At last
LISTEN HERE:
Definitely the best single choice left on the album.
I am hoping this is real as I cannot deal with that horrible Big Sean collaboration being the next single
Brilliant choice
Big Sean collab for 5th single please
BRILLIANT choice. Fully adore the song <3
Yep. This needs to be a single, but I doubt it will impact much outside of the US now. Especially with 'Love Me Harder' under performing and not even making top 40
But still, we're getting a video - Youtube video to the song, embedded into the first post.
Best news I've heard all week.
ADORE this song. I hope it can somehow outperform 'Love Me Harder'.
Aly happy about a single choice!? you know she's done well picking this then
This is absolutely incredible, probably the best non-single of 2014 to be honest so I'm thrilled they're pushing it <3 Her best song for sure.
This has now officially been confirmed
The perfect choice, hope it goes on to be a smash here.
A great shame that 'Love Me Harder' has only peaked at #50 in the UK, but it's having an incredibly consistent run, and as of last weekend it had sold 104,000 to date!
I really need this to be massive for her. So pleased it is a single, probably the best campaign single wise for an album I have seen in a long time. Would honestly class all 4 singles a 10/10
A rare era in which each single released has been better than the previous for me. One Last Time > Love Me Harder > Break Free > Problem
I adore the top 2 and enjoy the final two.
Problem > One Last Time> Love Me Harder> Break Free
'love me harder' >>>>>> 'problem' >>> 'one last time' > 'break free'
two can play at this game
One Last Time >>>> Problem >>>> Love Me Harder > Break Free
Problem is still in my top 10 songs of 2014 so it shows how fabulous this song is *.*
Problem >>>>>> Break Free >>> One Last Time >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Love Meh Harder
OLT could rise higher, the first two have the benefits of loads more listens.
Joseph you are awful x
'Love Me Harder' >>>>>>>>> 'Break Free' > 'One Last Time' > 'Problem'
Love Me Harder is a nice album track but never took me as a potential single, on an album full of great choices. It did well in the US of course though so it did well despite that.
Love Me Harder > Problem >> Break Free >>> One Last Time
Love Me Harder is sublime. One Last Time is GOOD but that's about it for me, I don't quite get the fuss.
I've been waiting for an official confirmation, yay!
Problem > One Last Time > Love Me Harder > Break Free
Really love all 4 though, 'One Last Time' would be a winner in a normal ranking where 'Problem' hadn't set such a high precedent.
Problem > Break Free >>>> Love Me Harder > One Last Time
But I love all of them. Problem was by far my favourite song last year.
Lyric Video:
Plus the video is set to premiere in 8 days I think!
Plus she http://www.gossipcop.com/ariane-grande-one-last-time-tonight-show-jimmy-fallon-video/ for the first time a week ago on Jimmy Fallon's post Suberbowl chat show!
Such an awful video! Basically just her walking around for four minutes while there is a ridiculous pink sky.
I quite liked it!
I thought it was fairly interesting and it did have quite a few things going on but I don't quite understand what was happening really. Also, why was that man with a scruffy beard so intent on following them?
Such an amazing song deserved a much better video .
Still hopeful this can smash though.
That video is truly diabolical. Not even an interesting concept.
Doesn't Ariana know it's rude to turn with your back to the camera? Meh.
I loved it. I loved the concept and granted it's one that doesn't lend itself TOO well to being a music video/it needed more dialogue, but the general idea behind it was cute and executed very well I thought. I liked the coloured stuff going on as I thought that gave it an Ariana feel to the video and kinda fits a similar theme to 'Break Free' and stuff.
What a cheap tacky mess. Absolutely horrific, this song deserve so much more
Really not liking this video at all i'm afraid. For such a beautiful song, i agree it deserved much more. Or actually, it deserved LESS to let the song speak for itself. The fluff with that comet business distracting from the song?
What a terrible video for an absolutely essential beauty of a song They should have either gone absoltuely all out or had a totally simple video, one of those where she's just standing there. Hopefully this can still be a hit, it's easily her best song and it was my fave album track of 2014 so it'll be a fave single of 2015 for me I imagine
I thought the video was cute! It would've been nice to see her singing aswell (to the camera) but the effects were nice! I love the found-footage concept of it <3
even a club video would've worked better
Nowhere near as bad as the video for "Break Free", but I would've much preferred another "Problem" or "Love Me Harder" video. Fingers crossed it'll be a hit in any case.
I think the video is fairly good. It's something very different to the norm, so it was refreshing in that sense. Simple video/club video would have been fine, but more of the same (which probably would have drawn complaints & moans too, let's be honest). I think a seemingly "odd" video like this will be more of a talking point and draw more attention to a song that's being released late into the album era.
Break Free is my favourite video of the four! I love how over the top it is. The Problem/Love Me Harder videos are relatively dull.
Looks like the concept for the video of "Never Say Never" by The Fray
Oh that is horrible, I'm so disappointed.
An epic song deserved better than this.
This song.
Having not heard the album, I never would have thought anything on it could top 'Love Me Harder' but this is putting up a good fight currently. I just played it four times in a row and sat at my desk in a trance instead of doing my assignment.
Utterly obsessed with this again like you wouldn't believe What an astounding song, it just might be my fave song since Euphoria!! It just gets better and better, I knew when I first heard it on the album leak it was special but Jesus <3
Her Celine Dion is FANTASTIC!
<3
---
This song is seriously one of my favourite songs ever. It's my favourite song since 'Euphoria' and that's a HUGE thing. It just has IT. Whatever it is I need for a song to click with me, this has it. It's flawless. Everything from the build to her vocals to the tempo of the song to the lyrics to the production... just everything! (Did I say, everything enough?)
I'm really not getting it like you guys It's a good song but for me it's a definite step down from the first three singles, all of which I really love. This feels a bit incomplete, quite tinny production and one of the worst videos I've seen in a long while. It's by no means a bad song, but for all the love you guys have been throwing at it, I expected it to be a little less... basic?
Tour question... What is this girls problem with "Baby I"???
Now officially my favorite Ariana single, I just love it. Wrong forum though...
This has been pushed back to June for the UK, I believe? So maybe radio haven't completely snubbed this after all and a BGT finals performance or something? *.*
I have begun to finally hear it on Capital!
Excellent news!
Really hoping it can go top 40 at least a week! She's over here in June for her tour I think, so hopefully she manages to get some promo sorted (preferably 'Britain's Got Talent', but we shall see!
I agree, its not in your face, its that subtle charm that creeps in with several plays and then bam, it just hits you hard. Very atmospheric song that complements her voice really well. A hopeless love song full of longing and nostalgia
Definitely one of Guetta's best productions to date.
It does improve with every listen but BMB would be the better single
Randomly up to #36 on UK iTunes! *.*
Any particular reason? Used in Hollyoaks/Eastenders or something?
Is that really all?! LMAO. Omg. But as long as it's helping this song out, I'm not going to complain!!
BF was/is a big hit despite it's shoddy peak tbh and LMH was huge despite never going top 40 (and received great airplay too iirc!). OLT's release has been pushed back to beginning of June I think so there's still time for it to be a hit (I really believe it will go top 40 at least for a week!) and possible promo too as she'll be on tour over here at that point!
Her thing was lack of promo here really
Nah I really think 'Break Free's total mess of a release was the problem. She's had no trouble in Australia ('Love Me Harder' and 'One Last Time' both top 20 hits) where I'm not aware of any difference in promo, even in Sweden she seems to have done better than the UK.
It's a shame, I don't even like 'Love Me Harder' but she's undeniably put out a great set of singles. One of the best pop breakthroughs of the last 5 years, I would say.
Up to #30 here! Rising so fast...
Seeing as it's streaming is already half decent and it's already #60 in the midweeks, this could actually make the top 40 on Sunday, as it's up to #21 on iTunes now.
It would be nice to see this top 20 (if it happens)
Glad this is finally doing something! With some Radio 1 support (Capital have already been playing it quite a lot seemingly) and maybe a BGT performance at some point, this should blast into the Top 10 <3
It's #16 on iTunes now! I can't believe it. It'll certainty out-peak 'Love Me Harder' at this rate. Though it might not out-sell it. 'Love Me Harder' as that had like 100 weeks in the top 75 (though not going top 40)
Wow, this hasn't half got a move on! There must be something else, I can't see that a 2 day old Kendall Jenner video is still having that much of an impact. I must admit, I haven't got the huge hype this has had and it's still my least favourite single of hers, but it does continue to grow with every listen and I'd be delighted for such a feel good pop song to do so well.
Top 40 this week and very likely to climb next week!
SMASH IT GURRRRLLLLLLL <3 <3
Added to the Radio 1 playlist!
So happy the UK is appreciating this for the smash that it is
Didn't know where else to post this...
Amazing
Brilliant seeing the album go Gold on Friday! All in all a very successful campaign.
Album - 100k
Problem: 612k
Break Free: 335k
Love Me Harder: 176k
One Last Time: 140k
'One Last Time' will almost certainly go silver, and 'Love Me Harder' should do the same before the year ends.
She was so good at The O2. Worried the venue might've been too big but she nailed it
Would love this to be a hit in the wake of what happened this week. Looks like it's soaring on iTunes.
I have always hated this and found it so overrated until today. It has just completely hit me </3
Stunning song.
It's already a hit surely?
Great to see it back, sad about the circumstances.
I liked this song from when it was released. Maybe not as much as Break Free though considering I am a dance music fan but its still a really nice song with a great vocal from Ariana and it definitely takes on more of an emotive maning in the light of last night's sad events.
One of my faves from her so getting this to slay the charts again in light of recent events is most welcome <3
It went gold, you can't say it wasn't a hit
It was obviously a hit....
I'm in tears listening to this now. That chorus is so powerful in light of recent events. I just think about the parents who have lost their children.
"All I really care is you wake up in my arms". </3
This was one of my favourite Ariana songs anyway, but have been listening to it a fair amount today after seeing the following tweet earlier:
https://twitter.com/bocas_moon/status/866983553149677568
</3 suuuuuch a powerful listen now after the Manchester incident. Great to see people rallying behind it (currently top 20 on iTunes!), a fitting and beautiful tribute to the victims and her fans in general.
Confuses me how Ariana Grande counts as "R&B and Urban" If anything this is one of her more "Pop" songs
Can we not argue about chart positions? It clearly WAS a hit when you look at sales.
Her best single for me (only beaten by Thinking Bout You in terms of whole output). A truly special song.
Her best ever song, really think it'll go down as a really memorable song for her especially in light of recent events. Loving that it is doing well again.
This has always been one of those songs that flew straight into my all time faves, it's easily top 20, it's the perfect song to be a tribute to those we've lost and a message of solidarity for those of us all still grieving and shaken.
It's clearly a hit though.
- Lengthy run in the chart
- 345K of sales (up until the start of 2016)
- Incredibly well known, has been performed on X-Factor etc
- Well known enough to have got a THIRD run in the chart now
It actually is over 400k, was certified gold on 10th June 2016. Quite clearly a hit, and its chart run is impressive:
NE (28/02/2015) | 94-85-76-78-70-70-65-67-61-65-63-36-33-34-33-28-24-27-37-37-39-43-51-61-71-81-95-x
RE (26/11/2015) | 49-90-x
Whether it's a hit or not (it IS), that REALLY doesn't matter at this point. It's a beautiful song and deserves all the attention it's getting.
I remember it being up for free on iTunes before release too.
Number 1 on iTunes. Went from 0.44 to 1.00 on Kworb in about an hour!
I've been playing One Last Time all this evening, I always had it as a rather nice song but it really is quite amazing. It leaping up the iTunes charts feels fitting.
I said in the iTunes thread, but this is really challenging for my absolute all time fave. It was always right up there but the tragic events have really brought out the lyrics and feeling, it's really SUCH a special song with so many layers I knew from first listen it was one of those songs that would really stay with me, and it's just been given new life. It's a shame it's not in better circumstances
New peak of #11 this week!
Sold pretty much 30k in 2 days! Fantastic stuff and it's great seeing the public latch on to an amazing cause!
Hopefully it can go top 10 and beat the mindless drivel that's currently in there. <3
Glad it's repeaking after what happened but I still don't like it atal l. Very beige.
Officially a charity single and a "Charity Version" has been released to iTunes!
This has spent 50 weeks in the UK charts so far and is now her longest charting single in the UK!
Certified 2x platinum in the UK!
(1,200,000+ sales)
Hadn't realised it was well over a million (even with the new interest in it last year)! That's great
I think the newfound interest did help it. I kinda expected that it would reach 1 mil eventually bc the album has been out for so long and that combined with the One Love Manchester stuff helped boost the single's standalone sales.
It seems surreal that it's now a 1.2m seller, but keep in mind it had achieved a gold (400k) accreditation already before the Manchester incident. Plus it was actually huge last year with its renewed interest.
Fully deserved though, it's such a behemoth of a track.
I had no idea it had already sold 400K before the incident happened.
Even without that happening it was a smash! And that was before streams were like huge wasn’t it so a good chunk of that 400K were possibly paid for sales.
Anyways what a song this is.
Never picked up much on this at the time but the music video is a bit unsettling now given how the song is associated.
Well, this seems to have been ignored in End of Decade review lists, but the OCC have revealed the top 100 biggest selling singles and albums of the decade in the UK and this is Ariana's sole entry in that! It appears at #82. A worthy song to hold the title of her biggest UK smash
Experiencing a climb on iTunes due to a show called 'Starstruck' (premise similar to 'Stars In Their Eyes' - three girls were dressed as Ariana singing this):
47 NEW
Ariana Grande - One Last Time
Can't seem to find a clip of it online right now but saw it earlier right after The Masked Singer!
9 years since this was pushed as a single! Happy birthday to a beautiful moment in her discography
