BuzzJack Music Forum _ Gaming and Internet _ What would you say is your most played game ever?

Posted by: HarryEzra 7th March 2018, 12:15 AM

Honestly thinking about I have played the first Black Ops game the most due to the addictive Zombies mode, great campaign and honestly, I quite enjoyed the regular multiplayer modes, maps and gameplay.

What do you think is yours?

Posted by: lewistgreen 7th March 2018, 06:56 AM

Its either Mario Kart for Wii or GTA Vice City for Playstation!

Posted by: Iz 7th March 2018, 09:27 AM

If my Steam stats don't lie, Europa Universalis IV. Nearly 800 goddamn hours (albeit I know a good portion of that was the game left idling) and they're all so worth it because it's the best and most fun kind of achievement hunting and history immersion.

I bet from years prior though that Rome: Total War is close, I only started properly using Steam in 2016, I have 76 hours logged off that and I've been playing that on and off pretty much since it was released, although partially with a complete overhaul mod, Europa Barbarorum.

Games with Europa in the title, that's it.

I got to 999:59 on Pokémon Emerald so I would hazard an educated guess at that laugh.gif

Posted by: Dircadirca 7th March 2018, 06:05 PM

Unless I'm forgetting something on a console, though it'd still be a tall ask, I've got roughly 1,000 hours in Team Fortress 2 that doesn't look like being overtaken any time soon.

Black Ops III

Probably Football Manager 2011 on the PC.

Posted by: Dexton 8th March 2018, 02:16 AM

Looking at Steam, my most played game is TF2 with 1008 hours since 01/01/2012. Although, this is on my new laptop which i never bothered installing it on... so I haven’t played it in at least a year now which is quite something. After that there’s Garry’s Mod (372 hours) and then Left 4 Dead 2 (94 hours). L4D2 I also had on Xbox back in the day though so I’ve played that a lot more than it seems.

Non-Steam, I’m fairly certain my most played game of all time would be Zoo Tycoon 2 tbh. I was literally OBSESSED with that game when I was younger, I had all the expansions and was constantly playing it for the longest time. Before that I played the original, but not as religiously. The Sims 3 is also a big one as there was a time when I worshipped that game and everything that came with it, there was even a time when I watched YouTubers playing it and just having fun (rip Quxxn) heart.gif Spore and GTA Liberty City (PSP) were also big with me back then laugh.gif And Pokemon I guess, although not so much recently (since early 2015 I think) and even then that’s spanning across 7-8 different Pokemon games tongue.gif

Posted by: Riser 8th March 2018, 04:06 AM

The original Animal Crossing on GameCube, pretty sure I've spent more time just pulling weeds than I've spent playing any other game tongue.gif

Posted by: Good Old Days 9th March 2018, 05:52 AM

Obviously TES : Morrowind. wub.gif
Huge game and I almost didn't play in both addons (Tribunal and Bloodmoon).

Also : Diablo 2 and Civilization 2.

Posted by: Asmodeus 19th March 2018, 05:20 AM

I've played Super Marios Bros for the NES more times than I can count. Probably the greatest pickup and play games ever.

Posted by: Qween 19th March 2018, 10:10 AM

Probably a 3 way FIGHT TO THE DEATH between James Bond: Nightfire on the Gamecube, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 on the PC and Mario Kart Wii.

Posted by: Jade 19th March 2018, 02:34 PM

I would say either Sims 2 for PC (which I have just composed a paragraph about in the Sims thread) or Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak on Gameboy Advance laugh.gif Some of you may be thinking... WTF is that? at the latter game kink.gif but basically my first console was a Gameboy Advance as a small child (I got it when I was about 6 I think) and at the time I was obsessed with a cartoon hamster called Hamtaro, who was created in Japan and had a TV show. A few games were made about him like this one and a Hamtaro version of the Olympic games. This was an adventure game and I found it to be very fun as a child, thus completed it many times. I revisited it a few years ago actually just so I could complete it all over again and I was probably better at it as a 6-year-old tbh.

I'd say Final Fantasy 9 as I've done it many many times !

Same, sunk many hours into this on multiple devices. wub.gif

Posted by: Oliver 30th March 2018, 07:48 AM

Football Manager (across all the years) is a close second though.

Posted by: Iz 30th March 2018, 08:57 AM

Oh yes Football Manager. That eats hours. I pretty much only played it one summer and yet EUIV's only relatively recently overtaken it as my most played Steam game.

Posted by: Ronald McJackson 26th May 2018, 02:38 AM

Pokemon over the years most definitely, not sure exactly which generation I have spent the most on though.

Posted by: Defaze 30th May 2018, 02:27 PM

Probably Crash Team Racing in terms of individual games, but Pokemon probably eclipses it by faaar if we're counting the multiple games per generation. I must've played through RBY/GSC about 50 times in total as a kid.

More recently, it's probably GTA V. I've sunk way too much of my time into such a toxic game. laugh.gif I imagine Fallout 4 isn't far behind.

Posted by: vidcapper 30th May 2018, 02:30 PM

For me, it would be the arcade game Defender - I played that all the time in the 80's!

Posted by: JSG 26th June 2018, 06:27 PM

My most played game ever is splatoon 2 for Nintendo Switch and it's not even close if I'm honest. I'm at 700+ hours I'm sure.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 28th June 2018, 01:29 PM

If I was to consider all of the versions of Mario Kart I've played, it'd probably be that! Although it could very well be the various Pokemon games.

Posted by: Envoirment 29th June 2018, 08:46 PM

Runescape. Played it loads when I was younger, I have ~7750 hours put into it. That's over the course of ~15 years though. I had a good group of friends I used to really enjoy playing it with.

If you count the Pokemon series as a whole, I likely have over 5000 hours across all games since the originals were released.

I can be quite a hardcore gamer, particularly if I'm really into a game. A lot of RPG/open world game series like Dragon Age/Mass Effect/Fallout and team based games like League of Legends/Overwatch I've put thousands of hours into as well. Games are to me what TV/Books are to others. Although I have been gaming a lot less recently in the last couple of years.

Posted by: awardinary 29th June 2018, 09:23 PM

I would say it’s Final Fantasy X for me, which I still return to very occasionally on PS4.

Posted by: Mack. 30th June 2018, 11:31 AM

Pretty much the football management games and FIFA games throughout the years have been the most played for me.

Posted by: Juranamo 30th June 2018, 10:23 PM

Either one of the Gran Turismo’s or the first Digimon World! I just got the latest one, and I’m enjoying it, back on the same lines as the first one. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Sw▲ggy J 2nd July 2018, 06:49 PM

Definitely Mario Kart Wii for all the time spent playing online mode with the likes of Bal, Jay and Bray. The original Sims for Playstation 2 probably comes 2nd, or if you group the various editions of Singstar under one umbrella it could be that tongue.gif

Posted by: Asmodeus 9th July 2018, 05:42 PM

Super Mario Bros - Famicom/SNES
The Matrix: Path of Neo - PS2

Posted by: Whatever94 29th September 2023, 07:56 AM

Pokémon HeartGold with 400+ hours played since December 2010. No other game I've ever played even comes close to that. laugh.gif

5 years later, Furi has overtaken TF2 on steam but also they're both demolished by Tetris 99 which came out a year after this post and I now have 2000 hours in it and counting.

Posted by: Cow P 29th September 2023, 04:56 PM

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2

I spent probably around 3 months just to acquire the Musha Gundam (and its Mk-II) license.

Posted by: vefunnossupo 6th December 2023, 01:06 PM

I probably spend most of my time playing GTA 5. But yesterday I saw the new GTA 6 trailer and I just can't wait for its release.

Posted by: Buzzz 7th December 2023, 08:44 PM

Red Alert, probably. One of the best games ever.

100% THIS

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition

Posted by: Hadji 9th December 2023, 06:41 PM

Anything to do with GTA, Sonic or Mario. And I also like my old school arcade games such as OutRun series, Virtua Fighter series, Daytona USA and Sega Rally

Posted by: gooddelta 12th December 2023, 11:14 AM

Over all the years, probably Tetris! I was particularly obsessed with Tetris DS in the 00s.

I put a LOT of hours into Banjo-Kazooie on the N64 too. I remember the entire week between Christmas and New Year 1998 was just me playing that non-stop.

And Grand Slam Tennis on the Wii I got weirdly addicted to as well.

Posted by: -Jay- 13th December 2023, 02:35 AM

At this point it has to be Fortnite, I've been playing it for 5 and a half years drama.gif

Posted by: DoBelieveTheHype 13th May 2024, 07:32 PM

Definitely Minecraft, only game I play. I've probably sunk over a 1000 hours into that game.

Posted by: Dexton 17th May 2024, 03:03 PM

Going by Steam i’m on 1900~ hours in Team Fortress 2 lol. The next highest is GMod 300~ hours. Beyond Steam I know I sunk a looot of hours in Minecraft back in the day no doubt more than my TF2. But weighing up actually playing versus messing around chatting with people probably lowers that quite a bit.

Also sunk a lot of time into Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, Zoo Tycoon 2, and later The Sims 3 in the 2000s.

2006-2009 JP / ZT2 / Club Penguin laugh.gif
2009-2013 TS3
2010-2017 Minecraft / TF2
2018-onwards not so much gaming

I’ve played a lot of CIV6 and Rimworld but not to the scale of games when I was younger. I go back to TF2 every now and again but not for long. Pokémon is up there too but obviously spread over many different games, I’m pretty sure the only one I’ve spent over 100 hours in is Sword because I finished a living dex and it took forever after deciding not to catch every new mon I saw on my playthrough. I learned from that error with Scarlet and finishing living dex by 45h
