Well she must be getting desperate for a hit so a change in direction is needed.

Camila needs something huge to turn the corner in her career

It's titled 'I Luv It' and features Playboi Carti.

Posted by: Y'all Starlight 17th March 2024, 09:50 PM

This sounds absolutely terrible lol. I also can't tell whether she is saying 'I Love It' or 'Elevate' oop.

Carti, what are you doing here! The once underground artist has now well and truly sold-out laugh.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th March 2024, 09:52 PM

I actually quite like it laugh.gif

Posted by: Jessie Where 17th March 2024, 11:17 PM

God that sounds horrific tearsmile.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 17th March 2024, 11:25 PM

What in the actual f**k is that snippet tearsmile.gif

Posted by: Cody Scobell 18th March 2024, 12:25 AM

I have zero idea what she’s going for

Posted by: pippa 18th March 2024, 01:08 AM

This sounds extremely annoying.

Posted by: Dotty New Year 18th March 2024, 01:26 AM

Oh that's not...

Posted by: Jessie Where 18th March 2024, 02:50 PM

If the full thing is as bad as that suggests, I might have a worst song of the year contender.

Posted by: Dexton 18th March 2024, 03:04 PM

Awful vocals aside, I like the sound of the production on that clip? Maybe there’ll be a really well made album with shocking vocals

Posted by: Mangø 23rd March 2024, 11:49 AM

Those Instagram posts have been removed and the song didn't release on Spotify yesterday like it was supposed to. I wonder if they've pulled it in favour of something else? Maybe they read these comments on Buzzjack and decided you guys were right lol

Posted by: conorw 23rd March 2024, 12:00 PM

it seemed to be like marmite on tiktok, insta and twitter, i only saw extreme hatred or extreme support for it lol

Out on Wednesday:

This is out now and I have no idea what to make of it.

Posted by: Calum 27th March 2024, 05:11 PM

This is diabolical. laugh.gif

Hard to believe this is the same artist that gave us the likes of Havana, Shameless, etc. What a disaster.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th March 2024, 05:13 PM

This is great! The chorus is a bit annoying, but the production sounds fantastic.

This. drama.gif

Absolutely terrible.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 27th March 2024, 05:17 PM

The production is a damn MESS and it's literally just noise! Horrendous. Somehow worse than I feared.

It'll have it's audience though.

Posted by: Dan17F1 27th March 2024, 05:20 PM

I don’t know what to make of that!

The production is pretty good I’ll give it that, that’s about all the positives I can say about it though really. I can’t understand a single thing Playboi Carti is saying (not that Camila is much better), and there’s a very distinct lack of chorus at the end, why does it just stop after the rap?

Posted by: awardinary 27th March 2024, 05:23 PM

She sums it up in her opening line "Diabolic" that was a ridiculous idea for a song.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th March 2024, 06:18 PM

I like how we're divided on its production, it's definitely a marmite sound. laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork 27th March 2024, 07:03 PM

I read the comment in here first and was expecting the worst
but I think it's quite good and quite melodic too

if she wants to give up the Havana lane, this is the right move, do a make or break kinda single

Posted by: Jordanlee 27th March 2024, 07:10 PM

I’m not entirely sure if I’m sold or not but I can definitely see this performing pretty well. One of those songs what I think could potentially be huge it’s got TikTok written all over it.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 27th March 2024, 07:28 PM

Melodic???

WHERE IS THIS MELODY??? It’s literally just noise 🤣😭

Posted by: Jessie Where 27th March 2024, 07:46 PM

Faaaacking hell. Worst song of the year and won't be beaten.

I was about to say, melody WHERE exactly? laugh.gif

Posted by: conorw 27th March 2024, 08:23 PM

Icl it’s actually not too bad! I love the instrumental but the xhorus is a a bit shit and playboy was not needed cos he adds nothing 😭 i think it’ll either grow on me or I’ll definitely hate it not sure yet

Posted by: Scene 27th March 2024, 08:33 PM

It really is something quite atrocious.

Posted by: danG 27th March 2024, 09:33 PM

what the shit is this

Rihanna should sue for copying this hot mess of a song

Posted by: Scene 27th March 2024, 09:37 PM

Cockiness is a tune! wub.gif Rih should definitely sue. The choruses are identical.

Posted by: Mangø 27th March 2024, 09:43 PM

I was intrigued to listen to this after reading all those comments. My take on it: it's a bit of a mess but it's not that bad. Weirdly for me, I liked the rap more than the rest of the song, especially the instrumentation/production during the rap. So yeah, I don't luv it but I don't hate it.

Posted by: Jade 27th March 2024, 10:40 PM

This is very Charli XCX-meets-ROSALÍA cosplay (El Guincho is even one of the producers *.*) which is... an appealing moodboard to me, initially found the chorus annoying but it's quickly grown.

Posted by: 365 27th March 2024, 11:16 PM

LOVE this. I don’t care. If you get it you get it.

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 28th March 2024, 12:00 AM

Nah. I definitely think we get it. I (we?) just think it's shit. tearsmile.gif

(This will be the last thing I say on this lmao as I feel like I'm taking over the thread saying the same thing lmao oops x)

Posted by: Scene 28th March 2024, 12:03 AM

I just don't think this is the song she needs at this point in her career.

Posted by: Dexton 28th March 2024, 12:33 AM

I mean it’s better than the snippet made it seem but.. laugh.gif

Agree with others that the production is a highlight though

Posted by: Jαsє 28th March 2024, 12:50 AM

What is there NOT to get? tearsmile.gif

Posted by: Y'all Starlight 28th March 2024, 09:26 AM

As someone who usually stans Jersey Club tracks being in the mainstream, this is utter garbage laugh.gif That Carti verse, WTF? That hook, WTF?

Posted by: Cow P 28th March 2024, 09:45 AM

Surely they're trying to make something similar to THE viral anime song kink.gif , but it failed in the most hilarious way.

Productions are decent nonetheless.

Posted by: JackTheeStallion 28th March 2024, 09:52 AM

I low key like this, the production is fun and idk there's something to it.

Posted by: Jade 28th March 2024, 10:26 AM

I do agree that the Carti verse is a mess, I cannot decipher a single word laugh.gif the production at that point is really cool, I wish it flourished into one more chorus to end on

Posted by: Liаm 28th March 2024, 11:41 AM

This isn’t THAT bad I just don’t know why she is bothering with something like this. It’s a decent attempt at hyperpop, the production is more interesting than stuff that regulars to hyperpop do a lot of the time. But it feels inauthentic to her and the Carti rap is borderline unbearable, why is it so long in a song that’s less than 3 minutes long😭

Posted by: troylovesmusic 28th March 2024, 01:03 PM

This is genuinely terrible ? Even my dislike for her aside I can admit when a song is good but this is literally just noise , mumbling, and a very cringe attempt to be “edgy” !

Posted by: RobBot 28th March 2024, 02:54 PM

This is hilarious laugh.gif I'm not sure that was the reaction she was going for, but I mean, when was the last time anyone spoke this much about a Camila Cabello release?

I feel like I'll end up ironically liking it because I do with anything messy - the Sine From Above remix on Dawn Of Chromatica is literally my most played from that album cos I'm obsessed with the mess - but there is definitely a disconnect in branding that is meaning this isn't clicking properly. Like, why is it squeaky clean Camila doing this? The pretty little latin girl, idk. I'm all here for artists experimenting but there is something a bit unnatural about it and I'm not convinced she pulls it off.

Entertaining though! Playboy's verse is literally unintelligible and I was smiling so hard through it. It's like something that leaked on JamExclusive in 2009 from the cutting room floor.

Posted by: blacksquare 28th March 2024, 03:55 PM

As a lover of Charli XCX at her noisiest — this is doing it for me, cosplay or not *.*

The production towards the end is incredible but Carti sounds pretty terrible and indecipherable — would have liked an instrumental outro

Posted by: Cody Scobell 28th March 2024, 05:43 PM

I still have ZERO idea what she is going for

at the same time I've had "iloveitiloveitiloveitiloveitiloveitiloveit I LUV IT" stuck in my head since the first listen

Yeah, you’d like the demo then. I can send it to you. It’s the same but his part is just instrumental.

Posted by: Neil 28th March 2024, 10:04 PM

What a fascinating song. I'm not sure if I think it's terrible, or so bad that it's good?

The video however - I LOVE.

Posted by: shadow2009 29th March 2024, 12:41 PM

I f***ing LOVE the video - especially the blindfolded dance sequence at the middle 8.

The song needs another chorus after the rap.

#77 debut on Spotify UK

Posted by: Padamic Tension 2nd April 2024, 08:05 PM

57 in todays mids.

Posted by: JosephBoone 3rd April 2024, 02:27 PM

I had no idea what to make of this on first play but I can't get enough of it at the moment, it's so infectious! "Slow down baby" cheeseblock.png

(and Playboi Carti's rap is hilarious, the way I can pick out like 4 words and 3 of them are profanities)

Posted by: Jαsє 6th April 2024, 11:43 PM

The best thing this abomintion has gifted the world is the Youtube comments;

"this song gave me an aneurysm, I had an anxiety attack trying to focus on the beat and off line vocals."

"Carti’s verse feels like when you try to tell your friends about that amazing dream that you had."

"Carti the first artist to rap a verse entirely in ancient dark magic incantations. Like I’m pretty sure if you read the lyrics to his verse out loud, you’d like unleash a demon or put a curse on somebody"

"Aint gonna lie, needing 9 writers for this song is actually humiliating"

"Song makes as much sense as the collab…"

"I'm obsessed with how atrocious this is?"

She came on during Lana Del Rey's headline set at Coachella last night to perform this:

Lana going from having Billie on week 1 to Camilla on week 2, the downgrade biggrin.gif

Not her walking out on stage and just aimlessly swearing, I want to like her but she makes me cringe.

Her career by the looks of things

Posted by: shadow2009 25th April 2024, 10:13 PM

It's wild how much public opinion of her and her career has changed since late 2017/early 2018 when Havana and her debut album became a global number 1 and it looked like the birth of a new megastar.
