I want to make a playlist of them for my throwback, hoeback moments so let me know
I had those on my cardio playlist this afternoon
Sonique - It Feels So Good
All Saints - Pure Shores
Britney Spears - Ooops!...I Did It Again
Melanie C - I Turn To You
Fragma - Toca's Miracle
Ooh Addy they're all from 2000 right? *.* I've been listening to a lot of Britney lately, 'Me Against The Music' my current jam
is it only early 2000’s?
bc Danity Kane - Damaged was THAT BOP
I think I'm going to give you guys daily updates of the 00s songs that come on during my treadmill sessions each day
Sadly today was 2010s-centric but I did get:
- Blue - All Rise
- Gorillaz - 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix)
Stronger and Oops are on my rotation these days
Following from Lee's thread, Groovejet & Murder on the Dancefloor have to be on any playlist!
Today's noughties impact during my run was slightly bigger than yesterday:
- Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up
- Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down
- Jaimeson - True (feat. Angel Blu)
So many tunes in here! Gorillaz & Arctic Monkeys in particular
Listened to S Club 8s Sundown album today.
T.a.t.u - All The Things She Said
Scissor Sisters - Filthy Gorgeous
Evanescence - Bring Me to Life
Blink 182 - I Miss You
Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom
Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot
Daniel Powter - Bad Day
Freemasons - Uninvited
Steps better best forgotten playing right now.

Did a one hour run today, here’s what I got from the noughties on shuffle:
Akon - Beautiful (feat. Colby O’Donis & Kardinal Offishall)
Fish Go Deep - The Cure & The Cause
Madonna - Hung Up
Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This
Maroon 5 - Harder To Breathe
The Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
Mary Mary - Shackles (Praise You)
Platnum - Love Shy (Thinking About You)
that second one is very much an underrated dance anthem. came up on my shuffle not so long ago and I forgot how good it was.
Just listened to Daft Punk - One More Time. I would say that this song is one of the most defining dance songs of 2000s and literally my favourite dance track ever. It will never get old for me.
Here are a few that missed the Top 40 (and in some cases the Top 100 ) but were big hits on my personal chart in the 2000s and I still love listening to today:
Camera Obscura “Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken”
Charted at: #124 (27.05.2006)
Johnny Boy “You Are The Generation That Bought More Shoes And You Get What You Deserve”
Charted at: #50 (14.08.2004)
Ladytron “Destroy Everything You Touch”
Charted at: #42 (01.10.2005) and at #158 (remix) (10.11.2007)
Friendly Fires “Jump In The Pool”
Charted at: #100 (13.09.2008) and at #57 (re-issue) (09.05.2009)
Ou Est Le Swimming Pool “Dance The Way I Feel”
Charted at: #110 (17.10.2009)
“Destroy Everything You Touch” what a song
The Feeling - Sewn
Still a nice lengthy tune. Their other hit singles from the same album... don't sound great now. Better leave them in 2006. LOL
I'm a huge corrs fan and they were huge back then, I have their greatest on and runaway is playing now
Shuffle was in a 2009 mood today! I got:
Basement Jaxx - Raindrops ~ kooky goodness <3 should’ve been a top 10 smash
La Roux - Bulletproof ~ always preferred this to ‘In For The Kill’, love the Pitch Perfect mash-up with ‘Release Me’ too
Omg Release Me *.* I forgot about Agnes. Loved that back in the day.
Sophie Ellis Bexter - Murder On The Dancefloor - absolute classic. Should've been #1 for weeks.
No Doubt - Hey Baby. Banger. Remember buying this and Sophie at the time.
Little Jackie - The World Should Revolve Around Me - such an infectious pop tune.
Jenny From The Block by Jennifer Lopez feat. Jadakiss and Styles P
Clint Eastwood (Ed Case/Sweetie Irie Refix) by Gorillaz
I was recently reminded of this bop thanks to watching all of the Canada's Drag Race lip syncs
their story is kinda tragic ngl, they never got big outside of Canada, then one of their members left, and then it all spiraled from there
Always Come Back to Your Love by Samantha Mumba
My mate has put on Sash's 'Raindrops' from 2008 recently and I've given them a couple of plays on Spotify. Totally didn't realise Molly our UK entrant was the singer and girl in the video or I did and forgot.
Partly inspired by the fact I didn't follow the charts for a couple of years from 03-05 and will have only become aware of songs that I hadn't heard back then only now... what songs are you only just discovering now?
a top 20 hit in 2004. Only charted with two songs in the top 40 overall. Also my mate has been playing this a handful of times recently too hence why it came to my attention.
Will add some more soon.
I think the last chart-topper oldie for me that I didnt know already was AH Gold's Xmas fave from Air, Ce Matin La
but Im always discovering old records I dont know, part of the joy of digging into back catalogue
2003/5?
well these were my chart-toppers from stuff released then (it wont add up to 52 weeks, cos oldies top my charts too) so if you don't know any of them, might be worth a youtube....

I’ve Got A Life Eurythmics 1
Will give that Corrs/Bono duet a listen!
I’ve never listened to solo Abba so that might be a good start for me with that Agnetha song and album!
A pleasant song by Agnetha, wasn't it a Cilla Black cover?
I owned the Candee Jay album, she was basically the Alice Deejay sequel, the producers were the same but the vocalist was different.
Looking at the Stereophonics singles in the 00's and don't think I know this one but it sounds decent enough.
Stereophonics had some bops!
Currently checking out a Fleetwood Mac song I've not heard from 2003 called 'Miranda' which has a nice charm to it.
I recently got into all of Bananarama’s back catalogue which obviously includes the Drama, Viva and In Stereo eras!
Viva is probably my second favourite Bananarama album!
Not the most interesting comeback after her biggest hits in 2000. No wonder she didn't trouble the chart again after.
Usually anything in the BJSC is new to me!
It does sound vaguely familiar but I don't know if I know it that at all either so counting it as a first discovery lol. Pretty good track though!
Royskopp!
I've heard a couple of theirs, of course the Christmas song of sorts I sent to a BJSC Spin off two years ago but this is also cool from them. Not heard it before I don't think!
Breathless - The Corrs
I’d love to say I have rediscovered most of these but most of these never went off my playlists ha!
This thread could be merged with the other tbf!
Still listening to this one quite frequently, love the 'We've all been changed from what we were...' part especially
Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie has just come into my head. First song I’m listening to after work today.
This funky bop by No Doubt. In My CD collection from way back when!
Listening to this anthem, saw them in 2017 and they were great as well!
Cheeky Girls - Take Your Shoes Off
Possibly it's my third favourite their single, behind Christmas song (# 1 in my chart) and fresh "Let's Have Fun".
This is one I've known for years but is such a cute little track!
They had more than 1 or 2 hits
I bought Hey Baby on CD single back when it was released. It was the only No Doubt CD I ever had.
I don't want to post a long list of 00s songs, which I discovered through the work with "Gražios Dainos" retrospective charts cycle and I'm only in September 2002.
My retrospective # 1 songs, which I didn't know before :
- Loona - La Vida (Es Una Flor)
- Mirah - Gotta Go Home
- Sugarlips - Little Piece Of Me
- Mirah - Stop And Think It Over
- Sarah - Liever
- Delta Goodrem - I Don't Care
- Kisha - Hello
- Lizzy Pattinson - Dreaming
Just bought Avril’ debut album yesterday and what a collection it is!
Avril Lavigne’s debut album!
And to a lesser extent, Leona Lewis’ music!
Oh a fab get James. Can't go wrong with Avrils debut!
Merged my listening to thread with the 2000s Classics we're listening to together!
For the past 18 years I thought Amerie's debut single was '1 Thing' in 2005. Today I discover it was actually 'Why Don't We Fall In Love' back in 2002, top 40 on both sides of the pond and it still passed me by!
Also I dont know how I didn't know the featured singer was the guy from Crazytown 'Faster Kill Pussycat' is better but I did like this one too!
We had a Rachel Stevens listenthrough in the S Club forum earlier and it was PERF!
Was listening to this just now. She only had one top 40 and it wasn't even a hit either. Just outside the top 20. Anyway good song and I was about to post in whatever happened to her and then just forgot she was sent to BJSC and won with this 6 years ago which was good but hasn't aged too well now tbh.
hear this round my friends a fair bit this year. A tune
I have been obsessed with this a lot over recent months. I know someone will say that's not 2000s really but it was released here in early 2000 so I'm allowing it
Listening to the new version of Vanessa Amorosi's legendary classic UK No.7 turned cult anthem Absolutely Everybody, released today.
She's given it a bit of a 90s house makeover, but otherwise isn't too far removed from the original.
Such a fab track and I'd say her best!
Low-known Swedish pop singer with radio hit in .... Poland (!!!).
Ann Winsborn - Everything I Do ( I Do It For You )
^ There was me thinking that it was a Bryan Adams cover
Liked the biggest hit too but this one was my personal fave of theirs. Bit silly sounding but a fun track!
--
Peaked at 35 on the same chart that will get covered in today's Pick of The Pops today from 2002. Pretty good track from Moby. The Davis Sisters 'Lord Don't Leave Me' is the sample!
Just recently spun Trip The Light Fantastic by SEB.
It contains my favourite album track by her: If I Can’t Dance
Still a bop!
still sounds lovely even now!
--
Naimee Coleman - Sleeping Satellite (2003)
She already had two big hits in my chart : "My Star" (# 1) and "Ordinary World" (# 5). Is it that single which will replace Girls Aloud "No Good Advice" on the top ?
Heard this for the very first time last night. I'm liking it every bit as much as 'Too Close'!
One of those tracks that I never knew the name of it was (kinda impossible to google right) but finally tracked it down thanks to a timely Shazam in the gym. Don't remember this being a top 40 hit at the time but there you go!
I didn't know that song was as old as 2001! I remember discovering it from nighttime Radio 1 around 2010 or so.
Alanis has so many classics and I liked this one.
Remember this one from Kevin and Perry but it's a great trance dance track anyway!
I heard this walking around Tesco last night. Didn't overly recall but gathered it was Travis and 'Closer' and was right! Just listened to it now again and quite a nice track and video. Features Ben Stiller too!
My top 10 most played 21CT tracks from the last 6 months:
1. Jem - Just a Ride
2. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor
3. Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For?
4. Jem - They
5. Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
6. Girls Aloud - The Show
7. blink-182 - I Miss You
8. Blue - All Rise
9. Gwen Stefani, Eve - Rich Girl
10. Avril Lavigne - Don't Tell Me
Sophie 2nd again. She's cursed
She can't catch a break the poor gal
I've randomly come across Black Eyed Peas - Shut Up and suddenly I'm liking it more now than ever before
And I've just "discovered" this song, although it's been on a Now CD I've had for 20 years, I have no recollection of it at all but it's sounding great!
