Out in two weeks.
I thought 'Holy' was the lead?
"upbeat pop solo"
'Holy' and 'Lonely' surely will be included on his next album even if only as bonus tracks I'd think? Not sure why he's disowning 'Holy', not like it hasn't been a big hit for him!
Bieber releasing a single at the start of 2020 was the first sign of doom for the year so him doing it again in 2021 is a bit ominous :eyes:
So in the space of 24 hours we have learnt that new music is coming from Ed Sheeran and now Justin Bieber...
All it needs to complete the trio is Lewis Capaldi to come along with another song.
I can understand why they pretend Holy doesn't exist
Sure Drake will comeback too, isn't he supposed to have a new album in Jan/Feb?
Holy and Lonley are bops, I guess he's decided not to go down the poor me route and go for some bops for success
Drake's been saying it for a while too, he confirmed January two months ago
Well it can't be any worse than any of this year's output!
Drake, Bieber and Sheeran.... buzzjack’s fav
Andrew Watt producing is fairly promising, I quite like a lot of his stuff. In the last year he's produced most of Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne and 5SOS' albums!
king of having four top 10 hits in uk / usa this year and being a flop
king of going to #1 on albums and for that being a flop
Changes was a underperformance in terms of quality but commercially he's had another successful year! 5 top 10 singles in the UK is very hard to match! I'm looking forward to a return to form for him! Watt is a promising producer and it sounds like he's wanting to change up the pace. Intentions was the only single I really liked from him in 2020.
No one said he was a flop, just the material was shit!
Hopefully if it is upbeat, he can produce a bop. I think the last song I liked of his was Friends.
Compared to his previous era, he is flopping.
he's totally flopping if you consider the amount of investment and payola Scott and his label are throwing around
how much did his last album sold? 60K, wow that's incredible... said no one ever and that's all probably from playlist streams
Flopping and underperforming are not the same thing
Changes was absolutely an underperformance despite the #1 peak, but I don't think a #1 album can be called a flop? Not to mention achieving five top 10 hits this year, four of which in particular were big hits. On the singles front he's doing just fine.
Apparently this is a Romance reject.
Shameless is SOO underrated, but then Liar and Senorita are awful!
oh my shopping for Camila rejects, cannot Justin do any better?
Wait until we hear the track, we’ve had so many bops that have been rejects. It might not have fitted in with the album
You know what we need a Justin Bieber rate.... RESULTS. Joseph
there is a difference between underperformance and flop.
but this is a flop not an underperformance. Nobody bought this album, all their "sales" are playlist streams bought by his label,
so it's a flop. Their label sure lost money with all the $ spent on playlist payola and no one buys the album.
it's like saying becky hill's album (Get to Know) it's a hit. It's had 150,000 "!sales" but no one has bought it, it's all playlists streams,
her popularity is zero unlike what those streams suggest.
The album performed well though and did go to #1 in multiple countries? I feel like a lot of artists are having a huge underperformance with a couple of exceptions because they’ve built up such high standards, it still performed well worldwide and got some good sales from Yummy and even better sales for Intentions!!
There's a rumour that his upcoming album could also be released early next year (unless it's only this single, of course).
From https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=324527&title=NEW-RELEASES%253A-MACCA%252C-SHADY-AND-%2527MORE:
I love how people that claim to dislike an artist so much spend a lot of valuable time analysing their performance, he must be doing something right
Anyway, excited to hear this! Bring us a BOP Justin
It's not really valuable time posting a quick one minute message. No need for the passive aggressive, patronising attitude Calum.
I am all for Justin being good and enjoying his material despite what people think. I loved the Purpose era and stuff before it, the new stuff just isn't for me at all, and thats fine but I'm willing to be open to enjoy new stuff from him!
u told me x
Produced by the same producers that made Cold Water and Let Me Love You! This is the Bieber I love, come through Justin!
ATRL Insider said it sounds like a maroon 5 song
It will be performed on his NYE show tomorrow
I LOVE this Not what I was expecting, but it's so good!!
(also completely unrelated but has he completely un-tatted his body lmao?)
It's better than all of his releases last year! Still doesn't click with me enough to want to listen out of my own accord but it might grow. Feels dated in some ways but definetly a improvement!
Ooh this is really great! Why did he go and release ‘Lonely’ when he had this song all ready to go?
This is much more in the vein of Holy. I agree with Jack that it does have that early 2010s feel - the drums feel very Ryan Tedder esque. I wonder if Jon Bellion is trying to give that sound a comeback, seeing as he co-produced.
Very much a well crafted pop song.
He had his tattoos in this from 2 days ago so I assume they've just been edited out or covered up!
Another bop from bieber
Can imagine this being a mess live tho, It would also suit Camilla tbh
Song of the year!
Well one listen in and this is absolutely GLORIOUS. The production shifts and interesting structure, I did not expect. Liking it a lot on my first listen!
He's really turned things around after hitting that all-time low with Yummy, hasn't he? This is another certified bop!
Quite a disastrous start worldwide for this, I think over exposure is really hurting him right now, he’s been involved in so many songs last couple of months and radio seem to be playing lonley and holy still in the us, I guess both will be pulled now but a debut of #9 in usa and #31 here is very poor
Okay well I'm actually really liking this now, disappointed to see it not off to a good start If this had been the comeback instead of Yummy, it would've been huge I imagine. I think the problem is that he has released too many subpar songs last year to get a proper big hit again.
I hope it has longevity at least.
I quite like this and I'm a FAN of the video. Is Bieber back? Perhaps momentarily.
I was expecting better based on the comments here, I found it pretty boring on the first listen.
I really like this new song. The video is good but I can't see him as a boxer
This ended up increasing on streams in the second day which is weird! It must have had some streams missing the first day.
Why was it needed to remove the tattoos from his body?
its really a maroon 5 does 'This is Me' from 'The Greatest Showman' for me.
I really like this, it's a sax solo away from being as genius an 80s throwback as this gem, which turned up in a BJSC spinoff years ago:
