big especially in the UK I think the time has come to take more risks!!
they have nothing to lose and honestly, with the public and the investment that Syco puts on them in the UK, anything they launch will be successful!!
https://twitter.com/BrasilLM/status/981878264854609920
sounds like a #1 hit
Oh. my. God. How does she make it sounds so good with humming? High expectations now.
Dont think I've ever been so obsessed over a humming clip!!!! Lmao. f*** sake.
The full interview! Only 1 song recorded so far apparently.
They seem so much more relaxed and happy now they've had a break!
Definitely. Especially Jade! I feel like doing these interviews for SLFN sets them up nicely/keeps them in the good books for when they're back and ready to promote.
Why are they being interviewed by a literal child tho?
That was a good interview.
They seem happy.
Perrie posted on her Instagram story that she was in the studio last night recording a bop while in her PJ’s ()
Steve Aoki collab possibly coming:
https://mobile.twitter.com/steveaoki/status/989627546927939584
Hopefully it's nothing like his collaboration with Louis Tomlinson.
I'm really interested to hear how they work with DJ's. However, I'm a bit :/ at this as I don't think I've liked anything by Steve Aoki lmao.
(His BTS collab was decent though tbh)
Leigh-Anne has posted
"#LM5 is loading... ⏳ L x"
On their social media.
THEY'RE COMING BITCHEEEESSSS!!!
Girls were in the studio with a few people last night apart from Jessy as she's currently on holiday in Dubai but on of the people was Jenna Andres and in the back ground of her insta story you can hear the song they're recording.
Only a tiny little snip, but the lyrics are from what I can guess 'I do what I like, I'm gonna love who I love'
Not aware of Jenna Andrews, or any songs she's wrote/produced but hopefully it's a bop.
Edit: Just checked she produced Noah Cyrus's Stay Together.
THEY'RE HITTING THE BIG LEAGUES!!!!
Jade has tagged Justin Tranter in a couple of insta posts!
Who? He often teams up with Julia Michaels and is responsible for songs such as:
- Julia Michaels - Issues
- Justin Bieber - Sorry/Friends
- Selena Gomez - Good For You/Hands To Myself/Bad Liar
- Britney Spears (more or less the entire 'Glory' album)
- Hailee Steinfeld - Love Myself/Rock Bottom
- DNCE - Cake By the Ocean
- Nick Jonas - Close
- Imagine Dragons - Believer
- Janelle Monàe - Make Me Feel
THEY'RE NOT PLAYING THIS TIME
can't wait for this to get scrapped in exchange for another beep beep or you gotta not 😍
They're in the studio with Tich again! Another Secret Love Song on the way!?
Let's see what's "big worldwide promotion".
https://twitter.com/brasillm/status/1017207226971443200?s=21
I was just listening to this song for the first time in a while, and I would KILL for LM to do a song like it!!!
Might be a bit divisive for a Western girl group but the drop is incred, something like this would be a great banger album track.
Um - this sounds epic!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BmgPb1GHdew/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Amazing! Full of sass, fierceness and just a MOMENT.
I AM READY
Omg. Can't wait for this already!
Giving me "Move" teas! Can't wait to hear the full thing 😍
Sounds extremely promising! *.*
another snippet, this one in the background of Jesy's Instagram story
https://twitter.com/UpdatingLM/status/1031256176783241216
So we have a bit of an Urban twist/Move esque song and a big emotional ballad ala Secret Love Song! I am excited.
I wonder if they’ll double release
Jade confirmed the album is out in November.
Perfect for those Christmas sales! Would be nice to get 2 singles before the release.
https://twitter.com/littlemix/status/1045355189937598467?s=21
New snippet of a song. Don’t know if this is the lead or just an album track but it sounds nice. Supposedly called “Woman Like Me” written by Ed Sheeran, Steve Mac and Jess Glynne but that could just be a different song registered under a name similar to what they’re singing
Well it sounds great, the most Destiny's Child they've ever sounded.
It sounds good
Can we update the Forum thumbnail please? "Power" is so LM4!
I'm predicting a 23rd November release for this as I'm pretty sure they're on episode 2 of the Michael McIntyre show as there were two episodes filmed on the day that I went to and there are still two dates of filming on 21st/28th October. The last two series premiered on the third weekend of November and assuming this one follows the same broadcast schedule, their episode will be shown on Saturday 24th November - perfect promo if the album is out the day before!
My friend who works there said it's the 3rd episode of filming but they can swap and change the performances for any date. I had a feeling they'd go up against Rita (not like she's competition but still). Do we know when the show starts?
I’ve seen some reports that the show was upgraded to 8 episodes this season which means they will likely start airing on November 3rd. If they they truly are the 3rd episode that would put the album out on the 16th with their performance airing on the 17th
Looks like Little Mix is out on the 16th of November.
https://twitter.com/seancxwman/status/1048597471386116096?s=21
They got Jess’ a bit wrong on the board but she’s had some weird release date mishaps so I think this is likely.
Competition for that week: Mumford and Sons, Michel Buble, Paul Heaton.
If 16th November is correct,
I think Mumford and Sons will be their biggest threat for #1 album.
Think it will be a close race between LM and them.
Yeah, they did 80k in Q2 last time.
I think the difference between the two is that Mumford & Sons have gotten less successful with each era. Their first album is 5x platinum, their second is 3x platinum and their most recent is only platinum. On the other hand Little Mix keep doing better with each era. Obviously anything could happen and I think they’ll both have strong openings but if they play their cards right pushing the lead and promoting the album, I think Little Mix could take it.
Michael Bublé could go really heavy handed with promotion and beat both of them though. I think we’ll have a better idea once all the albums are on preorder and we see who’s leading consistently
Remember when they went up against Bruno Mars and whoever else it was?
They obliterated them. They are huge in the UK.
RAYE has said that she's written a female empowerment anthem for the girls' album. Something like "Confidence" from her last EP would be great for them!
‘I have done a few [for their new album]. I’ve done one they really love that I think they’re going to use on the album so that’s good. One is slightly more vocal in terms of they get to show off their voices a bit more, it’s got a bit of an R&B edge to it. It’s really lovely and special, I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. It’s basically about being there for your girls which is about girl power.’
https://metro.co.uk/2018/10/09/raye-confirms-writing-huge-girl-power-anthem-for-new-little-mix-album-and-it-sounds-epic-8021115/
They've done an interview with Vice (which itself is well worth a read) which has confirmed two new song titles: "Strip" and "Woman's World":
"I'm lying on a sofa with my eyes closed. Some very loud music is playing through my headphones. It’s a bouncing, maximalist pop track with lyrics about loving your body and jiggling your tits."
"For one of their videos, for a new song “Strip”, they spoke to different women to gain a more intersectional perspective, so it wasn’t just their voices in the clip. “We spoke to someone who does the Daughters of Eve foundation, which helps those who have gone through female genital mutilation. We spoke to Christine, a woman who runs a charity for breast cancer, we spoke to a trans model."
"The others are nudging Jade now, whispering for her to tell me about something called “Woman’s World.” For a moment I think they’re referring to that Kate Bush song, but it turns out they’ve got a track on their new album which goes by a similar name. “So we wrote this song when the whole #MeToo movement was coming about,” Jade says, putting her tea down on the table. “You know… I was so angry about what was going on. It was important to write it with Jez, [a songwriter] who’s a man. It holds an important message. We haven’t written anything that’s too controversial before, and now we’re starting to write things that are slightly more honest. We want to be a bit more ballsy and say ‘yeah, it is hard to be a woman’.” What are the lyrics like? She reels some of them off: “If you’ve never had to struggle to be heard / you haven’t lived in a woman’s world.”"
"I think back to the songs I was listening to on the sofa, before our conversation. They were anthemic, full of hooks, but also very American-sounding in their flow and intonation. Some of them could have been Beyonce tracks from 2008. “I don’t know if I had any expectations. I don’t know how to answer that question,” I reply, unused to being put on the spot.
I tell them it wasn’t my favourite, I liked their track “Strip” more. The lyrics – about body positivity and embracing parts of yourself that you can’t change – felt positive. I like the idea of young teenagers hearing those words and absorbing them. The fact there’s a band like Little Mix – loud, funny women, with pop songs that make you want to stomp down the street and kick wheelie bins over, pop songs that give you a sugar rush – is a valuable thing.
“Yeah, OK,” Perrie says, mulling over my answer before Jesy jumps in: “But did you like ‘Strip’ more because you feel like it was interesting to write about, or did you like listening to it as music, because, like, it’s what you prefer listening to?” They snort, hearing themselves. “Now we’re interviewing you!” says Leigh-Anne."
I'm guessing "Strip" is the second single if they've already filmed a video for it!
https://noisey.vice.com/amp/en_uk/article/3km4ay/little-mix-interview-2018-woman-like-me
I'm liking the sound of that! I'm hoping now they've spent more time on this most of the songs won't sound like they were knocked up in 5 minutes like last time.
Not just a Nicki collab apparently! They have some more (not sure how many exactly) on the album and it's only women features.
Intrigued to see who else they have collabed with!
I'd say it's quite likely that they could lose out on #1 to Mumford & Sons.
An album tracklist is circulating, proably fake, but it has collabs with Ariana and Missy Elliott as well as Kamille (Camille Purcell)! Would love the Ariana collab to be true
Ariana rumoured to feature on Touch teas 😭😭😭😭
I highly doubt Ariana will feature. Kamille would be weird too.
Yeah, I can't see it being real. I'm sure 'Motivate' was registered years ago. Like, before 'Get Weird'.
I do love the idea of the album only featuring women though!
The girls have just announced that they’re calling the album LM5. Personally not a huge fan of the title, but as long as the songs on it are good I’m not too fussed
I have no words
Could they think of nothing better
I kinda love the title its a bit tongue and cheek to fanbases
Also I do like the cover BUT Perrie looks odd in it.
Looool. I... don't hate it?
(MILES ahead of 'Get Weird'. I still loathe that title).
Edit: the cover is gorgeous!
awful name but omg can’t believe joe go the name right all the way back in Feb wow omg
a mess
Awful name. Makes the whole thing feel even more cashed in.
There’s a standard, a deluxe and a super deluxe all being released. 18 new tracks!
Right Joe, you need to tell me what this week's Lottery numbers will be.
Not loving the title or the deluxe CD artwork - but the standard and super deluxe artworks are very nice! I'll definitely buy the super deluxe.
I think the title is kinda cute and looks really nice on the cover, saying it out loud is a bit awkward though. Much better than Glory Days and Get Weird for me anyway! And muuuuuch better than the rumoured ‘The Storm’. I hate the deluxe artwork too oops. But like the other two.
Omg is the super deluxe one gonna be available everywhere or just through their store? Imma need to get it and if its limited edition imma be pissed if they sell out before I manage to order it lmao
But yeah agreed that the standard and super deluxe covers are gorgeous. The deluxe is vile.
Also for my fellow WWE fans.. Perrie looks like Charlotte Flair, no?
I like the standard cover the best too, it’s strange when artists release two covers and the deluxe tends to be the less appealing photo.
Excited for the album though I’ve liked all their albums but for me they’ve all gotten better so it’ll be interesting to see if this streak continues.
Also and I did say this about Jess but I imagine this will be the biggest uk opening week of 2018 for a female act. Although Buble will be strong competition stronger than Mumford I’d have said but LM will definitely be the most streamed out of the three and promo will be big too you always know when they have an album out! If they do miss number one on debut week too they’ll likely take it for the first chart of 2019 after Christmas week with iTunes gift card effects. Glory Days returned to number one on this week if I remember rightly.
Woman Like You is the first lead single they've never performed on before its release, so considering that, it's doing okay.
Here's some confirmed promo for the album/single coming up:
Teen Awards BBC2 - Sunday 21st
Friday 26th - Stand up for Cancer - Channel 4
Michael Mcintyre - date TBC (probably album release week).
I assume we'll get an X Factor performance soon? It'd be nice to have one sooner rather than later, to help Woman Like Me really get going, but I can't see it being this Sunday as they have the Teen Awards until 6PM and X Factor starts at 8. Would they do a Saturday?
They could go on the Saturday and pre-record hopefully, even if it is shown on Sunday!
I think a Saturday performance could be likely
Edit: Oh
I think they could do X Factor the weekend of the album release and they’ll probably return for the final as well.
And there's not so many live shows this year are there?
Joe discovered that a track list has been posted here: https://www.merchbar.com/pop/little-mix/little-mix-lm5-lp-vinyl
1 The National Manthem
2 Woman Like Me Ft. Nicki Minaj [Explicit]
3 Think About Us
4 Strip Ft. Sharaya J
5 Monster In Me
6 Joan Of Arc
7 Love a Girl Right
8 American Boy
9 Told You So
10 Wasabi
11 More Than Words Ft. Kamille
12 Motivate
13 Notice
14 The Cure
Last night on Twitter, Jade revealed acronyms of songs which included JOA and TYS. So this seems to be legit!
The National Manthem is an appalling title, if true.
The National Manthem??
So the link got deleted.. it must be true?
Anybody else not able to see a title with the "JOC" acronym that Jay posted about?
LOL at 'The National Manthem'!
He meant JOA - Joan of Arc
They revealed on live that Told You So was written by MNEK, Raye and...Ilya.
For anyone who doesn't know, Ilya works very closely with Max Martin and is behind God is a Woman, No Tears Left to Cry, Breathin and Everytime by Ariana. Act My Age by Katy Perry and loads of Dangerous Woman.
'The National Manthem' is objectively trash but I'm still perched to hear it. Salute 2.0 please girls.
All the other titles sound decent enough. A lot less generic than their previous two tracklists at least.
Jade also replied to a fan on Twitter who asked if there would be any songs in a similar vein to 'Change Your Life'/'Nothing Else Matters' on the album. To which she replied "Yes".
NEM is one of my favourites from GD So I welcome it tbh.
Boo Eyelar ?! I don't know her.
They said they're rehearsing for something "important" today. Hope it's X Factor!
Some of these titles :')
I actually love the tracklist. 'Strip', 'Motivate', 'Notice', 'Wasabi', 'Joan of Arc' and even 'National Manthem' all have me intrigued! Love that the 'all females collabs' came to fruition, and that they've opted for relatively unknown features this time around.
I can't at "The National Manthem" 🤦♀️ Annoying that "Woman's World" is deluxe only, it's the track I'm most looking forward to hearing.
Seems a bit of a cop out of the '18 new songs' spiel that they were pushing when 1 will be 5 months old by the time this is released and another is an alternative version from the standard tracklisting... But "Touch (Acoustic)" is one of their best songs ever so I'll hold out hope for "The Cure".
Strip, Wasabi and Told You So are all worked on by MNEK.
American boy and women’s world written by queen Tich
From ATRL:
The song with kamille has a music video. It's on the album preorder on itunes nz!
I've pre-ordered my album
Was a little more expensive from their online shop but if it means I can get tickets for the LM5 tour then so be it
I pre-ordered the Vinyl from Amazon and got the signed up for the pre sale on the no purchase link.
Damn - I just realised.
Cancelled and reordered via Amazon!
Perrie just previewed "Forget You Not" on Instagram - it sounds so good 😍
URBAN LITTLE MIX IS HEREEEEEE
That snippet sounds amazing! Genuinely the most excited I've been for one of their albums.
How is this only a deluxe edition bonus track? I'm dying to hear the full thing!!!
https://twitter.com/perriestheory/status/1055182985916493824
Sounds sooo good! Love the fact Perdue knows she’s gonna get in trouble with the label but went ahead anyway! Sounds like a bop!!
Forget You Now sounds huge! Making everyone buy the deluxe edition just for that... Smart move, Syco.
Why don't labels release the deluxe edition songs as instant grats? Surely they'd entice the public more to buy the more expensive version of the album?
But yeah, 'Forget You Not' sounds so good. That chorus is stuck in my head already.
Joan of Arc leaked...
There's a snippet of it on PopJustice - it sounds good. Harmonies etc
It's a bit of a hot mess; very brash and in your face with some questionable lyrics. It reminds me slightly of a better 'Down and Dirty' (not that that's an accomplishment). It's probably a grower but not single material and definitely not a patch on 'Forget You Not'.
I love it lol
Umm, it's too cocky to the point it annoys me. Maybe the full song will sound better.
Okay listening through headphones improves this immensely. It reminds me a lot of 'The Light Is Coming' (sans the awful sample). A trashy bop.
Joan Of Arc is a whole damn trashy bop and I’m LOVING it !
Joan of Arc, Told You So and The Cure are all showing their song lengths on iTunes which means they will all likely be (officially) released ahead of the album.
Joan of Arc is really amazing, love it. Perfect album track
I'm sure they said second single would be coming before the album release and since we have a 'The Cure acoustic, I'm thinking it could be that.
Snippet of the first Deluxe Track "Forget You Not", which is the only song on the album from the same producers as Shout Out and NMSS. Sounds like a bop!
Oh i assumed thst was single two. Sounds really poppy & great.
They're doing a track by track preview on their Instagram. "Think About Us" sounds really good!
IM SO EXCITED FOR NATIONAL MANTHEM. Mainly coz they gave away SO little and it sounded like it is gonna be one of those that explodes...
Think About Us sounds like pure fire.
Strip sounds like an absolute BANGER
Think about us - YES!! Sounds amazing
Strip - I need to hear more, but sounds good
All the snippets sound incredible so far and low-key better than WLM. Makes sense as to why the girls seemed reluctant to push it as the lead without the Nicki feature.
The snippets are really exciting, I can't wait for the album. Can't believe we still have 16 days to go
Joan of Arc is out in NZ
The monster song sounds great
I'm feeling they are looking to release Joan Of Arc as a promo single tomorrow.
Joan Of Arc is a bit odd... I like it and all of them sound superb but idk
It's very much the The Light Is Coming to Woman Like Me's NTLTC
JOA sounds terrible
So "Joan of Arc" is the song that they teased in the car back in August! The clip on their Insta doesn't give much more away but I'll wait until tomorrow to listen to it in full.
And they confirmed JOA will be released tomorrow. Yay!
I know most of us have been bopping to Joan of Arc for a week when it leaked but I'm happy it'll finally be on Spotify.
Same.
JOA is really good. It shouldn't be a single, but I approve of it being an Instant Grat!
Monster In Me sounds very T Swift Delicate, with it's vocal production and effects. Everything is sounding SO strong so far though. It's very mature I feel.
Strip is slaying me! Sounds single worthy.
I've tried my best not to listen to the leak, of course I heard the instagram preview and the one earlier in the year, but that's it.
Does 'Love A Girl Right' sample... 'Thong Song'???! Lmao.
I'm unsure about Love A Girl Right but I looove the use of the Thong Song. Can't wait to hear the full thing.
There's a promo video for Joan or Arc on their Instagram - looks good!
I'm guessing that's coming tonight too?
Where are you guys hearing these songs, has the album leaked?
They're releasing clips all over their social media!
Yep. I'm so ready for 'Joan Of Arc' video! Love that their label are putting time and effort into this era!
All the clips are sounding great, not 100% sure on Monster Like Me but I think it'll be one of those that's quite subtle and creeps up on you so it might need the whole song rather than a short clip.
I just pre-ordered Japanese edition of #LM5.
It had “Only You (Acoustic)” for track 19.
Notice has been leaked! Why is everything leaking this era?
Joan of Arc has been stuck in my head all day. I LOVE it 😍 The combination of the “I put my rock on my own hand” segment with THAT production is my ultimate highlight. Such an exciting album track, can’t wait for more!
Wait at 'Notice' also being great. This, JOA (so bloody infectious) and 'Forget You Not' have me so unbelievably hyped for the album.
Edit: the 'Love a Girl Right' snippet is ace too. Sounds like it'd slot right into the 'Salute' era.
Oh wow yes Notice sounds impressive, I too am majorly hyped.
Notice is awesome.
I'm calling it already - their best album!
Okay and now American Boy samples "Sway"?! I am slayed.
Joan of Arc is growing on me. Only don't like the "Hell yea" part, cringey every single time.
American Boy is def the weakest of the snippets for me so far. It's alright, but I can see that being the most fillery song on the album.
Told You So is sounding so super cute, probably not one I'll have on loop, but I love the wine reference!
American Boy and Monster are my favourites! I added Defaze about American Boy being second only to Forget You Not.
'Told You So' sounds a bit saccharine for my liking. Probably my least favourite snippet so far. Hopefully the full track is boppier.
Notice and Motivate both leaked. A bit worrying with 2 weeks to go still.
Wow am I excited about Wasabi from that snippet! Holy shizballs!!
Wasabi sounds really REALLY interesting!! SO different!
Ooo, I love 'Motivate'. Wacky as hell, but it works.
'Wasabi' sounds like a career-highlight from that tiny clip alone. It's MNEK on the production, right? Definitely the track I'm most hyped for.
Edit: 'More Than Words' sounds epic too. I've loved every snippet bar 'Told You So' (that 'put the kettle on' line is atrocious).
Avoiding all these teasers and leaks but I'm LOVING 'Joan Of Arc' a looot.
I NEED Wasabi, it sounds so so weird but in a good way, I mean look at Power! That was bonkers but totally worked, I already have such high hopes for Wasabi.
'Forget You Not' snippet is out and it sounds incredible. How it was relegated to Deluxe track I'll never know.
THE CURE
f*** me 😭😭
FORGET YOU NOT
f*** me 😭😭
"Woman's World" definitely sounds like it's coming to be the big ballad of the album!
Has half of the album leaked or something?
Here's the full album sampler.
It sounds a lot more cohesive than Get Weird and Glory Days.
I'm most excited for Strip, Wasabi, Forget You Not and American Boy. (As well as Motivate in HQ).
'Told You So' is a bit... lame, but I had a feeling I wouldn't be a fan based on the snippet. They really wasted MNEK on this?
One dud isn't bad going (and it isn't nearly as offensive as 'Oops' and 'Down and Dirty' so let's celebrate that).
I think I’m most hyped for ‘Notice’, ‘Forget Me Not’ and ‘Wasabi’ from the teasers! Also quite intrigued for ‘Woman’s World’ because of the lyrics that we’ve been exposed to - the title already sounded empowering but the snippet has kicked it up a gear. I really admire how much they speak up about women’s rights.
Still cannot get enough of ‘Joan of Arc’ at the moment, debuted straight at #1 in my personal chart
The samplers have been removed from everywhere, is there anywhere I can hear?
On their social media!
Told You So is out there in full and it’s cute I like it . It gives me such a Destiny’s Child ‘Girl’ vibe !
Told You So is now coming at midnight "ironically".
Told You So isn’t doing anything for me unfortunately. A bit skippable.
'Told You So' is pretty cute lyrically, gotta love a therapeutic girly sleepover, but it's not quite WOWing me. Hoping for better slow moments elsewhere on the album.
'Joan of Arc' really is addictive. Wasn't a fan at all on first listen but it's so undeniably infectious. Jade's 'G-O-DD-E-S-S' part is such a moment.
Just give us Wasabi already.
Joan or Arc - first week 3,056,706 Spotify streams
Why is LM5 already charting on about 60 Apple Music charts?
The UK isn’t showing on the chart though - it’s strange.
Told You So is cute but it feels quite DNA or Saltute rather than something that's teasing LM5, but I guess between that, Woman Like Me and Joan Of Arc, we've got three very different sides to the album sonically.
Where's the promo for this???? Why haven't they got anything else lined up with Michael McIntyre?!?
They have the Apple Music performance on Tuesday night which will be live streamed. It is odd that they've not announced anything else though.
Joe pointed out that they're not even doing Children In Need: Rocks 😩
Could The Greatest Showman re-issue possibly be a threat? It’s constantly been higher on iTunes pre-order and I just feel like there’s not a whole lot of hype for this album at the moment, they could benefit from Syco drama though.
Edit: Just realised Mumford & Sons are up against them too! I still think they will easily be number one but maybe not with the longest chart run and this campaign could possibly be a Salute sort of album performance!
I do have to say, that even though i think the album will be a great success overall, at this point, it’s going more under the radar than their past two releases. (I heard single 2’s promo will be bigger). At this point with Glory Days it was very clear that Little Mix had this from tracking the pre-orders. This time round Michael Buble and Mumford have both been way ahead of Little Mix on pre-orders the entire time (both have had better promo than them. For example have been on Graham Norton the last two weeks - Buble had Norton AND XF this weekend. I’m baffled Little Mix still haven’t been booked for Norton since Secret Love Song). So be surprised at a #3 debut this time, possibly lower if Ariana does indeed release the same week.
I can see the album easily making #1 in the New Year if it does fail to get there on release week.
Michael Buble is already #1 on Amazon’s entire album chart and iTunes pre-orders. They stand literally no chance against him. His promo has been amazing though - that carpool karaoke that aired during stand up, Graham Norton, X Factor.
Yeah I wanted to be optimistic but it’s becoming pretty obvious they aren’t gonna get the #1 off the bat. Maybe they could climb there later but regardless, as long as the album performs well I’m not too fussed over the peak. I’m mostly annoyed that people will clearly take this as an reason to claim that they’re “over” especially since the lead missed #1 as well.
I’m interested to see how they’ll perform on Spotify. If I remember correctly, all the Glory Days track entered the Top 200 that first day. I’d love if they could replicate that feat this time around.
Yeah, it’s a massive shame they didn’t push the promo a bit more (instead of wasting time with stuff like EMAs and Apple concert (which are still great for fans but not for sales). I agree they might make it in the new year too.
I noticed the Amazon thing today too.
It's a shame really as it could have been quite easy for them to get number 1.
They'll prob surprise us all and still get that number 1 somehow!

Pre ordered Super Deluxe.
Start my new job on the same day so unable to go out and buy it.
Will the CD be seperate from the book? Like in its own case.
Strange question but was worrying about what may happen as I’m having it delivered and I’ve had a few bad experiences in the past.
It'll be an all in one package. It'll be a hardback copy sorta like a thinner DVD size.
The Cure is out there in full
I LOVE IT
Told You So and The Cure are my faves so far
Probably my favourite of the promo singles. The verses are amazing!
The Cure is by far my favorite of the 4 songs released. Its incredible and is going to be an amazing album closer
The Cure is by far my favourite instagrat!
Wow at the album already being #3 on Apple Music.
This album is going to do very well on streaming!
I still think it has a chance at number 1
Out in NZ! I'm at 'Think About Us' and already gagged. I was NOT expecting it to be such a bop.
I reviewed the standard and Monster In Me is incredible to me. I hope people agree it's one of their best ever ballads.
Clara Amfo did not lie, this album really is f***ing great. Not a single track (bar possibly 'Told You So', as cute as it is) below an 8/10 for me. Whew. 'Forget You Not' is THE one.
I am struggling to understand how "Forget You Not" is only a deluxe track? For me its better than half the songs on the standard album
I'm really not sold on 'Strip' as a single. It's a good song and I love the message, but it and WLM are definitely in the bottom half of the album. 'Wasabi' would've been a much better choice.
THINK ABOUT US. OH WOW. Wasn't expecting this kinda banger for some reason.
The studio version of Strip is very good. I'm not sure it'll work as a single, but I appreciate just how different it is not only for LM but for pop in general and it's so encouraging just how much the girls love it.
Already my fave LM album tbh.
It's so much more mature and serves perfectly as the follow up to Salute (which was their best album up until now for me) and imo changes the game in pop a lil bit. I'm really intrigued to see how 'Strip' is gonna do coz it's either gonna smash or gonna flop. I can't see much middle ground for it.
They definitely have songs that'd serve better as singles, but I appreciate the bold choice for this and it's clear that the girls absolutely adore it.
After the first listen: There are no bad songs. Think About Us is by far my favorite, because I'm basic like that. Distant seconds are Forget You Not, More Than Words, Motivate, Wasabi.
Of course all this will change after I listen to this more times.
It is too early to say if it provides the highs of other albums do but it is easy to see that it is their most well thought out and cohesive album to date.
Oh wow, clearly their best album! I wouldn't be mad if they pulled a Dua Lipa and released more than half of the album as singles, everything is great! I also realized they teased Monster In Me in an interview quite a while back. I must admit that every track is better than what I expected from hearing the snippets.
Highlights:
(WELL THE WHOLE THING, but I narrowed it down a bit)
Think About Us
Strip
Monster In Me
Joan Of Arc (Already Iconic.)
American Boy
Wasabi (OMG THIS IS MORE THAN ICONIC!!)
Motivate (If Destiny's Child and The Spice Girls collaborated)
The Cure
Forget You Not (As good as I was expecting)
I'll be expecting the singles to be Think About Us and Wasabi, but I wouldn't be mad with pretty much any of them.
Initial thoughts of the new songs, the best being Wasabi, Strip (rapidly keeps growing on more listens, I've had a few), Motivate and The Cure.
Think About Us - the Touch of this album, undoubtedly a hit and a pop banger that is fab, but I'm not *quite* living for it as much as others seem to be!
Strip - as I said in the thread, I really like it but having heard everything I just can't quite see it as the best choice for second single. I totally agree it's going to be an all or nothing kind of song, I suppose Wasabi would be the same though and I guess the girls loving it and wanting to push the hell out of it, plus the message, is half the battle.
Monster In Me - a great little ballad, more fleshed out than a lot of their others (but I like that rawness sometimes).
Love A Girl Right - the Thong Song sample is a bit jarring and odd, but I feel like this'll grow a lot.
American Boy - kind of a lesser Woman Like Me, light bop but not an absolute fave.
Wasabi - I'd prefer this as second single if they wanted to go a bit out there, but I appreciate that it doesn't have that empowering message. Idk there's just something about this that clicks that bit more than Strip for me.
More Than Words - really nice ballad, nothing hugely special.
Motivate - kind of gives me a 90s version of I Like It by Cardi B teas, fabbb <3
Notice - this puts me in mind of what Lauren Jauregui's debut *should* have been, it's got that vibe but is just way more fleshed out and memorable.
The Cure - pop brilliance, so hooky!
Forget You Not - BOP, it's nothing we haven't heard in other songs but it really works, a bit different than their usual pop bops with the DJ Mustard vibes.
Woman's World - LOVE the theme of this, musically it kind of puts me in mind of a beefed up Little Me, the lyrics definitely elevate me but it really takes off as it goes off!
‘Wasabi”, ‘Forget You Not’ and ‘The Cure’ are definitely favourites on first listen. Was getting some Black Eyes Peas ‘Shut Up’ vibes in parts of Wasabi.
Wasn’t particular over keen on ‘Woman’s World’ or ‘More Than Words”.
Oh wow this album is AMAZING definitely there best album by far on first listen !
I'm so unbelievably happy with this album. The highs are still incredible and yet there's not a single song that I don't like (unlike GD that had similar highs). Tentative ranking for me:
Career highlights:
1) Forget You Not
2) Wasabi
3) Think About Us
4) American Boy
5) Motivate
6) Monster In Me
Great:
7) Love a Girl Right
8) Notice
9) Joan of Arc
Good:
10) More Than Words
11) Strip
12) Woman Like Me
Cute, if unspectacular:
13) The Cure
14) Woman's World
15) Told You So
I agree this could be their best album too, I couldn't pick a single song I disliked or wouldn't really go back to whereas all the others have at least 2 or 3 (or like half the album in the case of DNA ). Obviously it is hard to compare atm to the highs of all of the others as those songs are among all time faves for me, but in terms of being cohesive and consistent, this is definitely it.
Very excited to listen to this in full. Very positive reviews so I have high hopes
Being a bit of a geek and trying to wait until I hold the CD in my hands and play it from the CD and hear it that way. Always try and do that with artists I’m big fans of although I’ll probably have caved by 2am
Number 6 on UK iTunes already
Buble at 20
Edit: iTunes has refreshed and they are behind Buble now
Mumford - 1
Buble - 3
LM5 - 4
Notice and More Than Words really just clicked with me.
Wasabi and Think About us are so good!! I also actually instantly liked strip! Tbh this is a great pop album so impressed
This entire album is giving me Tell Me You Love Me teas, just the right balance between old and new LM
First Impressions:
- Strip is BEYOND AMAZING. Part of it is v. urban, the other part sounds v. 2 am drunk vogueing in the club
- American Boy could be inserted in Fifth Harmony's self-titled and I wouldn't tell the difference
- I think there's a lot more to Love A Girl Right than the Sisqo sample, the Santana-esque background guitar sent me *.* Very early 2000's
- FORGET ME NOT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SOUND TINASHE SHOULD HAVE COME BACK WITH. A BOP
- Someone in the YT comments said Wasabi sounds like a PCD song, I definitely agree
01. Forget Me Not
02. Motivate
03. Wasabi
04. Love A Girl Right
05. Strip
06. The Cure
07. American Boy
08. Notice
09. Woman Like Me
10. Think About Us
11. Woman's World
12. Joan Of Arc
13. Monster In Me
14. More Than Words
15. Told You So
This is a very solid album!
My ranking after a fair few listens:
01. Forget Me Not
02. Think About Us
03. Wasabi
04. Monster In Me
05. The Cure
06. Motivate
07. Strip
08. Woman Like Me
09. Joan Of Arc
10. More Than Words
11. American Boy
12. Love A Girl Right
13. Told You So
14. Notice
15. Woman's World
Not a single song below 7 for me though! The bottom 5 or so I'd probably love if they were on 'Salute'. Particularly LAGR & AB!
Every time I've listened to the album though, Strip feels like it's been creeping up my affections.. It's ridiculously infectious, I should never have doubted it
The "Oh oh"s in 'Wasabi' give me major 'Never Leave You (Uh Oh)' by Lumidee vibes.
More Than Words video has been uploaded overnight
Urgh - kworb isn’t updating their album positions.
So annoying.
I’m really let down by ‘monster in me’, the clip suggested it would be an wxperimental number in the vein of ‘why try’ by ariana but instead its just a dated stargate track from 2005.
Monster in Me is top 4 on the album for me. I don’t think I’ve been that moved by a Little Mix ballad before.
FORGET ME NOT IS A DELUXE TRACK ????????????
They are totally going to give this 'White Lies' teas on tour aren't they
After few listens, my highlights would be Woman's World (very underrated), Think About Us, Wasabi, Monster In Me, and More Than Words. It's such a great bold album ❤️
My early ranking would be:
1 Monster In Me
2 Forget You Not
3 Motivate
4 Strip
5 Joan of Arc
6 More Than Words
7 American Boy
8 Wasabi
9 Woman Like Me
10 Think About Us
11 The Cure
12 Only You
13 Woman's World
14 Love a Girl Right
15 Notice
16 Told You So
17 National Manthem
18 Cure Stripped
I think there are some interesting bops in the form of Joan of Arc, Wasabi and Strip (which is good when it finally gets going). I really like Monster in Me and I assume Think About Us will be released as that seems quite accessible. None of the others really stand out for me at the moment. There’s kind of a mid-tempo, doesn’t really go anywhere feel with some songs giving me early 00s American girl group vibes.
This is... not a good album. At all.
Strip is absolute trash. More Than Words is an overproduced mess looking desperately for a melody that never comes. I don't know how they're still making tracks like Think About Us at this point in their career.
Forget You Not is decent, as in halfway great but slightly lacking in production terms. There's a general air of cheapness across the whole thing really. I know their budget doesn't stretch to A-list producers or songwriters but Rita Ora keeps getting tracks that sound expensive.
The Cure is by far and away the best track here and surely has to be the second single. On balance I'm not disappointed because they haven't made a great album since Salute but this is not the tea.
My ranking based on second listen:
1. Wasabi
2. Think About Us
3. Joan Of Arc
4. Strip
5. Woman Like Me
6. American Boy
7. Monster In Me
8. Forget You Not
9. More Than Words
10. Only You
11. The Cure (Stripped)
12. Woman's World
13. Love A Girl Right
14. Motivate
15. National Manthem
16. Notice
17. The Cure
18. Told You So
A lot of this album is FIRE!!
Way better than the last album, thankfully.
This album is brilliant on the first couple of listens!
Rita's team can get her ANYTHING though.
This album could quite possibly be their best for me. It sounds so mature and together.
Strip is a MASSIVE BOP but I absolutely adore Monster in Me and More Than Words.
This album is really solid on first full listen. "Strip" and "Wasabi" are probably two of the most out-there songs that they've ever done and I can see them both growing me on me a lot. I really like "The Cure" and "Monster in Me", probably two of their best ballads ever although the former tips it for me. "Forget You Not" didn't disappoint, such a huge bop, as is "Think About Us".
My only issue is "Only You" being tacked on at the end, it doesn't fit in with the sound of the album at all. It would have made sense if they'd included the acoustic version or the version that they performed at the Apple Music Festival the other day. I never got the hate for it that most here did though so I'm not that mad.
After a 4th listen all of the way through, I really think especially considering the length of the album, they should stretch to 6 singles and I've decided the single run should be:
Woman Like Me
Strip
Monster In Me (A great Winter Single)
Think About Us (Perfect for the Spring)
Wasabi (Extended Single Mix)
Forget You Not (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) LOL Joke, but probably a rent-a-rapper.
i don’t think this is a good record at all. the tone throughout is v severe? it lacks melody and isn’t cohesive at all...god knows what they will select as future singles
really disappointed
Number 1 on Apple Music
Yeah their albums are usually very 4 great singles and filler. This is probably the first time where I can see multiple single choices.
Doesn’t have the highs of GD but has less lows.
Such a good album!!
I was nervous after hearing Woman Like Me and Joan of Arc as the first tracks from the album I was thinking it may not be to my taste but I was definitely wrong.
Really enjoyable album. On first listen American Boy was actually my favourite but I’m a fan of Wasbai, Think About Us, The Cure and Woman’s World.
It’s risky but I think it’ll pay off for them it’s good to see them do something different as well so huge props to them for doing that.
Listening again after work but on first listen I’m impressed
Honestly Jark is so dead on. Theres barely a melody on this album & feels very “loud” but not in a good ‘salute’ way. I don’t see many singles here & can 100% see why Syco didnt want ‘Strip’ at the first single. If I were them, I’d push ‘Monster In Me’ out as a winter ballad & then ‘Forget You Not’ as a third single then go away, relisten to ‘get weird’ and go back to making bouncy, pop music. I’m all for female empowerment but this record deels very Beyoncé / Rihanna leftovers.
saying there's barely a melody is a reach + a half. did you listen on mute?
The album hasn’t fully clicked with me yet. I like Think About Us, Monster in Me, The Cure, and More Than Words and could see these as a good future single. I am not feeling Joan of Arc or Strip. Both are just tuneless noise in my opinion and the whole female empowerment message is tired. But disappointed after the last 2 albums.
After 2 listens I'd say it's their second-best album after Salute.
The day of album release their only #3 on Uk itunes? Kind of disappointing considering all the hype with the release.
Highs
Think About Us
Strip
Joan of Arc
Love a Girl Right
Told You So
Wasabi
Ok
Woman Like Me
Motivate
The Cure
Forget You Not
Lows
Monster in Me
American Boy
More Than Words (verses are cool, but that chorus......c'mon)
Notice
Woman's World
SINGLES
1. Woman Like Me
2. Strip
3. Think About Us
4. Wasabi (remix)
1. LM5
2. Salute
3. Get Weird
4. Glory Days
5. DNA
I'm obsessed with this album
Really strong on first listen! I was expecting another sweetener after the single/promo singles but this is so consistent on the whole. For me this lacks the highs of Get Weird or Glory Days in standouts but it's def consistent and a very strong album!
My ranking on 1st listen
Love:
1. Only you (this'll def drop but I'm just so familiar with it)
2. Monster in me
3. The cure
4. Think about us
5. Womans world
6. Wasabi
Really like:
7. Forget you not
8. More than words
9. Notice
10. The Cure (stripped)
Like:
11. Woman like me
12. Strip
13. The national manthem
Forgettable/filler-ish:
14. Told you so
15. Love a girl right
16. Motivate
Hate:
17. American boy
18. Joan of arc
Here's what I'd do as singles from now...
02. Think About Us > It's safe enough to get the stans they lost with WLM <
[s]03. Monster In Me > Perform at The Brits and if it takes off stick with it and then move on to FYB <
03. Forget You Not > BGT finals/June <
04. Wasabi > Oct to tie in with tour <
05. The Cure > XF final <
My only concern is - what if Strip flops hard and that changes their mind about Wasabi being a single cuz they are kinda similiar.
But I still have faith in Strip!
Surprised Think About Us isn't their second single...I could see it doing it Touch and easily the best thing on this album
Strip on the other hand is awful and won't go down well with the GP
The album is number 2 globally on iTunes (behind Michael B actually)
American Boy is so underrated! Third listen now and it’s my stand out favorite.
So many highs though as a whole it’s very strong probably their best.
Love A Girl Right is SUCH a bop
So I finally listened to the album in full and I’m not liking it as much as I wanted too, there’s only four songs that I could see myself going back to. ‘Forget You Not’, ‘Think About Us’, Monster In Me’ and ‘Only You’. Such a massive drop in quality from Glory Days, although I think this is more of a sound their pushing for rather than pure pop like ‘Glory Days’! I can’t see anything past another era like ‘Salute’.
They do have some absolute bangers, I just hope the album grows on me!
From what I've managed to hear so far I agree, uts a change in sound and not as enjoyable, the pop bangers route i enjoyed from their last 2 albums aren't there and its diaappointing. I keep getting a spice girls forever vibe from this which isn't a compliment.
I can't believe there are people underwhelmed by this album. This is their first truly great album besides Salute.
Personally I'm not getting the 'Forever' comparison that FTF has made. Like, the only comparison between it and this is surely coz they've gone more Urban from pure pop?
Sorryyyyyyy I don't mean to sound like I'm getting on at people lmao. I'm just trying to wrap my head around certain comparisons haha.
So, just the usual stan stuff, ya know

LM5 is #3 in the mids in healthy sales.
Promo tonight too
I still they’ll get the number one album the week after Christmas if they don’t get it this week.
If it’s really close between the top 3, I think they’ll get it.
I didnt expect the album to be number 3, i am sure the sales are very close.
The promotion lined up could hopefully be enough for it to make number 1.
Streaming will play a huge advantage! Going to be a close battle...
Proper three way tussle going on between Mumford, Buble and Little Mix for top album this week, all big sales, too close to call. Exciting!
Judging by Mint Royale tweet am guessing its really close between all 3?
https://twitter.com/MintRoyale
I reckon M&S are frontloaded. I think it's a battle between Buble and LM.. and it could literally come down to streams!
M&S are embarking on a world tour which is supposed to set a record or something so I think a hell of a lot of their orders would have been tour bundles.
We need to hope that their performance of WLM goes down well enough tonight and see if it has any impact on the album.. I'm unsure in all honesty coz WLM doesn't strike me as the album selling type.
Where are they performing WLM Jonjo? Sorry for being a flop fan
They’re 5k behind #1.
Thank you for the info,
Mint Royale made it sound alot closer than 5k, Hopefully by Monday's update with Official charts they have closed that gap.
5k is doable - all depends on how they hold up over the next few days.
Stream people!
I've listened a few times now, and while it's far from being my favourite album of theirs, each song continues to grow with each listen. I wouldn't say there's any BAD tracks, but there's more lows compared to Get Weird and Glory Days. I'm not getting the love for Strip, although I guess there's time for it to grow too.
Early ranking:
1. Monster in Me
2. Think About Us
3. The Cure
4. American Boy
5. Told You So
6. Forget You Not
7. Wasabi
8. Woman Like Me
9. The Cure (Stripped)
10. Only You
11. Woman's World
12. Love a Girl Right
13. Motivate
14. Strip
15. More Than Words
16. Joan of Arc
17. Notice
18. The National Manthem
Expected this to have a much better 1st day on Spotify.
Glad Think About Us is the highest charting album track.
WASABI IS THAT BOP
Yeah, with only a 5k difference it’ll all depend on who was the least front loaded. Hopefully the promo tonight can push them up on iTunes and they’re leading the race on all major streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube). It’s not out of the picture just yet.
I didn't expect Mumford to be their biggest competition. Buble doesn't have a single song on the Spotify top 200 so I guess blocking him is happening for sure. But I want them to block Mumford too ugh
Not necessarily my favs but I could see all these tracks working as singles and being reasonable hits with a push:
Think About Us, Wasabi, Monster in Me, The Cure, Told You So, Forget You Not, Motivate and American Boy.
I'm giving this a more detailed listen now. I do believe that as a whole songwise it's better than Glory Days, but the one thing I'm picking up on is how much they're overdoing it with the faux-Carribean accents here and it feels really unauthentic.
*edit - 'The Cure' is a real key highlight on this. Strong song!
Been a casual follower of theirs and listened some albums too... but Love a Girl Right, the obvious mash-up of Mis-Teeq and Sisqo, is so laughably bad that it's almost genius! Got to give some props there!!
That comparison to Spice Girls' Forever is definitely fair.
I was slightly disappointed on first listen but now I've had a 2nd and 3rd listen, I'm really enjoying this album. I appreciate the more mature sound (which is what I've ALWAYS wanted from them) - it's just a bit 'bopless' for my liking but there's a good mix of choons. 'Wasabi' is a standout, it needs to be a minute longer!
So MintRoyale said on Twitter he think this is heading for #3..
Waiting for tomorrow's official update to see what we are dealing with gap wise, Hopefully they don't end up at #3.
I bet the entire top 3 will all easily outsell last weeks #1 too! It’s a shame that they all released on the same week.
I’m sure the album will easily stay top 10 over the next few weeks too as the lead up to Christmas approaches.
A 5k lead isn’t that much (in my opinion).
I think they can do it with streaming.
Yesterday they were down by 5k and he said t was too close to call. Today he said they’ll be #3 so I’m assuming the gap is larger than 5k now.
LM5 is number 1 on Apple Music worldwide.
Whoop!
Oh really? Looks like they might have to settle for 3rd place then
Well that's a shame
He did have great promo!
Could they get to number 2?
Performing on strictly on the 9th.
About bloody time.
I wonder what they'll perform
But they'll be performing on Summertime Ball at the same day...
Is is good they have promotion coming up and a first Strictly performance.
I am slightly disappointed they seem to be out of the running to get their 2nd Number 1 album for now.
Maybe, they will climb to number 1 in the coming weeks/months.
Aslong as they don't waste both performances on "Strip" I'll be happy
Need to perform a song to sell the album over christmas strip 100% isn't the song to do that.
Monster in me and Wasabi to be performed please.
They denied that they are performing on the X Factor final at all just now on Radio 1.
LM5 has sold 24,000 less copies than Glory Days had at the same point in time. 6,000 behind Bublé, and 3,000 behind Mumford. I’m still optimistic that anything can happen, they’re outstreaming them both, and had they’re album signing at HMV today. And tbf, I’m only buying my copy tomorrow lol
They shot themselves in the foot with the single choices so far.
I'll be happy with #2. They can make it.
A little disappointing but their GD's momentum was always going to be hard to maintain. Nearly 40k over the weekend is still really stellar sales!
Their promo isn’t as good as GD’s one too
Attended their HMV signing tonight wasn't too keen on how it was handled by the HMV staff - we were left queuing OUTSIDE in the pouring rain and 4 degrees celsius temperature for 2 hours it was worth the wait though, selfies weren't allowed but I had a fantastic tiny little chat with all four of them. They look amazing in real life and were all so so sweet - all four of them complimented my hair!
I think some are forgetting this is a girl band and to be on album 5 with these sales is utterly amazing!
It’s a shame it’ll miss no 1 but hopefully it can get there at some point.
I’m so committed to the girls and trying to get this to number one, that I’m playing the album all day on the lowest volume while I’m at work, and restarting it every time it finished. Getting them streams 😂😂

'Wasabi' is doing incredibly well given how low it is on the tracklist. Hopefully that convinces them to give it the single treatment at some point! Really impressed with how well 'Strip' is holding up too.
I hadn't realised Clara Amfo had given 'More Than Words' a spin on her show today. I love how much of a stan she is.
Having listened to this 3 times now this has grown absolutely massively on me. There's not one track that I don't enjoy at all.
Apart from 'Only You' the tracks go really well together and I'd say it's probably their most cohesive album to date.
I’m going to need an extended version of Wasabi. Obsessed!
57,106 - Buble
49,365 - Mumford
48,069 - Little Mix
Looks like they'll take #2 by Friday, their predicted sales are 57k for the week. I really thought they'd manage closer to 70k, like Buble will but I guess he just really did have much stronger promo.
I guess missing streaming data could push them above 60k, which is line with what Get Weird opened with, isn't it? Can't say I find those sales worrying at all, presumably they'll sell well in the lead up to Christmas and I'm still fairly confident they'll get #1 in the New Year.
They will be consistent sellers - will it match glory days in the long run, probably not.
But for nowadays, these are good sales.
They defo won't be leaving the top 10 until the new year
Isn't next week quite a big week for releases? Take That, Rita Ora & 2nd week Bublé (and I'm sure there's an OAP fave releasing too - will have a gander tomorrow)
Also 57k total is niiiice for this week. Think I predicted around the 60k mark so being 3k off seems fair considering lack of promo durung the week of release.
Not Little Mix causing Ariana Grande to fight Piers Morgan on Twitter
First the controversy with Woman Like Me, now Strip. The ladies are causing so much fuss unintentionally, I'm screaming
I did expect sales of at least 70,000 this week but their current sales have no worrying signals as of yet.
With the little ass promo we got, I think it's ok. With all the promo coming in december, it will make up for it. Glory Days was a masterclass in creating buzz so it was obviously not going to be the same.
Down to 5 on iTunes
ITunes downloads count for nothing in all honesty and tbf, it's 2 compilations that are above them
They'll fall to at least #8 when new releases get releases tonight too.
Buble sold mostly a bulk from pre-orders. And in terms of pre-orders all Little Mix had was X Factor where they were put on right at the very start for some reason, when strictly was still on and the show had hardly started, no other act was given that slot oddly. The week before the album release Buble had Graham Norton (Which pushed him to #1 on amazon) and THEN X Factor (on at a better time than LM) the same weekend. A few weeks before that he had the carpool karakoke, and no, his "singles" didn't have more effect, but people always go for albums rather than singles with Buble, it's like with Radio 2 playlisting, people hear the songs and go for the album. The Stand Up For Cancer had lots of viewers, and his 15-minute carpool was kind of major for him, as soon as it was shown his album pre-order went from 38 to 4 and 8 on Amazon, and he didn't leave the top 10 after that, it was trending #1 on Youtube for about a week, too. So yes, his promo was a lot better managed. Little Mix are selling roughly the same as him on a day to day basis now, since their performance on MM, but yeah, his pre-orders from promo were major.
61550 Buble
53468 Mumford
52135 Little Mix
Mumford gained on them a bit, the difference is probably not doable for tomorrow
Is streaming missing?
Im gonna remain optimistic and have hope they'll do it by about 20 copies or something. Mumfords had a HMV signing yday so that probs kept them ahead.
I wonder how they'll hold up next week? They have 2nd week Buble, Take That and Rita Ora as well as OAP faves (time of year is perfect for them) Alfie Boe, Cliff Richard and a new Philarmonic Roy Orbison album...
Apart from XF (3 weeks before album release) and Michael McIntyre, what were LM other prime time promo? The apple music festival wasn't on a channel or at a prime time, neither were the EMAs or the Teen Choice Awards.
It's OK though, coz it seems like they've just scattered their promo out more as opposed to it all centering on one week.
Little Mix is currently projected to lose out to Mumford by 47 copies! Surely streaming data will help them overtake, even if Mumford do have more signings.
I cant see them getting number 2 now but hopefully streaming might help them get there.
Vinyl coming on 7th December!
Love that they're giving it new artwork, a stunning pic
Really like that artwork! The text works so much better than on any of the other covers.
Oooh!
I like the Vinyl cover!
Extra excited for the vinyl now I know it’s new artwork!
Debuts at 3 😞
Debuts at #3 with 56k sold.
Bit disappointing but it'll likely be a consistent seller over Christmas. Hopefully the promo in the next few weeks will give it a new peak.
Such a shame.. I know it's still a great number for a female act especially given they haven't done much promo for the album but still.. it's sort of their first album after Syco and with a new sound and I feat they'll look at the numbers and think the problem is the mature sound or Syco kicking them.
56k is great but it’s almost half what Glory Days opened on so it’s a little disappointing. I still think they’ll peak in December / January though.
One of the most obvious problems is the lack of a clean version but if that was an intentional choice to get rid of their younger fans then I disagree but what can we do.
A top 3 album is nothing to frown about a great achievement . Would have easily gone number 1 in a more quite week . And it still just might repeak another week !
I think #3 is fine, and it'll be certified Silver next week. There's no major releases at all scheduled in December so I definitely think they will repeak before Christmas.
"The Cure" managed to be their third song to chart somehow (#49) even though "Think About Us" was in Monday's midweeks - does anyone know how that happened?
The Cure overtook in the Wednesday midweeks, with a significant increase in audio streams!
The Cure was on some big Apple Music playlists!
At least we got the Woman Like Me repeak and a great chart entry for Strip, I don't understand why they don't just push that instead of 'Think About Us', not even 'Hair' outpeaked 'Strip'.
The vinyl artwork is actually incredible. I don't know why I'm so besotted with it but I am! I think it feels very LM5 and it's done in such a simple but effective way! Incredible
I really like both of the LM5 artworks but that vinyl one is deffo gonna be the itunes cover!
I'm starting to think that this is their best album to date and I shock myself with this news because they have some bloody good albums.
First positions are in for the album!

No X Factor final performance after all .
Probs the look on Simons face when they promote ‘think about us’
Not surprised after all, but I was still hoping that Simon had no ill will against the girls... ugh. Guess that whole drama is worse than we'd thought.
Nvm. Strictly semi performance will probs have higher ratings though! So yay at that.
Music Week just revealed LM5 shifted 9,457 sale-equivalent streams last week.
After one week its down to #19 on UK itunes and is in danger of falling out of the USA top 200 .
iTunes sales won't make a huge amount of difference. It'll stay top 10 the next two weeks and probably be back to top 3 after Strictly/Graham.
I hope they do Top of the Pops Christmas/New Year this year, they haven't done it since...MOVE!
Are the Xmas TOTP specials still going? I thought they were canceled like last year?
#8 in the mids.
Is that bad?
I'm calling this a success. Their promo has been very poor in comparison to SOTME atm, and mix that in with a big week for OAP fave releases (Alfie Boe, Roy Orbison Philharmonic, Cliff Richard & a 2nd week Bublé) as well as new Take That and a 6 year awaited Rita album, it's great going imo.
I wouldn't go as far to say it was "very poor" promo at all, not even in comparison to the last album. I do agree that the album has still been a success so far though. Perhaps we expected higher first week sales but I think we all anticipated this era would be a step down from the massive success of Glory Days. The album is bound to stick around and gain strong Christmas sales and I'm fairly sure it'll be reclimbing the chart in the New Year and get to #1. I'm not worried at all by how things are going.
8 is good. It will most likely go back to the top 5 once the newbies start falling during the week.
I predict a number 6 finish for the album this week.
FOUR?? Xmas Day, NYE & what are the others?
Are they 9 today? Or 7?
This debuted at #40 in the US.
DNA - #4
Salute - #6
Get Weird - #13
Glory Days - #25
LM5 - #40
the decline
GG with most top 40 albums in the US
1. The Supremes : 16
2. Destiny's Child, TLC : 6
3. Little Mix, Salt-N-Pepa : 5
4. Spice Girls, The Pussycat Dolls, En Vogue : 3
Always confused me how their US peaks have got lower with each album... I was under the impression that right now would be the biggest they've ever been over there.
Crazy to think their first two albums were Top 10s!
Damn, 40 really is a disappointing debut for them, I can't see them trying with the US this era which is a great shame.
Seriously? Were people honestly expecting more in the US? The fact it's top 40 considering their lack of profile there is good.
It'll be out the top 100 next week, possibly top 200. But for an act getting literally zero promotion or radio airplay and selling basically off name alone, despite no exposure? I'd consider it a success.
I genuinely didn't think it'd do anything in the US.
There weren't even physicals available there, were there?
Yeah this is the first time they didn’t bother with a physical over there apparently!
Top 40 without a CD is actually not that bad
If they had a radio single in the USA the album would have done much better. Woman like me has been on the USA Spotify top 100 since its release but not sending it for radio adds is a big mistake. The demand is their in the USA but Little Mix and their management need to make a push if they want USA success.
#8 on the global chart selling 96.000 copies this week.
I blame the awful album title for underperformance.. I mean in which universe thing called LM5 will sell millions? Not in this.
Because a name is what sells an album!?
I mean, LM5 is awful and lazy title.
But I don't think its what the lower sales are down too.
If anything it be WLM isn't an album selling single isn't as catchy as shout out to my ex.
Just catching up god knows why they're wasting a strictly performance on WLM it won't do anything for the album.
I don't mind LM5, but I think "Strip" or "Woman's World" would have been a better album title.
LM5 is so bland and "fan title", I mean Lady Gaga is preparing her LG6 in fan forums.. To me the best album title also sells the album: think about Adele's string of 19, 21, 25, Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head, Lady Gaga's Born This Way or even Ed Sheerans +, x and Divide. They have a meaning. What's the meaning behind LM5 for casual listener? Two letters and a number.
It's just the name of the album. Singles are what sell the albums. If you have a poor selling single leading the album, chances are, the album is gonna be a poor seller too.
Can't see album titles mattering that much. If anything, being such a naff name probably brings more publicity to the album itself. I just can't see someone thinking "I was interested in buying that album but I don't like the title so I won't".
If we're talking about album artwork then that's definitely something I could see persuading people to buy or not buy.
It's meant to be a fan title, that's the entire point of the name. The idea of "Woman's World" to me feels much worse and just reminds me of Woman's Own, like they're servicing this album to stay at home 40+ mums.
I like LM5 far more than "Woman's World", now there's a name that would have put me off listening to the album, Strip would have been nice though. But for me, the main reason is Woman Like Me being the lead, I wouldn't have minded if they released it earlier in the year, then followed with a second single then released the album off the back of that.
Even MDNA was better than LM5
But yeah, it's just an opinion, I do think some album titles "sell" better than others just by helping people to get the idea behind the album.
Got to admit I don't really get the idea that the title is meant to be for the fans or that the fans are meant to be thrilled that Little Mix "chose" something they came up with when in fact every female popstar's unnamed album gets referred to by their initials and whatever number album it will be.
LM5 up to 5 in the mids
Wonderful to see it on course to remain Top 5 amid a lot of competition from new releases.
It won't go any higher than #5 this week, but it won't fall any lower, either. What are the big releases next week? I think The 1975 is the only one (Clean Bandit's won't do massively well as dance/producer albums never do) so it might climb a place.
