BuzzJack Music Forum _ Little Mix _ Jade Thirlwall - TBA • 1st Album

Posted by: Slayer 9th March 2022, 11:38 PM

JADE THIRLWALL is on the brink of signing a major solo record deal with RCA.

It’s the same label that helped guide Little Mix back to the top of the charts after their split from Simon Cowell's Syco.

I’ve learned there have been talks about her working on music with Lizzo, who she now shares a manager with.

A music source said: “Jade has had talks with several different labels but she knows the team at RCA personally and is confident they understand what she wants for the next phase of her career.

“She is in advanced negotiations and now it’s just a case of crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s. They have already got to work on figuring out what her moves will be as a solo artist.

“She is very clear about what she wants and is eager to find a really unique sound. Jade has a load of tracks which she has recorded on her own but she won’t put anything out which she isn’t comple- tely happy with.

“She shares a manager with Lizzo and there have been talks about trying to get them in the studio together because they are both great songwriters with a similar viewpoint. They could make something really empowering together.”

Little Mix signed with RCA after leaving Simon’s label Syco in 2018, days before the release of their fifth album LM5.

Please not RCA, Jade sis.

Please not RCA, Jade sis.

Is/was RCA really the problem? Or was it just a case of the natural decline that happens with most pop groups? There are other successful acts signed with RCA, who still continue to top charts.
Or perhaps RCA isn't good with girl groups, but might be different with solo acts?
If it's true, she must have her reasons. We're outsiders at the end of the day, and so can't know as much as Jade does - having been with RCA since end of 2018.

Posted by: Cameron 10th March 2022, 06:31 PM

Was RCA not the label Tinashe was with who completely forced her whole second era until she was in tears?

Posted by: *Tim 10th March 2022, 06:36 PM

RCA is not known for their great handling of artists. Or even building new artists careers

Posted by: Ho-Lee Smokes 10th March 2022, 06:38 PM

rca are the worst for playlisting too

Posted by: Mr. C. Joel 10th March 2022, 06:44 PM

RCA are useless!

We know this from how they’ve handled pretty much every campaign.

Confetti was ok but even so there was so much more they could of done.

Posted by: Cody Madrigal 10th March 2022, 06:56 PM

Legit have you send what they did with Miley’s last few eras? RCA does next to nothing in terms of promo

Posted by: Slayer 10th March 2022, 07:00 PM

The artists with the same management as Jade: Harry Styles, Lizzo, HAIM, Charli XCX, Ava Max, Maroon 5, John Mayer, Gwen Stefani.

Posted by: Muzkik85 11th March 2022, 06:01 AM

^ real mixed bag as far as current success.

Ultimately jt comes down to the artist. I feel like Jade will do okay qs she's the most at the front of things and so entertaining. Ultimately I think Leigh is going to surprise people and be most successful.

The artists with the same management as Jade: Harry Styles (good), Lizzo (mess), HAIM (ok), Charli XCX (ok), Ava Max (mess), Maroon 5 (US pop radio will always play his/their songs but mess otherwise), John Mayer (ok), Gwen Stefani (mess).

Confirmed by Billboard that she has signed with RCA.

She is the best, I am perched!

Posted by: jsweetxe 13th March 2022, 02:18 PM

I think for RCA it depends who they're trying to promote - Jade has a bulldog management company behind her, which obviously plays a lot in the success of an artist, it isn't just the label. I think she'll do fine with RCA - considering Jade is probably aware of how pitiful their promo strategy is she probably insisted she gets a solid rollout for whatever she does

Ugh. Why do I have a feeling that because shes the one I'm anticipating the most, she's gonna release last? laugh.gif

Posted by: Frenchie 28th April 2023, 05:12 PM

Jade is the one I’m most confident about that is gonna deliver the bops! Im hoping for a summer release from Leigh and autumn for Jade.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 10th June 2023, 11:31 AM

I think Jade will be moderately successful with her solo singles (not many "Top 5 smash!!!!" type singles), but will be a big success when it comes to touring and will have a solid/the most loyal fanbase to get consistent selling albums. I'm thinking of a slightly more successful Charli/Carly/Robyn/Rina/Tove kinda solo career. I do think her fanbase will get her decent running top 20/40 hits though.

I don't think singles success will matter as much to her/her label as it will Leigh or Perrie (or even Jesy tbh)

Maybe I'm wrong and it will matter or that she will have the biggest career of all 4 of them (wishful thinking, coz she is my bias of the group tongue.gif), but I just think her "success" is going to be different to Perrie or Leigh's definitions of "success"...

(Does this make sense? laugh.gif - basically I'm less worried about her "flopping" because I don't think it's going to really apply to her)

EDIT: Perrie has the biggest fanbase, Leigh has the most passionate but Jade has the most loyal, I think.

'2 die 4' by Addison Rae (feat. Charli XCX) is kinda what I expect Jade to come out with. In fact, I can envision her on that track so PERFECTLY.

Lostboy of course being the producer behind 'Padam Padam'!

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 30th August 2023, 06:24 PM

Oh he's actually pretty decent as he's also responsible for:

- 'The Motto' (Tiësto & Ava Max)
- '10:35' (Tiësto & Tate McRae)
- 'Dancing's Done' (Ava Max)
- 'Diamonds & Dancefloors' (Ava Max) [Song]

and the aforementioned 'Padam Padam' by Kylie.

They're 2 of the top 5 songs on Ava's new album ('Dancing's Done' is my absolute favourite!) and 'Padam Padam' is the first Kylie single in a few years I have LOVED. I can't see this tracks with Jade disappointing, ngl! Very smart move for her. Especially because she clearly knows where majority of her audience lies... laugh.gif

I’m desperate for music from Jade, I have no doubt we’ll love it!

Posted by: Perriechu 31st August 2023, 11:03 PM

Lostboy is also responsible for their own Gloves Up btw.

He also co-wrote Miracle (Ellie & Calvin) and given the rumours that Jade is working with Calvin on his trance project, this could also be for that.

I can’t believe that the year is about to end and we haven’t had anything from Jade yet … I mean, I understand that all the girls need a rest and some time to get inspired but not even a collaboration? It’s quite weird. Something that I really liked about when Spice Girls went solo was that they started with collabs to taste the water and keep on the public eye, being honest I was expecting the same from Jade and Perrie. I’ve almost lost interest on them ☹️ 2 years working on solo music and if they underperform with the first two singles probably they won’t be able to release all the material.

Yes, definitely not a "Sheffield indie rock band"! That Lostboy looks to have last been active in 2014 laugh.gif

I think I saw on another forum that she was ready but then scrapped it as she didn’t think it was good enough.

Posted by: Voodoo 15th November 2023, 12:31 PM

Maybe Sony got cold feet after both Jesy & Leigh Ann had underperformed with their solo material.

Posted by: Perriechu 16th November 2023, 04:23 PM

Insiders have said a few things in relation to Jade (and Perrie)

Jade's album is apparently done, with the campaign starting around Q1 with a Q3 release - she had music all set ready to go at some point, but she didn't like it and it was scrapped.

Perrie's album is almost done, similar release pattern to Jade's.

I honestly do not think the label cares that Leigh/Jesy underperformed for several reasons;

1) - Jesy had a LOT working against her, due to her own shenanigans
2) - Leigh also has a lot working against her, due to things outside of her control - she has released two very good singles, it's just unfortunate that Leigh is the least popular from Little Mix.
3) - Labels will surely understand that creating these 4 separate pop careers is going to require patience, all 4 of them are probably part-funding it too (confirmed that Leigh, Jesy and Perrie at least are)
4) - Those labels are not the labels of Perrie and Jade. Those two were also the most popular within LM, so I think it'll be a diff outcome.
