RuPaul's Drag Race
24th - 0.069380054
RuPaul starts us off! Two of Ru's own songs were used, and three entries came courtesy of Drag Race contestants. UK Hun? did the best, a bona fide bop fronted by a group of four UK Season 2 queens: Bimini Bon-Boulash, Lawrence Chaney, Tayce and A'Whora.
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 24th [4/60] New Friends Silver, Old Friends Gold (feat. Matt Pop) [RuPaul]
Round 2: 24th [4/53] Believe [Trixie Mattel]
Round 3: 24th [0/53] Irresistable [Blair St. Clair]
Round 4: 24th [4/56] (Here It Comes) Around Again (The Matt Moss Mix) [RuPaul]
Round 5: 23rd [8/60] UK Hun? [United Kingdolls]
Robbie Williams & Take That
23rd - 0.209779874
I hope there will be no regrets that Robbie & Take That have finished in 23rd place! A few of these choices came via shuffle, which can be an artist forum's downfall in this contest.
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 18th [22/60] No Regrets [Robbie Williams]
Round 2: 23rd [10/53] Don't Give Up on Me [Take That]
Round 3: 23rd [16/53] Strong [Robbie Williams]
Round 4: 22nd [7/56] Sure [Take That]
Round 5: 24th [4/60] Me and My Monkey [Robbie Williams]
Unsurprising for both of those really. Robbie and TT were ruined by random shuffle (and even more so by the final song... )
Those song choices for Robbie/TT
one day we will finally get angels, patience and grannies day
Would love to know how well Robbie/TT could have done with choices like Angels and Rule the World! No Regrets is definitely one of Robbie's best in my opinion.
Grannies Day
Shawn Mendes
22nd - 0.253504043
Canadian superstar Shawn Mendes rose to fame in late 2015 / early 2016 with his gigantic breakthrough hit Stitches, but he's never made it very far in AF Idol. Thankfully, the new format gave him a chance to shine, and despite some disappointing results, a range of Shawn's biggest hits and some recent fan favourite album tracks got their moment!
(commentary by Joseph)
Round 1: 21st [20/60] There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back
Round 2: 21st [15/53] Teach Me How To Love
Round 3: 21st [20/53] (tied) Stitches
Round 4: 23rd [6/56] Look Up at the Stars
Round 5: 22nd [10/60] In My Blood
One Direction
21st - 0.381325247
Much like Shawn, 1D have never made it very far in AF Idol before, so I was really excited at the prospect of being able to plan out five entries that we'd be guaranteed to send. The main focus came from solo music, with Niall, Zayn (finally, to Calum's delight x) and Harry making up four out of five entries, and though they finished just outside the top 20, they really weren't too far off in the end. A pleasing outcome!
(commentary by Joseph)
Round 1: 23rd [14/60] Slow Hands [Niall Horan]
Round 2: 22nd [14/53] Where Do Broken Hearts Go [One Direction]
Round 3: 17th [22/53] (tied) PILLOWTALK [ZAYN]
Round 4: 10th [37/56] Sign of the Times [Harry Styles]
Round 5: 19th [20/60] (tied) Watermelon Sugar [Harry Styles]
Poor Shawn Some great songs there, but he doesn't have enough stans! Though not even I found room for In My Blood (which I adore, it's probably my favourite song he's done) against some of the classics in Round 5.
Going solo with One Direction seemed like a wise choice, I guess group singles would have been generally less well received. A great outcome for Sign of the Times in particular (which actually grew on me after hearing it in its round!)
No major surprises really thus far
Sign of the Times finally growing on Jay was my fave moment of this and it made the whole thing worthwhile xx
Y'all actually did 'Teach Me How To Bop' so, SO dirrrrrrty. HEATHENS!!!!
'Sign Of The Times' smashing though...
1D and Shawn flopping Buzzjack doesn’t like male artists we been knew

Steps
20th - 0.390669362
Steps became a new addition to the artist forums line up back in April of this year. While the forum has been a great success, it seems their presence in this contest was less well received! Four of their biggest hits and a major fan favourite album track just wasn't enough to translate into more than 20th place overall, but... it's the taking part that counts, right? x A memorable moment during the decision making was a debate regarding whether It's the Way You Make Me Feel is a ballad or midtempo. I am team midtempo!
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 14th [25/60] (tied) Scared of the Dark
Round 2: 20th [17/53] Love U More
Round 3: 15th [24/53] One for Sorrow

Round 5: 21st [19/60] Tragedy
Ava Max
19th - 0.394833783
Ava Max was one of the artists involved in AF Idol Spin-Off 2.0 (which happened earlier in 2021) and due to now having her own artist forum she was eligible for the main contest. In the Spin-Off she came 6th out of 12 artists - rather notably outdoing The Beatles! 19th on this occasion, but clearly many of us appreciated the bops that were sent. Her most recent smash My Head & My Heart performed the best!
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 19th [21/60] (tied) Torn
Round 2: 15th [25/53] Born to the Night
Round 3: 14th [26/53] My Head & My Heart
Round 4: 21st [10/56] Freaking Me Out
Round 5: 15th [29/60] Sweet But Psycho
No way The Way Make You Feel is a ballad
i expected steps to perform a bit better tbh
happy with 19th for ava tbh, the midtempo round was less than ideal for her
and agreed that y'all were sleeping on teach me how to love x
I love steps - there’s soooo many steps songs I would have voted for but didn’t vote for many of these. I think the songs chosen were okay but I’d be interested to see how some other songs would have performed.
Ava Max was a great discovery for me, especially Born To The Night
Hype!!
sooo...the results?

I don't have any comment on Shawn Mendes, sorry!
Zara Larsson
18th - 0.399537287
BuzzJack icons Lotita and JosephStyles pose with the poster girl herself, Zara Larsson!
Lee is unavailable for comment, but I imagine he would have this to say about 18th place: The way Zara is being slept on, she honestly stood no chance during this contest when an artist can send an appalling song but smash it.

Round 1: 19th [21/60] (tied) All the Time
Round 2: 16th [24/53] (tied) Poster Girl

Round 4: 13th [25/56] Symphony (Acoustic) (with Clean Bandit)

! Lotti and I confirmed to be taking over the Zara forum from Lee x
Olivia Rodrigo
17th - 0.409739443
Olivia deserved better than this but for someone with only 1 album and literally all her songs being from 2021 (bar all I want & a couple less relevant HSM: TM: TS songs), she slayed this to not even finish in the bottom quarter of the results *.* These rounds gave us a chance to show y'all most of Olivia's big hits, from breaking hearts everywhere with drivers license to the epic cruel summer sampling on deja vu to banger of life and unquestionably the song of 2021 good 4 u! <3 They all did ok but got eaten up by the older classics in their round, I'm sure this time in like 5 years they'll be slaying these tho x We also sent two songs which verge the line of being album tracks/singles at this point with videos/some pushes but also not really being pushed I was impressed how traitor performed as you guys showed more taste than the chart forum! And I'm glad we sent brutal which I think definitely showed another side of Olivia to most of y'all and it was great to see some new and surprising fans voting for here and enjoying the music that we sent and discovering how talented Olivia already is <3 But anyway 17th is too low so well... good 4 you, you look happy and healthy... not me cos I'm now like a damn sociopath.
(commentary by UltraSour4u)
Round 1: 17th [23/60] drivers license
Round 2: 13th [26/53] (tied) brutal
Round 3: 20th [21/53] deja vu
Round 4: 15th [24/56] traitor
Round 5: 18th [21/60] good 4 u
Zara and Olivia both deserved better. good 4 u 18th?!
I suppose 17th overall isn't bad for Olivia given how new of an artist she is though.
Olivia's done well considering the field she's competing in, she's beaten artists with far more expansive discographies!
Zara deserved better
That was used in the midtempo/ballad round!
Rita Ora
16th - 0.41828841
I feel like Rita is an odd one in this contest... she has the bangers to back her up and get her far enough, but unfortunately she can never *quite* get enough love to move further. I had planned to try and be a bit more strategic/aim for the longer game, but Joseph & Jay knew she wouldn't go far anyway so wanted to see where the biggest hitters would land her. Definitely could've been worse for her, but one day, we will get her further The absolute anthem 'I Will Never Let You Down' ended up being her biggest hit in this edition... WE STAN!
(commentary by Tafty³³³)
Round 1: 8th [36/60] I Will Never Let You Down
Round 2: 18th [21/53] The One (feat. Imanbek)
Round 3: 21st [20/53] (tied) R.I.P. (feat. Tinie Tempah)
Round 4: 20th [15/56] Body On Me (feat. Chris Brown)

Rita was done dirty by y'all x
Calvin Harris
15th - 0.47787062
A triumphant win in Round 5 with 'We Found Love' (SNATCHED before Rihanna's forum could use it themselves) really improved Calvin Harris' average score across the 5 rounds. Unfortunately for him it was not quite enough to claw his way into the Top 12. A respectable result though, which makes Calvin the highest placed male artist forum!
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 14th [25/60] (tied) I'm Not Alone
Round 2: 19th [19/53] Faith
Round 3: 13th [27/53] This Is What You Came For (feat. Rihanna)
Round 4: 18th [18/56] Feels (feat. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean)
Round 5: 1st [47/60] (tied) We Found Love (with Rihanna)
Good result for Calvin. Rita is another one who deserved better!
Yeah, that's a decent placing for Calvin! Placing higher than some of the pop girls. Good stuff.
^ ! Definitely superior to Sugababes 4.0 x
Dua Lipa
14th - 0.526307278
Kath's reaction:
Future Nostalgia album track Cool came 4th out of 24 songs in Round 2, which is surely further proof that Dua is wrong to continually overlook its single potential!! Conversely That Kind of Woman fared less well in the album track round it was a part of - 16th. That outcome, combined with Don't Start Now suffering a bit in a round that was absolutely full of classics, led to Dua narrowly missing out on the Top 12.
(commentary by Jay)
Round 1: 11th [30/60] (tied) One Kiss (with Calvin Harris)
Round 2: 4th [35/53] Cool
Round 3: 11th [28/53] (tied) Love Again

Ariana Grande
13th - 0.545759209
THIS. ONE. HURTS. Literally one or two more voters for 'pov' and Ariana would have been our finalist over Kylie! That round really hurt Ari (bizarrely). I was sure 'pov' would translate better with the crowds :\ Other than that round though, Ariana had a stellar performance as they hit the top 10 every other time. Look at that list! I don't know why or how Ariana seems to stall so much in this contest but... meh. One day they will get further than the bottom half of AF Idol... ONE. DAY. I'm manifesting it right now.

Round 1: 9th [35/60] (tied) Break Free (feat. Zedd)
Round 2: 10th [32/53] Greedy
Round 3: 6th [33/53] Love Me Harder (with The Weeknd)
Round 4: 19th [16/56] pov
Round 5: 6th [38/60] (tied) One Last Time
Ariana I was rooting for her to make the top 12, pov really did sour things but I find that so surprising, it's a gorgeous song!
Pov is pretty boring imo.
I'm not sure if we'd already revealed that it was Kylie that blocked Ariana, but this is how close it was between them after 5 rounds:
12th - 0.547583109 - Kylie Minogue
13th - 0.545759209 - Ariana Grande
Unfortunate for Ariana because she had unlucky moments in the first two years as well
Stick around to find out if Kylie ultimately managed to improve on her 12th position at the half way point!
Ariana being very unlucky this year, she’s never quite done as well as she could in this contest
P!nk
12th - 0.459665885
First 5 Rounds: 8th - 0.61614106
P!nk is up next in a very respectable 12th place. The 1st half went incredibly well and she low-key out performed my expectations, but 2nd half not as great, but it's great that we finally got a bit more from P!nk aside from the 'I'm Not Dead' era. Some of my absolute favourite P!nk tracks got sent this time so it was a near flawless set of song choices for me, so I'm really appreciative of the moderators for going for some of them! Some absolute classics got their shot here *.*

Little Mix
11th - 0.485425533
First 5 Rounds: 10th - 0.596244385
Little legends managed to get into the top half and for that, I'm so grateful and appreciative 'Happiness' was definitely the biggest surprise success for us and I'm really happy we got to send their best ever album track (soz 'Wasabi'!) and it actually pulling off to be a big success for them. In the 2nd half we definitely knew we were going to be bottom 3 somewhere and that's fine for us! It'd be really good if people from the Little Mix forum actually participated in this The mods + PAJ were the only constant forum goers to consistently vote. LMAOOOO. AH WELL. NVM We'll get there eventually, but yeah, happy with our performance overall and just extremely happy to have finished top 3 in the final half at least once *.*

Round 10: 10th [18/51] Sweet Melody
It’s a shame that Pink couldn’t do better. She was up against a lot of artists with really strong fan bases on here in the second half and I don’t regret any of the choices.
Perhaps I’d have wanted to switch Just Like A Pill and So What but I’m not sure how close she was to missing the final 12 by round 5 so didn’t know if we could risk it.
Poor Dua and Ariana 2 main pop gals got done dirty!
Nobody listened when I said That Kind of Woman would do poorly
^ Which song should have been sent for Dua instead?
I actually love Little Mix and pretty much every song that represented them in this contest*, though that may not have been apparent with my votes... I only voted for them in two rounds! The unfortunate thing is, particularly in the final half, I simply loved a lot of the other artists/songs more than Little Mix. Sweet Melody was one of my most loved songs of 2020 and yet I had it 12th out of 12 in that final round. Brutal!
* (bar Love Me or Leave Me, I don't really understand that one being such a fan fave)
I think we're leaving it there for tonight, sorry, but we hope to see you all around tomorrow when we'll begin the Top 10!
Crap I was hopin that the Cowell band would be last!! There were some alsoran acts last, like Ava Max and Shawn somerhing or other, so I guess those results weren't too bad. To think people believed they actually beat Bad Romance a few years ago
Speakin of, GaGa to win!! Katy Perry really tailed off in the end. Taylor does country far better than trite pop , so she could have got top 5 if they had sent songs pre pop mess.
Was rooting for P!nk to make the top 10. Ah well
Poor Dua and Ari just missing out, wow at how close it was between Ari and Kylie
P!nk & Little Mix both sent some great songs <3
I think 17th place is great for Olivia - pleased to see she managed to get higher than some more established artists and it’s fitting that Traitor was one of the more successful rounds- that song really came alive for me during this AF Idol.
Shame about P!nk but it was great to be introduced to some new songs I’d not heard before. Same for Ariana actually.
Taylor top 10 ! Woohoo. I’m gonna predict number 9
TOP 3 PREDICTION
1. Britney
2. Gaga
3. Girls Aloud
Probably way off but whatever
When does this continue? (So that I know when to be online)
From 7pm! We’re aiming to finish the results tonight, so hope to see lots of you here!
Yay!
Katy Perry
10th - 0.491452695
First 5 Rounds: 11th - 0.579415993
Here in 10th place is former finalist, Katy Perry. Looking at some of these results right now and honestly... I'm really baffled by what went wrong with 'Dark Horse' & 'Hot N Cold' in particular. I would've assumed both were solid top 5 placings (6/7 at the worst) but neither of them got top half of their rounds? Bizarre. At least Katy's best song got them a victory though! A good game was played, even if some of the results were slightly odd and really not how I would have imagined Katy to have done.

Round 10: 6th [24/51] Teenage Dream
Katy's provided us with some of the finest pop records of the past 10 years so she deserved better than that.
Dark Horse has aged pretty badly. HNC is one of my personal faves, don't remember if I voted it or not though
Btw, I find it hilarious how DH and Black Widow are basically the same song.
Taylor Swift
9th - 0.525675055
First 5 Rounds: 9th - 0.602866128
And quite fittingly after Katy we complete the bad blood connection with Taylor finishing in 9th place in this competition! First of all I wanna say a big thanks to my fellow Taylor mods ...Ready for it and London for taking on this competition and making the selections etc & making sure that we acc submitted songs for each round! My life has been hectic af recently haha so I feel like I pretty much stopped having time to get involved after like the 2nd round Anyway back to Taylor cos not everything is about me! (ft. Brendon Urie of Panic at the disco), Taylor did pretty well on the whole! The best performing round happened in round 7 when reputation's deep-cut Getaway Car won the round! It's great seeing Getaway Car get the appreciation it deserves, what a timeless masterpiece <3 Taylor's album tracks did very well on the whole, with Cruel Summer (time for some more why tf weren't GC or CS singles) and Enchanted finishing top 5 and legendary ballad All Too Well scoring a top half placement in a round full of singles! We also sent some of her biggest hits, with some like Blank Space performing very well whilst others slightly underperformed. Especially #Justice4Willow which basically stopped y'all getting anymore folkmore songs in this competition gah Anyway I'm v. happy with 9th for Taylor and as we continue with results, go purchase Red (Taylor's Version) and Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version) <3

Round 10: 11th [17/51] Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)
What a game for Taylor
It's sad to see 'willow' performance prevented more from the 'FolkMore' eras but it's genuinely one of the worst of the 2 eras for me (I really don't get why it's so adored when compared to like over half of the tracks from either of the albums!!) 'exile' deserved it's moment </3
Very happy to see how well 'Enchanted' did. More 'Speak Now' in the future hopefully!
All Too Well should've been #2 on that round. Her best song!
PREACH IT! (Well, I placed it 3rd but I should've put it above STEPS tbh)
My main comment for Taylor is... justice for folkmore!! However, so many great Taylor songs sent across the rounds though! Jonjo shading willow... he cannot be trusted x
I was definitely surprised by some of Katy's results, particularly Dark Horse in 17th - but still, making the Top 10 out of 24 forums is a great outcome!
I'm in the minority of not really enjoying folklore / evermore as much as most Taylor albums so I wasn't disappointed to see little representation there Speak Now getting a moment with her best song
Kylie Minogue
8th - 0.528809614
First 5 Rounds: 12th - 0.547583109
A very shaky start for the Kylie AF as it fell victim to the random song generator in Round 1 - if only it was the studio version of 'All the Lovers'! Thankfully things turned around nicely in Round 4 when 'Slow', perhaps surprisingly, gave the AF its best performer! 'Love At First Sight' gave the forum another #2 position after we ever so narrowly made it into the second half of the competition. I'd have liked to have given 'Impossible Princess' some representation, perhaps in Round 2 album track round, however my main concern was to make up for our poor start and I'm unsure how this experimental era of Kylie music would have fared.

Round 10: 9th [19/51] On A Night Like This
Kylie really managed to turn it around after a wobbly start, some amazing picks along the way
Rounds 7-10 had pretty weird song choices from Kylie, if you ask me. Needed more Put Yourself in My Place and Confide in Me and less Light Years era
Rihanna
7th - 0.552280826
First 5 Rounds: 2nd - 0.674438455
Rihanna manages to finish 7th this time around (she finished 2nd last time). A very successful 1st half with a more mixed 2nd half. 'Fire Bomb' being the major surprise underperformer for her I think. The song did great the first time it was sent... I don't understand why it wasn't as well received this time around?! Baffling. 'Never Ending' was a rather random, but inspired, choice. It's interesting that Rihanna herself won round 5, but unfortunately it was sent by the Calvin forum, so it doesn't count towards her total! Looking like Rihanna hits or misses with BJ! I'm sure she'll be fine and come firing back, all guns blazing next time!

Taylor would have got higher had she sent Safe and Sound and State of Grace and Red songs.
Quite pleased with both sets of results for Rihanna and Katy to be honest but yes! Some of those results for Katy are very strange imo. It was fun taking part in my first AF IDOL! and I look forward to the next one. Congrats to everyone and all the work they've out into their forums this far this year.
Rihanna is one of my all time fave artists... huge discography to choose from though, definitely not sure about Never Ending and Fire Bomb.
Spice Girls
6th - 0.558311834
First 5 Rounds: 7th - 0.619937107
Spiceboy and I initially planned to only send solo songs... but that plan quickly went out the window!
This year is the first time we've sent some Emma songs. Her #1 hit What Took You So Long? started things off, ending up a few points adrift of the top half of the scoreboard. However, the fan favourite single Maybe was well received, and really outperformed my expectations by placing 5th! That's the result I was most happy with. We also turned to Melanie C, using her very first song When You're Gone and her most recent release Touch Me! As for the group songs - Viva Forever performed the best overall, finishing 4th and attracting 75% of voters. Their other singles all finished in the top half. A consistent performance overall, so I'm delighted with this 6th place finish!

Spice Girls were very consistent!
oop at rihanna !!
i wonder where spice girls would have finished if we got a different song round 1?
Very consistent from the Spice Girls, I loved the variety this time round!
I thought Spice Girls would have been a little higher than that.
Or maybe Spice Girls should release more new music as a group
What Took You So Long shoulda come top 10
Glad to see Viva Forever and When You're Gone placing so high in their respective rounds. Both wonderful songs.
Sugababes
5th - 0.606179748
First 5 Rounds: 6th - 0.636630728
Sugababes have made a triumphant comeback to BuzzJack's artist forums this year - and their first time taking part in AF Idol has resulted in an excellent outcome of 5th place! A selection of well loved Sugababes hit singles and fan favourite album tracks provided them with consistently strong results - just look at that run of Top 5 finishes in the final four rounds! In my opinion, one of the most memorable moments of the contest is Medevac by Siobhan Donaghy being sent - this is an album track, but it was sent in a round that mostly included singles. A slight risk, but nevertheless achieved a commendable 16th in a highly competitive round. Solo representation also came in the form of Mutya's big hit single Song 4 Mutya. Well done, Sugababes forum!

Round 9: 4th [23/44] Conversation's Over [Sugababes]
Round 10: 3rd [33/51] Push the Button [Sugababes]
Was delighted with the Sugababes performance, it was strong from start to finish! Medevac would've flourished in another round too I think.
Way better than I was expecting! Very pleased with how we did. Thanks everyone who helped us pick with their suggestions and comments and poll votes and then also thanks to everyone who voted for us in some very tough rounds!!
They didn't even send the best songs (Overload and Too Lost in You)
new page x
Girls Aloud
4th - 0.617970235
First 5 Rounds: 3rd - 0.668292902
After a disappointing AF Idol 2.0, Jay and I knew we wanted to come back fighting this time round, and we sure did, finishing as the top girl group! We barely deviated from a planned list of entries at the start of the competition and secured two wins along the way, from No Good Advice and Call the Shots, in what was a mostly consistent performance. Sadly, the competition coincided with losing Sarah, and we opted to send Miss You Bow Wow as a tribute in round 9 as it's one of her most iconic moments. We love you Sarah, and we're delighted that Girls Aloud have redeemed themselves this time around!

Madge vs. Gaga vs. Brit
My three faves
Britney Spears
3rd - 0.632556103
First 5 Rounds: 4th - 0.638176101
The first ever winner of AF idol failed to replicate that in the sequel last year when the collaborations round cruelly threw out Brit at some point in the mid-way range! That didn't happen this time and with a few riskier choices than what people would typically expect from us, we managed to place an incredible 3rd place. Extremely happy with our placing and the way that we played the game. Very proud and so happy we were quite "brave" and got to send 'Break The Ice', 'Lonely', 'Overprotected', 'Lucky', 'And Then We Kiss' and 'Touch Of My Hand'... who knows, maybe we'll dare to send some 'Glory' tracks in the future... *eyes* Overall, a great game played. That ascent up the rankings to end the contest with a win... amazing.

WHAT.
I would have put money on Britney winning
The age old battle.
Gaga vs. Madonna
Good vs. Evil
Who is gonna triumph?
I’d like to see a Madonna win out of what’s left. They really sent some excellent tracks for her.
OMG THIS IS SO EXCITING
The first two rounds weren't very good for Brit
Argh so late to the party. What to say, what to say??
Yay for Taylor top 10, at 9 as I’d predicted! 9 after the first 5 rounds and held on until the end. Willow is personally a favourite so pretty sad that wasn’t appreciated more but very happy Enchanted had its moment - another top song
Love to see Girls Aloud so high! Voted for them in every round bar one round and it was amazing to see them do so well, especially given the tragedy part way through the completion.
I hope Madonna snatches this …
Incredibly pleased with how well Girls Aloud performed throughout this contest! The win with No Good Advice took me completely by surprise, and Call the Shots managing more votes than Bad Romance and Toxic was fantastic!! Lovely words in that commentary, Joseph
I think Britney did really well to come third! As the commentary says, us mods decided to try and send as many "not obvious" songs by her as possible - and that resulted in a couple of midtier results to start with, but then she rallied - 8 top 5s in a row
Just want to say how much I’ve enjoyed this and thanks to all who helped make it happen
Madonna is a woman with very good songs and she has done well in this contest! - Bra
Hurry up I need to go to bed here in the eastern part of Europe
Britney, forever my number one
Little Mix also did great getting 11th
No worries, it was (mostly) a joke x
It's not *that* late yet
It's not like ESC that keeps exploding and will soon end like 4am our time.
MY FAULT I WAS TYPING RESULTS AND MY WIFI FAILED BUT IT'S BACK NOW SORRY EVERYONE
the top 2 thoough my two stan artists!
Madonna
2nd - 0.642116555
First 5 Rounds: 5th - 0.636949686
The pioneer of many of the artists showcased in this edition of AF idol and the benchmark for their careers (their words not mine), Madonna proves that she is not a has-been and that her back catalogue of music, her eclectic mix of styles from nearly 4 decades is still as relevant today as it was all those years ago when she burst onto the scene. Talking of her mix of styles, in this edition of the competition, we had the dancefloor anthems from Confessions on a Dancefloor, the zany country-tinged sounds of Music, the earthly, spiritual sounds of Ray of Light, the anthems from Like a Prayer and many more eras being represented. Her singles smashed their rounds and her album tracks proved to be great discoveries for many, as she never really languished too far below the mid way point of each round. Madonna also proved that she is still a heavyweight against the more current popstars, winning two rounds and coming 2nd in two also (the final two rounds as it happens). So whether she was melting your frozen hearts, leaving you hung up on the dancefloor, bringing you to your knees, or making you strike a pose, Madonna has earned a silver medal and has come in a very respectable second place!

1st - 0.661058612
First 5 Rounds: 1st - 0.706329739
With her second win in a row, it is Mother Monster herself that is crowned your AF idol winner. Off the back of her hugely celebrated return to the dancefloor, Gaga took us all to Chromatica and beyond this edition of the competition. With 4 out of 6 tracks taken from her latest album, Gaga showed that she is still able to churn out the hits and keep us enthralled with her music - the majority of the Chromatica tracks smashed into the top 2 of their respective rounds! Elsewhere, we went back in time to her roots, with Poker Face (which today celebrates its 13th birthday - lucky for some!), took a softer touch with her soundtrack ballads and even showcased some of her deep cuts even in rounds that didn't require album tracks! Throughout the competition, Gaga shifted the pace, sang her heart out and made us all put our paws up to the sky. She spent more than half of the rounds in the top 2 positions and only "suffered" slightly in the other 4 rounds, with 9th (out of 24) being her worst performance. So, proving once more, that pop music will never be low brow, lets put our paws together for your winner - Lady Gaga!

Omg yassssssss Gagaaaaa
Well done Madge too!
Out of the two, just for a new winner / the SHOCK i'd have loved a Madonna crowning but can't deny the love Gaga got this series - especially the new Chromatica tracks *.*
WE DID IT AGAIN
I'm absolutely over the moon and I'm glad this iconic lady's discography is quite clearly loved here. She remains one of the biggest stars on the planet and long may she continue to bless us with her music.
Thanks to everybody for running and organizing this. AF Idol's are *super* fun and I'm always slightly bereft when they come to an end.
Very glad that Shallow didn't ruin her chances. I'm proud that people voted for it for the final round. A classic!
Extremely impressive for Madonna, she outperformed my expectations!
Gaga really smashed it, that was never in doubt really. Well played mods, congrats!
Now we're coming for that AF Idol 4.0 win
Vogue only #14, just saw it now
I would've liked Madonna to win as a new winner and I made some great discoveries from her extensive back catalogue this time, though Lady Gaga ofc. delivered very well as well, grats x
Thanks for the running of this as always!
That performance for Like a Prayer I think it was the oldest song entered in the whole contest so amazing for it to smash so hard.
That lack of love for Vogue though
Well done Gaga mods, she really is THE Buzzjack fave
Thank you for running this, it was so fun again!
my favourite thing about gaga winning was the song choices, very inspired!
thank y’all for voting in your flocks and thank you to jay for carrying the results! it’s been once again thee most successful contest on buzzjack this year
zara deserved beans and you know that!!!!
would have preferred Madonna but alas
poor Vogue!!!
Gaga is a very deserving winner! Another great year for the contest!
Thanks for running it all so well.
We are continuing with AF Idol and Round 11 will be up shortly....
The theme will be "Tracks named after Buzzjack Members"
Shall I crown Madonna & her track 'Isaac' the win now orrr...????
Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed in any way they could. I do love this contest and it's only ever meant to be a bit of fun and to get more activity in the artist forums as well as to just generally take our minds off of things for a little while etc..
Congratulations to the Gaga moderators for another win. Maybe we should force you to send 'Come To Mama' and have an "Under appreciated bop" round next time.
I'm gonna find a way to send Bloody Mary
Omg ma GaGa did it, ooh lah laah, even after self-sabotaging by sending Shallow in the end, the only round wherw Kerth and I didn't vote foe ha Madonna and Britney sent bops. They did well to keep away from Micrpsoft Britney and to stick to her real sound, and to do it whilst sending more unusual choices.
Vogue at #14
😳🤔👀
Ah yes Naomi! Is that Naomi Campbell??
Elsewhere I said that even Million Reasons would've probably done the same as Shallow on round 10 lol. people really slept on Shallow compared to its status as a classic of our generation.
That said, the complete flopping of Vogue is still more bizarre.
But most of the big ballads are MOR Especially considering Gaga's versatility, it'd feel wrong to always send a certain type of pop song no matter how good they are.
Frozen by Madonna is a ballad and definitely not MOR and boring like Shallow.
Perfect Illusion >>>
Ah that's a shame I was rooting for Madge based on the songs sent.
While I obviously would prefer Spice Girls as the top group being my favourite group, Sugababes and Girls Aloud played an absolutely blinder in this competition so I can't fault them being above Spice Girls.
Gaga sent some of the best songs in the competition but I was genuinely perplexed at Alice coming first in that round, the beauty of difference in taste and opinion I guess.
Alice is amazing! Essily a no.1 smssh if she ever relessed it, and a sewuel to Tik Tok (What You Waiting For) (Explicit Version) by Gwen Stephanie.
Gwen Stephanie Germanotta is our #1 fave
