Coming in March apparently - sounds interesting!
looks like she's given up on the Havana/Senorita route
Camila needs something huge to turn the corner in her career
Extended preview:
This sounds absolutely terrible lol. I also can't tell whether she is saying 'I Love It' or 'Elevate' oop.
Carti, what are you doing here! The once underground artist has now well and truly sold-out
I actually quite like it
God that sounds horrific
What in the actual f**k is that snippet
I have zero idea what she’s going for
This sounds extremely annoying.
Oh that's not...
If the full thing is as bad as that suggests, I might have a worst song of the year contender.
Awful vocals aside, I like the sound of the production on that clip? Maybe there’ll be a really well made album with shocking vocals
Those Instagram posts have been removed and the song didn't release on Spotify yesterday like it was supposed to. I wonder if they've pulled it in favour of something else? Maybe they read these comments on Buzzjack and decided you guys were right lol
it seemed to be like marmite on tiktok, insta and twitter, i only saw extreme hatred or extreme support for it lol
This is out now and I have no idea what to make of it.
This is diabolical.
Hard to believe this is the same artist that gave us the likes of Havana, Shameless, etc. What a disaster.
This is great! The chorus is a bit annoying, but the production sounds fantastic.
The production is a damn MESS and it's literally just noise! Horrendous. Somehow worse than I feared.
It'll have it's audience though.
I don’t know what to make of that!
The production is pretty good I’ll give it that, that’s about all the positives I can say about it though really. I can’t understand a single thing Playboi Carti is saying (not that Camila is much better), and there’s a very distinct lack of chorus at the end, why does it just stop after the rap?
She sums it up in her opening line "Diabolic" that was a ridiculous idea for a song.
I like how we're divided on its production, it's definitely a marmite sound.
I read the comment in here first and was expecting the worst
but I think it's quite good and quite melodic too
if she wants to give up the Havana lane, this is the right move, do a make or break kinda single
I’m not entirely sure if I’m sold or not but I can definitely see this performing pretty well. One of those songs what I think could potentially be huge it’s got TikTok written all over it.
Melodic???
WHERE IS THIS MELODY??? It’s literally just noise 🤣😭
Faaaacking hell. Worst song of the year and won't be beaten.
Icl it’s actually not too bad! I love the instrumental but the xhorus is a a bit shit and playboy was not needed cos he adds nothing 😭 i think it’ll either grow on me or I’ll definitely hate it not sure yet
It really is something quite atrocious.
what the shit is this
Rihanna should sue for copying this hot mess of a song
Cockiness is a tune! Rih should definitely sue. The choruses are identical.
I was intrigued to listen to this after reading all those comments. My take on it: it's a bit of a mess but it's not that bad. Weirdly for me, I liked the rap more than the rest of the song, especially the instrumentation/production during the rap. So yeah, I don't luv it but I don't hate it.
This is very Charli XCX-meets-ROSALÍA cosplay (El Guincho is even one of the producers *.*) which is... an appealing moodboard to me, initially found the chorus annoying but it's quickly grown.
LOVE this. I don’t care. If you get it you get it.
Song of the year x
Ok I have come to actually… luv it! Not a fan of cartis verse but apart from that it’s such a serve i luv it it’s so cunty if you don’t like it you just don’t get it
Nah. I definitely think we get it. I (we?) just think it's shit.
(This will be the last thing I say on this lmao as I feel like I'm taking over the thread saying the same thing lmao oops x)
I just don't think this is the song she needs at this point in her career.
I mean it’s better than the snippet made it seem but..
Agree with others that the production is a highlight though
What is there NOT to get?
As someone who usually stans Jersey Club tracks being in the mainstream, this is utter garbage That Carti verse, WTF? That hook, WTF?
Surely they're trying to make something similar to THE viral anime song , but it failed in the most hilarious way.
Productions are decent nonetheless.
I low key like this, the production is fun and idk there's something to it.
I do agree that the Carti verse is a mess, I cannot decipher a single word the production at that point is really cool, I wish it flourished into one more chorus to end on
This isn’t THAT bad I just don’t know why she is bothering with something like this. It’s a decent attempt at hyperpop, the production is more interesting than stuff that regulars to hyperpop do a lot of the time. But it feels inauthentic to her and the Carti rap is borderline unbearable, why is it so long in a song that’s less than 3 minutes long😭
This is genuinely terrible ? Even my dislike for her aside I can admit when a song is good but this is literally just noise , mumbling, and a very cringe attempt to be “edgy” !
This is hilarious I'm not sure that was the reaction she was going for, but I mean, when was the last time anyone spoke this much about a Camila Cabello release?
I feel like I'll end up ironically liking it because I do with anything messy - the Sine From Above remix on Dawn Of Chromatica is literally my most played from that album cos I'm obsessed with the mess - but there is definitely a disconnect in branding that is meaning this isn't clicking properly. Like, why is it squeaky clean Camila doing this? The pretty little latin girl, idk. I'm all here for artists experimenting but there is something a bit unnatural about it and I'm not convinced she pulls it off.
Entertaining though! Playboy's verse is literally unintelligible and I was smiling so hard through it. It's like something that leaked on JamExclusive in 2009 from the cutting room floor.
As a lover of Charli XCX at her noisiest — this is doing it for me, cosplay or not *.*
The production towards the end is incredible but Carti sounds pretty terrible and indecipherable — would have liked an instrumental outro
I still have ZERO idea what she is going for
at the same time I've had "iloveitiloveitiloveitiloveitiloveitiloveit I LUV IT" stuck in my head since the first listen
What a fascinating song. I'm not sure if I think it's terrible, or so bad that it's good?
The video however - I LOVE.
I f***ing LOVE the video - especially the blindfolded dance sequence at the middle 8.
The song needs another chorus after the rap.
#77 debut on Spotify UK
57 in todays mids.
I had no idea what to make of this on first play but I can't get enough of it at the moment, it's so infectious! "Slow down baby"
(and Playboi Carti's rap is hilarious, the way I can pick out like 4 words and 3 of them are profanities)
The best thing this abomintion has gifted the world is the Youtube comments;
"this song gave me an aneurysm, I had an anxiety attack trying to focus on the beat and off line vocals."
"Carti’s verse feels like when you try to tell your friends about that amazing dream that you had."
"Carti the first artist to rap a verse entirely in ancient dark magic incantations. Like I’m pretty sure if you read the lyrics to his verse out loud, you’d like unleash a demon or put a curse on somebody"
"Aint gonna lie, needing 9 writers for this song is actually humiliating"
"Song makes as much sense as the collab…"
"I'm obsessed with how atrocious this is?"
"Aint gonna lie, needing 9 writers for this song is actually humiliating"
This one cracked me up
I'm fully obsessed with this idc
#1 on my personal chart now
Debuts at #81 in the US
This is absolute dirge, definitely got the winner for the worst chorus of 2024 already sewn up.
She came on during Lana Del Rey's headline set at Coachella last night to perform this:
Lana going from having Billie on week 1 to Camilla on week 2, the downgrade
Not her walking out on stage and just aimlessly swearing, I want to like her but she makes me cringe.
She needs to bury this asap
It's wild how much public opinion of her and her career has changed since late 2017/early 2018 when Havana and her debut album became a global number 1 and it looked like the birth of a new megastar.
