Good pick from the Rina album Jonjo! (Though I will say the listenthrough was the first time I'd seen the music video and it was a little disappointing aw x)

Not looking too bad so far both the Rina and Griff tracks were great choices! I feel like a Carly/Chanel/Rina win is quite likely but I'd love for The Weeknd or Jessie Ware to get it.

Been a while since I last heard 'Better Version' so was nice to hear it again for this <3 not too surprised at that being Jade as I know it made her chart as well and not sure Sabrina has many other fans on here

'Promise Me' is definitely the best I've heard from Rose Gray to date as well.

Confidence Man dominating in BJSC not long ago and now being the last on 0 here oop x (this is a better song than 'Holiday' for me as well lol)

'Can I come home' was miiiles better than 'Autopsy' for me so that one was a pleasant surprise! (Chez being immediately rumbled by uhsting tho lel)

I did a rare artist recycle for this which I normally avoid doing (I previously sent Sam Gellaitry to Unknown Pleasures) but I justify this by the fact it sounds nothing like the one I sent before. x

I wasn't even trying to be secretive there lmao Just wanted to share one of my favourite songs of the year (find out which one in my concluding EOY O:), not sure if it will stay like this, but I am very pleased to see some big points for it <3

Frankenstein was decent, but seemed like a less impactful Physical to me. The Weeknd I hadn't heard at the time and was great and Jessie Ware I really liked already so they would be my preferred winners.

That was also easily the best Rose Gray song I've heard yet!

I was curious about who sent 'Less Than Zero' - definitely wouldn't have guessed that as I'm not familiar with Lunar's music taste and also didn't know he even entered this but that is a great song choice, patiently awaiting it being saved from album track status x

Thanks RFC for another 1 point (which I also gave you in return!), Confidence Man still haven't topped 'Better Sit Down Boy' for me but I liked 'Toy Boy' more than a few of the singles from this era.

I was almost thinking for a second John actually sent 'Mad Man' to both here and BJSC lmao (but ofc his was Anna Bergendahl).

'Mad Man' not doing amazingly well here perhaps doesn't bode that well for it being a winner contender in BJSC, although then again it won't be competing with songs like 'Free Yourself' and 'Frankenstein' there so ~

Free Yourself is definitely one that has grown on me since i listened for the voting so not mad at that winner at all. Congrats Klaus!

Frankenstein is a very worthy runner up, I tried to enter it too lmao Very glad to see so much love for Less Than Zero though, and it was a really strong selection overall! <3

Yay I'm very happy with 9th! My aim was to show another side of Rose Gray as for the most part I don't think she's been well-represented by her BJSC tracks (bar Cupid which is a banger) - she's at her best on the more 90s-y ravey tracks like this one. I'm glad enough people liked it!

Generally that top ten is almost perfect I wasn't big on the Highasakite or Dagny tracks but the rest are brilliant, a Jessie win is so deserved. Absolute tune! Thanks for hosting Tafty, this was a great idea

Happy with Highasakite and Rose Gray being top 10 too! And Jafet really tried to still deny me bottom 5 with those points to Ellie ddd but maintaining top 20 by less than a point, that's all I was hoping for so I will take it, knew it was an uphill struggle sending a less well-known song by a male vocalist but still happy it found a few voters. (I did actually finish in the top half of the male vocal entries despite only barely avoiding the bottom 5 overall ddd)

Hmmm, I don't mind Free Yourself and I did vote for it but I did find it quite underwhelming, definitely amongst the quickest I've ever got bored of a Jessie single.

It's quite difficult to mark songs you've listened to loads vs ones which you give a couple of listens to, but both Head on Fire and Frankenstein were both pretty high in my end of year list so couldn't give top points to anything else.

Had no real idea what to expect from Confidence Man - it was just about my favourite album of the year so wanted to send something from it and I do love Toy Boy, just wanted something that'd definitely be accepted in this forum.

The Four Tet remix of Easy Lover was the most I've enjoyed anything Ellie related in years, hadn't heard the original and was suitable underwhelmed by it.

I'm thinking of making this an annual thing. I just wanted to celebrate the pop of the year and not have much restrictions. Like, I get why things like that are vetoed in other forum contests and things, but when it's a celebration of the year in music, I wanted as few restrictions as possible.

Congrats Klaus! I didn't even know you entered, but a great song to do it with *. This wasn't quite as good as her other recent releases, but does feel like a real anthem. Delighted to be top 10 in amongst all those huge Buzzjack favourites, those who liked this, I really would recommend their album as hearing it in context really made it as special as it was <3

Not really surprised that I got the last place. Still proud sending my entry, which was Sandro's very last single as a singer, as he'll be focusing on songwritings more in the future. That's why I felt it's a special song that needed to get its recognition here.

Wish I'd voted in this - I'd almost certainly have given The Weeknd 12 points! Although I'd probably have given Jessie enough points to win still, or maybe it would have been a dead heat... anyway I look forward to checking out the songs I don't know, and I'll look out for this next year!
