Never heard so many people openly asking to work with Kylie. I feel like she is going to have loads of collaboration coming over 2024 and maybe into 2025 huns. I feel like Kylie may get another top 10/20 this year if any of these songs come into fruition and release over this period huns.

Hopefully it is the summer single from the re release. Kylie coming back with another summer banger would be iconic.
I need to not get a head of myself because it is very hard for older female artists to get a hit these days.

My theory is Kylie is going to do some collaborations this year and stick them on a re-release of Tension at the end of the year, possibly to coincide with a tour. Kinda like how Ella Henderson and Becky Hill do to inflate the sales of their albums from the streams of their collaborations.
Even if they’re not massive smashes, songs by the likes of Sia and Joel Corry are going to get more streams than most of Kylie’s songs.

I read somewhere that the tension reissue will be similar to Disco and include collaborations. Joel Corey has done some ok dance tracks and he’s very current but it doesn’t excite me much tbh.

I think he has done some fantastic tracks but then some are very middle of the road ones. I’m confident Kylie will lift the song regardless.

Personally, I don't need any basic dance pop hits by her at this point of her career, especially now that she has gotten some recognition in the US where the Joel Corry sound would be totally irrelevant. It's fine for the deluxe edition though, if it for that.

Joel Corry 13.9m Spotify Listeners isnt a huge amount, but in UK its a good chance of UK hot hits etc etc and he will promote it too to a UK crowd.
If you think Bebe has 50m+, Sia 50m+ , Ofenbach even has 17.5m
I personally love colabs and love dance Kylie so anything dance and with a beat is good with me.
Love new songs and if she can get 4 or 5 songs with decent streaming long term then that's good for the album

I would say Tension revamp on preorder soon for June/July, new album ready to go in October. We don't need a 4 month build up to a new album if they are good songs etc

I think it would have to be either or, not both. Both would be flooding the market, there’s only so much money that her fans can shell out!
I doubt she will… but I’d totally prefer a new album released this year. I feel like Tension has been and gone, but it did what it set out to do which was to be a #1 (and it’ll eventually get to gold if its own accord - to me, that would feel like job done). I say strike while the iron is hot and move on quickly to a new album. Tension could be the Light Years… bring on the Fever!

The difference is though I think Joel has an active listening base which will listen to all his songs (hence why his album is doing well off the back of streams), Sia is racking up the streams through old huge hits and the majority of those 50m listeners are not engaging with new releases.

Some of his tracks are ok but not sure they fit with kylie’s style tbh. I’m not fussed about Kylie doing a dance track. I’d rather she stick to what she does best. Most of tension works well for me but 10 out of 10 is an example where it really didn’t work well resulting in a very under par track which shouldn’t have even made the album.

Was there ever a confirmation that a Tension reissue is definitely happening, or is it an assumption? Maybe her team said it in a Music Week article or similar but I can’t remember.
This is just how I feel personally: Kylie appears to be on a roll creatively, she comes across as being so energised and excited by the success of Padam & the accolades. So going down the path of a Tension reissue, peddling even more variants of an album that already has plenty… isn’t the best move she could make imo? When she could choose to keep things moving, forge ahead while the iron is hot and fully take advantage of this wave she’s currently on. Use these new producers to create an era launching single. I don’t think a reissue single will get the same level of attention compared to being marketed as being for a brand new album.
That’s just me. On paper it does seem more likely that it’ll be a Tension reissue. I’m just not all that excited by the prospect. I’d appreciate her not being formulaic and to not follow the exact template of Disco.

I'm sure it was quoted somewhere I want to say billboard or The Sun.
I don't think it will be loads of variants.
Maybe just a one new CD and Vinyl. Stick Dance Alone, Drum etc on it and flog it and get a top 10 in early June.

Have to say I agree - I’m fatigued with the amount of variants (with little creative input apart from different coloured vinyl).
If she has tracks with Joel and others then I’d love for them to be tacked onto Tension for streaming purposes like so many other artists do to boost their albums, would be totally here for them doing that along with a CD release if the new tracks are not part of the next album but I think the fanbase in general are well and truly done with having another 5 variants of Tension thrown at us.

I completely agree! A streaming/digital deluxe would suffice, I think. Round off the era but not be totally milking it.
It's still odd that the Drum/Heavenly Body version was on streaming for a hot second and then removed!
Sorry I know I've taken the chat quite far away from being about Joel Corry.
I'm still very curious about what the result of that will be. If it actually is a Joel Corry single with Kylie, I hope at the very least it would be another Top 20. His last couple of singles missed the Top 40 though so there's no guarantee!

I definitely read somewhere in the media that the re-release is coming “with a string of new songs” or something like that.
Tbh you don’t need to do barely anything to make a re-issue at this point — Drum and Heavenly Body already exist and were released, we have ‘Dance Alone’… 1-2 more tracks and that’s it?
My biggest problem with a re-issue is that if they release another single to support it, that single must be a banger not to kill the momentum before the next album. But if it is a banger, I’d rather keep it to open the new album!

I think knowing BMG, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if a video had already been filmed for 'Hold On to Now' months ago and they just randomly upload it to YouTube months down the line.
But in truth I don't see what else they could do with it; all the physicals had a (botched) release, it had its run on the Radio 2 playlist and there was an official remix.

The whole HOTN release was a mess and I think it’s well and truly over now - we’ve had physicals, remixes, Radio airplay.
I think the fact it was so unaligned was due to BMG’s restructure happening at the time it was released, they made a significant amount of people redundant and closed local offices and bought things in house centrally.
I love HOTN but I equally hope the collab with Joel is more than just a reworking of it.

Hold on now is over huns, I think the filmed video for that song was just the visualiser/lyrics video.
This will be a new song and I am really hoping it can do well.

As much as I'd love to see hold on to now get a new lease of life I've accepted it won't happen. I hated how bad they handled the single after how well they done with padam padam and Tension. HOTN was a complete mess of a release which is a massive shame as its my fave single of hers since all the lovers.

This is good news hun. Maybe this is Kylies next big hit that I mentioned in my predictions. If this streams well and gets tacked onto Tension with Dance Alone and one or two other songs, then Tension will get a nice weekly boost.

I do love your idea of making the most of the hype she is riding on right now and put together a new album. It almost seems like it limits the potential of working with hot producers and artists just for a couple of songs on a reissue rather than several songs for a full album, and I agree it would be overboard to do both.

I think they will try and get a PP style role out for the Pride/summer months of 2024 with some longevity tied in with Tension re-issue.
She said in a recent interview she is very busy for several months etc. An October new album campaign single and then album out early 2025 could work?

I hope the new album is indeed early 2025 rather than this year - it feels far too soon for another album campaign/build up to it atm.
I always think people need to ‘miss’ an artist inbetween album releases.

I do feel like if the album campaign were to begin at some point next year, that'd be ample time. Especially if we've got "surprises" to tide us over in the meantime (which I assume the Corry collaboration and the like would be)
Can't help but feel like Vegas has massively derailed everything at the most inopportune time.

Honestly this! It’s such a great album with her most commercially successful singles in decades and it got relegated due to Vegas.
Hopefully the new collabs will help with renewed interest in the album and she could really benefit from streams if working with names like Joel.

Joel Corry has been working in the studio with Kylie Minogue.
The 34-year-old DJ revealed that he has collaborated with 'Spinning Around' legend Kylie, 55, in the studio and teased that he has got some "bangers" coming out in time for the summer.
He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "I’ve just been in the studio with Kylie recently in LA – the Queen. I’ve got some bangers on the way. They say that I defrost for summer and the freezer has opened!"

I dont think it will come that soon as her birthday is next week, maybe June something will be announced/confirmed.
