Justin's Instagram has been wiped. He's coming!
oh my Lil Nas X, Ariana and Justin all coming back at the same time
Now all we need is Rihanna to announce something!
This man is truly God’s bravest warrior bc he tried the big comeback thing but then his Timbaland collab, the *NSYNC reunion, AND Trolls Band Together all released within weeks of The Woman In Me and if I was responsible for derailing so many people’s careers/comebacks in the span of 6 weeks I’d take a page out of Man Of The Woods and become one
I haven’t liked anything he has done in quite some time. Didn’t like anything from man of the woods era. I think he will struggle to make a successful comeback now given his age and changes in the way the music industry works.
I liked Livin' Off The Land and Say Something last time around but I can't really remember anything else tbh. I'm definitely interested to hear what he comes back with, there aren't many other male pop stars who have had as many songs that I've enjoyed.
He would have been better to lay low for another year or so and let the Britney book stuff blow over but this man really has no shame. I eagerly anticipate it flopping.
If I'm honest, Justin hasn't made a decent record on his own since "Mirrors" which was 10 years ago.
I don't anticipate therefore that this is going to do much, let alone with how he has basically (and rightly) been called to task for his part in what's come out in Britney's book.
I actually quite like ‘Filthy’. Something about it’s production always stands out to me ‘Say Something’ and ‘Man of the Woods’ from his last album were really good too.
I really doubt the Britney book stuff will have much of an impact on how this does honestly, maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that's kind of a niche online scandal and frankly mostly gaining traction amongst people who already didn't like him. Not that I'm saying he will make a huge comeback, I just think that if it does flop I wouldn't attribute that to the Britney thing any more than him tanking his own musical reputation with his poorly received last album / just the inevitable reality of him being an ageing popstar and struggling to get sufficient playlist support.
I'm definitely less excited about this than I normally would be about a JT comeback as the only single I really enjoyed last time was 'Say Something'. I guess if he leans into the country/folk style again this era he could do ok since that's quite the trendy sound right now.
No idea if it's the lead single or not, but a preview of new song 'Sanctified' can be heard here:
Words cannot explain my excitement! The legend is back!
Yeah, I'll be giving this a miss. He has some decent material but none of it makes up for what a mysogynistic pig he is.
This is the man who forced his girlfriend to have an abortion, then played guitar as he watched her crying on the bathroom floor (amongst other things), Why should he be beyond criticism exactly?
Also, he isn't cancelled per se (compared to artists like R. Kelly), we just don't support him after what he did to Britney and how he dealt the Janet's Super Bowl controversy.
He'll get enough support from US radio stations so no need to worry about that.
Will Radio 1 support him this era?
Radio 2 might.
Trailer:
Love that trailer!
Wow this is the first I heard of all this but then I’m not really a huge fan of either that I’d go and read a book like that!
title would be much better as
Everything I thought I was instead of "It"
I really don’t know why this has turned into a thread about Britney.
Looking forward to hearing what he comes back with.. hopefully nothing like the last album
You really need to calm down, get some fresh air. Justin Timberlake is a multi millionaire you don't need to be in the trenches defending him like this getting so upset
Calling people freaks, weirdos and going to personal insults is absolutely unhinged. No one else has done that.

We are only 21 days into 2024 but this has to be thread of the year already!
Just a general rule of thumb:
Can we all please respect each other and if you aren't a fan of him, please be accepting that there will be others out there who are anticipating his new material and will want a place to discuss his new material. However, that doesn't mean anyone gets to be rude and name-call people who aren't a fan of him, also.
Please keep it civil. Thanks.
Any continuation of unnecessary personal arguments are just going to be deleted. This is a thread to discuss Justin's new music and Tafty has already politely asked that everyone keep things civil.
You not seen the posts on the previous page then?
Intrigued by what his new material will be. I'd be surprised if he had a big hit in the UK, maybe a 19-56 run possibly.
The album is now up for preorder. Not much on the UK store, just Black vinyl and a CD, and various bundles containing one or both of those with t shirts or a hat!
He also performed 'Sanctified' on SNL - I think this should've been the lead!
'Drown' is out tomorrow.
I’ve really liked both Drown and Selfish so far.
Also a UK tour was announced today. I’d really like to nab some tickets but pretty much everything has happened within this paymonth with still one week before payday
So annoyed he’s not coming to Glasgow. So many big artists are skipping here lately, not a fan of this trend!
No Angels preview, co-produced by Calvin Harris:
The tracklist has been revealed:
1. Memphis
2. F**kin Up The Disco
3. No Angels
4. Play

8. Infinity Sex
9. Love & War

'No Angels' actually sounds ace!
It's all shit
Anyone heard this in full? I’ll be listening tomorrow and rather excited. JTs pretty consistent with me a stellar discography as a solo artist.
How are we expecting this to do? I mean sales wise he could debut at #1 possibly? I know his popularity has seen a bit of a downfall lately but studio album wise he has a top 2 streak here in the UK so could he maintain this?
I’ve seen pretty muted reviews but what I’ve heard from the album I’ve personally really enjoyed. I guess we’ll soon see but intrigued to hear people’s thoughts on this
I don’t comment much on here about JT because of the hate but this could be his strongest album, no joke! Listen to Flame first, it’s life changing! The reviews on X etc are incredible, people that have listened to it without biased think it’s strong! Reviewers are mostly a certain type of person and he could have released the best album of all time and got a bad review! Honestly, there’s only 2-3 songs that aren’t 10/10
I couldn’t make it all the way through, it’s way too long. Flame was actually my favourite on first listen too though, but I think that’s because it sounds most like the other songs of his I like. I saw an article on Billboard where they ranked all the tracks and they put Flame last though!
Initial impression was it was a kind of 3/5 type of album for me. Not bad but not anything I’m likely to return to, and definitely too long.
I've only seen mixed reviews, haven't seen a single positive review
I personally really enjoyed the album. Maybe a tad too long but nothing stood out as being bad. I think there’s elements of 00s Justin on this album. I’ll give it another listen but Flame did stand out for me as well as No Angels.
The N-Sync collaboration sounding exactly like a Saturdays album track (Here Standing) was a surprise. Can’t call how his actual physical / paid sales will be but surely this will be heading for top 5 at worst?
I think a has a decent chance at #1, it's hard to tell though.
I think he'll most likely debut at #2 again behind Ariana, there is always still a chance he will get the #1 tho! I didn't really enjoy the singles but will listen to the album soon to see if it's any better.
This is #4 on US Apple Music (albums) currently so without strong physical sales it might even miss the top 5 there
of course it depends 100% on the physicals
Shocking that in the US she didn't get any song in the top 200 on Spotify, not even the singles
while Kacey Musgraves got 8
Physicals were always going to be the decider! Can’t see it missing no1 in the US
Not sure how true this is but..
I think music is partly a case, as it is not a brave album musically at all, it plays very safe. It would get more attention if more risky.
Yeah as polarising as Man Of The Woods was it definitely got people talking
Man of the Woods was definitely MUCH worse than this, aside from Say Something and Living Off the Land - both of which are keepers for me.
The Woods albums was such a gigantic mis-step!!!
So I just got round to listening to this and... it's a pretty average album. If we compare it to his first two albums (which he's clearly trying to emulate here in terms of sound), it's nowhere near as good. There are certainly some nice moments (of the songs previously unreleased, 'Flame', 'Conditions' and 'Paradise' stood out and 'Love & War' is my favourite), but I certainly won't be listening to the album in its entirety again. And it definitely suffers from being too long - if they'd just picked the best 11 songs, it would have been a decent album.
First set of midweeks are in for the UK and he’s at #4!
That's a pretty poor showing, I was honestly expecting him to be either #1 or #2
Somewhere Britney and Janet are having a giggle.
I thought he would be easily number 1, he should be safe for top 5.
I'm not sure he will be. He'll likely be passed by at least The Weeknd and Noah, potentially more.
what a disastrous disaster, not even 4k
I’m very surprised by album sales. Will be lucky to sell 10k this week.
Did expect him to at least be at #2 tbh... and I don't think that's an overestimation given album sales numbers these days and his established name.
a 4.9 review x Pitchfork, not bad think Woods got a 3
https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/justin-timberlake-everything-i-thought-it-was/
I’ve had time to listen to this more and, even as a JT fan, I’m not keen. There’s a couple of standout songs but the album as a whole is just a slog to get through. The cons outweigh the pros by too much. It’s consistent at least
Man Of The Woods was better imo. But that was also too long for its own good. Both of these albums have at least 3-4 songs too many that don’t need to be there as they just sound like a mashup of other songs already on the album
https://www.complex.com/music/a/tracewilliamcowen/justin-timberlake-forget-tomorrow-tour-biggest-gross
In better news for Justin, his upcoming tour is set to be his biggest yet with $140 million grossed across 70 shows. I suppose he's certainly a 'nostalgia' act at this point then.
Debuts at 48 here in Ireland.
^That's insane! and we thought #5 in the Uk was a disaster
#86 in the UK on week 2!
eeek! I actually feel a little bad because I don’t think the album itself is bad. I’m a little surprised too obviously I know he’s had strong backlash but even with his name alone I thought he’d have had a bigger week one and a stronger hold up.
I guess it’ll probably not return to the top 100 now.
Me either unless something surprising happens, it will struggle to even get to silver sales.
