We might aswell have a topic for it.
So we know she has signed to Roc Nation on a management contract and that the album is nearly finished. We also know she has been working with the likes of Darkchild, Sia (i think) and now also Pharrell Williams.
http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a475838/kylie-minogue-working-with-pharrell-williams-for-new-album.html
Kylie has tweeted saying alot of the new stuff is perfect for the treadmill.
Needless to say, Kylie is gonna slay.

Can't wait, of course!
Really looking forward to this based on all the confirmed artists and sound. Seems to be a mash-up of dance and urban - perhaps something similar to Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' as that's a brilliant example that this combination works. Hopefully a couple 'Timebomb'-esque songs too as that was quite "treadmill" sounding.
She needs an album with more potential singles than last time.
Aphrodite had a few good potential singles, but they played it far too safe with the actual choices. Hopefully with Kylie doing something a bit different with the sound
of this album, that wont be such an issue.
Clip of a leaked demo (i think)
not from the new album apparantly. Shame.
I'd say 'All The Lovers', 'Get Outta My Way' and 'Aphrodite' were the only 3 strong single songs on there, 'Cupid Boy' was the only other possible viable choice at a push.
They need an album with as many killer singles as X, but with the consistency of Aphrodite.
Aphrodite had plenty of potential single choices but apart from the lead single, the record company released the wrong tracks and then abandoned the album too quickly. I'm sceptical about the new album. She has worked with a lot of different producers like with x but I just hope its more consistent than the x album.
I do like Aphrodite but outside of all the overs i don't think there was many strong single choices but better singles could have been picked to follow all the lovers but im not sure how they would have done.Cupid boy, Aphrodite and put your hands up may have done ok. I do agree the album was abandoned to quickly and the single release strategy and promotion was just awful.
I too am skeptical about the new album, lots of different producers could result in a a messy sound overall, while timebomb was ok i would not like the album to follow that direction. Hopefully i will be proven wrong, and additionally, i think Kylie should do 2 singles then launch the album on the third single. Another move i would like is to see the album get a deluxe release that sees a killer 4th single to promote it, Kylie has yet to release a deluxe album worth talking about and purchasing, many other acts are doing the deluxe versions to boost sales so she should do the same but do one that is value to fans and further a field.
I don't want to see a deluxe edition with songs that were clearly not considered good enough for the original album to be released jsut to get a few more sales.
I would like a deluxe if done right, i mean record songs for the deluxe for later use and not just necessarily use left overs, i have to agree kylie's deluxes have not been great, id go as far to say they were pointless so i rather see no deluxe than a pointless one. I think Kylie needs to pull out all the stops on this next project where be, 59p reduction on singles where possible, promote like hell, tie the releases strongly, ie promote on release and video out at same time, relatively quick single releases with phyisical and a deluxe album to follow later. The tides as such are against her ie radio may not fully be behind her so to get the sales her and her management need to pull out all the stops. I really want Kylie to get a hit or 2 of this new album and also for the album to do more than scrape platinum status.
Both aphrodite and especially x had so much more potential to have sold better than they did so im hoping they get it right this time.
Looking at the unreleased material, B-sides and bonus tracks from the X era, I think a deluxe version would have worked. There was a thread a couple of years ago about the rumours of an Aphrodite deluxe version and someone created a possible tracking list which looked really good. But I agree that perhaps a song especially recorded and released as a single would be in store for it to work properly.
No point in rushing everything for the first single at once, otherwise it would peak high and then bomb right out of the charts.
Well i dont see much point in promoting the single yet saying its not available for 2 weeks time, those scenarios lose sales, the promotion can be spread out i agree but apart from all the lovers her last few singles have had an extremely annoying release strategy and appeared half hearted.
I don't quite get how 'Aphrodite' is at all similar to 'Get Outta My Way'. Completely different style, tempo etc.
As i have often said Get outta my way was a disaster choice for a single and im not saying that because it under performed i say it in that the song wasnt strong enough to be a single, good album track but it was the wrong move, aphrodite which i think sounds nothing like get outta my way would have been a better choice.
Get outta my way was never single material and was a huge mistake from whoever selected it to be a single. It was a piss cheap carbon of Love at first sight that didnt work and it essentially killed the album campaign. Better than today was better but nothing great but the strategy behind it was awful, the release was scattered and it hindered its peak position. That said while the chart peak of both is miles apart better than today sold as good.
How does aphrodite sound like get outta my way, they dont sound in any way similar, i dont understand the comparisons at all.
The next album needs strong coherent single releases and it is essential they pick the right singles. I think Kylie herself became very aware that her strategy for singles that was once hugely successful does not work anymore and i would hope she and her new management team will work on that element of the campaign for album 12.
Couldn't agree more with all of this. Get Outta My Way sounded great in the megamix but the real thing was anticlimax central. The chorus is a complete damp squib! So cheaply produced with an underwhelming melody. No surprise it flopped, but Aphrodite wasn't loaded with potential singles. She probably would've released Illusion second.
Yes aphrodite had great songs but didnt have stand out singles which i hope is not the case with the new album,
Many albums are successful pre-deluxe but the deluxe rockets to different heights. Lady Gaga sold well before the deluxe but the deluxe sold more and likewise with Emeli Sande.
Aphrodite was not a big seller though and I doubt there was much interest in a re-release.
Do re-releases of flop/under-performing albums ever work? I'm trying to think of an example and, well, I can't.
Maroon 5 Hands all over really only became successful with the deluxe
Both David Guetta's album benefited hugely from re-releases as they had not sold overly strong pre the re-releases.
Chris Brown exclusive had totally bombed until the re-release
Atomic Kittens first album was the same
They are just a few albums that spring to mind but i am sure i will think of others. That said, the re-releases appear to only be successful if a new single is released to promote the re-release, run by Leona Lewis rocketed sales of spirit for Leona, Bad romance did it for Lady Gaga, so Kylie needs a have in a sense 2 killer lead singles if she was to really make a a success of the new album and a re-release.
Come on Over was never a flop at any point. It did well out of the gate.
The re-release of come on over from my memory is where it really started to sell in big numbers though.
I'd say with the cases of Maroon 5 and Atomic Kitten, they had extremely rare career saving smashes with the singles which boosted their albums (the ones which were tacked on to the existing albums, I don't believe 'Moves Like Jagger' was a part of that era before they did this). They were both as good as dead in the water before this.
Some of the more recent best selling albums would make you question if without deluxes would the sales be as good. Emeli Sande's deluxe version has sold more than the original. Bruno Mars doowops and hooligans got a great boost from the deluxe as did plus deluxe by Ed Sheeran. Granted these albums were successful beforehand but i would wonder would the sales have been as strong overall had the deluxes not been released.
They likely would have been. All those albums had sold well more than Aphrodite before their deluxe editions, added to the fact they were big names at the time.
Whats the point in having a killer lead single and then saving another one for a re-release? Makes more sense to have more than one killer single on the main album
rather than having to reply on a re release to sell.
Is the whole point that the fans go out and buy the album again so in essence they get double the sales from the fans and hope to grab the extra casual buyers, that is how i have viewed the deluxe thinking. I have no issue at all about purchasing deluxe album when they are worth purchasing, in my opinion the fame/fame monster by lady gaga was well worth purchasing a second time as was progress/progressed by Take That as both are examples of great value for money.
Most of the time it is 2 or 3 extra tracks and a different cover. Much as I love Kylie, I wouldn't buy the album again.
If it had 8-9 brand new tracks would you buy it?
Maybe, but thats nearly a whole album, why just waste the tracks on a re-release of an already flagging album?
I am not a massive fan of re-releases in any shape tbh, I'd rather have a killer album with single worthy tracks from the get go.
Aphrodite was not a good album imo, it just didnt click with me. Hopefully no re-releases, I want fresh material.
Kylie's never been one for re-releases, except for like special 'tour edition's which are limited releases so I'm sure we won't have to worry.
im split on re-releases but i have been a sucker in the past for a good re-release.
Re-releases can be a good thing. It depends whats on them. Gaga's first album was re-released and that was worth getting because it had 8 or 9 new songs on it but I hate it when record companies re-release an album with one or two new songs and a previously unreleased remix. Its just milking it and not fair on the fans who bought the first ediiton.
I see the point of when having 8-9 new songs why not just release a brand new album, i suppose for example a 1.6 million selling album appears a lot more impressive than 2 800,000 selling album. If Lady Gaga's sales were split between the fame and the fame monster the perception of how well it sold would have been weakened.
Kylie Minogue's new album to feature 'interesting' collaboration
Published: Monday, May 27 2013
By: Andy Joannou
Source: Digital Spy
Kylie Minogue's next album will reportedly feature an "interesting" collaboration.
The singer signed a new deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation earlier this year.
Omar Grant - who is part of the A&R division at Roc Nation - responded to a fan question on Twitter asking if Minogue's next record would feature a female collaboration.
He said that Minogue's new album will feature an 'interesting' collaboration, though did not clarify as to whether it would be a male or female.
Pharrell Williams recently confirmed that he has worked with Minogue on new material.
Darkchild, Stargate and Sia are also rumoured to have worked on the follow-up to 2010's Aphrodite.
Minogue has previously said that her new album is almost finished, and that she is doing something "different" for the record.
Hopefully not a collab with anybody signed to Roc Nation *cough*RitaOra*cough*
Kylie Minogue feat. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Kinda hoping its female. She hasn't had many female collabs.
i hope it's Rihanna or Maroon 5 or someone relevant in the US, and not some has been like Timbaland or Scissor Sisters or some wannabes like Rita Ora or Iggy Azalea, that would make her lose all her credibility....
I don't see how collaborating with the Scissor Sisters would make her lose credibility when she has done so many times in the past (unless you are just referring to Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea there).
To be honest, I could imagine a Rita Ora collab working if done right. Perhaps a ballad type? I know people have liked Rita's input on 'Lay Down Your Weapons' earlier this year. I love Iggy's music but I cannot imagine Kylie singing something like 'Work' or 'Bounce'! That said, I wouldn't mind a video of Kylie twerking... (oh, behave Liam! ).
The Pharrell song (or one of them) is called The Winners. Could be a duet. Apparently it sounds nothing like your typical Kylie track.
Rita Ora is the worst thing to happen to music in a LONG time. I would be absolutely furious if Kylie involved herself with that.
New leak - "Skirt"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qOm_xaLfWI
I dont really think the duet should be American based so she gets a hit there as in many senses that market is irrelevant to her. I would like the focus on her having a huge UK and Europe hit where she is best known and a huge hit that would sell the album. American success would be great but i dont think it should be in any way the focus market.
Pharrell seems to be hot property all round at the moment, so that could be a big help to her.
I can't listen to 'Skirt' until I get home. These things always happen while I'm at work, so bloody annoying!
It should be noted that Skirt is just a remix. I can't make my mind up on the production (it's not very Kylie but certainly quite bold) but the chorus seems like it will be a winner.
Whether thats a remix of Skirt or not it is fantastic, the 'down' parts better be in the original version because they are crazy good.
Oh now I'm reading that it's not actually a remix. Buzz track apparently. 8/10.
Is it definitely going to be on the album?
That sounds really good!
And happy birthday to Kylie!
It does say 'dub version' in the title, so perhaps it's not the exact, official version? That said, when I listened to the 'dub version' of Madonna's 'Everybody', I heard no difference between that the original.
If it is official, I do hope it is only a buzz track as the way 'Skirt' sounds at the moment, it's not strong enough to be a single.
Shirk is fabulous though I find the arrangement a bit over the place.
There's an article about it on Digital Spy: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a484965/kylie-unveils-new-track-skirt-to-celebrate-44th-birthday-listen.html
First thing I noticed is that they are claiming today is her 44th birthday. Still, I'm sure Kylie doesn't mind pretending to be a year younger.
Skirt is amazing that beat is mindblowing.
I've just listened to 'Skirt', great meaty dance track although I'm sure that's not the original version of it. It's going straight on my playlist for when I go to Ibiza next month though!
I've given 'Skirt' several more listens. Still don't it is very likely to be the final version, but it's really grown on me, especially everything after about 1:15. I can tell a final version is going to fit in perfectly with the "tread-mill" theme of this album and that I'll end up loving it! Can hear a few 'Timebomb' influences.
Photoshoots:
One making their way into my signature.
After a third listen I'm properly into this now.
sounds like a remix to me from Lake. Think a slightly faster dancier feel for the orginal. love it
I'm really loving this. May even enter my chart.
I dont hate Rita Ora but she certainly would not be on the list of people who i would like Kylie to duet with.
The chorus to this is actually so anthemic, it didn't hit me immediately but it's glorious.
Also do the synths remind anyone else of 'Right Now' by Rihanna? Not that it's a detriment to this song though.
Didn't actually expect much from Skirt but it's got a great, fairly subtle but incredibly melodic chorus. And the rest of the song has loads of different stuff going on too. Not too drastic a change in direction, it's like an updated version production wise of something that might have featured on Body Language.
Just came across Skirt, I think its a grower, need to listen to it a few times though
Because she's superhuman.
I think its the lovin' she gets from that Spanish HUNK she is dating.
Kylie is one of those people who seem to get hotter with age.
I'm desperately hoping same happens to me!
I bet you'll look AMAZING in a tight dress at 45
I was not aware of that factoid liam
Thanks Calum babes <3
Seems that the possible Sia collaboration will be called 'Beautiful People Say'. There was a demo leaked which Sia sung the vocals and was allegedly going to be produced by David Guetta, but she claimed she wrote it for a "pop artist".
http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/a-new-sia-song-she-wrote-for-a-pop-artist-has-appeared-online/115284/
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a485831/sia-reacts-to-leaked-song-beautiful-people-a-days-work-wasted.html
It's quite a leap to assume the pop artist in question is Kylie... I doubt it seeing as there was no talk whatsoever of Kylie working with Guetta.
Apparantly Kylie has been working with Timbaland too: http://idolator.com/7463733/kylie-minogue-timbaland
TBH, if we get a 4 Minutes sounding song, I can die happy
Jay-Z might be doing a rap for Kylie: http://scoobyscoobz.com/rumour-haz-it-kylie-minogue-to-collaborate-with-jay-z-on-new-record/
Since it's not mentioned anywhere, I've seemed to have dreamed about rumours of a Lady Gaga and Kylie collaboration.
Of course *you* do.
Well its official that Sia and Kylie are working together
I think album 12 is going to be one of those love or hate albums with all the different people working on it. It most certainly will be an interesting release by the looks of it.
whatever they make, I'm sure it'll be fantastic.
I hope that will be the result, i want something fantastic but basing on what skirt sounds like i am worried it wont be as i think skirt is dreadful.
This album is going to be amazing. Its great to see Kylie experiment with her sound and work with different people.
Working with Sia has the potential to be AMAZING. Mind you, the woman did also write Ne-Yo's 'Let Me Love You' so who knows...
I am nervous about this album, nervous in that i really dont know what to expect, but my gut feeling is this album is going to be a mixture of km94 and body language but some beats added, so in other words i hope my gut feeling is wrong.
Surely the fact we don't know what to expect is a good thing? Kylie has been avery samey in terms of her music for a while now, shaking things up is good.
If it does sound like a KM94/BL mix then i will be happy since they are two of my fave Kylie albums.
She needs to produce Red Blooded Woman, Pt. II, then it doesn't matter what the rest of the album sounds like *.*
I'm fairly certain this will be a dance driven album.
Something more heavier dance than put your hands up could be good.
HITLER IS NOT HAPPY
Oh lordy...
Behind the scenes of a photoshoot, apparantly to do with the album
1st single photoshoot? (please!)
Whatever its for, she looks fierce (and mighty)
Kylie better releases her new album as soon as possible before a possible rerun of WW2!!
Didn't know where to put this, but Digital Spy says the first single features Brooke Candy, a US rapper:
Never thought much of her myself, and she doesn't seem the type of rapper that would go with Kylie at all IMO. She is recording her feature this week though apparently.
Yep, Brooke confirmed it on Twitter yesterday it seems. She's recording her verse on Wednesday in London.
I'm sceptical, but I'll try and keep an open mind.
Oooo interesting.
I too am skeptical about this album. I sense this album could be marketed towards an American audience, which is a crazy move. UK, Europe and Australia are her markets and she needs to maximize those markets and remain relevant as she will never be household name in America now.
On the bright side, if they've picked out a single and she's just got to record her verse for it that means we should be hearing something very soon!
I pray to God that we hear Kylie drop an F-bomb or two in this tbh.
I am fairly sure there will be a solo version, so people like vidcapper won't lose sleep over there being a Kylie + Rapper single.
Don't think I've heard any of Brooke Candy's material, but it's nice to know Kylie including someone unknown rather than someone obvious like Pitbull or Jay-Z (although a Jay-Z collab could be reasonably likely considering his record label manages her).
Really don't like the sound of this. Brooke Candy is an Amercian rapper...sounds like they are trying to do the same thing that Madonna did with MDNA and it failed miserably with her. I'm not sure if I will support it. Kylie and rap just doesn't go.
Kylie Minogue confirms tour plans: "Hell yeah!"
Friday Jul 26 2013
By Sam Rigby
Kylie Minogue has confirmed plans to embark on a new tour.
The singer - who is set to release her 12th studio album later this year - revealed that she hopes to head out on tour again next year, The Mirror reports.
Asked if she will take the new album out on the road, she said: "Hell yeah!
"I don't know when but maybe next year. I always love the idea - touring for me is the best."
It will be Minogue's first major tour since 2011's 'Aphrodite: Les Folies' tour, which included five nights at London's O2 Arena as well as a successful North American leg.
She has since played a limited number of intimate shows as part of last year's 'Anti Tour', which saw her perform a selection of rarities, B-sides and album tracks.
The star's 2014 tour is expected to include legs in the UK, Europe and the 45-year-old's native Australia. However, it is not yet known if dates are planned in the US.
Minogue teased new material with the release of buzz single 'Skirt' back in May.
There's also no plans of a Jay-Z collaboration, confirmed by Kylie herself. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/celebrity/kylie-minogue-planning-world-tour-2091221
I kinda wanted a Jay-Z collab and STILL waiting for that Justin Timberlake collab tbh.
Heard about the tour when I was heading back home from le holiday. Definitely going to try and book tickets! *.*
Darkchild talking about the new album:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a502727/darkchild-talks-kylie-minogue-new-album-its-a-different-sound.html
Love that picture.
HMMM
Oh. Is she gonna be rappin'? eek.
Kylie? Doubtful Brooke, more than likely.
I was referring to Brooke. Soz for le confusion bb.
It just occurred to me that Burn would have been the perfect comeback single for Kylie, her vocals on it would have sounded even better than Ellie's!
I do not want Kylie releasing a Leona Lewis reject, thank you. Besides, Burn is shit.
Burn is shit?
You wouldn't be saying that if it was Kylie's comeback single!
I probably would.
I do like 'Burn', but yeah if Kylie came back with it I wouldn't be overly enthused. She is capable of greatness way beyond that.
Burn's alright, but it's nothing special. I don't think Kylie can work with shit songs.
"Burn" is forgettable shit. It doesn't even have a Kylie-esque sound to it.
Kylie has apparantly done 2 songs with will.i.am http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/kylies-apparently-recorded-two-songs-with-will-i-am-for-her-new-album/123068/
They better make it on the album, just to see the meltdown of some of her fans when they hear them.
He can produce OK stuff sometimes, if he remains silent on them and they're good tracks I may be able to live with it.
If he sings (or TALKS rather) on any of these, I'm out.
I actually like alot of will's songs, whether he sings on them or not, and it will be interesting to hear what he does with her.
I like a fair few will.i.am tracks (his Black Eyed Peas songs are SO much better though) but I'm still a little sceptical.
Well at least 15% of the album will be unlistenable if these 2 tracks make the final cut.
Kylie will debut some new music in March: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a543666/kylie-minogue-to-debut-new-music-at-priceless-gig-in-march.html#ixzz2qNM1Fhva
The dress is gorgeous!
Album is allegedly titled "Jump". Out March 17th. Single one week earlier I would guess.
Not a particularly great title but I suppose it's going to suit the mood of the album.
I like it a lot. Pop songs about jumping are usually pretty good.
im kinda sceptical of this album so far, from the material we have heard and some of the producers i have a feeling a body language style album is on the way but the music for a gym ststement by kylie givrs me hope.I really dont want another r and b style album, either way i will buy it to keep the collection going and support her but i hope its an album il be buying because i like it.
So this appeared on her fb:
Album cover? Video pic? Just another promo pic?
Where are you getting that from?
From that image I'm not too sure on how much I'd like it as an album cover. I'll wait until it's fully revealed to judge though.
I need not reminding of possibly the worst album I ever had the misfortune of hearing.
Album is called Kiss Me Once.
Cover art revealed:
Very nice. I like that title too.
Dreadful photo. She looks like road kill.
Very sexy roadkill.
Loving that cover! And the title is fab as well <3
Excellent cover and title, so pop! Can't wait!
Really not sure about that artwork. It looks more like she's dead (although still good looking) than going in for a kiss.
Oh my god, her hair is horrendous.
You can hardly see her hair in the cover though.
She should have kept one eye open.
I love the cover
Has a release date been confirmed yet?
Not sure how to take that cover, it probably grow on me, I love the title of the album though
Im the same i dont know if the like the cover or not, but i do like the title.
Bad cover, OK title

Sexercize?
No that can't be real
Yep, it's real.
Lots of sex on this album.
Guess you're pleased then
Guessing this is where SR got the tracklist from. I love the sound of the tracks. Full on SLUTLIE. No Brooke Candy though, boo.
Here for Sexcercise *.*
OMG 'Sexercize', totally here for that
Kylie and Enrique collab YES *.* This album's gonna be amazing
''I Was Gonna Cancel'' is my favourite title!
I forgot all about the Brooke Candy thing.
It wasn't so much a rumour though, a few months ago she confirmed on Twitter she had recorded a verse for Kylie's new single so it's bizarre to not even see her on the album. Not complaining though.
Brooke was being mentored by Sia and word is they fell out. Sia exec producing Kylie's album = no Brooke Candy on there.
Just relaying what I heard!
Am I the only one who was amused by 'Les Sex'? I know it's terribly immature but immediately I thought it was Kylie's ode to intercourse between women.
Kylies track 'Feels So Good' is actually a cover (with an update) of Tom Aspauls 'Indiana'
I love Indiana and think Kylie's vocals will look great
Les Sex.... = Lesbian Sex and I am pretty sure this is the track that Brook Candy will rap on??
"My President" & "Sleeping with the enemy" sounds interesting songs...
It's Mr President, not My President.
Album up for pre-order now.
Kylie and Sia are executive producers for the album.
I Was Gonna Cancel confirmed as the Pharrell track. Sia wrote Kiss Me Once, Ariel Rechtshaid 'If Only', MNEK 'Feels So Good' and Greg Kurstin did Sleeping With The Enemy.
Oh my an MNEK track and a Sia track? Here's hoping the Sia track is like Perfume/Diamonds/Cannonball, one of them at least!
I can imagine Kylie singing that actually.
Physicals for the album are up for pre-order on the Parlophone store website.
Standard CD
Special Edition CD/DVD
12" Vinyl
Vinyl Box Set.
http://kylie.parlophonestore.co.uk/en/kiss-me-once.html
The album is doing very very well on iTunes pre-orders (across the world) .... I know its not CD sales but good to get some pre-orders bulking up 1st week sales on 17th March.....
Into the Blue lead single is also doing very well with hardly any promo just buzz.... once released to radio everywhere could do very well....
Some cringy song titles are included on the tracklisting. I hope the songs sound better than their names. I'm also surprised skirt isnt included.
The Japanese album will feature 2 bonus songs called voodoo and golden boy.
Sky Ferreira is apparantly one of the writers for Voodoo.
'Sexercise' *.*
New promo pic
pwetty
Gorgeous.
Her hair is almost as flawless as Amy Adams' <3
Is sleeping with the enemy going to be on the Japanese deluxe? Its not included on the tracklist but it says bonus track TBC. There are two new songs on the Japanese edition which are not included on Uk deluxe.
This new piccie appears on her itunes page:
gorgeous.
Oh what a real beauty.
She has a banner advertising the album and some Valentine's Day picks she did on itunes, should get her a few more pre-orders.
yet it has. Back up to the 140-160 area on iTunes album chart. peaked at 10 on day of release. but we know downloads don't count for much... maybe around 500 sales so far?
the £45 limited edition has been increased from 2.5 to 3.5k so that must have sold well. Vinyl selling some. A lot of people download/buy from her website too so we really don't know those pre-order sales... Amazon and play.com now have both on pre-order....
I can see her with already at least 5-6k over pre-orders and that would already near enough give her a top 10 album, so don't worry the album will chart well.... the one thing worrying me is George Michael's comeback on the same week and the Elvis Presley album who will always sell well. but I cannot see her not going top 5 on the week of release.
George Michael's is a live album isn't it? I'm sure he won't provide too much of a threat.
I'm sure this will be a #1 album, especially in this dire sales climate.
is it? don't know I think it is selling well so far... but who knows... We all know Kylie fans love physicals so hopefully they are waiting to pick it up at the local supermarket. I think the demise of HMV may hurt her a little too.... but it hurts everyone I guess.
I think her own website is where a lot of purchases will be made and hoping for both big pre-orders for single and album there.
Paloma Faith releasing 10th March and Sam Bailey 24th March so the gap is there
I'm pretty sure George Michael's new album is a studio album, and I think that did better initially on pre-orders when it was added than Kylie. I'd like to hope Kylie does better as I think she's more relevant than George is, although George usually has big first week sales.
Apparently the wiki stated that it is a new album from George Michael called "Symphonica".
Les Sex was performed live last night.
Les hands on les legs. Yaaassss.
If the whole album is as good as this and 'Into The Blue' it is going to be amaaaazingggg! So stoked.
Les Sex is amazing from the sound of that. <3
Don't think "les sex" is anything amazing. Sounds a bit boring to be honest.
I thought you'd say something like that.
I can't stop listening to it, I need the studio version of this in my life!
Wow, 'Les Sex' does sound good from that performance! Very catchy already.
Les Sex sounds good and probably my faveourite from the album so far, the enrique duet i a finding disappointing and into the blue i like but dont think it is anything great which in all is making me doubt id like the album but Les Sex is giving me hope, as i want to enjoy the album when it comes.
Popjustice just posted a track by track review:
http://www.popjustice.com/briefing/kylie-minogue-kiss-me-once-review/124444/
Hmm, thought they'd be more complimentary not bad though, sounds quite good from that I guess.
I suppose it's a good thing that they think there's better tracks than 'Into the Blue' as generally everyone on Buzzjack loves that. From this review, I'm getting the impression this album could be similar to X in terms of there being a handful of highlights with a few alright tracks (and perhaps amazing songs that didn't make the final cut).
Clips are here!
Sounds a bit dull in places but Les Sex, Sexercise, I Was Gonna Cancel, Fine and If Only sound fab to me *.*
Sounds GOOOOOOOD, not amazing though.
If Only *.* Sexercise *.*
'Sexy Love' and 'If Only' sound AMAZING
The middle three songs are meh from the first listen, and I will definitely skip "Beautiful" as the vocoder sounds TOO annoying.
The rest is amazing, obvious singles should be "Million Miles", "Les Sex" & "I was gonna cancel".
The title track is brilliant, and Fine is amazing.
The highlights sound like Fine, Feels So Good, Beautiful and possibly Sexercize. Les Sex sounds really flat on record. Overall it has an unfortune Aphodite vibe, ie. a little too safe.
'Sexercize' sounds like a horrific mess!
'Feels So Good' sounds pretty amazing, I agree 'Les Sex' doesn't sound quite as good here as the vocals aren't as lively in the chorus as in the live version.
I'm still excited for the whole album and will see how it is in full...
Sexercise feels like a Nu-Di-Ty moment for me, most people hate it but I adore it
I don't really want dubstep influence in Kylie's music.
Dubsteplie *.*
For me, it's like having X II but this version is better.
Kylie's handwriting isn't so good - I misread 'If Only' as 'Honey'.
I do like the sound of 'Les Sex', I think that will be my favourite (aside from 'Into the Blue') I think 'Sexercize' will sound good in full.
It is quite a safe album and not much of a step away from Aphrodite which I was expecting back when 'Skirt' premiered, but I think I'll still enjoy it.
4th listen to the sample and they are all growing... even Sexy Love I am loving now.....
stand out favourites are
Feel So Good, Les Sex, Million Miles, Fine, Into The Blue, I Was Gonna Cancel
need more listens - Kiss Me Once, If Only and Sexercise
I know I am biased but I actually love it!!
Big headphones on... volume up high.... sounds quality!!!
Heard the clips a couple of times. Bit of a mixed bag. I can see the comparison to X. I'm afraid this era is shaping up to be a disappointment for me compared to Aphrodite.
I really cannot understand how people think Aphrodite was soooooo good? The best song by far was Get Outta My Way, the rest was pop but throw away. All the lovers only did well because of all the promo and the lead single....
This album to me is really current, great beats, great sound, Kylie sounds high quality and very polished.
It really boils down to personal taste, get outta my way would be one of the weakest tracks on aphrodite for me where all the lovers would rate among one of Kylies best singles ever for me, i dont think all its success was down the promo and that it was a lead single i think the song just caught on with people and thats why its ended up one of her bigger selling singles all round.
I haven't listened to the previews of the new album, i heard the clip of les sex and i have heard the 2 singles but i have decided to wait until the album is released until i listen to the others as it will be something to look forward to, but what fro what i have heard so far i have mixed feelings and im not sure what kind of album to expect.
I will probably get mauled for saying this but from the material i have heard so far i dont think it will an album that will do anything extra for Kylie, i had hoped that Kylie was gonna come back with a bang with this album but i think the best we can hope for is an era of the same success as aphrodite. I do think she needed a stronger lead singe than Into The Blue, while i like it i dont think it screams huge hit at all. I do hope im wrong, im a long term fan and love to see her do well but for me from what i have heard there is some Kylie magic missing, now that could also mean that the people who usually dont buy Kylie may do so this time.
And i will also say i have only heard 3 tracks so the rest of the album could be killer tracks for me, if the album does have strong tracks it is essential the right singles are picked and not have a repeat of X where 2 potential big hits never happened.
Longer clips that include the bonus tracks: https://soundcloud.com/kyliefancommunity
Sleeping With The Enemy sounds divine
It sounds much better than I was hoping for "If Only", "Les Sex" and "I Was Gonna Cancel" sound amazing.
Ooh and "Sexy Love!"
Ooh and "Fine!"
Anyone else getting Sensitized vibes from Sexercise?
I don't really see the similarity between the two songs, not to mention 'Sensitized' is far superior.
From now on, I would resist listening to those clips until the album comes out...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWkV44Rzln4
Masterclass Priceless gig and she performed in a gym, so cute.
I would scream "MISS KYLIE MINOGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
That guy in the video is just too polite.
I should go to gyms then
That fan has amazing thighs. woof.
The photoshoot is out and about now. Some really gorgeous pics, some....not so gorgeous.
Just seen the Vinyl limited edition Looks amazing!
It looks awfully cheap to me. Nothing all that noteworthy for the price.
Back cover and the CD
VERY nice!
It's all very Body Language on the back isn't it? Lovely.
Hopefully, this era is bigger than BL. Haha there needs to be a Kylie Show part ll, such an entertaining special! I just don't like Sexercise. Sounds a little cheap, but it seems like Nu-di-ty part ll to me
Except in 2007 you didn't get pop artists making cheap dubstep-lite horrors.
Nu-di-ty with dubstep influences would be......*.*
Sexercize doesn't sound cheap.
The red dress photo is just gorgeous, others are just meh.
Love the back cover and disc designs!
I wasn't tempted by the £45 edition box, but I'm really looking forward to owning the CD/DVD deluxe. *.*
Just pre ordered the vinyl box set and CD single art card bundle. The costs I go to for Kylie.
Do we think these CD and vinyl bundles are classed as two separate sales? I mean, not as though they are cheap.
...just looked on the OCC's website and box sets are counted as one sale ;-(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGA2wE-eGMM
She did "Into the blue", then took a selfie with a lucky fan.
had a few listens to the album sampler and by the sound of it the album is body language part 2 which is a huge disappointment for me, im not liking the kiss me once era at all so far and really had hoped for a stronger return.
The Guardian is streaming the whole album: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2014/mar/10/kylie-minogue-kiss-me-once-album-stream
Meh, I found the album a bit bland on the first listen, will take a few more listens to be a grower on me. Only "Million Miles", "I was gonna cancel" & "Les Sex" have single potential. "If only" & "Fine" are brilliant!
I will definitely cancel "Beautiful" on my spotify playlist.
YASSS Slaylie, QUEEN, SLAY, AMAZING
Album of the decade.
After one play through.

Second half is so much stronger. It's a fantastic companion piece to X.
I Was Gonna Cancel and Beautiful are the only ones I am not totally sold on. If Only is a pure 12/10 moment.
I love "Beautiful"... bar the dodgy autotune trying to make it sound like their trying to harmonise.
I'll be listening to the album in full later tonight but I've had 'Les Sex' on repeat since I go back home. I reckon this is going to be my favourite album track, loved it ever since that live performance.
09 Into The Blue

Overall, it's okay but a definite disappointment for a Kylie album. To me, a lot of the material is inoffensive and nice, but none of it has completely wowed me. I can see some of the songs growing on me more, but as an overall album, it doesn't leave much of an impression. Sorry Kylie
I liked the album. It's safe and nice and she knows no point in making the Rihanna or Katy Perry style of music because at 45, she doesn't attract that kind of audience anymore anyway. This album doesn't break any barriers or anything, but comes across as a mature pop/dance effort. It's not embarrassing like MDNA was, and not wannabe as well.
My favourites are the PWL'y title track and album closer Fine. I also loved "Feels so good". The most disappointing was "Sexercise" because the clips made it sound so much promising, but looks like all the good bits of the song were delivered in the clip itself. To me it's a posher more well structured Nudity.

The choruses of 'If Only' and 'Kiss Me Once' are PERFECTION And I regret ever saying 'Sexercize' was weak - after a few listens it is fantastic!
If Only really is just stunning, by far the best thing she has done in years. YASS Kylie.
"Sexy love" has that "Feel so good" vibe (the one by Atomic Kitten).
Cohesive doesn't always mean better quality. Aphrodite is a good album but it can get a bit dull and repetitive. The reason I adore X and KMO so much is because of their
general lack of cohesiveness.
Aphrodite is cohesive but some of the songs aren't as strong, I do love listening to that album in the summer though.
Did I say I won't listen to the album until it actually comes out?
10 Into the Blue
09 Million Miles
11 I Was Gonna Cancel (Can't get enough of it!)
09 Sexy Love
06 Sexercize
07 Feels So Good
11 If Only
08 Les Sex
10 Kiss Me Once (Brilliant but I kinda have a Christmas feeling from the song)
00 Beautiful
08 Fine
It's a strong grower overall. Hopefully it will have steady chart run but provided that her record company wants to ruin the album with that terrible duet, I don't hold much hope.
Sleeping With The Enemy and Mr President are now out there too.
I am seriously loving this album.
I was Gonna Cancel and Les Sex are early faves but all of it is great. Just a slight lean towards rnb and it has made a welcome change. Still resolutely Kylie but not as pop as Aphrodite. The songs are definitely stronger sonically. A really solid quality collection.
The only minor gripe I have is the at times sqeaky, girly vocals. She can do better but think it would put off casual fans.
What does everyone think of "Mr President"?
For some reason, "Sexy Love" has that "Feel so good" vibe (her version, not AK) and "Kiss me once" feels like a Christmas song with the jingle bell sound.
By the way, she did a session on Spotify.
1. Can't get you out of my head
2. Into the blue
3. Kiss me once
4. Beautiful
I received her CD this morning. All pictures are great, but I miss song lyrics. They should have left two sides of pictures and add lyrics instead.
A little underwhelmed on first listen, hopefully it'll all grow on me soon.
"I Will Cancel" for single two
Regina, stop being a pedantic twat everytime somebody makes a typo. You're spoiling threads for people.
In other news "Feels so Good" is ridiculously amazing and has that cool spring-summer vibe (as well as being something a bit different for Kylie) that would make it the perfect second single.
Jark, I don't appreciate your tone, consider this a polite warning.
I find Regina amusing, tbh. Then again, I'm not everywhere on Buzzjack.
#1 on Aussie itunes
Woop.
The deluxe edition is only £9 on asda direct website but its out of stock at present meaning you can't order it.
i really hope the album can give her a 6th number 1 album.
Gone straight to #1 on iTunes, with a second version at #25. George Michael's album is #2 and #20.
I hope she can hold off George Michael for number 1.
George Michael will sadly win this battle, unless the Kylie promo etc goes really well... just announced a tour which gets headlines too so you never know...
the MP3 of Kiss Me once is only 6.99 on Sainsbury's!!
just seen the TV album advert and Sainsbury's are backing it... it is very good promo for ITB still to.....
I'm calling #3 and 32k for the album.
What else is going to sell that much this week aside from Kylie and George Michael?
Elbow theoretically could, but yeah it's unlikely. I had expected them to come in north of 50k this week.
Thankfully this is a LOT better than the clips suggested (that'll teach me), I honestly like the whole album aside from 'Sexercize' and 'Beautiful' (which is a reasonable enough song aside from the really grating vocodered bits).
Highlights are (in order): Into The Blue (obvs), Sexy Love, Les Sex, Feels So Good, I Was Gonna Cancel, Fine, Million Miles
'Sexy Love' is a MUST for single release, and why is 'Sleeping With The Enemy' not on the main album? That was a silly decision.
So yeah, pleased with this. It's not an amazing album and is quite "business as usual" for Kylie but not a disappointment and I'm sure it'll grow on me more.
It's an earsore, although not as bad as the clip suggested.
YOU are an earsore. You and your words.
Turn your face into the sun, sun, sun
Actually, the album is growing on me a bit more. I listened to it in tracklist order and probably didn't give it my 100% attention. I usually like albums so much more when I go back afterwards and individually listen to the ones I liked most and then the others.
I never listen to albums in the right order, well, not often. I much prefer to just set it to shuffle. I aways enjoy it more that way.
Anyone adding Skirt to their KMO tracklist?
Oh, I'm actually rather liking Beautiful now in proper HQ... The vocoder bits are a shame though, I actually think it would be my favourite on the album without the effect
Oh I forgot about the bonus tracks!
Stunning return. Love the album!
Love it! Such a classic feelgood/melancholy Kylie album. Loving "Fine" and "If Only" on first few listens, I think "Fine" with a radio edit and possibly a (Freemasons?) remix would be a good second single and Voice performance song.
Something related to 'Sexercize':
http://www.popsirens.com/watch-kylie-minogue-roman-coppola-team-sexercize-short/
Is there any conformation that sexercise is the next single?
What do you think Kylie's chances are of number 1 album this week? George Michael is looking like a massive threat now
I think she stands a good chance, can't call it at this stage though.
Thankfully 'Sexercize' is not the second single, it's just a side project thingy she shot a video for. 'Beautiful' is the definite second single (not that that's much better).
Beautiful will flop hard, why they are going this route is totally over my head. The record company need to take note off the reviews and fans opinions,if they did they would clearly know this is not the route to go.
She won't get hit singles at this stage anyway, I suppose they're relying on the fact it's a collaboration (not that it'll work).
I just hope they don't halt the campaign at two singles.
Album is number 2 around 2,000 behind George Michael.
Awww, that's a shame, and it will only fall further behind but it's still a good result, seeing as neither Body Language or X went top three. Aphrodite was led with a MUCH stronger single and in a quieter week.
It should sell around 30-32k this week. Gah. Hopefully the Voice promo stabilises things in week three.
Whoever decided to save all the big promo for April should be shot.
She said in an interview.... one single very soon (into the blue) and one later in the summer...... Beautiful will be Enrique single and she will benefit from all the promo/free video etc...... and Sexercise just a buzz vid.... There is still longevity in Into The Blue yet.... believe me....
Beautiful is a joint single for them though, hers as much as his.
Yes I know....
but I mean it is his song....... she is duetting on it and it is on her album, but it is his song and therefore she gets the best of both worlds and another hit...
It wont be a hit
If they sing it on the Voice on 29th March then it has a chance of getting some sales and if remixed by Cedric Gervais etc and a sexy video....
Not that impressed with kiss me once. There are some good tracks but a lot of tracks which I don't care much for and I feel she has lost something with this album.
I'm foaming at the mouth. *.*
HOT video. Daaaaamn!
Still can't warm to that song though.
This campaign is starting to crumble before it starts. The promotion is not in sync at all and as a result the album is going to lose out on number 1, bad single strategies will result in no major hit and a disconnect in album sales. Four years waiting and returns with a shambolic release and promotion strategy is extremely underwhelming and bitterly disappointing.
How about enjoying the music instead? Kylie has been in the industry 26 years. She's endured flops more catastrophic than this in that time, and some of those were among her very best work. Ultimately she has nothing to prove anymore, and anyway this campaign is not DOA. She's still getting a #2 album, performing the next single on The Voice, unleashing a bunch of videos, belatedly starting promo. No need to go into panic mode just yet.
It's like a Parlo version of Impossible Princess and we all know that is her finest work.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM. Not sure where I'd rank it amongst her other ones as I've not heard them all, and I've not listened to the ones I have heard in quite a while (plus it's a bit too early for that right now I guess), but it's a VERY strong and consistent album for the most part. Into the Blue, Sexy Love and If Only are my highlights, not sure what else as nothing stands out massively to me, but as a whole it's very enjoyable. Beautiful is a crap choice for single 2 though, it's gonna do absolutely nothing...
Ps. "Sleeping With The Enemy" is lush!
Apparantly 9,000 behind George Michael now.
gotta laugh about it haven't you?
Very comfortably #2, so that's pleasing!
The video for 'Sexercize' has helped boost my opinion on the song, to be honest I'd go as far as saying it would make a good single!
'Sleeping with the Enemy' reminds me slightly of Emeli Sande's 'Heaven' in terms of the beat.
You made pretty much the same comment in the Sunday Chart thread, I just don't see the point in saying it everywhere you go.
Calum getting a ban tbh. Singling you out x
She performed Into the Blue, Les Sex and Sexercize on Le Grand Journal yesterday.
http://www.canalplus.fr/c-divertissement/c-musique/pid5065-live-du-grand-journal.html?vid=1039793
'If Only' is proving to be a real grower for me now!
Another Sexercise video
Really like this album, think it could become my fave Kylie album! If Only is such a gem!
http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/moments-the-new-kylie-minogue-music-video-made-me-question-m
I felt the same tbh, briefly
Sia's tweet though
Sweet, Kylie never leaves the gay fans alone.
If only is definitely one of the stronger tracks on the album. Is sexercise the next single? I notice a video has been released of the track.
She only almost gives me what I wanted from this album in 'Fine'.
The rest of the album is basically filler material. [bar Les Sex - new Nu-Di-Ty]
Sexercise is not the single, she is just releasing a bunch of videos for it. Beautiful is the next single.
The album is £4.99 on Amazon downloads and she shot up to number 2 on mp3 sales... and all the top albums got reduced to £4.99
OMG the promo is kicking in
Good News on the Ticket sales front!
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a559039/kylie-minogue-ticket-demand-reaches-five-year-high.html?utm_source=twt&utm_medium=snets&utm_campaign=twitter
Will be another case of waiting for the DVD here for me, no funds
I tried for tickets today and couldn't get.... I will be there tomorrow morning for London!!!!!!!!
and regarding The Voice Promo........ there hasn't been any yet because the pre-recordings where done in Nov and January..... before album and lead song announced etc...it will come!!
He is the National Geographic interpretation of Sexercize! wonder what the Daily Mail readers will make of this one?
http://www.sexercize.tv/#/national_geographic
Think 'Sexcersize' my new fave on the album the video has made it stand out, 'Fine' is fab though would love that as a single
*prepares for backlash* Mr President is the single that could make this era. *steps back*
Into The Blue 1.8m you tube views in 9 weeks........... Sexercize 1.1m views in less than 2 days......
Officially #1 in Aus according to one of my tumblr followers
Hope this news is true. Will believe it when I see it officially.
Hoping number 1 on the Australia Artists Chart isn't being reported.
#4 in Ireland.
Flop.
Number 4 is totally fine, from looking up some chart placings her albums have not always reached top 10 status in Ireland, so Top 5 is good.
Her highest charting album in Ireland since 'Fever'.
Sales must be at an all time low. Still an impressive stat I suppose!
How many copies behind George Michael? I think the gap is more than 10K now.
Sexercise has really grown thanks to the video actually! Quite a quotable song 'feel the burn'
Top 5 sales on Friday's midweek:
1 George Michael * (38,523)
2 Kylie Minogue * (22,694)
3 Pharrell Williams (11.8k)
4 Elbow (11.6k)
5 Paloma Faith (11.1k)
Hoping it can break 30k. Sports Relief might help.
MY GOD 16K gap!! Wow!!
#10 in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile 'Into the Blue' didn't chart here at all
Album is probably gonna drop like a stone next week.
really pleased with the irish position, aphrodite peaked at number 5 here so kiss me once has managed a higher peak.
Only 22K... sales is a bit disappointing...
Yes the sales are very underwhelming. Thought she would sell double. She has been working very hard to promote but press interviews aren't the same as appearing on chat shows to sing or talk about the album. The Voice filming commitments in Aus must be draining. How does she cope with those flights. That said, her profile is super high and so that will give her more opportunities to keep the album in the spotlight on prime time TV for much longer.
Kiss Me Once currently number 1 on Amazon mp3 at 4.99....
I am hoping she can sneak 30k but probably 27-28k
still hopefully The Voice Promo will keep it top 10 next week.
Looks like Kylie WILL be performing on The Voice UK tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her dancer just tweeted Dancing on @BBCTheVoiceUK very soon, feeling nervous but very excited #Sexercize #IntoTheBlue
Kiss me once is unlikely to shift 50% of the amount Aphrodite did in its first week and given her high profile on the voice and change of management, I think its pretty underwhelming. I'd be interested for someone to clarify the first week sales for her other Parlophone studio albums. I think they were something like this;
Light Years 42K
Fever 140K
Body Language 69K
X 84K
Aphrodite 80K
I did my good deed by reminding one of my friends that it's out, and he bought it last night.
Slaylie strikes again
The 'Sexercise' video completely got me. I thought the song was very 'meh' but it has made me fall in love with it completely. It definitely has something in the vibe which is similar to the likes of 'Slow' and 'Chocolate'
Wasn't sure where to put this but I presume this is from the Kiss Me Once sessions so I'll stick it here.
'Golden Boy' is one of the exclusive vinyl records available for Record Store Day 2014: http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/record-store-day-2014-all-607-exclusive-releases-revealed-2836/
Hi Guys
I have been reading all your comments for years now and at this point feel compelled to join in. I have been a fan of Kylie's for 27 years now every since those Neighbours days. The point about being a fan is to embrace and love all the work that she does. Kiss Me Once sales - who cares - she has created her longevity the industry respect Kylie and there will always be something exciting on the horizon for her. Another point is that the awareness of Kiss Me Once is a global one not just UK based - Kylie has already secured a Number 1 in OZ and there will be solid sales across many countries. Lets enjoy the KISS ME ONCE year and all that this has in store - more videos - TV shows - remixes - new vinyls and of course the TOUR !!! The music is excellent and sounds really fresh a move that was needed and is sterling start from ROC Nation - keeping Kylie, Kylie whilst still moving it forward. Sexercise is a WOW whilst Into The blue is such a perfect Kylie Song - now go back listen to the music and enjoy without the worry
Welcome hexschofield and well said I hope you'll stick around and take part in discussion here.
Thanks Regina - I will stick around now I have joined to enjoy the Kylie and celebrate the wonderful person she is
Good News all Kylie Fans..... Into The Blue is returning like a Phoenix.....
its up from 31 to 23 on ITunes already since Sport Relief and I think we may see a Into The Blue/Sexercize mash up on The Voice tonight......
I think it could stay top 25 now tomorrow in the Charts and hopefully a couple more weeks top 40
Next Saturday will all be about Beautiful..... both Kylie and Enrique will be on BBC Radio 2 with G Norton and then pretty sure a Voice performance later in the day.......
So Mr President is quite the grower, those verses are really something. Chorus still a little flat for me.
I find "Mr. President" a little annoying.
I hope "I Was Cancel" is a single at some point.
I feel that "I was gonna cancel" has some vibe of "Get lucky".
Into The Blue holding up quite well.... should be around 25-26 in today's chart and should do another week top 40....by which time Beautiful should be performed with Enrique Iglesias next week (I hope) and Sexercize continues to grab headlines.....
Hoping KMO can do another week in the top 10 this week.
mothers day sales will probably effect kylie negatively.
'Mr. President's chorus is far better than the verses.
#2 in the UK.
Flop. She is totally over now. Her career is in tatters. She should retire.
Bounce Bounce......
I think if she performs Beautiful on The Voice next week with Enrique it could give this album a boost....
I hope she can stay top 10 this week in the albums..... the 4.99 Amazon download is selling well so hope they keep this and knock a few pound of her physicals and ITunes albums....
I am so lovin' this album right now, her best since "Fever" in my opinion my fave tracks = I Was Gonna Cancel, Sexy Love, Les Sex, Into The Blue & Kiss Me Once,
I hope after "Beautiful" is released that she brings out Les Sex & I Was Gonna Cancel as the 3rd and 4th singles as they are awesome.
I think bring Beautiful out next weekend then just try sell the album through the next few weeks..... then let her go to Australia and then comeback in June with a fresh single.... maybe I was gonna cancel for the summer..... and featuring Pharrel would differ it from the album version etc.....
If Beautiful has any chance of doing anything it needs promotion and performances. Does Enrique usually do much promotion in the UK? If both promoted at separate times due to scheduling they could use guest performances to do the duet or perform solo, all would boost its performance.
29,251 sold in week one.
Is that Kylie's lowest opening week sales for a studio album?
Pretty sure Let's Get To It and Impossible Princess would have opened on less.
Abbey Roads performed far better than i ever expected. On release I did not expect it to make the top 10, number 2 was a big surprise and it sales total is impressive for what it is. Kiss me Once on the other hand i expected more. I hold out hope it can stick around and build sales over a long period.
I can see the album dropping to #12 or so next week and selling about 10k.
If she sells another 10k this week I will be very happy!!!!!!!!!
I was being optimistic with my prediction of 10k
It seems to me that the best people can expect/are expecting is a chart run to similar to Light Years but on a smaller scale with much less copies sold. It's initial chart run went: 02-07-14-19-28-38-51-70- and went on to spend a while in the charts with a couple of returns to the Top 40.
I think it will drop off when she goes to Australia and then will be back again in the summer with a summer tune followed by a re-release tour edition or Xmas edition.
I'm surprised we don't have a thread for 'Sxercice' after all the promo it's been given, and even if it's not the official next single.
So much efforts and so much to say about it
I doubt there will be a re-release if it sells poorly.
There will defo be a Tour re-release or a Xmas one with new tracks.... almost certain....
Kylie will sing Into The Blue on Saturday with her 2 contestants ....... hopefully we can download this version and get it high
If it ends up like the one for Aphrodite then I'd rather it not happen, besides, it's not like it helped.
To be fair, if she can get a good couple more chart positions in the singles then I can see her being nominated for a Brit award which would be good...... long way off yet... but she has good promo next week 2 live Voice shows... Graham Norton etc.
I agree but don't think Kiss Me Once has done badly so far........
I'm 65% sure there's probably a US edition coming up... a la Jessie J.
I don't think it will fall that far! I have a feeling it will go #10 or #11 this week though
It's set to go top 30 or thereabouts in the next one.
Cheers! That's quite good if it's not far off Aphrodite's debut/peak.
Still bitter over X only getting to 188 or something like that when Aphrodite got to 19
I heard it was going to be 28th in USA... not too bad
I am hoping it can just sneak another week in top 10 this week but lets see tomorrow......
I think next week with Graham Norton and Live Voice shows KMO should sell relatively well.
#7 in Tuesday's midweeks.
Please don't fall to #11...
Oh, I didn't know it had a general US release.
It's done well without a lead single though as ITB did nothing over there, and they did nothing for it. Remember she did one performance of "Get Outta My Way"
She is on BBC Radio 2 on Saturday promoting Beautiful with Enrique Iglesias.... I wouldn't be surprised if they sing the song on the Voice Results show also.......
She is singing ITB with her contestants too on the main show..... hope it sounds good.......
I read on another thread that there is less than 1000 sales between 6th and 12th in the midweeks. She will need to sell consistently to keep top 10 as ITB has stopped getting airplay etc.
I really dont want to see a number 2 debut to out of the top 10.
#9 in Wednesday's update.
The album debuts at #10 in France !
Not too bad considering it's only her 2nd album to go top10 here
Kylie 19
Enjoy Yourself 24
Rythm of love 25
Light Years 50
Fever 21
Body language 31
X 19
Aphrodite 3
Kiss me once 10
Fever #21 in France? How strange.
Les love, Les Sex. Les top ten beats X.
I bet X would've had bigger sales though. French sales now are dans la toilette, non?
Fever had a shit peak but great longevity and MASSIVE radio hits
X did better than Aphrodite sales wise because In your arms and Wow had very good radio airplay in France, while Aphrodite could only rely on All the lovers.

It's actually weird to see how big of an icon she is in France when her sales are quite poor since 'Fever'.
down to 9 in midweeks and Into The Blue to 35
but Into The Blue is down to 47 on iTunes now and I expect it to be already out of the official top 40..... She will sing it as a duet on Saturday on The Voice so lets see if that has any affect
as for KMO...well next week should be a good week for it, but this week it looks to be dropping out of the top 10
Debuted at #31 in the US, sold just over 11k I think.
Still 9 in Thursday's midweek updates.....
Elton 10th and Shakira 11th.... hope she can stay top 10 ...but will be tight
