She has retired from the industry.

Britney has been sending more song ideas to Will, as recent as last week.
Looks like she's slowly getting the music bug, I just hope she gets away from Will.

It’s on her “Radar.” Britney Spears is planning to record a new album amid her divorce from Sam Asghari, sources tell Page Six. “She has an upcoming writers camp and is getting songs from some big artists,” one insider close to the Princess of Pop reveals to us exclusively. While we’re told Spears is “focused” on her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which hits stores Oct. 24, a second source shares, “Ideally, she would love to do a record and maybe a song for the book release.”
The Grammy winner has not released an album since 2016’s “Glory.” However, she has dropped two songs since a judge terminated her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021: “Hold Me Closer” with Elton John and “Mind Your Business” with her frequent collaborator Will.i.am.

The news that the “Toxic” singer is officially laying the groundwork for a new album, which “Extra” was first to report, comes just one day after her husband filed for divorce.
Asghari, 29, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the estranged couple’s separation and asked that Spears pay spousal support and his attorneys’ fees.

Sony Music has offered Britney Spears a $5 MILLION advance to return to the studio and record a new album, The Sun reports.
"She has been writing down lyrics and thoughts about the struggles of the last three years. Initially it was freeing herself from the conservatorship and now it’s about Sam and her splitting.
"Sony has been talking to her for two years about creating a new record in her new era of life. She says it is going to happen, and soon. So new music is definitely coming. It has offered her access to significant writers and producers and a song catalogue sure to create #1's whenever she wants.

Not sure I believe she has actually seen these offers if they have been sent her way. She seems blissfully away from showbiz or media.
I think she has, she mentioned last year in an audio clip she has so many offers for things.
I feel like there are SO many rumours about new music that it is definitely happening!

Told you so, told you so!!! She retired AND every album after My Prerogative isn't really a Britney album, as I said all along. They were albums forced on her, in which she had no control.
Glory was her baby, that is clear. She absolutely loved that project and it is clear she loved Blackout.
Imagine saying everything after MP isn't a 'Britney' album.
Sorry but you’re literally saying any old rubbish. She’s expressed on numerous occasions her love for those two albums.
She was heavily involved in Glory.
If this is the way it is then it’s understandable. As much as I’d love new music from Britney I’m ok with her decision. She has given us some great songs over the past 20th years.

100% expect Britney never to tour again or do the promo circuit, but find it hard to believe she would never put out new music. Hold Me Closer showed she is happy to get involved in a project that excites her and seemed very proud of that (unlike the limited comments she has made about Mind Your Business).
Hopefully she will have the bug again in a few years to put something out, but at least she is enjoying songwriting currently. Maybe she’ll write something that she won’t want to give away.
Britney will never tour.
I don't forsee any music releases either apart from new greatest Hits or her songs used as samples with her getting a credit on the releases.
I’d really like it if her region exclusive tracks could be made available on streaming worldwide.

It's just not true. She retired. Her last akbum was Blackout and thw rest were not Britney albums. So we can say she has bewn retired since 20007 anyway.
