BuzzJack Music Forum _ Gaming and Internet _ Journaling/Blogging/Habit Tracking

I have recently been getting into light Journaling.
I bought an hourly tracker last year (physical paper) and would track everything I would do as I was going it. It’s a great way to see what I’m spending my time on, tracking priorities for the day, etc.

Moving into 2024, I’ve started doing a bit more research and trying to figure out if I want to have a Physical Handwritten Journal, or using an online app like GoodNotes, DayOne ect.

I’ve also started looking into Bullet Habit Tracking, currently tracking:
Quality of Sleep
Days Without Smoking/Drinking
Days I Close My Exercise Rings

I did also buy a nice physical Bullet Journal that I’m trying to figure out what to use it for - I’m leaning towards a Album Tracker or a TV Show Tracker and buying a thermal printer with sticky paper.

I've tracked my music listening through last.fm for over 13 years now and I swear by it, not only for total playcounts but also for which weeks were busier/quieter than others, how my total playcounts change each year, etc! It's so useful.

I also track all of my TV (and movie) viewing through TV Time. It's not totally accurate as obviously I've not been tracking it my whole life, so it's impossible for me to say which EastEnders episodes I've watched in the 20 odd years I've been watching it, but from around 2021 it's totally accurate and it really helps me to stay on track. Also helps me log my favourite character per episode, any particular emotive responses I had, a star rating, etc.

I have kept a daily diary for about 6 years now but just do it in bullet point fashion rather than dear diary essays because I couldn't keep it up for too long otherwise! I did attempt to write it in that style on and off as a kid and those thoughts are hilarious to look back on from the perspective of an adult laugh.gif

I also have separate driving lesson diaries in my notes app where I blurt my feelings from each lesson and rate it out of 10, looking back at some of the disastrous earlier ones make me feel good about my progress at the moment and it's nice to positively reflect on the better ones too

I love watching flip through videos of other people's bullet journals but just can't commit to that much consistent effort myself

Like Joseph I use last.fm for tracking music and TV Time for television shows, plus Goodreads for books. I also use a tool called Notion for random organisational bits like to do lists, TV shows/movies/book recommendations, gift ideas for other people, weight loss tracking, goals etc... it's a bit all over the place but I like having a private written space for organisation plus random thoughts I can dump and reference easily. I've honestly been obsessed with lists and categorising for as long as I can remember lol
