THOSE STARTERS THOOO
Those starters are already 100x better than the Galar ones!
Oh wow didn’t realise they had another game coming up, any idea on release date?
We are so spoilt *.* I'd imagine it's a November release.
This looks like a cross between Sword/Sheild (possible Italy or Spain vibes with this one) and Legends Arceus. HYPE
Judging by the in-game map in the trailer the region looks to be inspired by the Iberian peninsula (Spain and Portugal)?
Love the starters, particularly the water as usual. Can't wait for this!
The starters are really cute, best in ages. The game looks exciting but dear god I hope there will be a massive quality upgrade to the graphics before release (but not holding much hope seeing how they consistently manage to bring PS2 graphics to their games like they did in PLA and SWSH).
Scarlet is a cool title but Violet sounds a tad more "basic"... Maybe they just want to rhyme.
DILF PROFESSOR
LECHONK
COOP PLAY!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry but these graphics look horrendous. Looks like it belongs on a N64 rather than the switch based on the graphics. Not all that surprising given that the graphics were certainly made to take the backseat for both SwSh and Legends Arceus.
okay I’m more convinced to get the grass starter if only to have Talonflame on my team
There wasn’t much to see, but everything looked great in my mind. Excited! Pre-Orders are up today!
Not them naming the pig Pokémon LECHONK I am obsessed already.
I’ve also been doing a bit more play in Sword/Shield.
Honestly SWSH was a big step up from Sun/Moon which I absolutely hated. Less hand holding.
I think where SWSH lost me was the story was so boring, lots of key mashing to move things along.
The biggest success for me was the Wild Area and Raids - however this took so much away from the main line game. I found myself just running around the wild areas doing raids and all in all that would usually take about 40 minutes which is enough for me in one sitting.
With Pokémon Home and the ability to move Pokémon around, I don’t think Scarlet/Violet need a full wild area. Just beef up the game a bit more, make the story interesting and I think we will all be happy.
Water starter for me, Fletchinder and LECHONK. My pre first gym team has already been set.
Sprigatito (grass starter) just looks unappealing, even after seeing it a few months ago...
I'm also not surprised at Pawmi. It's not a new gen without a new Pikachu variant.
SwSh's big problem is that they tried to make it story heavy but there really was no story. It wasn't hand-holdy necessarily, but they never seemed to let you get on with it, you had to mash buttons and sit through dialogue. Part of me just wants them to go "here's the gyms, do them" and let you do what you want within that.
The big thing that seems to have been fairly over looked is Nintendo have confirmed this is properly open world which is pretty huge! It seems too good to be true but I'm thinking that means it will have more replay value and just overall be more fun to play a a whole, not just certain bits. With SwSh, I bought both and played Shield first, but then when I did Sword, it felt like a chore to play through it again, even when I tried it as a Nuzlocke to spice things up a bit more.
HOUNDOOM IN THE TRAILER WE WON
+ the full Pokémon Presents with some more info
• seems to be more of an open ended experience and you can challenge the gyms in any order?
• Paldean Wooper *.* Fidough
• interesting new gimmick it’s basically dynamax but smaller + balloon Pikachu is back!
Excite! Even tho it was mostly cut scene footage and not a lot of gameplay.
I wish they would have just kept Mega Evolutions as the standard. Make us hunt for their Mega Stones, adds so many more layers to the game.
The Pseudo-Legendaries (I’m assuming) look a bit too sleek, the new Biking is a bit much
i kinda like that we're getting the new legendaries pretty early on actually, and they just function similarly to the flute Pokemon in Legends Arceus that was always one of my favorite parts of the game
Not sure the best place to put this, but I'm restarting my Polemon card collection! I've got 1-150 base set/fossil/jungle complete collections which goes for about Ł2000(!) so I'm now on Gen 2 and ready to splurge again.
(If anyone has any cards they are looking to sell, dm me!)
((Super excited for a new generation too ofc!))
We got a TM crafter! Also Girafarig gets an evolution!
Picnics and sandwiches replace Pokémon Camp and curry respectively, kinda basic but we get to make our own tapas which is great
Overworld Battles - AMAZING! No more cut scenes everytime you interact with a Pokémon.
Tera Type, colour me intrigued! Let’s Go Command, I love this!
Team Star, yaas. Way better than whatever we got last game (Team Yell?)
TM Crafting, yes please. This will be a delight with the Tera Types. Can’t wait to make my Pokémon a sandwich (?).
Raid Battles…. I wasn’t impressed with this in Sword/Shield. Took way too long, and everyone’s Pokémon if you weren’t playing online we’re so useless.
Good trailer, but I need them to release more details on the games (Pokémon Variations between games) so I can actually decide WHICH game I want.
Farigirafarigirafarig is another amusing design.
It all looks good so far, I'm just unsure about the 3 "paths" storyline, part of me feels like it's going to be 3 under-baked parts rather than a fully great experience of a game. They seem to be taking bits of Legends Arceus and SwSh and hoping they work, and some of it looks good (the actual overworld exploration being Arceus inspired) and some of it doesn't excite me much (the Raid Battles again and the Sandwich/picnic stuff which just seems meh). They've not really shown that much which is fine but my cynical side is like "what are they hiding", there's really great stuff in the leaks we've had that they haven't even touched upon but maybe they want to leave stuff for when the game comes out which is cool.
I loooove the Girafarig evo, hopefully it's good in competitive as I like the design and concept and would love to use it. Both abilities it has are very cool.
The Raid Battles just don't feel right, like it was a cool idea with the Dynamax Pokemon, it felt more epic that you were fighting a giant Pokemon, particularly when you did online co-op, the less said about the CPU NPCs the better. This is just "let's beat up a Chansey with a silly hat on".
The actual idea of the Tera Types is interesting, I like that the gym leaders are using it too it seems with the grass gym being shown using it already. It will definitely be interesting in competitive, depending on how the mechanics work fully.
I think even though my doubts for Legends Arceus were disproven by the game being really fresh and exciting, I always expect Pokemon to not live up to expectations. It's always a weird feeling leading up to Pokemon games where I'm unbelievably excited but partly ready to be let down
The Girafarig evolution looks insane, I love it! Hype continues growing for this gen <3
I watched that and it STILL isn't enticing me to want to buy it ugh
My interest is definitely peaked this gen, especially compared to SwSh with all the leaks we had, and it ending up to be quite a half baked game.
A lot has been kept under wraps this gen, we really only have insight to the mechanics of the game, but very little on everything else. We don’t even have the starters evolutions with 17 days to go.
For me, I’m just waiting on game Pokémon variants before making a decision. But I can’t wait to play.
WARNING: it is recommended to play this video on Mute.
Final trailer for Scarlet and Violet!
We have the leaks, so all the new Pokémon are out there!! It’s made my starter choice firmly Sprigattito!
I’m leaning towards the fire starter now. Some cool looking designs so far that’ll be interesting to see how they look in game.
You know what this Gen is for the gays bc some of these queens are SERVING
lol I'm probably going for Sprigatito just bc I'll already have a Fire type in Houndoom
from the trailer I see that Donphan gets two new forms, so I'm wondering if that's the case for others?
There’s so many weird changes that are kinda huge, competitive this gen is about to be interesting but I’m cautiously optimistic it will be more open. Either that or it will be dominated by a few broken gen 9 mons.
Pretty much all stats etc have leaked now and they’ve done my new fave so dirty already 😭
Happy Scarlet/Violet Eve to everyone - I think ever since Nintendo started releasing the games Digitally all at once, I've stayed up almost every release day and played for a few hours. I'm lucky I don't need to stay up too late - 10PM release for me tomorrow night!
I've been watching some light playing on Twitch and I've taken a look at the list of Returning Pokemon and starting to think about my team. I was surprised NOT to see the Togepi line return this game, but of course we get Charmander.
Leaning towards a Salazzle, Elektross, Lucario, Garchomp, Luxray, Azumarill team, but I've played with all of these Pokemon various times - I may do an entire team of New Pokemon which I haven't paid too much attention to at this point.
This kinda runs ROUGH, I haven’t had any major issues but there’s a lot of little pop in errors, weirdly animated NPCs etc… It’s worst when you’re running or on Miraidon and an NPC is moving Fun so far but that is a glaring issue, even if it’s not like a huge game breaking thing, it happens in lots of little waves and it is bothering me a tad.
And that’s both in docked and handheld, I’d say it’s abetter and less frequent in handheld mode though.
Oh dear yes... it's a bit, chunky at times. NPCs walking in the background look pretty awful. I've had a few glitchy moments, probably the worst that I've seen in a mainline Pokemon game, but yes.. nothing MAJOR for sure.
I played for about 2 1/2 Hours last night, and another hour this morning. In that first 2 1/2 Hours I only made it to the Town, I didn't even go into the School by this point. Tons of exploration, tons of Pokemon to catch (and I'm catching them all as I see them). In a lot of the Twitch plays I watched pre-release, many avoided Pokemon and Trainers.. I definitely do not do this
Really, I've only completed the School and a few Raid Dens and randomly walking around exploring, which I love.
My team currently (I guess we can call this Pre-First Gym?):
Greavard (Chompers) - Tera Type: Psychic - Level 13
Flamigo (Twinksly) - Tera Type: Flying - Level 13
Azurill (Bouncey Ball) - Tera Type: Normal - Level 15
Shroodle (Toxic Maus)- Tera Type: Normal - Level 16
Pawmi (Sparky Bear) - Tera Type: Electric - Level 16
Quaxwell (Cuddly Nuggs) - Tera Type: Water - Level 17
I do like the 'Lets Go' auto-battle function, however I find if it's a hoard of Pokemon, it does the job. Individual groupings of Pokémon however, my Pokemon just seems to attack the first one and sit there for the rest.
Edit: just finished the first Gym, I'm not sure if these need to be done in order exactly, but took on the first Gym and had no issues at all. One hit KOs, I took zero damage. Flamigo is a beast!
My team after the first Gym:
NEW: Azurill (Bouncey Ball) - Tera Type: Ground - Level 13
Flamigo (Twinksly) - Tera Type: Flying - Level 18
Pawmo (Sparky Bear) - Tera Type: Electric - Level 18
Shroodle (Toxic Maus)- Tera Type: Normal - Level 19
Greavard (Chompers) - Tera Type: Psychic - Level 20
Quaxwell (Cuddly Nuggs) - Tera Type: Water - Level 20
My copy has arrived but I have a busy weekend so probably won't be playing it until Sunday evening ugh. I just couldn't not order it and went with Violet
So I've just made it to the first poke centre so very early on - but I'm stunned that I already have 24 unique Pokemon lol. And I missed one because I knocked out the Deerling I found and now I can't see anymore
Really enjoying it so far for the most part, and the "Let's Go" auto battling is a game changer I think. But my goodness it does play rough doesn't it. How could they have released it with all these graphical glitches even after the day 1 patch? The most annoying one for me is the HP bar is so stuttery when you've done so damage.
I went for Fuecoco as my starter, but will be breeding some baby Fuecoco eggs as soon as I'm able if anyone wants to trade!
I’m at 48 and really for me it was just the route to the School and the route to the first Bug Gym.
I can’t seem to see how long my playtime is, anyone know where to find this? I’m still getting a hang of all the controls.
How do Eggs work in this generation, I thought I read something about it being tied to the Picnics?
Just had my first Picnic too THE GRAPHICS OMGGG
But yes, absolutely once I get that figured out I’d love to do a trade once I figure out the eggs, and finding a Ditto I guess.
I've been out all day and only got back. No one was in to sign for my parcel so they've dropped it off at the nearest Matalan which is closed now so I won't be able to start the game today
Super excited to get started though!
https://www.nintendolife.com/guides/pokemon-scarlet-and-violet-how-to-breed-pokemon
Pretty much set up a picnic with a Male/Female on your team (or one and ditto) and check the basket for an egg.
I hope nurse joy got a good severance package
I’ve done the 4th gym so far and my team is:
Floragato (Trixie)
Tinkatuff (Amy)
Primape (PressT)
Scovillain (Chili)
Farigarif (Aziza)
Kilowattrel (Sgt Byrd)
Also have Naclstac (Salt Cure is great, it was such an MVP) and Pawmo in the back, the latter was being annoying evolving and I had physical attackers I wanted to use more so I needed a special electric type and Kilowattrel replaced him. Don’t usually like doubling types but I love the fact we finally have a Fire/Grass and there isn’t a better Fire type I want to use rn so Scovillain is cool for now.
I just got my 4th badge as well; I hardly noticed I was completing the “Gym” which just seems to be completing tasks now?
They really didn’t want to give us anything indoors this generation
I’m just outside of Porto Marinada now, I am taking my sweet ass time with this game. I’m at 13H 30M, 78 Pokémon Caught here’s my current team:
Houndstone (Chompers) - Tera Type: Psychic - Level 31
Naclstack (Clip Clop) - Tera Type: Rock - Level 33
Flamigo (Twinksly) - Tera Type: Fighting - Level 33
Azumarill (Bouncey Ball) - Tera Type: Ground - Level 34
Quaxwell (Cuddly Nuggs) - Tera Type: Water - Level 35
This game is definitely way more challenging than SwSh, the story is also way better, but they could lean more into the school aspect. I also found SwSh was very “gifty” where although I’m getting good items - nothing as good as what was just given to you last gen. I’m also broke AF.
I’ve done loads today, now only one each of the gyms, bases and Titans left!! Ended up adding Palafin to my team so I have a water type, the Hero form is a beast but I had to get my friend to join co-op for it to evolve, they’ve got some really silly methods in this game
I agree about the story and difficulty too, I’m finding the gyms super easy but there was one Nemona battle where she ran me close which I didn’t expect and a couple of the Star bases have been challenging due to their Revravoom bosses. I like that this story is just basically you being a kid, having a fun adventure, it is amusing that on your second day of school you just sod off to have an adventure though I haven’t gone back and done any classes although it keeps flashing up that new ones are available.
The characters are stronger too I feel, all the gym leaders feel like distinct fleshed out people and I’m actually invested in Nemona and Arven as rivals/friends, they feel believable and more fleshed out than say Hau or Hop. I quite like the gym tasks as an idea but a lot of them are either just forgettable/pointless or kind of annoying at best.
When the game is this fun, I don’t care about any of the graphical blips, particularly when it’s nothing game breaking. Although picnic breeding is kind of infuriating, the egg powers help (I’ll have to get higher level ones) but I despise the fact you have to just stand there waiting whereas before with the daycare you could go and do something else in the game while waiting, which was especially great with the Wild Area in SwSh. They’ve got the base foundations down and made a game that’s more fun than Pokémon has been in absolutely YEARS which I’m thrilled with. A lot of stuff that was kind of off in SwSh (bland characters, long tedious raids, lack of story) they’ve really improved on, the Raids are much more fun being faster paced.
Level scaling is the main issue for me, I think it would be cool if you really could do the game in any order and it all scaled accordingly. I worry there won’t be much replay value as there’s a lot of doing the tasks and kind of pushing you through the story, which is great when getting to know gym leaders and has fleshed out the world a lot more, but when I do my Scarlet play through as a Nuzlocke (I usually do on my second version), I feel like that might be tedious when it’s something you’ve just gone through. With level scaling you could get essentially a different game each time as teams would be slightly different etc, but the base idea of these different paths and variety of gameplay is something they’ve really nailed.
I'm a little behind but i've been playing for 2 hours and not even made it to the school! there's just so much to explore. Minor bugs aside, I'm really enjoying this
I've caught a lot but staying in my party is Sprigatito, Fletchling, Wiglett and Happiny
I have come to the realization that 'Badges' under the Trainer Card have nothing to do with the Gyms (there are Titan and Gym badges, obviously). I am at 9 now. I think the most frustrating part for me right now is I do have 9 'Badges', my Pokemon are level 45-55 and I have no access to Ultra Balls. So frustrating in these caves with all these awesome Pokemon and it takes me about 30 minutes to catch one (omg the amount of REST I have seen this game). I need to find some Quick Balls STAT.
Although I get the impression you pretty much choose your own path on where to go in the game, I've clearly made a wrong turn very early in the game and moved into places I shouldn't have been. For the most part I wasn't under levelled but there definitely were a few areas I struggled with. It was odd having the Gym Leaders referencing themselves being 2nd or 3rd or 4th Gyms when that wasn't the order I completed them in.
I'm usually pretty self sufficient, I like finding my way around - but making my way to Alfornada was the most frustrating experience I've had with a Pokemon Game I'm finding it difficult to read the maps, what is Grass, Path, Ledge, Mountain ect. I still don't have Climb. I attempted first to go the Cabo Poco route via the Water and up through the cave, but I couldn't figure that out. I tried the West Province (Area One) (which was technically correct) but I tried to go via the Cave which wasn't the right route. HOW WAS I EVER SUPPOSED TO KNOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO FLY DOWN AND GO BACK UP. This however was a good frustration - it's a layer of difficulty that has been missing in a lot of the Pokemon Games recently.
I did take a break from the mainline game, I had a friend start on Saturday so we spent a lot of time doing Raids together, trading Pokemon around.
On a quick glance of my Map, I still have: Titan Badge (including Casseroya Lake), the Star Badge (including North Province Area Three), Gym Badge Ghost (including the Mountain), Medali Gym (Including West Province Area Three), Star Badge Fighting (North Province Area One and Two), East Province Area Three (Including Zapapico and the Steel Titan Badge), Levincia. So wow, yeah, I still have a lot left to do.
My team right now:
Quaquaval (Cuddly Nuggs) Tera Type: Water - Level 46
Pawmot (Sparky Bear) Tera Type: Electric - Level 48
Gimmsnarl (Hairy Boi) Tera Type: Steel - Level 49
Garganacl (Clip Clop) Tera Type: Ghost - Level 50
Flamigo (Twinkly) Tera Type: Fighting - Level 50
Azumarril (Bouncy Ball) Tera Type: Ground - Level 53
I’m in need of a Fire Type badly, I’m thinking of ditching Pawmot for Salazzle because I have a ton of great Fire and Poison TMs.
But yeah, wow. Blown away by this game. I never thought we would ever get a Pokemon game this, so complex and open but not too much of a deviation away from the true essence of Pokemon. I'm so used to completing the game in its entierty usually in the first 2-3 days of its release.
I couldn't even imagine what a DLC would look like for this game. It would be absolutely massive.
I totally agree about the map! Sometimes I’ve kind of just cheesed and managed to jump somewhere or glide down towards where I need to be But that’s part of the fun so it’s not totally a negative, I agree that it’s actually a fun kind of frustration having to actually figure things out, Pokemon has held our hands far too much since almost forever so this is actually refreshing. I used a guide for the order of stuff since I didn’t want to be overleveled for anything, I put a soft level cap on myself which has helped me enjoy the challenge, along with the game being a bit tougher anyway by design.
It probably doesn’t help that every time I visit a new area or route, I walk and turn off Koraidon. I don’t want to miss anything, a lot of really good items hidden around.
I just got Climb so just rushed to complete the task to get Ceruledge and somewhat finalize my team for now.
Now I’m stuck between completing the mainline story OR jumping all around collecting all the items I can and different Pokémon. I think I’m going to do the latter.
Plus. All the raids. Such a great dilemma to have.
I’ve now got the other 2 starters from my friend *.* Kinda wanna grind them up for my Champion team but I like what I have.
Also I would DIE for Maushold, I think it’s my gen 9 fave
Maushold freaks me out!
I got my first shiny of this Generation last night - Mudbray! I’ve used Mudbray/Mudsdale a lot in the past, I think even in my last SwSh playthru. Great Pokémon!
Here’s my team at the moment:
Ceruledge (White Heat) - Tera Type: Fire - Level 62
Mudsdale (Chestnut) *SHINY* - Tera Type: Ground - Level 62
Garganacl (Clip Clop) - Tera Type: Ghost - Level 64
Flamigo (Twinksly) - Tera Tye: Fighting - Level 64
Azumarill (Bouncy Ball) - Tera Type: Ground - Level 62
Fligibax Egg
Tinkaton is my true fave, she’s been my MVP since about the 4th gym now and slain the whole time, finished the main story now!! She’s absolutely c**t and I stan it, I think she’s in probably my top 5 ever now. The lower than expected base Attack worried me when everything leaked, but the typing is killer and she’s come in clutch a lot. Competitive wise she’s a great special tank and stallbreaker with Tera Blast Electric for the likes of Toxapex and her sworn nemesis Corviknight Given her Pokédex entry there’s something satisfying about finishing a Corviknight who’d otherwise wall her without an Electric or Fire Tera.
Final team was Tinkaton, Maushold, Farigiraf and the three starters. Fairly tough endgame and I think now I’ve finished, I’d say overall this is the best and most engaging story Pokémon has ever done, and that’s mainly down to the strength of characters and the relationships between them and you, it actually feels like the interactions and adventures meant something, except I have zero time for Penny, annoying af . Even when things were obviously headed a certain way, it felt satisfying to reach them, and I genuinely enjoyed all of the three paths in different ways.
Haven’t done any raid dens since I literally started playing last night but I love the open feel of the story, it’s one of the reasons I got lost in playing Legends Arceus which I appreciate my tentative team so far (will probably be rotational NCT U style like before):
Houndour (Starfire)
Fletchling (Jason Todd)
Sprigatito (Oliver Queen)
Mareep (Black Lightning)
Ralts (Jimmy Olsen)
Vivillon (Nightwing)
went with a DC Comics/Arrowverse theme to follow up with Marvel/MCU on Legends Arceus
I'm getting Pokémon Violet for Christmas but I was reading today that The Pokémon Co. And Nintendo have announced a new record for sales.
4.5 million in Japan in 3 days which is the highest opening ever for a game in Japan and over 10 million worldwide which again is a record for an exclusive game on console.
I'm excited to see what the hype is about.
What makes this all the more amazing is that three Launch record have been broken in Japan by Nintendo since 2020 with Animal Crossing, then Splatoon 3 6 weeks ago and now Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
I'm really enjoying this so much more than I thought I was going to!
I've completed all the gym challenges and the titans storyline, so just have the fighting crew left to do before attempting the Elite 4.
Current team is:
Meowscarada
Donphan
Dragonite
Talonflame
Tinkaton
Hawlucha
Currently working my way through raid dens to help get some last minute experience.
I agree, this completely surpassed any expectations I had coming into the game.
I would probably say my favourite generations would be 1 (Red/Blue) 2 (Gold/Silver) and 5 (Black/White) but I can see Scarlet/Violet easily in the Top 4-5 for me.
Not that it's a perfect game by any means... the Graphics, other issues, it comes across as a bit half-baked and rushed, but nothing nearly as bad as SwSh was.
So many different ways to play, it's so vast and definitely challenging.
Best storytelling in MANY generations. I loved almost all the characters. I wasn't too sold on Arven initially, but he won me over with the sweet Mabosstiff storyline. He lost me for a bit with bridging in his Mother (I thought he would be done at this point) but tying this storyline into Area Zero and the end game was so good.
I also had a soft spot for Penny and her eventual storyline as well - she was the only character that really took me back to the School element, which I think was a bit half-baked as well.
I had a bit of pressure to finish the game, so I did rush probably the last 15-20% of Gameplay for myself - but I FULLY intend on buying another copy and doing another play thru. With that being said, here was my team Post-Credits:
Baxcalibur (Black Ice) - Level 80
Garganacl (Clip Clop) - Level 81
Mudsdale (Chestnut) *SHINY* - Level 81
Flamigo (Twinksly) - Level 86
Azumarill (Bouncy Ball) - Level 84
Ceruledge (White Heat) - Level 89
I don't recall having any issues with the E4 at all. I'm just working thru a bit of Post-Game right now (Gym Rebattles, Academy Ace Tournament).
I'm a bit sad that it's over now - it really did take me almost a full week to do everything I wanted to do and beat the game. But good level of replayability for sure.
I really feel THIS is the direction they need to continue down. Open play, great character development, less linear gameplay than just beating 8 Gyms. Honestly, the bar was set so low with Sword/Shield (and even BDSP) but Pokemon Arceus and Scarlet/Violet were a huge step up in the right direction. Ideally, more investment in this direction - I'd like to see maybe....
November 2023 - DLC for Scarlet/Violet
Spring 2024 - Pokemon Arceus 2 (or a game very similar)
November 2025 - Another Remake (hopefully Black/White?)
November 2026 - Generation 10
Yeah, 4 years between Gen 9 and Gen 10 sounds like a long time, but I'm sure they have enough to keep us busy. I guess what I'm trying to say, is don't make Generation 10 half-baked. Take your time, but give us a few things between now and then. We can wait.
Hitting up the Elite Four tomorrow and currently rocking this as a team
Tinkaton (this thing hits like a truck oh lordt)
Annihilape
Killowattrel
Quaquaval
Cyclizar
Espathra
havé spent HOURS trying to find an aqua breed tauros and it just isn’t happening for me lol.
my current party:
floragato
kirlia
kilowattrel
naclstack
charcadet
finizen
probably gonna swap kirlia and finizen out for tinkaton and tauros when i find them
I've now gotten way past the halfway point in all three main storylines and I literally can't stop exploring despite the graphics issues (like why am I locking on to a pokemon that's hidden behind a damn wall???) the game is so much fun!
Current party going into the 6th gym:
- Meowscarada (Oliver Queen)
- Houndoom (Starfire)
- Jolteon (Barry Allen)
- Gallade (Jimmy Olsen)
- Lycanroc Dusk (Kara Danvers)
- Floatzel (Aqualad)
gonna be some switching around but I think I'm definitely keeping Lycanroc and Gallade/Floatzel might be switched, I need a Flying type and another Gen 9 Pokemon lol
Got violet for Christmas Im ready to lose myself in this game
I got violet and it's been a blast. My favourite Pokémon games so far I think.
I am properly into this (and need to add all of your friend codes in time!)...but it feels like such a comedown from the insane high of Legends: Arceus which was just *THE* perfect Pokemon game. So I keep comparing to that and finding it a bit underwhelming.
Regardless, I can't wait to finish the storyline and start training for competitive battling/trading etc!
So no Kalos then?
I'm still buying it
Apparent release dates:
Part 1: December 31st, 2023
Part 2: April 30th, 2024
HOPEFULLY they move up Part 1 to at least October or November.
December 31st will be a placeholder date I think, whenever there isn’t a date set but there is a year, I think the eShop automatically puts it as 31st December!
Hype anyway, although I was disappointed the Pokémon Presents didn’t have anything about Home compatibility as I’m dying to use the Hisuian mobs in competitive D:
I thought it did mention Home (when discussing Gimmighoul) or was that just for Pokémon Go?
Kinda thinking we might get something on Home compatibility once we’re closer to Teal Mask release date, especially given the amount of SwSh/Legends Arceus Pokemon that could emerge from it
(lemme be able to transfer Vikavolt and Alolan Ninetales on to SV plz)
Vikavolt is going to be available in the first DLC release
Ł31 for the DLC wtf. I'm sure Sword & Shield's expansion wasn't that much was it?? We'd better be getting a lot for that price
Home Compatibility with Scarlet/Violet will start May 24th!
Finally! I can move my shiny and restart a new game!
SO EXCITED FOR THIS!
This company is such a joke ffs
It’s finally here, we have connectivity to Pokémon Home!
I transferred my Mudsdale already, and likely a few more this week before restarting my journey again.
Still waiting for mine to roll out, just now it was on but then I had to update Scarlet and Violet, then when I did that, it’s now back on maintenance
Tbh not fussed on playing through again I just want to use the Hisuian forms online D:
Zebstrika returning
GLISCORRRRR
We didn’t get the dates, did we?
Looks alright. I’m having a problem picking this back up after restarting my game.. I haven’t even made it to the school yet maybe I’ll hold off on playing again until the DLC.
They didn’t give much away. I never really played the Sw/Sh DLC. Never peaked my interest.
I’ve really enjoyed the last few games visually but the story lines are so meh. Is that really the best they can come up with. I currently have zero insentive to buy the dlc. Bring back the evil teams!
This is going to be BIG
I’m confused I’ve read the first dlc is out tomorrow or Wednesday but then also read on Nintendo store that it’s December.
Teal Mask (Pt. 1) is out Wednesday, Indigo Disk (Pt. 2) is the one that's available in December
Not me restarting my game tho and only being 1 badge in oop.
Just finished the main story of the DLC, comparable to Isle Of Armor for me but a bit more character driven. I was somewhat bored until the climax, the climax battles if you do it post game actually felt like a bit of a challenge, the character has a proper team with items and a good moveset. Only about 3 hours long too, it was nice to have actual characters/rivals whereas IOA felt like a glorified fetch quest and the “rivals” barely mattered.
The scaling I think is still an issue, they should have locked it behind post game for sure. It feels off when the rival teams scale like a full game but within a 3 hour mini story, the beginning battles are trivial even if you start with a team you just caught, as they obviously scaled it in a way that makes sense wherever you are in the main game.
Like IOA though, it kind of feels like a teaser for something better, I am expecting Indigo Disc to be bigger and better. The performance is horrific in places too, worse than I ever noticed in the main game.
Bought the DLC from CDKeys with a cheeky little discount so I couldn't say no. I've been playing it here and there since Wednesday and not really followed much of the main story arc as I'm too engrossed in exploring and catching everything . A few people have said how short it feels though, but given the area there's not that much to do so I'm not surprised but it's nice to have a new area and Pokedex open up (with a variety of Gens returning). It's enjoyable enough but as Liam says it does feel like Part 2 is going to be much bigger.
The gameplay is shocking though, it's so laggy (worse than when the game released in November it feels).
The talking scenes in the dlc are relentless, I just wanna explore. The festival bit and Carmine are exhausting.
All I’ve been doing is exploring and catching new Pokemon to do the storyline with. I’ve been treating this as a different game lol that’s why I did a new nickname scheme for this crop
how is Carmine more annoying than Nemona like girl stfu sometimes
Wayyyyy too much talking from her and Kieran to an extent, but I grew fond of both of them towards the end of the story whereas I've never liked Nemona at all
