Is she still trying to convince us there'll be an album?

I mean at least she’s giving us a collection of five songs. That’s honestly the right way to go. I’m excited.

Posted by: -Jay- 19th March 2024, 05:47 PM

I know they essentially have to frame a move like this as being a positive, natural, exciting and authentic choice to make… but we’ve been here many times before with other artists, and it’s almost always a move stemming from under-confidence. Well, I hope that Leigh-Anne gets out of this what is needed for her to progress, and I’m hopeful for some good bops!

Posted by: Padamic Tension 19th March 2024, 08:53 PM

I agree, the ep move usually shows there is a lack of confidence in going with an album, and with Leigh-Anne i can understand why based on how things have worked out so far.

Posted by: Slayer 19th March 2024, 09:53 PM

I’d be shocked if the song charts if there is no video or physical CDs.

Apparently the EP is called No Hard Feelings!

Posted by: sammy01 21st March 2024, 09:40 PM

Ouch. We all know the real reason she is releasing an EP is because the record label don't see an album as viable right now.

I'd imagine best case is something from the EP takes off an album is rushed out including it. More than likely the outcome will be with 7 released songs she is more likely to get booked for some festivals than she is with only 2 singles.

From what I have read she has been super defensive of her solo music career on social media, which I think shows more she knows things aren't going as she or the label hoped.

Posted by: Slayer 22nd March 2024, 11:40 AM

I thought they were not going to be releasing around each other ? I mean it was inevitable but I don’t get why they’d say they wouldn’t release near each other in the first place.

The snippet of 'Stealin' Love' keeps playing in my head (along with 'Forget About Us'). It's super catchy!

I'm excited to hear the EP. It's nice we're getting something I guess. More than can be said for certain members of another ex-girl group!

Posted by: caseclosed 22nd March 2024, 05:32 PM

I’ve had the Stealin Love demo on my phone for over 4 months now and it’s by far the song that most suits her out of all 3 she’s released. Her voice’s like silk. I think it’s my favourite as well. A sexy and groovy midtempo bop. I’ve seen people complain about that little noise but I love it too.

I think she's trying to convince herself that it'll still happen.

She looks pretty but it feels pretty blah, I really hope I end up liking this.

It appears she is releasing the song on Thursday 28th March.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock will have her work cut out to make her new single a hit – it seems her record label is not making a video for it.

The former Little Mix star announced this week that she is dropping five new tracks “that fit together in their own world ”. The first, Stealin Love, is expected to land this week. But insiders say Warner Records have not forked out for a shoot to accompany the release – after her singles Don’t Say Love and My Love got only a lukewarm response.

And they claim the singer has already had to put some of her own money into her solo career after failing to get the funds that she wanted approved. One says: “There was so much excitement around Leigh-Anne’s solo career but that seemed to wane after the first two tracks.

“Warner heavily backed Don’t Say Love for her debut but were disappointed with how it charted. The same was true with My Love.” Our source tells us: “There’s no doubt that Leigh-Anne is a huge talent and solo success can take time to build. “But lately she’s struggled to get the financial backing she hoped for – to the extent that she has even contributed herself to the campaign. And now her latest track, Stealin Love, is being released with no video.”

See when people say it doesn't matter where the songs chart or 11 and out of the charts in 6 weeks is a success, it isn't.

The record industry is harsh. Record labels are not charities, if she is already putting her own money in and the label wont pay for a video it is already a mighty uphill battle, the negative press about her flopping wont help either.

Posted by: Lukuzz 24th March 2024, 08:53 PM

Look forward to hearing the new stuff, shame it all seems a bit of a mess and not going well for her as I’ve loved both singles she’s released so far!

An album should have been out after Don't Say Love when she still had the hype of being the first Little Mix member to release.

If you can do an EP with 5 songs why not just add 5 more and call it an album?

Argh

Random 1:16 long choreo video for 'My Love' that she uploaded to her website.

Where was this 7 months ago and what's the point of the video if it is not the full song? However, on a positive note I like what I see despite it being cheap, way better than the SL video.

Idk why they've made it so hard to search for it on Youtube, it has been out for 6hours and only 403 views? Does her team know what they are doing? One minute promoting Forbidden Fruit, now this?

Posted by: Slayer 15th May 2024, 08:15 PM

Rumours this is dropping on 31st May.

Posted by: 1hit1der 15th May 2024, 08:45 PM

So many missed opportunities with Leigh’s solo career thus far it’s actually so frustrating…

Where was this choreo video when they were trying to get a viral dance challenge on TikTok??

And why only do 1/4 of the song and cut the choreo video right before the dance break?? It’s giving we paid per hour for the studio and our time’s up…

A dance version of the MV with all the group dance scenes stitched together would be so much more interesting to watch! And would shine a spotlight on the amazing Nigerian dancers too

Teasing a new song.

Sounds better than the last song but will see what the full thing sounds like.

Posted by: Scene 20th May 2024, 03:50 PM

Still not hitting the mark for me

Posted by: Slayer 22nd May 2024, 05:34 PM

The EP is out next Friday.

The tracklist:

Stealin' Love
Forbidden Fruit
OMG
Anticipate
I'll Still Be Here

Posted by: Slayer 28th May 2024, 05:58 PM

There really is zero noise about this...

Posted by: spiceboy 28th May 2024, 08:48 PM

How many tracks is an EP normally? 5 tracks seems a bit naff tbh why not just add another 5 and make it the full album? Hasn't most of this already been released?

Posted by: Scene 28th May 2024, 09:16 PM

Yeah two nothingy songs doesn't really get me hyped for the other 3.

Posted by: Slayer 29th May 2024, 04:39 PM

I found the podcast so awkward, especially with whoever is with Jessie speaking...especially when it comes to them talking about her heritage.

There was nothing interesting or new from the podcast, so much of it was wasted on useless talk. It was just so boring, I feel like we don't see the 'fun' side of Leigh in these solo interviews.

When asked why an EP and not an album Leigh-Anne said again she was 'not ready' to put out an album.

She says she is still working on the album...

Posted by: caseclosed 30th May 2024, 01:36 PM

Love the three new songs. Don’t know whose idea it was to promote Forbidden Fruit which is by far the worst thing she’s released.

This is so cute and got me emotional!

Posted by: troylovesmusic 31st May 2024, 10:28 AM

The EP is really enjoyable, the only skip and dud for me is Forbidden Fruit .

Posted by: caseclosed 31st May 2024, 11:05 AM

Yeah same here.

Posted by: Slayer 31st May 2024, 11:37 AM

The 'new' songs are better than the two that have been put out, however I feel like they are a bit empty.

I think 'Anticipate' is cute and I enjoy 'I'll Still Be Here'.

Forbidden Fruit is definitely the worst song and not listenable.

Ranking:

I'll Still Be Here
Anticipate
Stealin' Love
OMG
Forbidden Fruit

Posted by: J00prstar 31st May 2024, 12:13 PM

I quite like OMG except for the bits where she says oh my god/gosh which is a bit overdone in 2024.

Posted by: Slayer 2nd June 2024, 12:17 PM

The streams are not good as expected.

‘Stealin' Love’ - 73,679
‘Forbidden Fruit’ - 28,751
‘OMG’ - 142,435
‘Anticipate’ - 31,935
‘I’ll Still Be Here’ - 30,281

Posted by: Dane 3rd June 2024, 05:57 AM

OMG is quite a good song, shame it’s another 2 minute then done job. Stealing Love is still the standout, such a vibe. The rest are either too short or go nowhere. Shame as I feel she should be doing better than she is, My Love is criminally underrated.

Leigh-Anne on her decision to push back her album for 2025:

“I thought I’d release three singles and go straight into dropping it. As the process went on, though, I just felt like I wasn’t ready for the album. I am essentially a new artist who is at the start of building something. I’m still growing, I’m still finding my feet, and I’m still experimenting, all of which is normal for a new project. I definitely feel like it’s there, and I’m excited for it to finally come out. The pressure has been taken off a little bit now, though, and I feel a lot more comfortable about it.”

Leigh-Anne when asked if she sees herself headlining arenas and festivals in the future:

“I mean, I’m always going to aim for the top. I do want to be an international star. That has always been the goal, after all, but I’m not putting any pressure on myself. I don’t need to. I keep asking myself what success means to me, and it’s changed from what it was when I was in Little Mix. We achieved a lot, but for me, my number one goal now is to be happy. I’ve already had a phenomenal first year. I’m just going to keep working hard and putting good shit out. I honestly spent too long trying to prove my talent and prove myself to other people. I’m tired of it. Now, I just want to do me because that’s enough.”

Leigh-Anne reveals Little Mix discussed staying together during the Confetti Tour

“The three of us have this genuine sisterhood, and no one else will ever get it. In fact, that last tour was so beautiful that there were times when we asked if we should just carry on as Little Mix because it felt so good. I don’t think it would have worked at that point in our lives, though. I miss them so much. When you’ve worked so hard for something, and you finally get it, the idea of starting again is daunting, but I’ve been having so much fun. We’ve all said it, but it’s actually quite nice to have something of your own. We are 100% going to do a reunion; how can we not? But for this moment in time, we all need our own individual moments.”

Leigh-Anne is performing at Rock In Rio!

An amazing booking for her!

Posted by: Slayer 10th June 2024, 07:43 PM

The effort she's put into her solo career is really admirable, hope tomorrow goes well for her.

The show looked amazing last night.

Posted by: Yousee 12th June 2024, 01:52 PM

The clips I've seen seem like fun. She looked so happy and fit!

Posted by: Slayer 14th June 2024, 08:02 PM

OMG music video released.

Love that it is in colour and the choreo, just hate all the behind the scenes and filler footage? It looks cheap but it is slightly better than the other videos.

Only 29k views so far..

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 14th June 2024, 09:21 PM

'OMG' is the one that I think if any of them were going to catch on, it'd be that one. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the one to be viral on Tik Tok (it won't, but I wouldn't be surprised)

'Nature'... it's good but it doesn't even sound like her?

Posted by: J00prstar 14th June 2024, 11:13 PM

All she needed to do for OMG was a choreo video like Tinashe might do.

I really want to root for her but she keeps fumbling :/

It's a good song though, maybe some clip from the video will take off

Posted by: Yousee 15th June 2024, 11:23 AM

Seems she single-handedly wrote Nature, at least according to Spotify.

Posted by: 1hit1der 18th June 2024, 01:30 PM

Not sure why Leigh's team couldn't get her a Summertime Ball slot? Would have been the perfect opportunity to perform new songs and promote the EP

--

I'd love her to lean more into reggae-pop/dancehall which is where she can really carve out space for herself. Her pen game's strong on 'Nature' but I don't find the instrumental that exciting!

^ Her entire Lisboa setlist. She danced to Sweet Melody, Confetti and No More Sad Songs.

Posted by: Sacred3 1st July 2024, 10:55 PM

She started off so strong, because I loved her first few singles. I'm disappointed by the EP where only 1-2 songs really stood out for me. Hopefully she comes back stronger, but I am really missing Little Mix.

Posted by: J00prstar 2nd July 2024, 04:47 AM

Nature and OMG are both way better than any of the 'Love' songs!

Posted by: Slayer 4th July 2024, 04:56 PM

Posted by: Sacred3 5th July 2024, 09:48 AM

Nature is the stand out by far. Followed by stealin love!

I hope Jade can out do everyone .
