It should be there at midnight, as it’s appearing in other countries at the moment smile.gif

With the first single now, I'd have been surprised if the album wasn't out before Christmas.

I wonder if Wonderland suffered for not releasing in Q4.

Posted by: Babyboy 22nd September 2023, 04:27 PM

It's made by 12 tracks.

They might announce it closer to the release or might hold back and release it at a later date.

Hopefully we will get a deluxe but this us their first release on a new label so they might handle things differently.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 24th September 2023, 08:54 AM

It will be interesting to see what approach they take and what opening sales will be like.
I wonder can they manage around 50k?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 24th September 2023, 02:33 PM

I think I'll guess between 40-50k.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 24th September 2023, 04:31 PM

Hopefully they can get the number 1 this time as Wonderland missed out to Ed Sheeran even though it had sales of over 113,000

Posted by: pippa 24th September 2023, 06:54 PM

Having sales of that calibre and not achieve Number 1 is both annoying and disappointing.

Posted by: Charlatan 25th September 2023, 07:56 PM

Bonus track 'Serenity' on the HMV Exclusive version.

Not digging the new single so far.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 25th September 2023, 08:01 PM

Im not either, i am playing it to try and take to it but so far it aint working.

Posted by: Charlatan 25th September 2023, 10:43 PM

It's strange, isn't it. To launch a new album era with such a weak track is so unlike them. It sounds like a B-side at best, even then I'd say that's being generous.

Just hoping the album is stronger.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 25th September 2023, 10:56 PM

Ya im really hoping for much much stronger on the album, maybe its a case of when they released Sure as the lead single on Nobody Else when almost every other song on the album was better than it.

Posted by: Charlatan 25th September 2023, 11:46 PM

I'd forgotten about Sure as lead. It's grown on me over the years but its a song that's just sort of 'there' in their discography.

Is there any news on who they worked with on the new album? Did they work with John Shanks again at all?

Posted by: Padamic Tension 26th September 2023, 07:59 PM

Sure is easily their most forgotten number 1 and it was probably a song that was either a lead or not a single at all, its crazy to think that a song like sure though was the lead single over classics such as Back for Good and Never Forget. I know it all worked out in the end as all 3 went number 1 but i think the album would have sold better if Sure wasnt the lead.

Posted by: pippa 3rd October 2023, 11:03 PM

The comeback is extremely flat in the early stages.
They need to up their game in the weeks ahead.

Posted by: Better Man 11th October 2023, 09:42 PM

A little bit sad there are no songs with Jay or Rob, even as featuring at some songs.

So more likely Oasis will be back together earlier than these guys smile.gif

Posted by: Padamic Tension 14th October 2023, 09:35 AM

I think there is more of a chance of Robbie returning even as a guest appearance than Jason, I think Jason made his money and just wants to wait completly out of the limelight which is understandable as I don't think Jason hugely enjoyed the whole fame aspect.
I'm just thinking they have never done more than 3 studio albums without a line up change so if tgey do another album after This Life as ac3 piece it will be a first.

There had been some posts with people discussing 'Windows' not charting well, while others explain that for legacy acts the album is the important release. I start to think that neither single nor album are really important as the sales cannot feed the artist(s). Both are only the hook for the tour.

Although on a tour, most artists would only perform a few songs from any new album

I think new material is just needed by the artist as part of their growth and progression through their career. For legacy acts outside of the most devout fans, most of the audience are only there for the hits and don't care about new material.

With physical album sales so, so low now -I often wonder if it's worth the effort of producing new music - but I guess they "have" to otherwise there is no moving forward and growing as an artist.

Labels have to struggle to make money directly from album sales in the current sales market.

They are releasing the singles fairly fast.

Posted by: ___∆___ 31st October 2023, 07:37 PM

Interesting at the rate they are getting the singles out - I guess they are trying to build on streaming as much as possible as that’s what will let them down and we could see them following everyone else recently with a 3-4 week chart run.

This is great, probably my favourite of the three so far! Very catchy.

just over 2 weeks now to go to the album release so the promo will start kicking in.

I wonder how this album ill do for them even though it is only the pull for the tour

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 10th November 2023, 08:18 AM

The title track has been playlisted by Heart and Capital. Heart isn’t too much of a surprise, but it’s great to see Capital on board!

Posted by: Padamic Tension 13th November 2023, 04:22 PM

They are doing the Late Late Show here in Ireland in 2 weeks time which should give the album a nice sales lift.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 19th November 2023, 03:07 PM

Well just a week to and we will have the album, it's the least excited I've been for a new take that album but I'm hoping it will have something I like.

Posted by: Charlatan 20th November 2023, 04:20 PM

Yeah, feels very strange to know there's a new album out in only 4 days time. Not much fanfare at all.

Keeping my expectations in check. Wasn't a fan of Wonderland and although Windows has grown on me somewhat (that acoustic version is great), I'm not overly fussed on the other two new tracks.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 20th November 2023, 10:02 PM

There does seem to be little fanfare at the moment but im sure they will be promoting all next week to help the album.

Posted by: nirvanamusic 20th November 2023, 10:23 PM

I like the fact the album will be vocal harmony led. That is after all what they were formed around, and moved away from with the later albums.

Posted by: neill2407 20th November 2023, 11:54 PM

I like windows and this life. Not so fussed about the Mark track but this album feels more low key than any of their others. I’m sure it will reach no1 as sales aren’t high but I think it will get a big drop in week 2.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 22nd November 2023, 01:56 AM

Hopefully they can get number 1 as outside week 1 I can't see it doing that great.

Take That review, This Life: Cosy collection of durable, hummable, very English songs
Gary Barlow and co prove to be a safely uplifting choice this festive season
Helen Brown

Slogging through the housework to Take That’s ninth album, This Life, I notice a gentle uptick in my mood. Nothing dramatic. No grand romantic swooning over the laundry basket. Just a hummable, toe-tappable companionship as the band work through their very English gripes and consolations (rainy days, lost loves, muddled plans) to the jaunty shrug of Gary Barlow’s easy-hook, mustn’t grumble melodies. “No way tomorrow is golden,” they concede on single “This Life”, like a weary co-worker popping a cuppa on your desk, but “a new day can be anything you want”.

It reminds me that whoever chose Take That to promote Marks & Spencer’s back in 2008 knew their stuff. The boy band once pelted with thongs on stage had, by then, matured nicely into a man band you’d trust to sell sensible knickers and cosy sweaters. Like any group of mates formed in the Nineties, including TV’s Friends, Take That have weathered storms and suffered attrition but, ultimately, they connect us to a more hopeful era.

The band lost the rackety charisma of solo star Robbie Williams back in 1995 and the comic camaraderie of Jason Orange a decade later (now rumoured to be living an “off-grid” life in the Cotswolds). However, earlier this year, the remaining trio proved a safely uplifting choice to unite a divided nation at the king’s coronation concert, with Howard Donald and Mark Owen beaming fraternal warmth into Barlow’s solidly crafted songs. You only have to clock the perfect way he turns the tune of “Back for Good” (1995), on the line “in the twist of separation” to feel the smooth satisfaction of his very domestic craft in action. It’s like watching a potter flick a spout into the rim of a jug. Nothing too showy, but a practised touch that makes the whole thing work.

This Life finds Barlow pouring out similarly comforting mugs of song. Songs you can safely dunk a digestive into. It opens rather mournfully with “Keep Your Head Up” – layers of vocals steaming up a window of synths while a piano motif repeats like raindrops trickling down glass. “Keep your mind strong, your wings wide,” runs the cautiously motivational message, “Let go, instead of holding on…” The trio then speed into steering-wheel-tapper “Windows”. Like the entirety of the Jonas Brothers’ latest album, the track dials into the family-friendly Seventies soft rock of bands like America with its casual electric guitars and falsetto yearnings. There’s a touch of Billy Joel and Joe Jackson to the descending piano chord stomp of “This Life”. Barlow knocks out affable, oatmeal anthemic choruses on songs like “March of the Hopeful” (“Don’t change a thing about my heart!”), “Brand New Sun” (“Hey hey hey!”), and the banjo-accented “We Got All Day” (“Alright! Slow down! We got all day-ay-ay!”).

There’s a little Police-era Sting to the slightly spiky vocal and bass line of “Days I Hate Myself”, driven by an engagingly lonely keyboard line. Meanwhile, “Mind Full of Madness” is propelled by a twitchy pulse indebted to the Rocky III theme song “Eye of the Tiger” and lyrics which, heartbreakingly, appear to reference Barlow’s grief over his stillborn daughter, Poppy. You might catch a little of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” sway to “The Champion”, which feels like an answer to Robbie’s “Strong” (1999) on which – decades before Netflix documentaries existed – he deconstructed the “mess” of his celebrity: “And this is real ’cause I feel fake?”. Now Barlow and co are taking the point further, suggesting that strength lies in owning the vulnerability. Over slickly pattered bongos, they accept that being “a little bit yesterday, a little bit broken” can still leave a man “feeling like a king”. Reassuring.

Those preparing to face family members with differing world views this festive season may find solace in “One More Word”, a track that builds from the tenderness of close connection (“I had to hold your hand in the waiting room”) to the acknowledgement of disagreements (“I drink your wine/ I take your point of view/ Take mine?… ’Cos I love you”).

I was stupidly snobby about Take That in the Nineties. All of us indie kids were (even as we all bought identical M&S charcoal grandad knitwear). But like those cardigans, the band have proved their practical, likeable durability. I don’t think I’ll ever have my emotional world shaken or thrilled by anything they make, but I’m grateful for the security of their reliable wool-cotton mix and what – over the years – has come to feel like a nationwide friendship. Long live the III.

I haven't ordered a copy yet, i always support a take that release as i would have always genuinely enjoyed their music, im not feeling this new era at all but feel a little guilty not supporting the album but the guilt might get the better of me later in the week but i really can see myself waiting it out for a price reduction and then i will buy it for the collection.

Posted by: nirvanamusic 24th November 2023, 11:10 AM

Songs I liked: This Life, March Of The Hopeful, Days I Hate Myself, Mind Full Of Madness, Windows, Where We Are.

Having heard the album, they could have put out something more diverse than Brand New Sun as a single. It made the three singles all be in the same vein and that may have put people off.

Posted by: gooddelta 24th November 2023, 12:39 PM

It's not a bad album at all. I really like One More Word, and have also favourited March Of The Hopeful, Days I Hate Myself, Mind Full Of Madness and Where We Are. Plus I've been enjoying This Life as a single.

Some of the songs are kind of similar to the sound of Beautiful World and The Circus, and I like the album more than Wonderland.

For me it's missing a true 10/10 moment, which they haven't had since These Days, or a really killer ballad like Back For Good or Rule The World.

Also I really didn't like the opening track, Keep Your Head Up, the vocal on it sounds odd. I'm sure it was produced to sound a certain way but it's not for me.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 27th November 2023, 03:20 PM

Keep your head up, i do like the piano going through the song but don't like the way they use their vocals on it, the song doesn't go anywhere either, i felt i was waiting for take off that doesn't happen.
Windows as i have previously said doesn't do much for me as i don't like the high pitch by Gary in the chorus
This Life, i do like this its more uplifting but i would prefer a lower tone in Garys voice for the this life line.
Brand New sun, its placed well on the album as the previous songs are very Gary heavy, plus its more guitar than piano which changes it up a bit, the chorus us catchy enough too.
March of the hopeful Nice to hear Howards vocals here and think this should have been placed after windows on the album, i like this.
Days i hate myself, this has a very demo sound to it, its just feels like it wasn't fully produced in the chorus but it improves as it goes on.
The Champion, Mark using the softer tones of his voice here which work but the song doesnt really go anywhere
We got all day its an enjoyable chorus, and it builds up nicely and the 2nd half of the song is strong and its a good mixture of all their vocals
Mind full of madness This one grew on me the most on 2nd listen, the chorus build up nicely and i like that the chorus is very Howard sounding and in other parts it reminds a little bit of giants which is a good thing
Time and time again, they are definitely using their vocals differently on this album which works in some parts such as the chorus here but the high notes they use I find annoying for the most part throughout the album.
One more word nice to again see Howard at the forefront here, shame the song doesn't really go anywhere.
Where we are the first half of the song i was this is a bit boring but it gets going around the 2 and half minutes mark and closes out nicely.

Overall the album wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, like others said it misses having any 10 out of 10 moments and there are many skip tracks on it but i really enjoyed march of the hopeful, we got all day, and mind full of madness which is probably my fave based on hearing the album in full twice.
Not that it would have made any difference chart wise but i don't think they picked the best singles to promote the album as there is stronger songs on the album.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th November 2023, 05:23 PM

Wow, 103k sales in the Monday update! It could beat Wonderland’s opening figures, which were 113k.

Very very impressive, especially with how much album sales in general have dropped since then.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 27th November 2023, 05:33 PM

That is highly impressive and i will be honest i didnt even think it would sell half that for the week.
Gold already and it would be nice if it could improve on Wonderlands opening.
Imagine if they had gone all out on the multi format route what there sales would like.
This also means its the 4th consecutive decade of them having a number 1 album.

Posted by: neill2407 27th November 2023, 11:46 PM

I’ve heard the album. I got the HMV exclusive which included serenity. The album takes a few listens and isn’t as instant as some of their other work. There are some tracks which aren’t great but overall it’s decent.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 28th November 2023, 12:49 AM

Hoping they can go top 5 here in Ireland this week, they have a big promotion slot here on the late late show Friday night which should give them a nice cushion for week 2.

Posted by: milly 28th November 2023, 11:08 AM

I actually think this is one of their best albums yet, maybe even top 3 for me. Glad to see the chart and sales reflect the fans' standing.

I totally agree. The three singles chosen were all one and the same. They are basically the retro '70s Americana vocal harmony tracks.

They should have shown the diversity of the album more. It's not that Mark and Howard can't have leads, but like Milly above said, the two Gary led songs, 'Windows' and 'This Life' have charted on the Download Chart. 'Brand New Sun' didn't make the Top 100, and it was released in a less competitive market to 'This Life' single also.

'Brand New Sun' is a good track. However, Mark and Howard have to have the exact right song to make an impact. Clearly Gary picks up the ears of the general listener more. 'Where We Are' led by Gary is doing well on downloads also in Germany, Switzerland, Austria after Wetten Dass?

I know downloads don't equate to mainstream success (Top 100) these days due to the ridiculous weight put on streaming as opposed to actual purchased content--baffling to me-- However, they are now the best way for them to judge what is actually proving popular.

'This Life' has been climbing on the Download Chart the past few weeks, and this Friday I believe it will creep inside the top 20. Just before all the Christmas songs blow it away.

Since streaming has had its impact on Take That in the main singles chart after 'Giants' made #13 on the main chart, their last chart placement.

The UK Download 100 Chart for them has been as follows:

New Day (2017): Did Not Chart.
Pray - Odyssey version (2018): #75.
Out of Our Heads (2018): #25.
Babe - Odyssey version (2018): #76.
Greatest Day (Robin Schulz Rework) (2023): #7
Windows (2023): #3.
Brand New Sun (2023): Did Not Chart.
This Life (2023): #21.

I wonder if there will be any videos?

Since 2017, Robbie, Gary, and Mark have been in the same position with no singles on the main 100 chart. Placings on Download Chart.

Robbie:

Mixed Signals (2017): #85.
Time For Change (2019): #87.
Hey Tiger (2020): #89.
Strange Days (with The Struts) (2020): #25.
Can't Stop Christmas (2020): #9.
Angels - XXV version (2022): #71.
Lost - XXV version (2022): #25.

Gary:

Elita (with Michael Buble & Sebastian Yatra) (2020): #14.
Incredible (2020): #19.
Incredible Christmas (2020): #94.
How Christmas Is Supposed To Be (with Sheridan Smith) (2021): #68.

Mark:

You Only Want Me (2022): #76.
Magic (2022): #75.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 28th November 2023, 09:08 PM

They definitely took the wrong route with the singles picked as they could have had more variation based on whats on the album and good to see this life (song) getting at least some attention.

Posted by: All★bySmashMouth 29th November 2023, 06:16 PM

Not sure what to feel about this being a departure from the electronic and highly upbeat stuff I enjoyed a lot from their last three albums.

It is not bad as a whole though, still more enjoyable than the 2006-2009 eras (which reminded me of when listening to the album).

My least favourite is strangely the title track. Lyrics are a bit lacking for the theme.

The opening track is great. Made me think of some indie albums/tracks in early 2010s like Bon Iver or Alt-J or Coldplay 'Midnight'. I can't quite pinpoint well what music I am thinking of.

02 March of the hopeful

Have put peaks for all 9 studio albums and 3 Greatest Hits alongside each to show career trajectory. The first figure being Take That & Party and the twelfth This Life. An X denotes that particular album in sequence didn't chart in Top 40/100. I have excluded the live albums.

Take That & Party, Everything Changes, Nobody Else, Greatest Hits, Never Forget: The Ultimate Collection, Beautiful World, The Circus, Progress, III, Wonderland, Odyssey, This Life.

Belgium (Wallonia)#140. / X-7-2-4-X-X-X-32-X-75-X-X.

I think EMI has done a great job for them. However, I feel they should re-establish themselves in some other European territories, like they did with the Beautiful World release. Netherlands, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland and some promo in Italy would be good for them I think.

In Ireland they now have a #1 album as a 5,4 and 3.
In Germany they now have a top 10 album as a 5,4, and 3.
In Spain, 'This Life' is their highest charting album since the 2005 reunion and first top 10 since 'Greatest Hits' (1996).
In Switzerland, 'This Life' is their highest charting album as a 3.
In Belgium (Flanders) it is their higest charting album since the 2005 reunion. *Flanders is the Dutch speaking northern part of Belgium and Wallonia the southern French speaking region of the country.*
In Austria it is their highest charting album as a 3.

Ireland#1.
Germany#8.

'Wonderland' got to #19 in Germany and #3 in Ireland, so pretty good going already!

Posted by: Padamic Tension 1st December 2023, 06:55 PM

Really happy it made number 1 here in Ireland as I wasn't sure if it would, they have promo here tonight which will help week 2.
Great uk sales and it opened higher than wonderland and odyssey.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 2nd December 2023, 02:43 AM

Take That performed 3 songs on the Late Late Show here in Ireland tonight as well as doing an interview
They performed windows, back for good and this life,
This life was really good as was back for good but windows which they sang first is still meh for me.
Hopefully it will help them have a decent week 2 here in the album chart next Friday.

Posted by: Sydney11 2nd December 2023, 10:28 AM

I enjoyed their performance of Windows. It's a grower ...

Posted by: Padamic Tension 2nd December 2023, 11:02 AM

With windows it kind of annoys me the more I hear it and its probably my least fave song on the whole album. The album isn't usually the type of music I go for in general but the songs are growing on me all the time and I am enjoying it although in time I'm not sure if it will be an album I will go back to much.

Posted by: pippa 2nd December 2023, 09:38 PM

The appetite remains large for new Take That albums based on the opening sales.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 3rd December 2023, 11:46 AM

They opening sales are great, I hope it can stick around even for a couple of weeks and pick up some casual Christmas sales.

Posted by: pippa 3rd December 2023, 06:17 PM

Is there more promotion coming?

Posted by: Padamic Tension 4th December 2023, 06:40 PM

Not to bad so far for its second week, its number 9 today.

Posted by: nirvanamusic 4th December 2023, 08:33 PM

I will update this where relevant as more chart positions come in. The main album to album breakdown by countries is further up on page 4.

In Ireland they now have a #1 album as a 5,4 and 3.
In Germany they now have a top 10 album as a 5,4, and 3.
In Spain, 'This Life' is their highest charting album since the 2005 reunion and first top 10 since 'Greatest Hits' (1996).

Posted by: Padamic Tension 4th December 2023, 09:16 PM

I know sales are down in most countries but its still good to see the album doing so well and giving them some of their best chart peaks for years.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 9th December 2023, 12:17 AM

Number 6 this week which isnt bad at all for week 2.
Down from 1 to 22 here in Ireland though which i didnt expect after them doing promo here.

Posted by: pippa 10th December 2023, 03:28 PM

They are performing on Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 10th December 2023, 04:35 PM

I really hope they dont perform windows and go with something else instead, id nearly say anything else from the album.
Hopefully it will help the album hold up a bit again this week.

Posted by: darrens94 10th December 2023, 07:48 PM

They performed ‘This Life’ which was the perfect choice in my opinion. I’m not quite sure why ‘Windows’ was chosen over that in the first place as the lead single.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 10th December 2023, 09:06 PM

Great choice and I do like the song, up to 6 on itunes now.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 11th December 2023, 02:20 AM

This life climbs to 5 now biggrin.gif

Posted by: Padamic Tension 11th December 2023, 08:41 PM

Album is #11 in todays mids, they might get lucky and get a 3rd week top 10, Its holding up better than i thought it would.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 15th December 2023, 06:47 PM

Number 9, not bad, 3 weeks top 10.

Posted by: pippa 18th December 2023, 01:34 AM

Very nice chart run so far.
This Life should at least get 2 more weeks of a decent placement.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 19th December 2023, 12:01 AM

16 in todays mids, hope fully it will be no lower on Friday.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 29th December 2023, 11:49 PM

Well after 4 fairly steady weeks the inevitable big drop came this week as the album drops from 17 to 45 on week 5, bringing sales to around 140k, a bit like Wonderland its likely it will never make platinum and if it does it will take a long long time.
Who knows maybe they will do a re release sometime in 2024 to help give it a boost.

Posted by: spiceboy 31st December 2023, 12:35 PM

They must be the only act to have a #1 album across a so many different line ups!?

Posted by: Hassaan 31st December 2023, 01:54 PM

Yes, I believe they're the only group to have a number one as a 5-piece, 4-piece and 3-piece.

This Life's chart run so far has been 1-6-9-17-45. In terms of just album sales, it's 1-4-4-5-5.

Their previous albums (particularly Circus and Progress) saw a sales boost during their tour, but I think they did a re-release of sorts around then too.

Both beautiful world and the circus had re releases although the circus re release charted as a seperate album.

It's crazy tge 12th best on sales is not enough for the top 100, actual sales need more weight.

They are touring Europe, Middle East, and Australia for the album. 'This Life'! More potentially to follow.

Czech Republic: Never.
Denmark: 2023.
Germany: 2019.
Hungary: Never.
Ireland: 2019.
Italy: 2019.
Malta: Never.
Poland: Never.
Portugal: Never.
Slovakia: Never.

In the UK the album has just disappeared with a feeling the era came and went very quickly.

Posted by: nirvanamusic 18th February 2024, 02:52 PM

I thought that also. Hopefully the tour will push the album back into the charts.

It did, although I feel touring is considered their priority now.

It seems most albums don't last very long on the charts these days.

Posted by: pippa 21st February 2024, 11:29 PM

I don't think any further singles will be released.

This is fantastic and what I wanted them to do in terms of finding where their international audience is.

Posted by: nirvanamusic 4th April 2024, 10:19 AM

They are playing their first ever shows in Malta, 19th-20th October.

However, they pulled their two first ever South African dates to accomodate, with no reasoning.

A lot of fans are unhappy, understandably, at the way it has been handeled. No communication or apology.

Posted by: ___∆___ 20th April 2024, 08:07 AM

Disappointed the album hasn’t managed to sneak back into the charts off the back of the Ant & Dec promo, the tour, £4.99 iTunes reduction and the HMV sale (£5.49 for the CD and £14.99 for the vinyl).

Hopefully it’s clocking up some decent extra sales but really thought it would make a reappearance.

That's not bad for a Take That album in 2023 which very much felt like it flew under the radar!

Especially as it seems that for most artists, albums fall off dramatically in sales after the first week.

Interested to see what the man i am and serenity are like, this is probably a release i will be waiting for it to be reduced in price at some point beforei buy but good to see them putting in the effort to push the album again, you and me did well on the sales chart so at least there was some interest in it

Posted by: neill2407 29th April 2024, 09:32 PM

I’ve heard serenity. It was on the 13 track limited edition standard edition of the album which was only available in HMV.

Is the deluxe cd a limited issue?

Posted by: nirvanamusic 6th May 2024, 07:29 PM

I know it is a long way off at the moment but which song do we feel has the potential to go Silver (200,000) over time?

Windows,
Brand New Sun,
This Life,
You and Me,
All Wrapped Up.

?

Posted by: Padamic Tension 6th May 2024, 07:55 PM

You and Me although it will take a long time.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 6th May 2024, 08:55 PM

I can see the title track being the most consistently streamed.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 12th May 2024, 05:12 PM

Possible as it would have the advantage that way.
The tour might have helped get a few extra sales/streams.

Posted by: neill2407 16th May 2024, 08:58 PM

Does anyone know if deluxe CD is being sold anywhere else apart from the online store? Neither Amazon or HMV have it available to preorder and postage is added on if you order from the store making it quite expensive for just a few new tracks.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 16th May 2024, 11:05 PM

Im hoping its more widely available but when i saw your post i just checked goldendiscs where i usually buy my cds from here in Ireland and its not listed sad.gif ohmy.gif

It’s certainly looking that way…I can’t believe the deluxe CD isn’t available anywhere apart from the store. I’ve held off buying as don’t wanna pay a silly price for a few new tracks.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 22nd May 2024, 11:14 PM

I really dont understand why they are doing that way, it doesnt really make much sense.

Posted by: neill2407 25th May 2024, 01:09 PM

It’s not available in HMV store so ended up ordering it from the online store but I begrudge paying over £16 for a CD I already own albeit a handful of new tracks.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 25th May 2024, 08:52 PM

It's a complete mess of a release.

Posted by: gooddelta 26th May 2024, 09:22 AM

Yeah I'm going to leave this for now too and see if it drops down in price at some point, £16 including postage is very steep. I already have Serenity as I got the HMV version of the original album, and I'm not massively fussed on the acoustic and live versions. £10 from HMV I might have considered.

I listened to the new studio songs on Spotify and really only particularly like You & Me, which we've already heard and I'm sure it will pop up on the summer Now album anyway in terms of getting it physically.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 27th May 2024, 10:53 PM

Interesting to see how it will chart this week.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 28th May 2024, 05:17 PM

37 in todays mids which probably means it will be lucky to stay top 75 on Friday.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 31st May 2024, 07:31 PM

Number 60 this week which isn't great but a lot better than I expected.
To think there was a time a re release from them like this could challenge for number 1.

Posted by: gooddelta 31st May 2024, 11:03 PM

I think Progressed did at least basically offer a whole new album of new tracks though, and was also of course stocked widely and properly, not just on their website at a high price.

Also, the tracks were really quite unusual and striking for a band like Take That to put out - whereas the essentially three new tracks (plus a former HMV bonus track) on this re-release are just more of the same average material for me sadly. You & Me is as good as some of the strong album tracks on the main album but the other two are below par for me.

Posted by: Padamic_Tension 1st June 2024, 08:54 AM

Agree you and me is great and should have been on the original release the others aren't anything more than half decent b sides.

Posted by: neill2407 2nd June 2024, 07:00 PM

I received the deluxe edition this week. It’s an odd release tbh. It comes in 2 separate jewel cases. There is a jewel case with the standard album and the additional tracks are in another jewel. I’ve never known any other release like it. Surely, the tracks would have fitted all on 1 cd or just have a double jewel case.
