Decent! Hoping it can maybe get Top 100 on Spotify in its first day. ‘Say Something’ was #169 with a full Taylor Swift album above and ‘Dancing’ was #77 I believe (was second on the New Music Friday playlist).

Didn't get on playlists but the Kylie curiosity factor kicks in, hence just bloody release on a Friday haha.

There seems to be a lot of love for Kylie in the last few days

Can I also just say....... day 44 of 10 out of 10 and 60k+ streams..... so if Say Something got only 88k on Day 14 I would say this song is definitely doing its job, without any remixes, radio plays, video etc

Wouldn’t get too excited about remixes etc., dropping quickly - I’m sure we’ll get them but it’s hard for remixes to make significant chart contributions weeks out from the original release.

Remixes should be released together, look at what Sam ryder done with mountain, remixes and multiple live versions and it secured him a top 40 if released sporadically it wouldn't have had the same impact.

Totally this - so many artists go for it in a chosen week, Sam Ryder is a great example - 13 versions and 3 CDs all available together, pretty sure he would have been around 60+ without them this week, Mae Muller secured her Top 10 this week too with the help of multiple remixes and CD singles.

So Padam Padam got 91,121 streams yesterday in the UK.

I don’t have Dancing first two weeks figures at hand, as they weren’t posted in the Spotify thread. Maybe in the individual thread which I will check later.

Meanwhile on Friday 24th July Say Something entered the Spotify chart at 169 with 62,527 streams. For reference, number 104 (Circles by Post Malone) had 80,520 streams.

And Dancing entered at 77 on Friday 19th January with 82,335 streams. Number 104 (One Last Song by Sam Smith) back in the day had 66,720 streams.

If we use a number 104 position as a marker of the market, we have a 29% growth on ‘Say Something’ and 23% fall on ‘Dancing’, but the latter had a very good NMF support AND a Friday release.

But for sure on Apple Music the result is very good. I hope it holds up!

Yes, 188 with 8k streams and I see another #121 in Australia (47k streams). So overall at least 150k streams just from these three for yesterday on Spotify. Should do 500k+, but I don’t think it will reach 1m with the figures revealed today.

You don't have to explain that to me, I know that already.

It's currently showing as 3rd on her Spotify Popular list, so I've shared that information! Yes, it's a rolling month. Based on the last ~30 days of streams, Padam Padam is her third most played song in that period.


Can't Get You Out of My Head has done 7,893,492 streams in the last 30 days, to Padam Padam's 1,049,051. Padam Padam will have to remain very consistent in the coming days and weeks to have a chance of overtaking CGYOOMH, based on its streams in any given 30 days period.

In Your Eyes (2nd place) is on 1,597,018 streams in the past month, so depending on how well Padam Padam's streams hold up, it could move ahead in the next couple of days.

It's doing great for Kylie and even if Spotify fail to promote it on the Big playlists its has given Kylie a good confidence boost.
Hopefully the YouTube streams and the Itunes downloads give it a good starting position in tomorrow's midweek

I guess we don't know also how many of those streams are premium or how many of other artists are likewise

This is daily Spotify streaming not totals.

All the lovers was about 21k


We have to remember even if Kylie gets 50 downloads a day on Itunes that's the equivalent of 7500 streams so although downloads not the main medium of sales they can add a lot and make the difference between a non top 100 track and not charting.

Also some Spotify songs are on weekend playlists or on ACR and will so lots to factor in.

To put into perspective, these are the first days of 'Padam' and 'Say Something' on global Spotify. Unfortunately I couldn't find 'Dancing' numbers in the vaults, but that more reminds of the 'Say Something' trajectory.



Evidently, up until yesterday, the trends were the roughly same, with 'Padam' just having higher numbers. But yesterday 'Padam' gained much better than 'Say Something'!

I'm waaaay more confident than usual, this isn't slowing down (or even falling away like all her other recent ones).

I think it could even hold top 30 this week, and who knows about future weeks if it carries on picking up steam like it is right now? It almost feels like just the beginning for this.

Cracked the top-40 on Apple and now at 39. Now I’m quite sure it will enter top-100 on Spotify in tomorrow’s update. Spotify Hot Hits UK, hello?? It’s clearly a hit? And certainly very hot?

But even if it stops gaining and isn’t caught by the playlists after the vitality dies down, it is on course to become her 3rd most streamed track ever in just a year! I’m obsessed by this trajectory!

If it’s added to more playlists, especially Hot Hits UK, it will easily go top-100 and more. If not, it’s probably going to reach its peak very soon (but probably still within the top-100, but low). But regardless, amazing result already.

If she can snatch top 20 next week and the CDs drop the week after... could we even believe it could go top 10? I dont want to get a head of myself because it has been dry on the singles charts for a long time (apart from SB).

Lets take one week at a time I guess, next stop is trying to get top 20 next week. Hopefully radio and playlist support goes up to help push the song higher.

Maybe they will hold remixes back until it looks like it is close to a top 10 placement?

No, over streaming chart there is no ACR or 3-songs cap. Hence PP not charting there yet and songs like ‘Set Fire to the Rain’, ‘Sweater Weather’ or ‘Wonderwall’ lingering in the bottom of it.

I think being 6 on the Massive Dance Hits (UK dance list) with 1.3m listeners will do very well for her Spotify numbers

The extended Mix if released for streaming could really add that extra push, not to mention mode downloads. Club Mix by a top DJ incoming too.

I might be wrong, but dance and rap songs tend to have bigger portion of their streams from Apple Music than others. Dancing Is Healing, for instance, is top 5 on AM but "only" #14 on singles chart.

I would think the share is 20% of the overall streaming market?

Well the 2nd single will have the benefit still of fans being able to download the song from both standard and deluxe iTunes albums and they know they lost sales from a Thursday release... plus they saw the 59p trick work and also the video release straight away .... so it could still be a top 75 hit I think and I don't even know what it will be haha.

I suppose lightning is unlikely to strike twice, but I hope that the performance of Padam Padam will make the streaming services more open minded about supporting her future singles, even if they don't capture the zeitgeist in the way that Padam Padam has with the memes.

I think if they play their cards right, they could make another top-40 from the album, even if it doesn’t take off later:

Streaming will increase regardless;
Put the single as song 2 behind Padam in the Padam single package;
Prepare something extra to release through the website;
Physical release, even if it is again dead expensive.

And that should be enough to clear 10-11K!

Meanwhile I keep seeing the messages of people exploring Kylie after Padam. It is really doing wonders for the whole catalogue.

I was vaguely aware of who she was before 'Spinning Around' and was sort of familiar with a small handful of songs, but I was 12 at the time and had only started following the charts about 3 months previously.

I saw she was at number one before I'd heard the song, I have to admit my first thought was "that soapstar from the 80s has made a random comeback"

I think it shows how notoriously difficult it is to become an established artist now - for example my nieces loved Meghan Trainor’s ‘Made You Look’, Raye’s ‘Escapism’ and Becky Hill’s ‘Remember’ to the point where they were on loop but they would have no idea who any of them actually were as the songs just crossed over to their worlds via TikTok etc., and they certainly are not on the lookout for new songs by any of the above or listening to their back catalogs.

Not mad at that - managing to hold Top 80 with the influx of the weekend streamers is an achievement, would expect it to pick up from Tuesday onwards due to the long weekend.

Wonder why this hasn't taken off outside UK & Ireland and Australia? Is it because of BMG? They should do way more promo on streaming platforms and focus on getting the song on playlists on a global level, not just in those three countries. It's clearly resonating with people.

To be fair, it's slowly started showing up on Apple Music in other countries. I assume it'll just be a bit slower because Kylie's not as visible in mainland Europe; if she does promotion that would help a lot. But it wouldn't surprise me if it does become a somewhat big hit in the UK other countries will catch up.

Also, shockingly, it's still bouncing around in the top 60 on US iTunes - which is impressive for a Kylie single considering she's not had a hit there since Slow.

I wouldn’t say it is that UK/IRE/AUS centric.

We have Rudimental’s ‘Dancing Is Healing’ released 5 weeks ago, 5 weeks in the chart and climbing to 14 last week and did 175K streams yesterday. And it has 5.4M Spotify streams overall, pretty much just like Kylie in a week.

Good news is, it is up again to 12 on Apple Music. Also 24 is good for Australia, that could be a new peak, can't remember.

Itunes is definitely picking up more in countries too. Scandinavian/Nordic countries been picking up

Not 100% sure what I have done exactly but I have managed to sign up to AMAZON MUSIC and I will stream Kylie Padam Padam. I will stream on repeat and try and get it up that chart so she is more visable to the general public.

I am.not sure what I am doing but I have spotify and I know how to use that as it is straight forward but I have never used this APPLE MUSIC before but I will get the hang of it. Amazon IS an important streaming service but the fact she’s doing well on Apple and Spotify should balance the current lack of Amazon streaming.

Padam Padam registered less streams yesterday compared to the previous Wednesday. Seems like the viral effect has gone off and was replaced by the playlist support, but only in her key markets.

The UK share of her streams yesterday was 19%, up from 15% the Wednesday before.

I think her 2nd single will be pushed back to give Padam Padam chance to grow and breathe. I also think her 2nd single will chart top 40. Obviously wont be a massive success as a 2nd single but I think she will get a little bit of radio and syreaming support so can see it going top 40 as well.

Great for Saturday streaming. Last week Kylie dropped LOADS of places down the spotify chart hun

Agree hun, I think the fact shes in the top 50 has helped it stay steady so the weekend effect doesnt impact her as much. So I think it will start to climb again soon. Hopefuly this helps it move up that hot gits playlist.

I think Padam Padam is one of those songs that is still finding its feet.

Its one of those songs that will bounce up and down all summer and is not going away.

It will be added to playlists and DJ sets and should have good longevity
