I like your thinking - turning Reigns heel is the only way he'll be able to get over with the fans (just like The Rock eventually did after a shaky start as Rocky Maivia) and a double turn with Rollins going face would work really well. Ambrose would then become the basis of a "which way will he go" storyline that can play up until Summerslam when, on the night, he shows which side he's chosen (and will probably attack both of them!)
Roman Reigns is already on his way to being a full heel. Since defeating Triple H he's started saying "I'm not a good guy, I'm not a bad guy, I'm THE guy" every week and he fought side by side with Bray Wyatt who is traditionally one of the top heels in the company. He must be a tweener at the moment though cause he's still wrestling heels like the League Of Nations.
Jeez, as long as they aren't turning Bray Wyatt face!
Has to recover from injury first
yeah I hope they don't turn Bray completely face, it really doesn't go with his character. Saying that though being a tweener won't harm him I don't think!
Chyna has died.
I'm actually really gutted, I know she's had a lot of problems in the past couple of years but I remember how much I enjoyed her wrestling matches when I was growing up and whether WWE will admit it or not she was one of their biggest ever stars, It's just a shame that everything went wrong due to Paul (Triple H) having an affair with Steph which then ended up with Chyna being a pornstar.
Chyna changed WWE and the term "diva" as she became IC champion and entered on numerous royal rumbles
Whaaaaat????? OMFG!
Can't say I'm really that shocked when bearing in mind her life in the last 10 years. Stilllllll I just hope Sunny won't be next :/
Absolutely devastated
It's hit me so hard! Hardest WWE related death so far for me. she truly pioneered wrestling for women and paved a way for women in sports in general.
Happy Birthday to John Cena who's 39 today seriously can't believe he's going to be 40 next year. Doesn't look that old at all, more like 33/34!
Ha! So, John Cena is a month younger than me. Definitely think I'm looking best for it
I feel like I couldn't care less about Roman vs AJ Styles at payback. Such a DUD of a title match.
More excited about KO Vs Sami!
Finn Balor tonight?
I actually can't even at the current state of the women division again.
I don't get why we need to have one feud instead of two? I know the current plans were Becky Lynch v Emma but that seems to have forgotten about, I seriously hope that Natalya becomes women champion for a month / two, I really think she deserved to receive one final push because I doubt she'll be this relevant for a while which is a great shame because she's the best technical diva performer.
I'm frustrated for both Paige & Sasha Banks, I mean why are these two not feuding? They put on some incredible matches on Raw but WWE seem to want to save Sasha winning the title until Summerslam and Paige just seems to be forgotten about which is a massive shame.
They actually gave her a tribute. Wow. It's a shame they weren't there for her before and actually fixed the bridge. But still a classy move on WWE's behalf.
Bobby Heenan has been hospitalised after taking a fall. I don't wanna sound morbid or pessimistic but given the rate of well known people passing this year I'd not be surprised if something like this then leads to 'Bobby Heenan passes away at 71' I really hope I'm wrong. Really need a break from too many deaths as it is.
I was watching Eva Marie vs Bayley the other day and it's a shame fans are booing because she really can't wrestle but I do find her quite attractive I'll give her more of a chance though. Having that Jax girl might be the best thing to help her get over a bit more!
It's sad that whenever I see that a new post has been made here my first thought is "who died in WWE now?"
Eva is awful. But I HATE the treatment of her by WWE fans.
She was only ever hired as someone to use for 'Total Divas'. Nothing else. She herself went to Triple H/Vince and said, "I want to learn how to wrestle". She's trained really hard and I understand that she most certainly isn't ready yet (not even for NXT), but I really admire that she is really wanting to learn and improve in the ring. People have to remember that, prior to signing with WWE, divas and superstars have years and YEARS of underground training/matches etc... Eva's had what, 2/3? I agree that it's WWE's fault to put her on TV so soon, but with all that in consideration, what is she to do? She's there to make money and she'd be a fool not to do it!
I'm really intrigued by her journey and to see how far she can actually go in the company. Because I find her watchable (despite being terrible) and she is ridiculously marketable (also, I've read numerous reports that say she is a genuine and sweet person in reality).
ATM, the problem she has is that in her matches, there's no desire or passion and everything just comes off as half-arsed and sloppy. If she can work on that, I really think she'll at least become "ok" in the near future! But WWE fans should NOT be putting her down so much for at least trying, because what message is that giving out to their young fans?
Damien Sandow, King Barrett, Santino Marella, Cameron, Hornswoggle, Alex Riley, El Torito and Zeb Colter have all been released from WWE today.
This post from Cameron might have had something to do with her being released: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sol8np
Looks like there's a new WWE couple in town.... Paige and erm ... Del Rio I swear my eyes are seeing things
Very unusual pair if true. The Disney pics of Del Rio kissing paige look creepy as anything lmao. Also isn't Alberto married with kids? Lol if true I guess I am happy for them but this is just so so random haha!
Cody Rhodes has been released from WWE
He says he quit. Possibly for his own good but there aren't many big alternatives out there to go and join. Probably realised he'll not have his Dad's influence behind the scenes any more too.
I'm guessing Dustin won't be hanging around either.
Seth Rollins is back!
Just been reading online that Smack Down will be moving to Tuesday nights starting 19 July, and will be a live show just as Raw is, and will have it's own distinctive line up....wonder if this means there'll be a 'world champion' for the Smack Down brand....
Yep. Split brands is coming back! I'm all for it. It'll make for some really interesting feuds and hopefully, with Smackdown going live, it'll make SD a big deal again. I remember when I was younger, I was a bigger fan of SD than I ever was RAW!
This interview makes me laugh
"Drink it in maaaaaaaaan"
Ambrose champion. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssss
I'm SO ecstatic about this. Absolutely amazing. It kinda makes sense, considering the brand split is soon and we didn't get two MITB matches. So I guess they had to have it make sense for such a small time frame and to avoid confusion by the time the split happens.
Im not a bad guy im not a good guy im not even THE guy i'm actually the guy who just got his ass suspended!
Ie Roman has been suspended by WWE
Also I'm really feeling for Becky keep getting inserted in feuds where she keeps getting beat up by another female wrestler i am looking forward to her feud with HEEL Natalya tho *.* and pleased Sasha is back. Make her champ now
Could be a good way for him to turn heel - "don't say your prayers, don't take your vitamins, do steroids, be world champion" etc.
Minority I know, but I am LOVING the way they're going with Becky's character. She's someone who REALLY benefits from being an "under dog" and it just makes you warm so much more to her. I'm also thinking taking Sasha off of TV has not only helped Sasha out even more, but it has also helped Becky, Charlotte & Dana (and even Natalya!) too.
The women's division is the strongest it's been in well over a decade now and that's even without the likes of Bayley, Asuka, Alexa Bliss etc.. being on the main roster.
Agreed about the womens division being at it's strongest rn Jon. However there's something irking me about Dana. I dunno she just seems too amateur and sloppy in the ring. I guess putting her with Charlotte is a good thing but she needs a bit more help on being a better wrestler imo.
Anyway as part of the draft WWE are looking at signing former WWE wrestlers to a 2-3 year contract to even out the rosters. Some of the names being contacted include Carlito, MVP, Goldberg, Rey Mysterio ( ) Jeff Hardy, Stevie Richards & Kurt Angle!
I really wanna see John Morrison & Shelton Benjamin back
Apparently, from what I've read elsewhere, Rey Mysterio WILL be returning to the WWE roster after his Lucha Underground contract is up, sometime in the next 6-12 months....
I really am so bored of Mysterio. He's gotten really boring with age for me. I guess a Rollins v Mysterio or Zayn v Mysterio could potentially be great though but only if Rey was like he was in 2003/04
Sasha & Paige *.* *.* *.*
Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Sasha's absence has made the WWE Universe miss her and she gets such a huge pop, especially last week! Paige keeps on getting great pops too! Looking forward to seeing these two feud once Sasha gets the belt.
I don't know if any of you have seen this and I know that it's not WWE but take a look at this. It's probably the weirdest wrestling match I've ever seen.
One year ago today, marks the anniversary of the Divas Revolution...
I have no qualms in saying that it is my favourite RAW moment in years and years. Everything about it is perfect and although it was a bumpy middle, the divas revolution has been INSANE. They've gone from "Divas" to "Superstars". No more "Divas Championship". They've stolen the show on numerous occasions and most importantly, imo, the grandest stage of them all 'Wrestlemania 32'! One of my favourite matches of this year, if not my favourite. Sasha, Charlotte & especially Becky should be so proud of how far they've come and what they've done for the women's division. They've put the women talent on NOTICE in the WWE. Amazing. Even getting storylines outside of the Women's Championship.
It's really incredible what they've achieved in the last year.
^ and now Bayley makes her main event debut teaming with Sasha *.* looking forward to seeing how they use her... If this isn't a one off for now.
I'd imagine they'll put the title on Sasha she'll feud with Charlotte, Nia Jax & eventually turn heel and lose to Bayley months later!
Sasha Banks is the new WWE Women's Champion after defeating Charlotte in a really good match, it is the best women's match I've seen since the triple threat match at WrestleMania earlier this year.
So happy for her. It's about time. She deserves it so much and I'm so excited to see the feuds she has!
Finn Balor vs Seth for the new title at Summerslam, beating Reigns too (he's definitely getting punished haha)
Shaping up to potentially be a fantastic event with Lesnar v Orton too.
Yasss at Sasha being champ too
Nah Bálor was always expectes to be given a massive push once he got called up. I can see him losing to Rollins and feuding with him for a while over it! Before winning it at Survivor Series or something.
Shelton Benjamin returning *.* and Rhyno back on the smack down roster... feeling a tiny reminiscent of the old days aka 2003/04!
Interesting that Dolph will face Ambrose now. I sense one of them are going to turn heel.. Most likely Ziggler which is probably needed as I've gotten bored of babyface Dolph now. Might make him more serious now being chucked into the title picture and turning heel personally.
I just had a look on Wikipedia at the list of matches for Summerslam and this is what I saw
OMG it's the end of the world...... Reigns pushed down to mid card position total Cena treatment cause of the failed violation thingy.
Was there any point in bringing Jinder mahal back to the roster. No one cares about him
I think it's so they can get ready to create a tag team with his brother (or cousin? - the one who was in the Cruiserweight thing)
Nah. I think it's just Vince has realised that the fans don't want Reigns in the main title picture as I believe Vince is high on Seth and Finn right now. I'm surprised they're pushing for him straight into another title feud though. I'm happy though. I like Reigns and I really hope he turns completely heel very soon! He has the look and imo, the beard makes him look even more badass!
Ryback is gone from WWE today.
"Jon let's out a huge yaaaaaassss"
So Sasha loses her title due to minor injuries, but gets injured in a huge way during the show. I fear for her career at this point
Also, the Universal Title is DISGUSTING (Finn sustained an injury last night too, WTH!?) and, do we think Brock knows the difference between UFC and WWE? :/ Orton had 10 staples in his head last night. He is so wreckless and ruins things for me. The sooner WWE invest his money in some other talent the better.
So glad my Fearless Queen Nikki is back in action!!! But also #Justice4EvaMarie
Eva Marie is so unique. Its refreshing to see someone like her in WWE and literally start from scratch. It's a huge shame about her suspension because I actually enjoyed what they were doing with her character. I can't help but really want her to succeed. She just needs to learn how to smoothen her moveset and executions.
Nikki coming straight back in as a heel? Hopefully to give us a feud with Becky! I think the womens matches and rivalries are gonna top those on RAW, despite RAW having a stronger playing field. I'm excited.
https://streamable.com/yvwz
This is why The Miz is the most under appreciated talent on the entire WWE roster. What a brilliant promo/segment!
Mr Fuji has passed away aged 82.
Is this a face turn for Triple H?
http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/triple-h-hands-kevin-owens-wwe-universal-championship-on-raw-w436960
brilliant ending to Raw which was pretty meh on the whole!
Need to catch up with RAW but great to see Owens is now champ!
I'm enjoying that the brand split is allowing more superstars the chance to front WWE. I never would have expected Kevin Owens to win (which was the correct choice).
I'm enjoying the divas division more on Smackdown which surprises me, I'm finding myself rooting for Alexa Bliss right now although I'm wanting Nikki Bella to front divas division as I'm not a massive fan of Becky Lynch.
Alberto Del Rio has left WWE again. Paige will possibly leave as well as she's hardly being used at the moment and I think she got suspended as well just like Alberto Del Rio did.
Rumour has it, WWE threatened to fire Paige unless she split up with Del Rio!!
That seems a bit too extreme and I think it's more that Triple H probably gave her advice and told her to steer clear from ADR, more than "if you don't split up with him, we'll fire you".
Isn't Del Rio married anyway? that's wrong on his part if so to be dating someone else unless they are divorced.
I still find it a bit iffy that Alberto & Paige are a couple considering the age gap and sheer fact that they seem like polar opposites in terms of having a connection in similar interests. I do feel WWE is being a bit moronic threatening Paige to possibly be fired though. That's a bit uncalled for. I'd hate for Paige to leave when she's still so young & in the prime of her career not forgetting one of the best female wrestlers of this decades women's division...
Hey guys anyone tell me how many players in top 10 wwe divas
I'd guess about 10 WWE divas in the top 10!
---
I've already spoken to Lee and Rob, but Alexa Bliss is a flipping STAR! She's brilliant. Really looking forward to her WWE journey!
wwe is a big game in this world. mostly played in usa and other European countries.
<a href="http://paigewrestler.com/">Paige Wrestler</a>
any one tell me and guide me what is wwe?
how many players in wwe
too many
So you're asking what WWE is in one thread, yet in another thread you posted the answer to your own question?!
This:
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/ce/15/e1/ce15e12ae4854e7c8dea7a8557fcf9f0.jpg
Please can we keep all WWE questions on here if possible meetmuzammil. There isn't a need to put a thread on here with a question about WWE when there is already a very popular thread about the same subject.
Thank you.
Sasha v Charlotte main eventing Hell In A Cell *.* this is amazing news. I know we've discussed it on Facebook but thought it'd be worth bumping the thread to mention haha!
Apparently they might not be main eventing (as in last match) after all. They're gonna joint main event it I think.
We shall seeeeee
Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar rematch is going to take place, it might possibly be at Survivor Series.
That was absolutely ridiculous the way Goldberg squashed Brock Lesnar in less than 3 minutes at Survivor Series! For me the best match was the elimination match between the tag teams of Raw & Smackdown.
That escalated quickly!
Goldberg's declared his entry into the Royal Rumble match for 2017...Stephanie McMahon dangled the championship carrot in front of him, and he decided to go for it...
Alexa v Becky in a steel cage next week *.*
Upping the anti a bit with the woman's division lately!
Also the rumble should be brilliant this year with Goldberg, Lesnar AND The Undertaker in it
For the first time in years, I can't call a winner! Which makes it 10x more interesting! So excited for it this year! I have favourites and people who I think will win, but can't pick a sole winner.
I'd love Jericho to do it, coz it's one of the only things he hasnt quite managed yet and I kinda wanna see them set up Jerichi vs Owens for Universal Title! When Jericho wins that title, he'll be the only superstar to have held every single WWE title! Impressive!
The Undertaker is the bookmakers favourite to win the Royal Rumble but I don't think he'll win it. I think Braun Strowman might have a good chance of winning the rumble if Roman Reigns will be the defending Universal champion at WrestleMania.
I think they'll set up a Strowman/Taker WM match in the Rumble so I can't see Taker winning it.
I think Jericho/Owens is a lock for WM.
Reigns is gonna win the title at the Rumble and defend it in a Triple Threat at Mania with Goldberg (who WILL win the Rumble) and Lesnar. Vince is a stubborn bast*rd and he's going to continue shoving Reigns down out throats whether we like it or not.
Is The Undertaker retiring at the next Wrestlemania? If so, shouldn't they give him somebody better to work with than Vince McMahon's latest "big guy"? That said, Triple H will probably fancy being in one of the key matches so might get himself booked in against him.
I reckon if Taker wins the rumble it'll be Cena vs. AJ vs. Taker. However, if Taker doesn't win and Cena loses against AJ, it'll be Cena vs. Taker, I think.
Cena vs Undertaker would be fitting for Wrestlemania. It'd also take Cena out of the title picture which would probably please a lot of people
Jimmy Snuka has passed away.
Not surprising considering I was reading just the other day that he had terminal cancer.
Rip Superfly
It's probs why Tamina has taken longer to return from her injury.
Sad news.
I'm pretty sure the stress of his trial probably contributed to his death as well. At least he avoided that (not trying to be insensitive or anything)
Kurt Angle will be the first name to be inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame
Oh it's DAMN TRUE *.* Rumble appearance?
Is that a Rumble spoiler? If so, let me know. Coz I don't want to know anything about the Rumble (or returns until after the rumble) so I'll read it!
It's a HOF spoiler
Yeah! I imagined it would be when I saw WWE post that he was to be inducted! Nice, big name!
I saw that on Twitter this morning. Are they trying to induct people who are still active in order to get younger fans to watch the ceremony? Can't understand why he would get in before Rick Rude, Mike Rotunda, The British Bulldogs or Demolition.
The Royal Rumble is tonight and I'm very much looking forward to it! I think if Kevin Owens retains the Universal Championship then Chris Jericho will win the Royal Rumble.
Wish me luck, guys!
I just checked William Hill and Randy Orton is the 1/20 favourite to win the Royal Rumble
The Cena & Styles was literally PHENOMENAL. Say what you want about Cena etc but when he works with the likes of AJ & Kevin Owens they always bring the best out of him. Ugh at him tying Flairs record but it was inevitably going to happen someday!
The rumble was great but not amazing like last year's. The lack of any surprise legends or anything was really poor. They could have at least put 2 legends in as well as Samoa Joe over the likes of Enzo, Roman & James Elsworth then again despite Vince forcing Roman down everyone's throats and eliminating Taker.... It could all be ok i guess If they run with Reigns v undertaker at Wrestlemania and now finally use their brain and turn Roman into a brutal bad ass Heel!
As for Orton winning, well obviously it's a bit of a "really???" Type reaction but I guess Wyatt winning the title in the EC would be perfect and then retain at Wrestlemania to finally put him over.
Cena v Orton if that happens then Vince really needs to retire from the storyline stuff. No one wants that match EVERRRRR again :/
Last year's Royal Rumble was ok but I'm wracking my brains to remember a really good one in the past 15 years or so. It's one of the only things I make a habit of watching every year, that and some of Wrestlemania, but I might not bother from now on.
Some wrestlers were lying around on the floor for about 8 minutes while they set up all the Wrestlemania stories for the old farts who only want to work for 3 minutes at pay per view rate as Lesnar, Goldberg and Undertaker all miraculously "picked" high numbers right next to each other. I used to hate it when somebody came in and cleared the ring so there were only two people left, but at least that was a bit more realistic.
Of course it's all planned out, but it's not really a match any more just an hour of obvious and disappointing set-pieces.
The pace of the Royal Rumble was too slow, eliminations were stretched out too much. It was so obvious that a Goldberg eliminates Lesnar/Lesnar eliminates Goldberg scenario was going to happen just so that they can set up the rematch at WrestleMania. The confrontations between Braun Strowman & Big Show over recent weeks on Raw made it obvious that Braun Strowman would eliminate the Big Show as well.
Where does all of this leave Chris Jericho? he could have feuded with Kevin Owens for the Universal title at WrestleMania but now it looks like he wont have any plans for that event and is now going to probably lose the U.S title to Sami Zayn.
Matches for Wrestlemania thrown about...
Owens v Jericho
Goldberg v Lesnar for the Universal Title
Big Show v Shaquelle O Neil
Orton v Wyatt for the WWE World Title
Charlotte v Nia Jax v Bayley v Sasha Banks
The Undertaker v Roman Reigns
& AJ Styles v Shane Mchanon
I'd imagine Cena will face Cor bin, Sheamus v Cesaro, Alexa Bliss v Becky v Naomi v Nikki v Natalya v Mickie James in a 6 women elimination match for the title. Ambrose v Miz v Ziggler v Kalisto v Crews v Harper in a ladder match for the IC title.
The Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
Obviously Rollins v Triple H is garunteed. No idea what Strowman & Samoa Joe will do yet.
Elimination Chamber shaping up to be brilliant...
World Title EC match
Tag Team Title Turmoil
Dolph Ziggler v Kalisto & Apollo Crews
Natalya v Nikki Bella
Becky Lynch v Mickie James
Women's championship Alexa Bliss v Naomi
& i think Orton v Harper will happen too.
3 Women's matches?? *.*
Chavo Guerrero has passed away
Edit it's Sr not Eddies nephew Chavo. Still sad anyway. Good memories of them both against Eddie at the Rumble in 2004!
Wow that chamber match was incredible
& I'm digging the thought of Orton V Wyatt for the title too. I think we can add Ambrose v Corbin for the Intercontinental Title potentially!
Ambrose vs Corbin will be an interesting feud!
Not seen any of chamber yet, but I know most the winners. Wasn't expecting Naomi to win tbh. Not sure how I feel about her being champ, but she's a great girl, so I'm pleased for her. Alexa's run was shorter than it deserved to be though. But I can see her winning it back in time for Mania and maybe being thrown into a feud with a returning Tamina! (Who has been cleared to return from injury and is apparently heading to Smackdown as a face!)
The seeds have been planted for the Miz/Maryse vs Cena/Nikki match at Wrestlemania
I'm so happy for Naomi FINALLY winning the Women's title she's been long overdue for a title reign and the fact she will most likely be going in to Wrestlemania in her Hometown as Champion makes it even better ! I'm happy for Bray winning the WWE title as well both wins are so deserved Smackdown really is turning in to the Land of Opportunity .
Vader deleted a tweet yesterday saying he is apparently 'in his last few days'. Obviously because of his heart problems shame it looks like it's clearly going to be sooner than expected!
Sad indeed about Vader on his imminent demise, on top of the news on the passing of both George Steele a couple of days ago at age 79, and Ivan Koloff passing today, 2/18/2017 at age 74 from cancer.
Nicole Bass has also passed away. What a brutal year so far for wrestling-related deaths
Yeah I heard that they made a mistake with pronouncing her as dead however she's still declared "Brain dead" & will be taken off life support soon today supposedly.
Hopefully Vader is the last wrestler related one for a while!
Basically another May Young situation. Wish they'd stop messing around this is critical!
It's sad that almost the only times this thread gets bumped is when wrestlers die. R.I.P to all that have passed away recently!
Vader has.... not died (yet) thankfully.
Onto not so morbid stuff, DDP has been announced for the 2017 HOF. I'm picking Jake to be his inductor possibly!
I feel really bad for her! She waits 8/9 years for her title opportunity, finally gets it and she is injured in the process! I am not the biggest Naomi fan, personally. But as a personality she's stunning and deserves all the best. I was ready to see if she could prove me wrong and make me a solid believer in her and I was excited to see what she could bring to the table as a champion.
Such an emotional speech, especially seeing her exchange words with Bryan. She better be given a proper chance once she's 100%!
EDIT: Also, Maryse attacked Nikki tonight! *.* Setting up that inter gender tag match!!
That ending to Smackdown was excellent. It was obviously coming the Orton turn but in such a dramatic and explosive way like that. Reminds me of the old Orton/Triple H feud for some reason. I was gripped the whole way through. Smackdown really did shit all over Raw in general this week though. The Ambrose/Corbin stuff is great.
That Miz/Cena segment stuff too. Looking forward to Maryse's return guys?
FastLane was one of the worst Pay-Per Views I've ever seen, none of the matches were good and the main event between Kevin Owens & Goldberg was torture to watch. The thought of having Goldberg vs Lesnar for the Universal title as WrestleMania's main event is enough to kill the anticipation of WrestleMania as a whole.
Vince really needs to retire from everything. I bet Reigns going over Strowman was his idea... it had to be.
Hopefully Reigns actually turns heel now if he's going to be wrestling undertaker. I hope it isn't a face v face match. I guess Sasha winning was the only good thing about the ppv imo!
I REALLY want to know how Kevin Owens really feels about how he was booked last night. He's worked his ass off for so long now, and for him to have to drop the title like THAT is such a massive f***ing insult to him. Just smh. Vince really, really needs to take his leave.
Retired wrestler 'Outlaw' Ron Bass passed away back on Tuesday this week due to a ruptured appendix. he was 69.
So we currently have 11 matches for Wrestlemania and potentially a couple more since Ambrose the SD tag titles haven't been announced yet.
A few will get bumped to pre show like one or both the tag matches, cruiserweight title & maybe the Smackdown women's match (this really shouldn't keep happening as I'd prefer the Bayley one was on pre show instead)
There's a lot of dislike for the AJ/Shane match and although I agree Aj probably should be given a much bigger match as a main event headliner or something... I honestly think him and Shane will have a fantastic match.
John Cena to induct Kurt into the HOF!
I guess it's fitting really since he's the only guy on the roster that seems the person to induct him especially when Kurt was his first opponent...
Not necessarily a wrestler as such but gotta feel for JR losing his wife, Jan after a accident where she wasn't wearing a helmet such a extremely sad way to pass
So Neville v Aries is the first match bumped to pre show. I'd personally want the Andre battle royal, Smackdown Tag Match & maybe Ambrose v Corbin to be there or just have 3!
They really shouldn't keep pushing the Smackdown women's match to pre show on every major ppv, I get sick of the Raw one always being the priority one
Ugh. The SD womens match has been bumped to pre-show? I was looking forward to that more than the RAW one! Ffs.
Also not happy about Neville vs. Aries moving either. Andre battle royale should certainly be there though! Gahhh! I guess it was inevitable though, right?
The Smackdown Women's match isn't officially on the pre show I just have a feeling they will put it there although it might not be moved if they are planning on adding surprise one off appearances to the match tbh I don't think either will particularly be moved but I wouldn't complain if the fatal four way gets bumped as I honestly don't have much excitement about it, besides they already have Bayley walking in as champ. I presumed she was going to Win it at the event a few months ago.
If I was in charge I'd definitely put the Battle Royal, Smackdown Tag titles match (presumably being added on tonight's show) & the raw women's match and if need be a 4th bump then the Raw tag titles!
I can see WrestleMania going overtime like it did last year, there's 13 matches on the card at the moment which is one more than last year and more matches could be added on tonight's episode of Smackdown. I think the main show will be about 5 hours long.
I did mention on Facebook but may say here too....
Aries v Neville
Andre the Giant Battle Royal
Smackdown Women's Title Match
ALL ON PRE SHOW, don't care for the battle royal as such but the other two definitely needed to be on the main show should have swapped them with the Smackdown Tag titles match (if there even is one) & Ambrose v Corbin (even though I'm interested in this match too)
The Smackdown Women get royally f***ed over for some reason when they are easily superior to the Raw division (Sasha aside)
My WrestleMania match predictions:
Match 1: Braun Strowman
Match 2: Austin Aries
Match 3: Bray Wyatt
Match 4: Brock Lesnar
Match 5: Roman Reigns
Match 6: Seth Rollins
Match 7: AJ Styles
Match 8: Nia Jax
Match 9: Kevin Owens
Match 10: John Cena & Nikki Bella
Match 11: Baron Corbin
Match 12: Enzo & Cass
Match 13: Alexa Bliss
Who I WANT is in BOLD. Who I THINK will be normal and if it's both, I shall use Blue.
Match 1: Braun Strowman
Match 2: Neville
Match 3: Randy Orton / Bray Wyatt
Match 4: Goldberg / Brock Lesnar
Match 5: Taker
Match 6: Seth Rollins
Match 7: AJ Styles
Match 8: Sasha Banks
Match 9: Kevin Owens
Match 10: The Miz & Maryse
Match 11: Baron Corbin
Match 12: Gallows & Anderson / Enzo & Cass
Match 13: Alexa Bliss (But it could just as easily be a returning Tamina...)
Apparently Vince now wants Taker/Reigns to main event Mania over Berg/Lesnar. What a day to send the fans home happy - having Reigns go over
YASSS! I wanted them two to close the show. Especially over Berg/Lesnar. Am I REALLY the only one not wanting that match to happen?!
10 year wrasslin' fan here (hard to believe a decade ago we had Donald Trump playing a role in one of the big matches lmaoo) with some thoughts about WM33 (teh ultimate thrill ride!!!!) cos why not
Goldberg v Lesnar - guessing I'm the only one liking what they've done with Goldberg so far lol, most interesting feud Brock's been involved in for some time. Lesnar presumably wins the belt here which is cool, probably not in 'squash' fashion but I can't see the match going that long either
Reigns v Taker - the build and story behind this has been piss weak match won't be bad at least, and the reaction to Reigns' likely win will be glorious (and he definitely should if this is Taker's swansong match)
Wyatt v Orton - Bray getting a world title is nice and all but isn't it a bit too late? They should've done this like three years ago when his character was red hot. My head tells me Orton wins this
AJ v Shane - this match should deliver if they go all out with it, AJ will probably kill it as he does and Shane will probably kill himself as he does
Jericho v Owens - Owens' world title run was pretty laughable but I loved all the corny shit Jericho came up with, the stupid idiots and lists and whatnot Story for this has been built up nicely, should be a good match~
Rollins v HHH - feud went kinda cold with Trips' absence but they've pulled it back well enough since, hopefully Rollins starts to really prosper as a babyface from here
Cena/Nikki v Miz/Maryse - very small Mania match for Cena entertaining feud though, as would be expected
Raw Women's match - hard to get invested in this when the two main angles (Bayley's big title win and Charlotte's ppv streak) already ended before Mania just odd, guessing Bayley wins followed by a much-needed Sasha heel turn
Smackdown Women's match - complete hodgepodge with no story why not build a proper feud or something? Best outcome would be a Carmella win so we can get more James Ellsworth on our screens
Raw Tag Title match - ladder match to open the show? guess I'm down with that, would be nice if Enzo and Cass got the titles
Ambrose v Corbin - sure
Neville v Aries - eh
Andre the Giant match - is what it is I suppose. Either Strowman or Sami wins in the end, hopefully Strowman
Hoping it'll be a pretty good show, a number of these matches really could've used a better/longer build
Have to say that stage set looks AMAZING though, holy shit
Well, so much for Big Cass and Enzo winning the Raw tag titles....the returning Hardy Boyz won those....
THAT HARDYS RETURN <3 yesss
Rollins/HHH was great, easy match of the night for me so far! (edit: okay the goldberg/lesnar match would be up there too actually *.*)
WrestleMania was disappointing for me as it was way too long and it just felt like an extended episode of Raw/Smackdown with no great matches. The Hardy Boyz returning was the stand out moment and parts of AJ Styles vs Shane McMahon was good as well but everything else just felt poor in my opinion. The Cena & Nikki vs Miz & Maryse match was particularly bad although John Cena proposing to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring after the match finished was really nice to see.
I can't see Brock Lesnar holding the Universal Title for long and I expect him to lose it to Roman Reigns at Payback or the next Raw Pay-Per-View after that. Bray Wyatt should have retained the WWE Championship as well instead of Randy Orton winning it again after previously winning it loads of times.
Apparently The Undertaker has announced his retirement during WrestleMania.
Hardyz return and pop was incredible.
I was disappointed with almost every match, mainly the Orton & Wyatt match which was far to slow and nowhere near as good as what I anticipated. The smackdown woman championship felt far to rush and I wishe it was a traditional fatal four way with Becky, Mickie, Natalya and Alexa Bliss.
The thing what annoyed me most was Cena / Nikki v Miz and Maryse, the crowd loved Miz and Maryse and the way they buried Maryse pissed me off more than anything, she's a good in ring wrestler and she jobbed so hard!
I actually found it quite enjoyable overall, the only result I would have preferred was Bray retaining but I suppose that wasn't going to happen I do like Orton though and I applaud the join them/screw em angle.
In fact whoever has been writing smackdown's story lines... Please do so with raw too. Would be great thanks!
The Smackdown women's match was rushed as well, some good spots despite everything but would have loved it to have gone a bit more smoothly throughout.
The kick off match between Aries & Neville was sensational, really gutting it was bumped to that spot now as it looked fabulous from the pub I was watching from for the first hour or so.
Poor Ambrose too, his match with Corbin was decent as well. Just can't believe Taker has retired, we knew it was coming someday but it still feels surreal.
Superstar shakeup sounds interesting, hopefully not too many leave Smackdown as it has been the far superior show since the split. Aj going to raw is a definite though.
Oh gosh forgot about the HARDY'S, YES YES YES YES YES Best thing about the event. So happy they are back *.*
HOLY f***ING YES.
YES! YES! YES! YES!!!!!!
FUUUUCKKK!!!!!!!!
THE GREATEST MANIA MOMENT IN A LONG TIME FOR ME! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO, SO HAPPY!
I shall write a review some point in the next couple of days, I wanna catch up with RAW & SD too (I know what happens on those though for the most part, so I know the debuts and things!) those ones are always my favourite shows of the year! I've seen the first 2 hours or so of RAW, just gonna catch up with the rest!
ALL CAUGHT UP!
Pre-Show:
It was alright. A bit long winded and the matches all seemed to be in the last hour or so of the show anyway? Surely they should've had Match 1, build up, match 2, build up, match 3, build up before the main show?
The Neville and Aries match I found a bit under whelming, however, I find Aries a bit hard to take to. I mean he's talented, but I feel he works better fighting people who are bigger than him. I think he needs out of the Cruiserweight division tbh. Really peeved that f***ing MOJO RAWLEY f***ING WON. Way to bury the Andre The Giant Battle Royale 3 years after it started... Should've had Sami or Braun win, imo! Set them up for a great push, like what happened with Corbin last year. Ambrose vs. Corbin was a slight disappointment for me, too! Could've been much better than what it was and I am 100% certain that Corbin would've won had it not been moved to the pre-show. Thankfully their match on Smackdown following WM, was superior and was more like what I was expecting.

Wrestlemania:
THE STAGING IS PHENOMENAL. SO, SO, SO BEAUTIFUL! That runway though! *_* Tinashe was so nervous singing the national anthem though! Bless her.
AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon:
- A very solid opening match and a good match to keep the crowd invested and intrigued. However, it was FAR from either participants best ever matches.
Chris Jericho (ch) vs. Kevin Owens:
- A very good match and I think that was partly down to the story and the emotion of this rivalry! They work very well together and Owens winning was a nice way to help get him over even more.
Bayley (ch) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte vs. Nia Jaxx:
- The biggest disappointment of the night and it's only because it was booked incredibly stupidly and WRONG! It also seemed really short for the caliber of match it should've been! The only positive I have is that Nia look a billion dollars. She's a MONSTER and they got her elimination and her execution overall SPOT ON, imo. Then, soon after, we have Sasha eliminated. In such a shit and quick way... AGAIN. Just like they had her do at Survivor Series. Then after that I lost ALL interest and I don't think I've been so pissed off at a booking before. WTF are they doing with Sasha?!
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (ch) vs. Enzo & Cass vs. Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Hardy Boyz:
- I really want to watch this again because I was just on such a high from seeing the Hardy Boyz returning, that I don't know if I was just saying it, but this was my favourite match of the night. But the ladder matches always nearly are for me, so throw in the Hardyz and well... instant winner haha! Jeff looked so HEALTHY and it was SO good seeing him look that way instead of being high all the time. Really happy they seem to be keeping the whole "broken" thing too as Matt is definitely the most sought after Superstar in the world right now due to that gimmick. I also heard WWE are gonna be helping them in their lawsuit against TNA to keep that gimmick!
John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse:
- WTF at the little to no airtime for Nikki or Maryse... It was decent enough, but I wanted to see more Maryse!
Seth Rollins vs. Triple H (w/ Stephanie):
- Great match, as I expected between these two. Loved the back and forth action and it was great to see Triple H actually lose, although I expected him to, because that means it's one of his "own" going over him! He'll do the reverse to what he does to WCW stars and let every NXT superstar he faces against, go over him (he always gets the big win over WCW stars!) Had just the right amount of spots and thrills, even if Stephanie going through the table ended up being predictable!
Bray Wyatt (ch) vs. Randy Orton:
- Definitely the most uninterested I've been in a "main event" Mania match. Not even Orton kept me hooked. Like, it wasn't terrible or anything, I just wasn't into it. Probs down to Wyatt. I really dislike him. Although, he most DEFINITELY should've won and got the big win over Orton on this one.
Goldberg (ch) vs. Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman):
- A match of two moves. Excellent. (Although it provided me with my favourite match moment of the night, with that spear out of nowhere!)
Alexa Bliss (ch) vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James:
- 5 minutes. 5 minutes is all these women got. f*** THAT SHIT. Not nearly enough time to let all these women show what they're truly capable of at the grandest stage of them all. 2nd most disappointing match of the night for me, but as I mentioned before about her, I'm happy for Naomi, because she seems SO genuine and lovely in reality, but as a performer, she really isn't doing it for me.
The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns:
- I really wanted this match to end about half way through. I was just getting sad at Taker just looking worse and worse with each bump he went to take. I am not MAD at Reigns beating him, but I really wanted Brock to be the ONLY one to have beaten Taker at WM. But that was ruined for me, coz I wanted him to retire with the streak in the first place... Not the worst WM match in Takers career, that goes to the Brock match for me, but definitely down in the bottom 3! Reigns really should've done what HBK did to Flair and actually said/mouthed something like "Thank you" before giving him one final Superman punch or something.
Takers Send Off:
Well, I am incredibly upset that it's come to this, but it was only ever a matter of time, wasn't it? What a legacy though! Definitely one of my all time favourites. Top 5 with Team Xtreme and Jericho for sure. Gonna be so weird knowing he's not going to be around and potentially not be involved in WM at all next year. Do we think he's inducted next year? He deserves to have his own induction.
---
RAW & SD:
So good seeing The Hardyz back and at the top. Something Dudleyz tried to do but failed... BALOR IS BACK! EMMA IS BACK! ANGLE IS RAW GM! Strowman vs. Brock will be really good if booked correctly! Reigns doing what he did at the start of RAW was brilliant. Nia attacking Charlotte was great! Emma looked incredible and will be a top heel very soon, I reckon!
SHINSUKE NAKAMURA!!!! SHINSUKE NAKAMURA!!!! He's on SD! f*** YEAHHH! Although I think this almost, more or less confirms that AJ is getting moved to RAW tonight </3 Dream match right there! Ty Dillinger is something special to. I hope WWE don't drop the ball with him like they did with Breeze or Fandango! Miz and Maryse continue to be highlights too. He really needs another championship run! (And to STAY on SD!)
Ideal Draft Swaps
Raw
Becky Lynch / Mickie James
John Cena
Dolph Ziggler
Dean Ambrose
American Alpha
Smackdown
Sasha Banks / Charlotte
The Club
Ceasaro
Seth Rollins
Rusev / Kevin Owens
I'm thinking:
To RAW:
- AJ Styles
- Alexa Bliss
- American Alpha
- Dolph Ziggler
---
To SD:
- Roman Reigns > Separates him and Brock for a bit, if it's true about the road they're planning... <
- Sasha Banks > I think Sasha will benefit a lot more from being on Smackdown, than Charlotte. <
- Enzo & Cass
- Sami Zayn
They're the ones I think will happen. I can't see Cesaro being moved when him and Sheamus have a title shot against The Hardyz!
Apollo Crews is the first one to move to Raw and he didn't even get announced officially live on the main show
Anyway my predictions
Raw
Aj Styles
Alexa Bliss
Dolph Ziggler
Dean Ambrose
The Ascension
The Miz & Maryse
Kalisto (just for the cruiserweight stuff)
Smackdown
The New Day
Seth Rollins
Charlotte
Big Show
Sami Zayn
Rusev
4 right for Raw with Miz, Maryse, Kalisto & Dean Ambrose!
I think the best trade despite being a big loss to Smackdown is Alexa. Completely showed up Bayley and Sasha in that segment last night *.*
Alexa really controls the crowd perfectly. She does what Charlotte fails to do. She capitalises on the crowds reaction. Charlotte seems to be quite overwhelmed each time.
I am LOVING what they're doing with Nia. In fact, I'd be happy to see her beat Bayley for the championship, have a good run up until Summerslam, where she drops the belt to Asuka!
So sad to hear about Rosey. Only 47 & Michael Cole mentioned Umaga during Jeff Hardys match against Cesaro last night how bizarre. I guess Roman won't be on Raw next week for another week (or he might).
Orton v Jinder for the WWE Title
Eh I guess it's someone new in the title scene...
Not Alexa Bliss actually beating Bayley in Bayley's hometown and beating Charlotte to the race as the first ever woman to hold the RAW and SD Women's Championships *.*
The House Of Horrors match between Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt was weird and quite funny , Payback as a whole was average at best which is what I expected it to be prior to the Pay-Per-View.
Alexa is perhaps the only essential Woman out of both brands right now (ladies wise I mean). So glad they had kept on with pushing her as I'd thought she'd be knocked down with Bayley, Sasha & Nia overshadowing everyone.
From her coronation she did seem to track a mix of Trish & AJ Lee which sets up to be one of the best in recent times at least on the mic although her in ring work has improved a lot too!
Also liking the heel women's faction on Smackdown. I think we can assume Owens v AJ Styles, Zayn v Corbin & Shinsuke v Ziggler will be the other main matches at Backlash. All potentially great matchups!
The ending to the Womens MITB match was absolutely horrendous. None of the women got their "moment". It was such an awful way for Carmella to get the briefcase. Obviously Ellsworth was gonna get involved, but he really shouldve had a less prominent role on grabbing the briefcase. He should've held Becky down or something and let Carmella grab the case for her moment. Literally fuming. (It was a great match too!)
Tamina was the real MVP though! She really deserves a shot ffs!
Lana really impressed me in the woman's match against Naomi!
The way Carmella won was shit let's be honest lmao!
Tamina shone!
HATED the ending but it's done the job it's generated heat for Ellsworth/Carmella.
Lana is I could watch her all day.
Lana reminded me so much of early Trish! Not perfect, but decent enough. She has a lot of charisma, passion and personality which is needed for that type of gimmick! Eva flopped in those 3 departments.
Is Paige set to come back soon and join the raw heels? Seems odd to have 4 faces feuding with 3 heels.
Where is this RAW Womens division heading? LOVED seeing Emma face up against Alexa! Looking forward to seeing more of her in the title picture.
Well this topic died a lot didn't it
How ironic that Jons post about the women's division on Raw heading... nowhere. I love Sasha but it's getting a bit tiring seeing the same few challenging Alexa. Emma needs to shine not be the one tapping out
I was hoping that Braun Strowman would beat Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship but unfortunately it wasn't to be. I think No Mercy was largely a good Pay-Per-View apart from the main event, the tag team match was my favourite.
I heard that the PPV was fantastic, bar the ending. So I'm looking forward to watching it tonight!
It's so blatant that Vince wants Reigns to go over Lesnar at next years WrestleMania How...depressing.
The womens match stole the show for me.
The tag match was next, Cesaro didn't LOSE his teeth... he pushed them up his gums
Everything else was decent too, although the Cruiserweight match was boring af. I'd have preferred Braun to win, but I've resigned myself to the fact we won't have a new champ until Lesnar vs Reigns at WM.
Former manager and on air broadcaster Bobby 'The Brain (or Weasel)' Henan passed away about 10 days ago at age 73. and I think from some sort of cancer, similar to the type that took US movie critic Roger Ebert several years back. R.I.P. Bobby....
Fuming Emma has been released.
Same! Absolutely LIVID.
Summer Rae and Darren Young I'm not bothered about, but Emma is a huge blow! She seemed like she was just on the cusp of becoming a crowd favourite! I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!
Emma must have done something to piss off the guys in charge. It's strange because it was only last Sunday that she wrestled Askua at TLC. I'm not surprised about Darren Young and as for Summer Rae I forgot she was still in WWE.
I originally thought emma asked to be released, it’s so good to see everybody supporting her though!
It’s now apparent that she had made some enemies in the writing department. However, can we take a minute to appreciate Alicia Fox and her captain hat.
YES! I adore Foxxy!!
Tamina looked great in the Survivor Series match last night!
Lets hope her momentum can continue!
Paige making one of the best returns in a while!! (Well Hardyz win for surprise factor but Paige wins for making an impression!!)
I was surprised to see Paige return last night, I wouldn't mind if she won the Raw Women's Championship as Alexa Bliss is getting boring now as champion. I can see Askua winning that title at some point over the upcoming months.
Triple H vs Braun Strowman at Royal Rumble or WrestleMania looks very likely at the moment.
Sasha and Alexa have just made history!
They became the first women to be allowed to wrestle in Abu Dhabi. Ever.
What a landmark! A fantastic milestone!
More history is going to be made at the Royal Rumble. For the first time ever there will be a Women's Royal Rumble match and the winner will get a Women's Championship match at WrestleMania.
I’m getting bored of WWE expecting to be praised for letting women do these things, it should have been happening for a long time by now.
really excited for the women's rumble. that's as long as they don't f*** it up like they did at the 25th wrestlemania by doing it all with fast eliminations etc. the women have come a really long way since then!
I wouldn't be surprised if both bellas appeared as two of the vacant spots and several nxt stars and rounda. hopefully 5/6 are past wwe women.
I reckon the likely returnees are Trish, Ivory, Kelly Kelly, Brie, Nikki & potentially Lita. I say potentially coz I'm not sure where she stands with performing in-ring again. I'd love to see the crowds reaction to a staredown between her and Trish again and then going at it with their fists (like Sami vs Zayn last year) but then Sasha and Bayley enter for a Banks/Bayley vs Lita/Trish staredown!
All too good to be true so this is just me fantasising, but I feel they'd be missed opportunities.
molly is said to possibly be taking part but you can't really tell if it is 100% accurate. Michelle mcool and Beth I wouldn't bet against either or Victoria or Jazz but I doubt it. can't see Kaitlyn returning despite talks that she's back in the ring and obviously Aj won't return as much as I'd like her to.
. we're then left with ufc and nxt women to fill out the remainder.
So it was reported on Saturday that Paige is being forced to retire from professional wrestling following a sting she received from Sasha Banks at a live show. Neither WWE or Paige have commentated on this and I fully expect we will get some sort of announcement on Monday Night Raw if this is true. However, no news seems to be good news right now and WWE posted this on their Instagram before deleting it minutes after
https://twitter.com/bvmbshelled/status/952216063558680576/photo/1
I really, really, really hope this is a work because WWE was pushing her more than any other women on the roster and according to sources she was in the final two in the rumble along with Askua and the plan was for a triple threat at Mania with Paige, Askua and Bliss.
I wonder if that post was removed due to the reports being real? Or maybe they didn't want to have the comments to be all "does this mean she's ok" or whatever. Hmm.. Like you've said and we've spoken about, for now I'm not going to believe anything until Paige and/or WWE have said something. Hopefully tomorrow night, just so we can move on.
But some people are thinking that it's a work and that WWE are playing into it (which could be a very smart idea).
Anybody watching Raw 25 tonight? Stocked up on energy drink so I'm gonna
According to William Hill Shinsuke Nakamura is the 11/10 favourite ahead of Roman Reigns to win the Men's Royal Rumble this Sunday. Ronda Rousey is the 6/5 favourite to win the Women's Royal Rumble match.
I will be surprised if Shinsuke Nakamura wins the Royal Rumble as I can't see it being anyone from Smackdown, I think Roman Reigns winning it is a very strong possibility especially as he just lost the Intercontinental Championship this past week and he would be the most likely opponent for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. My pick to win the Women's Rumble match would be Asuka but I suppose it all depends of whether Ronda Rousey will take part like she's been rumoured to.
Why are Charlotte and Alexa included? :/ (and quite high up considering their status in the company at the moment)
Becky being third fave is surprising too. Hmm..
Asuka clearing house on Raw all but confirmed Rousey's winning
Shinsuke would be an amazing winner but Vince has a boner for Reigns so I expect he'll win. again.
I'm really looking forward to it this year. It's the first year in years that I feel like it's not going to be as straight forward as the obvz faves (Reigns or Shinsuke) winning. But I feel like Shinsuke could use the momentum of a RR win the most. He's barely done much since being called up to the main roster and it'd be better as they can create the AJ/Shinsuke feud off of that without turning either of them heel. Whereas Reigns and Brock is already written for itself more or less.
I was surprised that the Women's Royal Rumble match was the main event, I didn't really enjoy it much and it felt more like a testimonial event with all the past wrestlers taking part. The end was as predictable as it possibly could have been once it was clear that Ronda Rousey wasn't taking part and then as if that wasn't bad enough they just completely swept Asuka's victory under the carpet by randomly bringing Rousey out at the end just so that she could point at the WrestleMania sign.
That was a disappointing end to an average Pay Per View in my opinion. The Men's Royal Rumble was better but not that much better, William Hill were right just like last year and the year before that by making Nakamura the favourite. Roman Reigns will most likely win the Elimination Chamber match instead and face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
I think it’s been the best Royal Rumble in at least 10 years.
The fact they made Asuka's win all about Rousey totally ruined the moment. Ugh.
Apparently Ronda Rousey has signed full time with WWE. I think she will wrestle in only one match which will be at WrestleMania possibly against Stephanie McMahon and then she will leave. I cant imagine her turning up every week to Raw like most of the female wrestlers. She will be like the female Brock Lesnar but with even fewer appearances on Raw.
I was not disappointed with the womens rumble match at all. It exceeded my expectations, probs coz I expected it to be a huge mess!
The only bad things I took away, were...
- When they kept rolling out the ring. They should've just moved to the bottom ropes etc..
- No Lita/Trish showdown
That's literally it tbh. The legends all got great pops! Trish looked incredible. She hasn't lost it one little bit! And seeing Sasha square up to her and Lita... WHAT A MOMENT.
Almas looked fantastic in the mens rumble too! If you didn't watch his match against Johnny Gargano the night before on Takeover, honestly please do. Its incredible!
The standalone matches... left a lot to be desired imo. Not the best, but I didn't think any of them were PPV worthy.
But yeah, my fave rumble matches in a long time.
---
Also, Rey Mysterio looked to be in fantastic shape! He lost a lot of weight and moves a lot smoother and swifter (and I say this as someone who's not really too big on him!)
So, Womens Elimination Chamber match set for a few weeks Wasn't expecting that as soon as this tbh! But yay.
Also, I've been reading and seeing that Asuka vs Banks on RAW last night was incredible! Looking forward to watching it tonight!
The women's elimination chamber match has the potential to be good but only if they make a lot of use of the steel structure surrounding the ring, it would be nice for someone to get smashed through a glass pod as well. It's a shame that blood has been banned in WWE now otherwise that could be a bonus as well in both the women's and the men's chamber matches.
Yeah Asuka vs Sasha Banks was by far the best match on Raw last night, it was a hard hitting match which left both competitors exhausted by the end. There was one moment in particular in the match that looked quite brutal on camera.
So I do think it's looking likely that Paige is going to announce retirement as she's focused more on her clothing brand and she's stopped attending house shows. I can also see Tamina being released very shortly soon too as she's just suffered another injury which will rule her out for up to eight months.
The Smackdown's women division needs a major overhaul, it used to be my favourite but the sole focus seems to be on Riott Squad (who I don't find interesting in the slightest) and Charlotte. I think wherever Charlotte seems to go she brings that division down as everything seems focused on her and she's not interesting being a face in the slightest.
WOW

Lana only 2%
Paige 2% also while Charlotte is 6% wow.
This Alexa Bliss slayage tho, now at 26%.
Edit: Paige is now up to 4% *.*
I would be interested to know who the 1% that voted for Ruby Riott are
surprised Lana Paige Carmella even Liv Morgan are under 5% tbh. they've all oozed a lot of excitement from male fans on other forums/YouTube
I'm sure Mickie would had more 8-12 years back too.
Charlotte higher than a lot of these tho *.
Don't think Sasha vs. Bayley will happen, but I think they'll be the last 2 in the Battle Royal and go for maybe 10 minutes just the two of them. Then they can feud after Mania.
Mysterio is injured and I dunno if they’d put him on WrestleMania given he’s presumably doing the high profile NJPW San Francisco show.
WWE have confirmed that WrestleMania 34 will be a seven hour long show.
Last year's WrestleMania was around that length of time as well I think. It will finish around 5 AM UK time.
So it'll start at 10pm here in UK? I might watch until about 1 or 2, then leave the rest for when I finish work Monday!
I assume there will be no pre-show and the entire card is the official card for WM?
The main show normally starts at midnight UK time so I guess the pre show will start at 10 PM. I don't think I'll watch the pre show but I'll at least catch some of the main show.
there will most likely be 3 matches on the pre show again this year. I think both battle royals and the cruiserweight match will the ones not making the main show. I really believe The Usos would be in danger had they not kept referring to the fact that they had been 'sidelined' year after year and after the year they've had, it would be a huge slap in the face if they are still somehow bumped to pre show.
my predictions for all the matches...
Mustafa Ali but I have no definite idea either of them could win this!
Johnny Gargano - Andre Royal
Becky Lynch - Women's Battle Royal
Miz (don't mind any of them winning tho)
Nia (I obviously prefer Alexa tho)
Bludgeon Brothers
Randy Orton (literally any of them could win)
Ronda and Kurt
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens
The Bar
Asuka
Nakamura
Reigns
(Undertaker)
My predictions:
Cedric Alexander
Johnny Gargano - Andre Royal
Becky Lynch - Women's Battle Royal (She deserves a moment - but I feel like a heel turn is heading her way, so a loss could lead to something)
Bálor
Alexa (could just as easily be Nia though - probs hardest match to call imo)
Bludgeon Brothers
Rusev (bit of a surprise, but I'm sure his merch sales will play a hand in him being champ)
Ronda and Kurt
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens (w/ D Bry heel turn)
Strauman (& Elias)
Asuka
Nakamura
Reigns
Cena
My WrestleMania 34 predictions:
Andre The Giant Battle Royal: Matt Hardy
Women's Battle Royal: Bayley
Crusierweight Championship: Cedric Alexander
Universal Championship match: Roman Reigns
WWE Championship match: AJ Styles
Intercontinental Championship: Finn Balor
United States Championship: Rusev
Raw Women's Championship: Nia Jax
Smackdown Women's Championship: Asuka
Raw Tag Team Championship: Braun Strowman and whoever his partner will be
Smackdown Tag Team Championship: Bludgeon Brothers
Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey (Rousey will pin or submit Stephanie to get the win)
Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon
John Cena (Assuming the Cena vs Taker match actually happens)
there's a slight possibility that Ember might debut tonight or tomorrow after her title loss which was a great match btw!
Not a lot i'm really interested in with this Mania card. will be nice to see Bryan back in the ring, and the Ronda match will probably be a cool kinda spectacle moment
hoping to see Roman Reigns win in the most superman troll-like fashion possible *.*
Been a great PPV so far. Fantastic matches.
Asuka losing her streak at WM though I think this more or less guarantees Carmella is gonna have a successful cash in soon.
Not here for yet another Mahal title reign though! 😩
The Rousey match was incredible. So, SO good!
I am split on WM... The first half was literally one of the best PPV's I'd seen in a long time. Rousey/Angle vs Steph/Trips was outstanding. It made so much sense for her first match to be against Steph, coz imo, Steph and Trips have the strongest in-ring psychology imo.
Then after that it seemed to be a bit... "oh. Ok then"... and the main event.. wtf was THAT?!?
Peaked 3 hours too early imo. But no proper squashes (well one was an extended squash match) which I loved. But AJ vs Shinsuke under delivered for me. It didn't go anywhere? The problem with 2 faces battling each other imo. But after the ending, I'm assuming they're gonna be in a programme for a little longer.
Conflicted as to what to rate/think of it overall. I feel like the first half was definitely a 9/10 out of 10 for me, but then the 2nd half, although not hating or disliking it, it was very average and more like a 5 out of 10. So I guess a 7 out of 10 overall? Poor for what is their biggest event, but then again it's been a while since Mania was the best PPV...
I shall give a detailed match by match review later, maybe!
rankings for the night.
Andre Memorial Battle Royal 8/10 - This was perhaps the best of all the battle royals at wm I think helped by the Hardy win/Wyatt alliance.
Cruiserweight Title 10/10 - one of the most energetic matches (obviously) so many flawless move spots.
Women's Battle Royal - 6/10
Intercontinental Title - 8.5/10
Charlotte v Asuka - 9/10 - only downer Was Asuka losing her streak which was a shame, she doesn't necessarily need it to be champ tho.
US Title 6.0/10 - could have been better and I didn't like that it was
Rusev who's the most over atm that got pinned by jinder. lmao at them still pushing him super hard :')
Kurt and Ronda V Triple H & Stephanie 10/10 - really entertaining match, all brought it to this match, steph mainly for ring psychology.
Smackdown tag titles 5/10 - I liked the Bludgeon Brother being dominant but I was disappointed that the other teams get more of an chance to do some amazing stuff. plus it was very short too.
Cena v Taker 3/10 - I did enjoy Taker squashing Cena to some extent but I'd like to see a much lengthier match.
Shane and Daniel V Kami - 6/10 I think the fact that Shane wasn't a 100% took away from the match. Daniel Sami and Kevin all carried the match to a Decent outcome.
Alexa v Nia - 5.5/10 - Glad they got 10 minutes and alexa got some offence in but I think Because I knew Nia would win kinda knocks it down. I'm happy for her finally winning the title but I think this was a good but kinda mistake match and it was pretty obvious Nia was going to be super dominant.
Styles v Nakamura - 6/10 - For some reason I wasn't that impressed with this, it could have been way better. it wasn't like average or massively underwhelming because they both delivered some key moves moments etc but I just feel compared to the hype for it being a wrestlemania dream classic, it felt like it could have been even better for me to raise its rankage Nakamura turning heel was fantastic and made for a genuine shock moment!
Bar v Strowman and Nicholas - 1/10 - OK the kid thing might have been a sweet gesture but I wasn't ever invested in this match. Slightly disappointed Samoa Joe didn't be his tag partner tbh but I doubt the match would have been any better because they are all powerhouses and those are like the Khali v Kane type monster bouts that are just dull.
Finally Reigns V Lesnar 0/10 - Lmao, what the hell was this. Im beyond tired of the Lesnar domination and Reigns coming back with his very limited moveset and 2 signature moves. I guess Lesnar winning was a surprise but it wasn't a good enough reason to stop this match from being same old and boring.
Raw better deliver too!
I thought that the Ronda Rousey match was easily the best match of WrestleMania and it's one that I could watch over and over again, I've already watched it twice so far! It was pantomime wrestling at it's best and it brought back memories of the heel Triple H and Stephanie McMahon that i disliked (in a good wrestling way) growing up when the company was known as WWF. Ronda did really well considering it was her first wrestling match and she showed how strong she is by lifting Triple H onto her shoulders at one point in the match.
The rest of the event was largely average in my opinion. The Intercontinental Championship match was decent and so was the Smackdown Women's Championship match but i was really surprised that Asuka lost and it means that building up her undefeated streak for all these months was just for nothing.
The Undertaker vs John Cena match was a load of shite and i personally think that Taker needs to just retire now for good as each time he comes back to wrestle it just gets worse and worse. As for the main event the crowd reaction during the match said it all.
http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/lesnar-vince-mcmahon-altercation/#.Wsu29n8h3IW
Oh dear! Vince and Brock got into an altercation after WM last night. I'm assuming it's down to Brock opening Reigns up. Vinny Mc has some serious balls getting into it with Brock f'n Lesnar!
f*** Asuka losing. Seriously. They've left some money off the table because an undefeated Asuka vs. an undefeated Rousey at next years WM could have been absolutely huge
On the topic of Rousey, how bloody good did she look last night? The whole match was an absolute riot from start to finish and the very clear highlight.
Think we can agree Nicholas was the star of this wrestlemania weekend *.*
shame on them for that main event, setting it up perfectly for a glorious troll victory for Reigns....then he lost cowards!
Ronda did great in her debut though, best match on the show easily!
I think this is the first time that I've actually been devastated about a superstar retiring, it makes it worse that she just returned from injury (probably a bit too early) and she's no longer able to do something that she loves, it's such a great shame as you can tell WWE had massive plans for her and I'm guessing she would have been raw women's champion by now.
I'm surprised that Absolution have split, I actually expected her to remain around WWE for much longer and possibly be a commentator etc / Smackdown general manager but her speech and the reaction of superstars seems to indicate that her run with WWE is over, she's been removed from the active roster to the alumini section but it's nice to see her go full circle and I'm guessing it made sense for her to retire at the stadium she debuted! She also managed to get an extra couple of months in WWE with managing absolution but yeah..... we all knew she was retired but still doesn't make it anymore sad.
She's so over with the fans despite being a heel
that was short lived (her appearance on TV) as she's now GM of SmackDown.
Shakeup coming next week, hopefully Balor, Becky, Sasha and perhaps Jeff get moved!
John Cena and Nikki Bella split up 3 weeks before they were going to get married. oooops that Wrestlemania moment will be a now meaningless moment.
I'm really surprised by that, it's gonna be very awkward now for the two of them and even more awkward for the Total Bellas/ Total Divas programme.
I'm expecting Rusev, Becky Lynch and Baron Corbin to move to Raw in the shake up. Finn Balor, Elias and/or Braun Strowman could potentially move to Smackdown. I think Braun Strowman has done all that he can on Raw now so he may as well move shows, especially as the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar barely defends his title or shows up on Raw.
They're currently filming Total Divas so will no doubt have caught all this on camera!
I'm guessing it's due to children.
OH, Rumour has it Someone cheated....

Hardship, loss, and humility are extremely difficult waters to navigate, but perseverance thru them builds a strength to withstand anything life throws your way.
WWE Hall-of-Famer Bruno Sammartino has passed at age 82....
Greatest Royal rumble on Friday for 6 hours I hope there's some sort of prize for the winner of that match and better surprises!
Good to see that in tonight's RAW that it will be dedicated to the late, great Bruno Sammartino.
Noticed that this Royal Rumble event is on Sky Sports Box Office, wow wonder how many people will be paying for it, surely not too many you would have thought, especially with it starting at five, and not finishing until tenish.
That botch by Titus on his way to the ring
Jinder bumping for no reason at all
Maybe it was the heat getting to everybody?
Titus falling over on his way to the ring was hilarious , the rumble match as a whole was quite fun I thought but that was mainly for the botches that happened. Disappointed that Brock Lesnar retained the Universal Championship as it will mean that we wont get to see that belt get defended regularly still.
Met Lita on her UK meet and greet your on Saturday. Got to have some pics and ask her a question in the q&a. I asked if she could go back and have a rematch from anyone in the attitude era who and what stipulation would it be. I did also add she can’t choose gravy bowl as an option. She interested said Chyna, she claimed the storyline with her and Chyna was meant to go on for over 3 months so they could have different match types together. Makes you wonder if Chyna hadn’t have gone would Trish have ever been given the chance to rise up later that year.
^^ that's awesome. how lucky for two of you to have met her now. So jealous x
Also really not dealing with Rusev and English potentially splitting up right now. they are mega over
Backlash was one of the worst PPV's I've ever seen, far too many rest holds in majority of the matches and Roman Reigns pointlessly winning the main event match against Samoa Joe. The Seth Rollins Vs Miz match was the only standout match in my opinion.
I kinda agree with the rest holds stuff, but I don't agree that it was an awful PPV...
I thought it was one of the most "fun" PPVs in a while. Rollins vs Miz was outstanding. I enjoyed Nia vs Alexa (surprised at how good Alexa looked against Nia compared to WM) and I thought AJ vs Shinsuke was their best match yet (despite that ridiculous ending - since when did NO DQ's result in a countout of any sort?!?!?!)
---
Also, Alexa seems to have injured a shoulder! Obviously we have people saying "it's a work" etc.. but this will be like the 4th time Nia's injured someone, so eek at that, even worse if it's true and she's legit injured a Vince fave!
However, I think it's pretty convenient timing. I don't think I'll believe it until we see medical photos etc.. I can see it being a work coz it keeps her out of the title spotlight, without completely taking her out of it (if that makes sense) and she'll be back in time for MITB or something (where she won't do any big bumps herself ) and probs win (although I'd prefer her to win the rumble over MITB).
But yeah. Hopefully it is a work and she's not legitimately injured!
So, SO happy Carmella beat Charlotte
echo the rollins v miz match. that was the definition of incredible! apparently they had different producers assigned for the matches including the likes of Noble, Dean Malenko, D Von, Tyson Kidd and Michael Hayes. Hayes was in charge of the Roman match which did bore me somewhat and Kidd was in charge of Rollins/Miz (*.*) shows that Tyson needs to be in charge a lot more of matches as he was behind that epic match!
I actually didn't think much of the Nia/Alexa match) unpopular opinion) Alexa had some great offence especially the ring step stuff but it just seemed like a mismatch and didn't flow smoothly for me...
Carmella needs to stop SCREEEAAAMING in her matches, it's really off-putting otherwise I'm also glad she beat Charlotte. Can she please go down the line now plssss.
Shinsuke/AJ & Orton v Jeff weren't too bad either although a little slow for the latter and the tag match was entertaining but is getting a bit repetitive now.
I think Backlash gets 6.0 for me so not really bad or anything just a little above average but nothing special except for the IC Match of course!
looks like Reigns will be facing Mahal now. what a exciting match that'll be.... :/
rooting for any of the guys who qualified for MITB. I reckon they'll give Miz the win tho as they'll want to build up him v Bryan and maybe add the title Into the feud which wouldn't be a bad thing as I'm certainly more invested in Miz as I wasn't at all back in 2011. then again Balor needs some momentum as does Rusev and then Strowman should be champ already and I don't see why he's in a match of this caliber personally.
--
side note Mandy getting a Goldust esque entrance all you need is to permanently keep her attire to Gold :')
#STOPBURYINGBECKYASWELLWWE!
WWE MITB card looking like a strong card. Do think someone will cost Ronda the women's title as it feels a bit sudden to have her first singles match be a potential title win when she's only wrestled one match on TV so far...
If someone costs Ronda Rousey the title then it will most likely be Natalya which would start a feud between those two.
Which would be a solid feud for Ronda as Natayla is just the woman to help someone improve more and put on a great match up with.
The women's MITB actually looks super good this year and I'd be saying that even if I wasn't a male lol. All of them should muster up an excellent match if pulled off nicely. Embers finisher is going to be soo cool from the ladder if she has the spot planned.
Aside from that... Elias v Seth and AJ V Nakamura look like the other potential matches of the night.
I can forsee a Heel turn for Bobby Roode either at the event or after as it's blatantly obvious the turn is coming based off recent weeks!
final predictions for tonight..
Smackdown tag title match : Bludgeon Brothers
Daniel Bryan V Big Cass : I'm tempted to say Bryan again but I can see Cass cheating somehow to win. its a bit pointless to build someone up as a big heel force just to totally Bury them but then this is WWE and whilst Cass has improved a tiny bit, I wouldn't care tbh.
Lashley v Zayn : Bobby
IC Title : Hmm hard one but Im going for a retain from Rollins. I do predict Elias will win the title somewhen this year tho.
Smackdown Women's title : usually I'd have gone for Asuka but I have a feeling they want Carmella to remain champ a bit longer and the reports Of James Ellsworth could easily lead to a retain. carmella
Reigns v Mahal : Reigns
Ronda v Nia : Nia with a heel turn from Natayla.
AJ v Shinsuke : Shinsuke Nakamura (surely since its probably his last one on one title shot with Styles)
Women's MITB : The three women I predict to win are : Natayla, Ember or Alexa.
Mens MITB : Miz
Big Cass has been released by WWE. It was only 2 days ago that he wrestled Daniel Bryan at Money In The Bank and lost to him again. Both Enzo Amore and Big Cass are away from WWE now!
This has been rumoured for a couple of months, but it's just been made OFFICIAL now...
The first ever ALL WOMEN PPV - "Evolution" - is happening on October 28th!
I believe this is to make up for the fact that the women were left off of the Greatest Royal Rumble roster. I'm so, SO excited.
Grandmaster Sexay has passed away aged 46
Really saddened by this </3
Nikolai Volkoff has passed away, he teamed up with the Iron Sheik and was part of a tag team called the Bolsheviks. This was back in the 1980s when I watched what was then the WWF.
R.I.P. Nikolai.
Brickhouse Brown as well passed away aged 57.
A tragic day yesterday for WWE.
R.I.P to those 3 wrestlers. I remember Grandmaster Sexay from watching WWE as a child and he provided a lot of memorable moments as part of Too Cool. It's very sad that he chose to hang himself.
Grandmaster Sexay, aka Brian Christopher, the son of Jerry 'The King' Lawler....sad news indedd on the passing of these 3 guys...
WWE have announced Renee Young will become the first woman to commentate on an entire episode of Monday Night Raw.
and now Jim Neidhart is also gone. what an especially grim year for wrestling...
OMFG Yasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss HE'S BACK
(I hope Jon isn't reading this before he watches it tho as I know he doesn't want spoilers)
NXT Takeover 4 was brilliant last night! I think NXT is the best thing WWE has to offer at the moment and the Takeover shows are the best shows of the year. I don't think Summerslam will be anywhere near as good but it will be interesting to see what happens with the Universal Championship match, I have a feeling that Brock will retain the title but I hope I'm wrong.
Sky to keep hold of WWE UK TV rights?
WWE star Roman Reigns is giving up his Universal Championship title because he has leukaemia.
I couldn't believe it when I found out about Roman Reigns having leukaemia. And what was even more surprising was the fact that it's not the only time that he's had it as well! You would never have guessed looking at him and watching him in the ring over the past few years. It's very sad and I hope he makes the speediest of recoveries, it will be amazing if he returns back to wrestling in the future.
He's gonna get a HUUUUGE pop when he returns.
Such sad news. Wish him all the best!
The bloody Undertaker is coming to the UK!!!!
Will obviously try and get tickets but I bet they sell out quickly
What is that? Is that a talking event or is it like an actual wrestling event?
Anyone going to be watching WWE Evolution on Sunday?
Yeah I'll watch some of it. I'm only really interested in the Becky Vs Charlotte match & the NXT women's title match. The rest of the show I could take or leave to be honest.
Oh I might go to that Taker event.
Evolution could have been something so special, yet it’s an absolute f***ing mess
So far Evolution has been impressive imo, loved seeing Ivory get a couple of moments.
My favourite PPV of the year.
It made me EVEN PROUDER knowing they performed incredibly with such an underwhelming card.
Amazing.
Kurt Angle a goner in WWE then?
I'm sure Kurt Angle will come back somehow.
It's such a shame that Becky Lynch wont be able to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series this Sunday, Becky is easily the most interesting wrestler on the main roster at the moment and the match against Rousey would have been the best of the PPV. Charlotte vs Ronda should be decent though but it wont be as good as what we could have got if it wasn't for Nia Jax injuring Becky.
Big weekend of WWE coming up with NXT Takeover: War Games taking place on Saturday night! I think this could be the best WWE show of 2018 and I'm looking forward so much to seeing the war games match involving the Undisputed Era.
Anyone looking forward to the Universal Championship match tonight?
Looking at Wikipedia we have these events down for this year:

March 10 Fastlane Quicken Loans Arena (Cleveland, OH)
April 5 NXT TakeOver: New York Barclays Center (Brooklyn, NY)

November 24 Survivor Series Allstate Arena (Rosemont, IL)
Mean Gene legendary announcer!
Royal Rumble is my favourite ppv so looking forward to it as always.
R.I.P Gene Oakland. He was before my time but I know that he was a legendary announcer and interviewer in WWE and he will surely be missed.
He was a super interviewer and announcer. I remember the Survivor Series 1990, that dancing...
R.I.P. Mean Gene.
As of right now the odds to win the women's rumble is topped off by Charlotte and Becky. I really can't see anyone else winning this match really. Have a gut feeling Charlotte will win moreso than Becky and it wouldn't surprise me if she entered at 3 and repeated what her dad did exactly. Becky doesn't necessarily need to win but of course she'd be my choice with Ember next. Ember deserves a big push this year. She's been called up to the roster having been Nxt women's champ to doing practically nothing with her
As for the men's match I'd love Drew to win as he's so much better than he was in the past and I liked the "Chosen One" times too.
Itll be Rollins though who I don't have anything against winning either and he's had one hell of a 2018!
I also think Miz and Shane are going to be tag champs as well.. This is WWE after all who put Braun with a 10 year old and won the titles (from the Bar at that) lol
Women Royal Rumble reveal starts at 5pm today, don’t get why they are doing this, ruins it a bit.
I would be very surprised if anyone other than Charlotte or Becky Lynch wins the Women's Royal Rumble. I think Drew McIntyre will either be the person with most eliminations or the person who lasts longest in the Men's Royal Rumble. Seth Rollins is the favourite purely because Brock Lesnar is the Universal Champion, I think Drew would have won it if Roman Reigns didn't relinquish the title.
It should be a very good weekend of WWE wrestling next week with NXT TakeOver: Phoenix taking place the night before the rumble!
These Rey Mysterio/Andrade matches are bloody brilliant. Why hasn't Rey been performing to this level in so long.. Since like 2004 Andrade is definitely bringing the quickness in Rey back and he himself is very impressive too. I wouldn't rule Andrade out doing very well in the rumble again like the last year. He's 3rd behind Drew and Seth to win as well. Not that he will ofc.
Drew hopefully will be close to the record of eliminations. I dunno if he'll break it but they've built him up as a machine this year that I'd be surprised if his elimination count is very low.
My Royal Rumble predictions:
Rusev beats Shinsuke Nakamura
The Miz & Shane McMahon beat The Bar
Ronda Rousey beats Sasha Banks
Asuka beats Becky Lynch
Daniel Bryan beats AJ Styles
Buddy Murphy retains the Cruiserweight Championship
Brock Lesnar beats Finn Balor
Becky Lynch wins the Women's Royal Rumble
Seth Rollins wins the Men's Royal Rumble
After the past week I'd say they should turn Ronda heel, there's no way they are going to cheer her against the uber popular Becky so it's only logical.. Although it does appear that WWE are still going to add Charlotte what I don't understand is why they couldn't have Charlotte have her unfinished match with Ronda at Fast Lane and then she loses and builds up a wrestlemania rematch with Asuka instead because Asuka currently has no opponent leading to Wrestlemania (or the next two ppvs for that matter). Ideally Ember would be a good match for Asuka however she's now out of action so they are going to be scrambling for legitimate contenders for the smackdown women's title!
Charlotte v Asuka would be acceptable for mania though as long as Charlotte loses.
That way we can have Ronda v Becky one on one just how we want it!
Undertaker is at Starrcade the same day as AEW 'Double Or Nothing' :eyes:.
I can honestly see AEW doing incredibly well in the ratings against WWE, their owner has more money than McMahon's and I can see a lot of big names joining AEW due to bitterness if I'm being honest. They have some huge names in Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Young Bucks and Kenny Omega (who turned WWE down recently for AEW). I can see Dean Ambrose joining possibly along with CM Punk and a lot of underrated WWE superstars who don't believe they're being pushed to their full potential (Uso's, Revival etc). AEW is also offering big money for superstars apparently (Randy Orton) and it seems like WWE are panicking by offering much larger paychecks which could work against them in the future.
The women's chamber easily the match of the night. Seems Carmella being eliminated first has got something to do with the Corey Graves news tho.
Sonya and Mandy are surely future champions imo!
4 of the best wrestlers on NXT have been called up it seems to the main roster. Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa & Aleister Black all wrestled and won their matches on Raw last night. I don't have a good feeling about them being called up and they were giving very little build before arriving as well. Those 4 are easily the heart and soul of NXT and produce great matches on a regular basis but they could get ruined on the main roster, the crowd didn't seem to care much about them either.
and all 4 of them are in action this week again currently in tag matches against The Bar and Rusev/Nakamura respectively.
Roman returns to Raw tonight and its looking like it should be a good sign at the very least based on his trainers report.
TJP, Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami also released along with Arn Anderson too.
Batista and Reigns both returning. Really happy news for Roman. I guess you could say he really is a superman!
Not much announced for Fastlane but Batista v Triple H is definitely happening at wrestlemania
The hype for this Wrestlemania is absolutely dreadful. I honestly think they need to cut Fastlane because all momentum right now is gone.
Current Wrestlemania Card:
Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar v Seth Rollins (WWE truly need to stop with pushing Lesnar as the World Champ, he's ruining the WWE championship and by him not being around it leaves the WWE incredibly limited and they can't push this match to it's full potential, this match is supposed to be the main event but I'm beyond uninterested in this feud. Seth needs to win but I can see Brock taking the championship to Smackdown Liv
RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: Ronda Rousey © vs. Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch (I'm still interested in this mainly due to the fact that it could main event wrestlemania but I think WWE
NO HOLDS BARRED: Triple H vs. Batista (Should be a fun match but again with Batista very limited on appearances, it makes it less effective)
RETIREMENT MATCH: Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin (Could not care about)
Shane McMahon vs. The Miz (Miz deserves better)
AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton (kinda hyped for this match but feel it could be disappointing)
WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Buddy Murphy © vs. Tony Nese (pre-show)
WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP Samoa Joe © vs. Rey Mysterio (Nope)
Smackdown championship match will probably see Kofi defeating Bryan which will be iconic but I can see his title reign being short. Two title matches and number one contendership for SDL womens championship with sonya v mandy v Carmella v niomi
hype.
like legit biased yes but the buildup for bliss v jax was better than anything this year
Has anyone managed to meet any wrestlers from past and present from WWE at all?
losing patience with wwe.
They don't realise that they can have more than one storyline at a time across each brand, it's starting to annoy me. I wonder if they're quietly changing things (as in new writers and stuff) backstage, hence a huge mess in the storylines?
They clearly want the WWE 4HW to walk out of Mania with the belts and maybe start to plant the seeds for the 4HW v 4HW storyline? Which I wouldn't mind, I just hate the way it was booked. They should've had Asuka v Charlotte 2 at Mania and had just Becky v Ronda in the main event. It was THAT simple lol. Nobody wanted a triple threat with Charlotte in the first place!
Also, I'm not a Kofi fan, but they've handled his story really well! I can see Big E turning on him v soon though.
That segment with the women on RAW was CRAZY so over the top and entertaining at the same time I loved it . Really got me hyped for the triple threat at Wrestlemania which I’m sure will be good . Also despite how it’s been booked in places I definitely think Charlotte was needed in this match despite what others think . It’s the first ever women’s Main Event at Mania and she’s one of the top if not THE top performer in women’s division. She will also bring the high risk spots and exciting moves to the match that neither Becky or Ronda in particular have in there Arsenal .
charlottes' kick to ronda holy hell
WrestleMania 35 is taking place tonight! Anyone going to watch it?
Also Bret Hart got attacked during his Hall Of Fame speech last night, the person who did this got escorted out by various security and wrestlers and even got punched in the face by Dash Wilder from The Revival.
The Hardyz 8 time tag champs!
I think this must confirm The Usos are going to Raw..
Becky also feuding with Charlotte 2.0 😂
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Lacey in action!
Former WWE star Ashley Massaro has died at the age of 39 after being taken to hospital from her home in Long Island.
Apparently the UK TV rights for WWE are moving to BT Sport. Although confirmed yet.
Looks like the WWE is about to have some other competition with All Elite Wrestling, with AEW having apparently signed Chris Jerico, Cody and Dustin Rhodes, Jon Moxley (aka Dean Ambrose), and former announcer Jim Ross.
I don't know if Ambrose will join AEW tbh.
https://wweconcussionlawsuitnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Ashley-Massaro-Affidavit-Clean-11.1.pdf
V DIFFICULT READ.
I remember being so happy when Ashley won the Divas search. Couldn't tell if I was expecting her to actually win but I was hoping in my mind that she'd win because she was my favourite of the lot. She wasn't the best wrestler or anything (clearly not her fault as no opportunity to train as mentioned in that letter) but she seemed to be very vibrant, had a cool look and nice personality.
This is really awful and surreal to hear. I feel for her daughter
Sad news about Ashley Massaro, I don't really have much memories of her in WWE but 39 is way too young for her to go. I hope it wasn't suicide but whatever caused it surely must not have been natural.
About AEW they have their first Pay Per View next Saturday called "Double Or Nothing". It will be interesting to see how that company does and what effect they will have on WWE. WWE's Money In The Bank event is this weekend and I expect Drew McIntyre to win the briefcase.
Predicting Mandy (ideally Ember) and Drew to win MITB.
AEW All Or Nothing is tonight. I'm very interested and excited to see if this delivers from all the hype or not! Tye Dillinger has joined the and still several spots left for the battle Royal. Hope they get some more well known names in.
I can honestly see a couple of big names appearing tonight.
Who knew Cardi B was a WWE fan 😯
Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman made executive directors of Raw and Smackdown. Really wishing for this to help fix the mediocrity thats going on with WWE right now. The wild card rule is rubbish and contradicts the 4 person limit and the pushing of Shane, Lacey and Baron needs to be scaled back a lot too.
Since the shakeup we haven't seen AOP, Buddy Murphy, Sarah Logan, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Cedric Alexander on TV at all (Cedric briefly for 24/7 title stuff) and the likes of Rusev, Ali, Shinsuke, Finn, Randy, Robert Roode, among some more barely have TV time atm either all because of the same faces on both shows :/
Also what's the point of having the likes of Finn and Iconics as champions if they aren't featured or lose 90% of the time? No logic and doesn't help the guys or girls have an sort of legitimate run with the championships...
Pulling for the executive stuff to mend some things but this is WWE in 2019 so might be wishful thinking!
Smackdown is basically a replay of Raw these days which is a shame as Smackdown was the best main roster show a few months ago. The wildcard rule is such a terrible idea and it's weird how The Miz is being booked to look like someone who can't beat Shane McMahon or even get the upper hand on him. NXT is still the best thing about WWE as a whole right now and having Adam Cole as the NXT champion is a recipe for a lot of really good matches and storylines.
AEW's 2nd PPV Fyter Fest is taking place this Saturday, if Double Or Nothing is anything to go by it should be an entertaining event. It will be interesting to see how Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) will be booked in AEW.
WWE is an absolute state right now and it's such a chore to watch it.
Shane Mcmahon being provided with such a gigantic push is weird to watch and I'm beyond frustrated for The Miz, why he's not been made World Champion, I will never know. He's ready but he's just been used to push Shane further and I can't see him being Raw world champion anytime soon.
The sooner the wildcard rule ends the better, Roman Reigns has been on Raw every week which is more than his own show Smackdown.
In terms of the booking of The Icconics, it honestly infuriates me. They've giving up on the tag team championship and the women on the show, we're back to our 3/4 minute matches again. It's so disappointing to watch, I'm sure Heyman will help sort this out though.
Yeh, It's weird that Buddy Murphy, AOP or Liv Morgan, Shinuske aren't showing up on TV but I think that Rusev is over in WWE now.
AEW : Well the Moxley / Janela match was crazy mad and entertaining. Truly hardcore! I guess you could tell from this match that it was the proper hardcore style Jon missed and got limited in WWE!
Also the chair shot to Cody apparently was a gimmicked chair that shouldn't have cut him open like that but damn that sold Shawn Spears as a bad ass heel for me.
The matches with the Young Bucks were entertaining even if I do find them a tad overrated.
WWE : Agreed Lee, that's the big problem, it's just so tedious and boring right now.
No one seems to make anything interesting go on in WWE. They had Miz start off good as a baby face and it was better than his 12-13 run but have butchered it just like everything else right now by booking as a complete and utter loser who can't get one victory over Shane :/
Iconics were supposed to face The Bellas after Wrestlemania hence why they aren't defending much at all since!
I keep rewatching Sasha's return 😭😭😍😍😍😍
My fave RAW moment since she won the womens championship in the falls count anywhere match and possibly since her, Becky & Charlotte debuted.
So HIAC was... interesting
I'm still lowkey LMAO at it. I just couldn't believe they ended up doing what they did! In such an important week for them too. It's the last thing they needed in the week AEW debuted on television
The thing is, the PPV itself was actually solid (with Sasha v Becky being MOTY so far - W O W) it's literally the booking that f***ed everything up. I don't mind that The Fiend wasn't gonna be champ, but I could think of literally every possible way that would have been a bigger and better ending than the ending we got.
It was definitely a stupid ending to the Hell In A Cell match between Seth Rollins & Bray Wyatt. Bray should 100% have won the Universal title after the way his character has been built up over the past few months and how incredibly over he is with the fans. If the goal was not to put the title on Bray then the match shouldn't have been for the Universal title and ending a Hell In A Cell match in a DQ defeats the purpose of the match.
I feel sorry for Kofi Kingston as well losing the WWE title in the way that he did, especially after how strongly he was booked as a champion. I imagine he'll be going straight back to the midcard now. Cain Velasquez Vs Brock Lesnar will probably be a good match given the history between the two of them but it doesn't need to have a belt included in it in my opinion.
At least NXT continues to be a consistently good show with the likes of Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, Undisputed Era and the returning Tommaso Ciampa at the fore front. AEW is looking really good also.
Former unified world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will compete against Braun Strowman at a WWE event in Saudi Arabia on 31 October.
Fury, 31, has appeared twice on WWE in recent weeks and has already started a feud with Strowman.
Speaking at the announcement of their bout, Fury said: "I fear no man. I am going to knock Strowman out."
Strowman, whose real name is Adam Scherr, said: "Tyson heed my warning. In the WWE, we don't wear gloves."
He added: "You are climbing into my world. You are a household name and when these hands put you down for good, the whole world will remember who the monster among men Braun Strowman is."
Fury said he was "honoured" to compete in the WWE and described himself as "a lifelong fan" of the sports entertainment organisation.
John Morrison has signed a multi year contract to return to WWE!!
R.I.P to Rocky Johnson who was the father of The Rock and has died at the age of 75.
Royal Rumble this weekend! I'm so excited.
Want: Sasha
Think: Shayna
Want: The Miz
Think: Roman
Also, WWE have managed to get Channel 5 (!!!) on board and from February 2nd, they will air "highlight shows" that last 1 hour. SD will be shown on Saturdays at 10am & RAW will be shown on the Sunday at the same time. NXT UK will be streamed on the Paramount network on Wednesdays at 12am!
HUGE.
That's massive news!
Royal Rumble match predix with my two options for want to win:
Women's.
Want: Io Shirai (dependant on her injury as she might not even be able to compete) or Sasha
Think: Shayna
Mens
Want: Drew Mcintyre or Kevin Owens
Think: Roman Reigns
Miz or John Morrison would be good winners for wanting to win as well but I think who I think will win for both will happen tbh.
I will be pissed if Charlotte ends up winning over anyone else and you know what, I can lowkey see it happening 😂😩
I can't see past Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns winning the rumble matches either. I think Charlotte Flair will either be the ironwoman or the person with the most eliminations similar to last year or she could do both. Shayna will probably eliminate Charlotte last to win the match. In the men's rumble I think Brock Lesnar will get elminated by Cain Velasquez, Seth Rollins will get eliminated by either Kevin Owens or Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin will get eliminated by Roman Reigns.
It will be interesting to see what stunt Kofi Kingston will do this year, if I remember correctly the one he did last year was to land in a plate of pancakes which was lacklustre by his standards. NXT have their Worlds Collide event tomorrow night as well so it should be a fun weekend of wrestling
I feel like the final 4 will be Sasha v Nia v Shayna v Charlotte, Sasha will enter somewhere at 24-28 and I agree about Charlotte being the Iron woman this year (I didn't even think about most eliminations but yeah, she'll get that again). I think with a number 4 entry though. I think we could actually see Alexa vs Nikki or Kairi to start us off.
The wwe store has added a new Ronda shirt, I now think Ronda will win.
As soon as Charlotte came out that rumble lost momentum lmao. Sasha was replaced last minute due to her not being able to compete. The tag match a couple of weeks ago where Dana landed on her, injured her ribs. They didn't have her wrestle on TV since and was hoping she'd be cleared in time.
I think she was actually gonna win and I am devastated.
Reports are saying that Sasha was supposed to have won.
I've heard multiple reports that Roman Reigns and Shayna Baszler were booked to win the rumble matches but WWE changed their minds late because a lot of bets were being put on Drew McIntyre and Charlotte due to people on the inside at WWE notifying people that they know personally about this.
I'm glad Drew won the rumble and there was some excellent story telling between him and Brock Lesnar during the match which nicely sets up a title match between them at WrestleMania. The first part of the match wasn't good though when Lesnar was eliminating literally everyone including Kofi Kingston, Keith Lee and John Morrison! Morrison's elimination in particular looked very dodgy considering he's just come back to WWE after 8 years away. It was great seeing Edge return as well during the match, I heard rumours that he was possibly going to feature but I didn't fully believe it so it was a good surprise and he still looks as good in the ring as ever.
Charlotte was the last person that I wanted to win the women's rumble so it was disappointing to see her win, Shayna would have been a much better winner than her but I guess Vince loves Charlotte too much to move her away from the main event scene at WrestleMania. I'm not excited to see her and Becky Lynch face each other for the one millionth time either if that's the direction they're going in.
I'm sure Roman Reigns will still face The Fiend at WrestleMania somehow, probably by winning the elimination chamber to become #1 contender. The strap match between The Fiend and Daniel Bryan was enjoyable and it was good to have a match without the red lighting for once.
Gutted plans for Victoria & Lita were apparently cancelled when their titantrons were leaked from an outside source.
Found a lot of the matches outside the rumble a bit mediocre. Bryan v wyatt and Asuka v Becky were decent though.
The women's match started off so well until Charlotte entered practically. I hate how boring and predictable WWE are to keep shoving her down our throats, sure she's talented but it so obvious they just want her to quickly beat her fathers record of title reigns..
Gutted Sasha, Victoria and Lita weren't in it as well as Io Shirai as some of them weren't that exciting and Santina ugh. It was fine with the women's battle Royal at wm 25 but didn't need to come back even in this.
Lesnar dominating the match was silly and boring too.. OK he's entered #1 to show how dominant he is but WHY did he chuck that many out. 5 or 7 would have been fine. Sad the likes of John Morrison who just returned, Kingston, Shinsuke and Cesaro got chucked out quickly. All deserved a bit more time.
Glad who I wanted in Drew won.. So pleased he was booked so well in this and hopefully should become the first British WWE champ!
Edge returning of course was Incred too.
I was so disappointed Charlotte won the Rumble she really didn't need to win at all she's won and has accomplished so much already. I would have rather Shayna won tbh at least it would have made sense and it would have given her momentum going to the Main Roster (I'm hearing rumours she's facing Becky at Wrestlemania). I'm SO GLAD Drew won the Men's Rumble though.
To keep you WWE fans updated:
John Cena is confirmed to be appearing on the Feb 28th Smackdown from Boston.
Huge news has just come in, The British Bulldog is officially entering the 2020 Hall of Fame!
Surprised it took them this long!
Predictions for tonight.
Winners... Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles, Andrade, Street Profits, Shayna and Miz and John Morrison!
Wrestlemania 36 has been moved from Tampa bay to the performance centre due to Coronavirus. Vince couldn't just rearrange it for later in the year. It's going to be the first Wrestlemania without fans in history!
Yeh but we don’t know how long it’s going to take
I love that they're providing some sort of entertainment for the fans. They could have just scrapped it altogether, but they want a form of escapism for people to forget the real world for a while and just entertain us.
That said..
Becky vs Shayna is gonna be so awful. Lmao. Becky's matches rely a lot on the crowd interaction and Shayna is as dull as dishwater.
Im glad that WWE haven't cancelled their shows as well, it's just surprising that a show of Wrestlemania's status is going to be done without fans in attendance. I feel sorry for Drew McIntyre and Rhea Ripley who won't get to have their big Wrestlemania moment in front of fans.
I watched Raw last night and even though most of it was a rerun of the men's royal rumble from this year it still felt good to have some sports on.
Yeah it's going to feel weird especially for anyone who will win a title on the day like Mcintyre (unless they swerve and have Lesnar retain)
Edges first match back too but I think his match with Orton will be fine without the fans tbh.
--
Byron getting embarrassed was good last night
Nxt Takeover and Hall of Fame aren't going ahead atm.. Will probably be in the PC as well as backup.
apologies for the triple posts, Hall of Fame is rumoured to be delayed till Summerslam which in a way wouldn't be a bad thing what with British Bulldog inducted and the whole famous Bret Hart match in England at Summerslam 92!
Wrestlemania taking place in the wwe development centre, that should be interesting
Sasha's new theme is FINALLY going to be available tomorrow!
I don't know why it took them so long, but yas!
Day 1 & Day 2 of Wrestlemania being taped Wednesday.
WrestleMania 36 is this weekend! It looks like Seth Rollins Vs Kevin Owens will be one of the matches taking place on night 1 but no other order of matches have been announced yet. Braun Strowman has been confirmed as replacing Roman Reigns in the match against Goldberg for the Universal Championship.
All hell is breaking loose in WWE right now!
Numerous wwe talent has been released today. I can't remember every one but these are just to name some..
Producers
Kurt Angle
Lance Storm
Billy Kidman
Finlay
Some other producers too that I've forgotten.
Longstanding referee Mike Chioda
The writer behind Mandy and Otis's current storyline
Then..
Luke Gallows
Karl Anderson
Curt Hawkins
Zack Ryder
No Way Jose
EC3
Drake Maverick
Eric Young
Mike and Maria Kanellis
Sarah Logan
Lio Rush
Heath Slater
The Colons
Rowan
Rusev
Sure there's some I forgot but quite a big list!
That's heartbreaking.
But it was always gonna happen unfortunately </3
I heard that the producers are all actually furloughed and not released. Which makes sense considering that most of the production has come to a halt. Apparently they have to save $4m p/m. Goldberg's one appearance at Saudi was $4m! Ugh. I'm said for the talent, especially due to it hitting at such a critical time. Had Vince not been a part of XFL, these firings would have probably have been the usual standard. But they're releasing more this year due to the pandemic affecting the business. Such an unfortunate time, man </3
To top of the bad 24 hours for WWE, legendary announcer /wrestlemania host Howard Finkel has passed away
He is the voice of WWF/E for me
Gutted.
The greatest in ring announcer of all time. One of the voices of my childhood. RIP Howard
Sad to hear about Howard Finkel passing away . I don't think anyone will be better at ring announcing than him and I will always remember his unique way of announcing winners of matches, "HERE IS YOUR WINNER... ANNNND NEWWWWWWWWWWW WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION CHAMPION"
A voice of my childhood as well. Enjoyed watching what was then the WWF with my brother. We both remember Howard in a toga...
Rest in peace, Howard, you'll be sadly missed....
WWE are uploading the Superstars from December 1992 to the week before Wrestlemania IX to the network today apparently.
Shad Gaspard of Crymetyme Rest In Peace. For anyone who doesn't know. He went missing during swimming with his son who he instructed beach officials to save his life before his own. A big wave pulled him underneath and they've been searching since Sunday when this happened. Shad was confirmed to be the body washed up today.
So damn heartbreaking but heroic at the same time.
Devastated
Really sad! </3
Rest In Power Shad!
R.I.P Shad Gaspard. Cryme Tyme had some funny moments when they were in WWE and as well as being remembered for that Shad will also be remembered for how much of a hero he was. He once thwarted an armed robbery by himself so he was definitely someone who put others first before himself.
That is absolutely horrific RIP Shad.
RIP Shad Gaspard. That's awful news and tragic to hear what happened.
Question for you all: Who is the most underrated wrestler ever?
Renee Young, Producer Adam Pearce and KaylA Braxton among the people who have tested positive.
Now that Charlotte is out of action maybe WWE can try pushing the likes of Bianca, Liv, Ruby and Kairi more. All of them are severely underutilised right now. Io, Asuka, Sasha and Bayley are all really slaying the women's division for me at the moment!
I make do with highlights on Channel 5 on Sunday. It's good to see it back on terrestrial television as highlights form.
Just bumping this as some of the matches for Summerslam look they could be fun..
Seth Rollins vs Dominic Mysterio
WWE Championship Drew Mcintyre vs Randy Orton
Raw Tag Team Championship Street Profits vs Andrade and Angel Garza
United States Championship Apollo Crews vs MVP
Asuka and Sasha for the raw women's championship should be confirmed as well by next week!
Nxt Takeover & Summerslam this weekend. Anyone watching (outside of me, Jon and Lee).
Predictions
Johnny Gargano - North American Champ
Adam Cole
Io Shirai
Keith Lee (predict a WWE style messy ending as Keith isn't losing the title this quickly..)
I'm sure there is another match I'm forgetting.
--
Apollo
Angel and Andrade (could also lose though and they break up with Andrade turning face)
Bayley
Mandy Rose (but want sonya win)
Fiend
Asuka
Seth Rollins
Randy Orton (I'll be happy with either winning and also not too sure who is going to win. Just thinking Orton is currently at his best in years right now but Drew has been booked strongly as well. Gah!!)
Yeah I'll be watching both of those shows, I'm really looking forward to the ladder match for North American Championship at NXT Takeover and seeing what happens with the womens championships at Summerslam. It will be interesting to see how Dominick Mysterio does in his first professional match as well.
My predictions:
Velveteen Dream (although I hope Cameron Grimes wins)
Io Shirai
Adam Cole
Karrion Kross
Breezango
Finn Balor
Andrade & Garza
Randy Orton
Apollo Crews
Dominick Mysterio
Bayley defeats Asuka
Asuka defeats Sasha Banks
The Fiend
Mandy Rose
Oney & Danny
Bronson Reed > Eek. They need to keep Velveteen away no matter what though... <
Finn Balor
Pat McAfee > I can see an Undisputed Era split coming. Whether it's tonight or on NXT this week, idk. I can see Roderick staying in NXT a little longer whilst the other 3 are "called up" to SD tbh <
Io Shirai > Ugh. Just like Keith vs Karrion, this match has happened TOO SOON. I don't want Dakota to lose, but I don't want Io to have this short a reign! <
No Contest > I can't see any other way that protects Karrion and Keith at the same time. <
---
Drew McIntyre > This is going EITHER way. I can see Orton winning coz he is RED HOT rn, but I feel like they are just scratching the surface with Drew and his reign. <
The Fiend > Regardless, they need to get the belt off Braun. His reign has been abysmal. I don't think Fiend having the belt helps anyone and it only pisses people off when he loses his matches (for whatever reason - he's just all gimmick to me)... <
Bayley > Sasha will successfully help Bayley retain... <
Asuka (RAW) > ...whilst Bayley will inadvertently cost Sasha her belt! <
MVP > Apollo has been a bit of a non-champ too... MEH <
Dominik > Clever to hide his wrestling ability by giving him a huge gimmick match. I can't see Dominik losing, but who knows? <
Garza & Andrade > They've really messed up Street Profits reign! Let them lose the belts, then in a few months time give them the reign they deserve. Plus, Garza & Andrade are killing it atm. <
Mandy > Would love a curveball here, but I can't see Mandy losing this stipulation. A HUGE moment for the two of them though. The first non-McMahon related non-title feud for the women on a big 4 ppv in a while I believe! <
Wowww what a debut match for Dominik.
Nxt was fab. I loved every match on it. Karrion Kross unfortunately suffered an injury which is a shame considering he won the title. Hopefully he won't be out for ages.
As for Summerslam.. I thought both the women's matches were brilliant. Sasha, Asuka and Bayley are really saving the women's division right now with these fun matches. I would like women like Bianca and Liv to get more of a shine though.
Dominic was impressive as well. Really enjoyed the Drew and Randy match too but the roll up was such a dumb way to finish the match ("the most devastating move in all of wwe" according to what cultures Simon Miller - don't really watch review shows on YouTube at all but I've been watching his stuff for the past year and he's so charismatic and makes me howl sometimes. I really wish wwe would stop resorting to those finishes so much in general. There's far too many of them...
Bray and Braun was kinda dull. I wasn't expecting it to be the main event tbh however I guess with Roman Reigns returning obviously I got why it was last. Roman looked good. I think he's done something to his teeth he legit didn't give me any baby face vibes there at all . Perhaps could be slotted into an anti hero role and I'd be ok with that or.. You know as a bad ass heel. It really wouldn't be a bad thing at all.
Forgot to add that I thought Io v Dakota was a nice little match. Io is my favourite women's wrestler for the past year but Dakota is really coming into her own since she turned heel last year!
Had a £25 bet on Rollins/Mandy Rose/Wyatt all winning their respective matches, so got a nice £50 win this morning
I saw both womens matches and they were both fantastic. Especially Sasha vs Asuka.
Those 3 are by FAR my superstars of the year so far. All brilliant!
The ladder match for the North American Championship was my favourite match of the weekend across Takeover & Summerslam, it was a really fun match and it wasn't obvious who was going to win. We'll see who will be Damien Priest's first challenger for the title. I knew there was no way that Karrion Kross wasn't going to win the NXT title and I guess it had to be done in order for Keith Lee to move to Raw.
As for Summerslam apart from the Asuka Vs Sasha Banks match there wasn't much else that notable that happened other than Dominick's first match and the finish to the PPV after the main event which I definitely did not see coming!
A number of matches have been added to the card for Payback during tonight's episode of Raw:
Women's Tag Team Championship: Bayley & Sasha Banks Vs Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
Universal Championship: The Fiend Vs Braun Strowman Vs Roman Reigns
United States Championship: Apollo Crews Vs Bobby Lashley
Keith Lee Vs Randy Orton
I hope they don't book Keith Lee badly on Raw after how good he's looked on NXT over the past year or so but I don't have a good feeling about it based on previous NXT call ups. It sucks that they've changed his theme music to a generic rock/heavy metal theme. The theme he was using before was one of the best in WWE.
That punt kick from Orton to Mcintyre first time round was hilariously bad. He kicked the wall 😂😂
Well... I definitely didn't see Roman aligning with Paul Heyman coming (even though fans had been wanting it to happen a while back)!!
Oh and with regards to the NXT title due to Karrion being forced to give up the title because of injury... Gargano v ciampa v balor v Cole in the first ever fatal four way 60 minute Iron Man match! Should be excellent.
Apparently according to some internet reports The Rock and his whole household have tested positive for Coronavirus. If this is true then I hope he and his family make a quick recovery
Edit: He's actually confirmed it himself!
First memory of them in WWE was from 2003. Sad to think both aren't around anymore
The first match and the last match of Clash of Champions were awesome. The way Sami Zayn won the ladder match was pure genius and the whole storyline surrounding Roman Reigns is the best thing in WWE at the moment and the storytelling in his match with Jey Uso tonight was brilliant.
Clash Of Champions was a solid PPV! One of the better start-finish PPV's in recent memory for me.

The draft is next week. What are we thinking and predicting.
Going to RAW:
- The Fiend
- Alexa
- Baron Corbin
- Cesaro & Shinsuke
- Matt Riddle
- Rhea Ripley
- Kofi & Xavier
- Sheamus
- AJ Styles
- Lacey
Going to SMACKDOWN:
- Angel Garza
- Bianca
- Street Profits
- Ricochet
- Billie Kay
- Undisputed Era (minus Roderick, maybe?)
Going to NXT:
- Kevin Owens > Hes being moved I think, so if it's not my slight curveball choice of NXT, then he'll be heading to SD <
My predix would probably be
Raw
Fiend
Alexa Bliss
Nikki Cross
Sheamus
New Day excluding Big e
Drew Gulak
Cesaro and Shinsuke
Candice Lerae and Johnny Gargano
I can't remember how many there is each.
Smackdown
Angel Garza
Riccochet
Street Profits
Akira Tozawa
Billie Kay
Kevin Owens
Chelsea Green
Humberto Carillo
NXT
I mean Ember has gone back already.. I think Chad Gable could get moved to NXT.
I'm tempted to include Tomasso and Mercedes as call ups for main roster options too.
Well I did far better with my Raw picks than Smackdown
Smackdown has literally been really strong as of late and looks set to remain the same with the draft swaps! The Seth and Rey storyline though needs to end already. It's gone on for what feels like forever :/
I think Raw's roster looks way stronger than Smackdown's after the draft. I can definitely imagine that AJ Styles will soon feud with Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship after Hell In A Cell and now that Bray Wyatt, Matt Riddle, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy have all joined Raw there could be several contenders in the near future for the title. I was hoping that the tag titles would get merged once the champions got drafted to the opposite show but what they did was stupid by just having New Day and Street Profits swapping the belts.
Sasha v Bayley was the best match for me. I'm also glad Sasha won as I was getting tired of Bayley being champion still. She's really progressed as a heel though.
Reigns v Uso was fantastic in the storytelling aspect but it did drag on a bit which kinda let it down slightly and Drew vs Randy was decent but definitely the weaker of the three. I liked Drews reign but I didn't mind him dropping it to Orton even if it was the 3rd match in their feud!
Paige and her boyfriend had quite a terrifying ordeal yesterday when a creepy stalker entered their house and according to the guy 'symbols led him to the home'.. :/ thankfully he's arrested now.
This happened to Sonya Deville a few months back too. What is wrong with some people
Looks like Renee Young left because she is pregnant.
WWE officially moving from the Amway Centre to Tropicana Field. They'll set up residency there as of December 11. Unless they've negotiated a short term extension of the Amway deal then it looks as if a week or so of television will be taped at the Capital Wrestling Center where NXT currently films. Reports suggest they'll be at Tropicana through to WrestleMania.
That's great news about Renee. This is interesting as now two thirds of the now defunct The Shield are going to be fathers as Seth and Becky's baby is due next month!
Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose in WWE has had a hell of a year as well. Topped the 500 wrestlers list for 2020 & is 9+months into his reign as AEW World Champ (I know this is just WWE only thread but just adding this in).
Yeah that is great news about Renee Young being pregnant, it's long overdue I think. Roman Reigns's wife gave birth to twins this year as well so all 3 members of The Shield have become/will become fathers in the space of less than a year.
Survivor Series was mostly awful imo. Didn't like the clean sweep for Raw, didn't like John Morrison getting dumped out of the battle royal first. I really wish WWE wouldn't waste his return (outside of the tag title win).
Bored of Nia, Shayna and Lana. Probably the worst ending to a 5 on 5 match ever and Smackdowns women's team should have won. They had the best team by far. The only standout on team Raw was Peyton Royce.
Tag title match was alright I guess but didn't care for it overall.
Sasha v Asuka and Drew V Roman were the best matches.
As for The Undertakers farewell. Pretty poor imo but it's quite the moment seeing him actually retire now (although I do still have doubts this is the last time tbh).
Ngl AEW's Full Gear won out of the ppvs this month for me!
I am looking forward to Wargames though.
Still yet to watch most of lasts nights show, the men’s elimination match was bad. If Jey Uso is heel now why was he the last man standing? Why would be want him to overcome the odds and not say Otis?
The Battle Royal was a waste, I’m really sad Angel Garza has cut his hair too.
The Undertaker farewell was emotional. Being a long time fan and thinking he’s retired about 4 times now is quite emotionally draining to follow. why bring everyone out too if we couldn’t see them say bye to Undertaker. Plus why was Kane in gear what was the point if we didn’t see them together one last time? Also looked odd Kane not shaking anyone’s hand, maybe he’s strict on the COVID guidelines.
The women's 5 on 5 match was booked so, SO badly. That ending was NOT IT. I get what they're aiming for with Lana but this does literally NOTHING to further the story!? The main complaints from people is that we can't feasibly see her beat anyone, so to have her as sole survivor despite doing nothing and not really showcase much potential at all is a choice....
Bianca really should have been sole survivor if SD was to have eliminations. But their team this year deserved the clean sweep.
Edit:
Men's 5 on 5 - 4.5/10 (RAW should Not have had a clean sweep)
New Day vs Street Profits - 8.5/10 (amazing match. They both deserve new challengers to help elevate the tag division more)
Lashley vs Zayn - 3/10
Asuka vs Sasha - 9/10 (MOTN - They can fight forever imo - wish it was longer)
Women's 5 on 5 - 5.5/10
Drew vs Roman - Haven't seen yet but no matter how hard they try I just CAN'T get on bored with Drew. Oops.
Rest in peace to former intercontinental champion and Royal Rumble inventor Pat Patterson 😭
Congrats to Becky and Seth on welcoming their first child Roux today <3
Carmella tonight, surely her best match?
05.0 out of 10 | Drew vs AJ > Even AJ struggled to save this for me. I just found it boring and predictable. I just cba with Drew. <
08.5 out of 10 | Sasha vs Carmella > Sasha manages to get the very best out of EVERYONE. Her adaptability is ridiculously underrated. Carmella is a solid (if generic) worker, but she did great in this match. I've rewatched it again since and enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time. Enjoyable! <
07.0 out of 10 | New Day vs Hurt Business > Solidly decent. Everything that happened was to be expected, but still decent. <
04.5 out of 10 | ShayNia vs Asukarlotte > Predictable that it was Charlotte... I'd have liked her return more if she teamed up with Lana and Asuka had a match against Peyton instead or something. The match itself... idk. I think they made Asuka and Shayna look awfully weak? Asuka should have been getting the upper hand more, SHE'S THE WOMEN'S CHAMP FFS and Shayna should be her challenger at the rumble, imo - but... not with that booking. They protected Nia again... and FOR WHAT!? Nia lost against Lana clean as a whistle literally a week ago... ugh. The match was fine but the booking decisions ruin this for me. <
I'l comment on the rest, if and when I watch them. I saw the final 10 mins or so of Fiend vs Orton... it was fun. But I hate Wyatt/Fiend as an in-ring performer. I find him so bland.
Jon Huber (Luke Harper/Brodie Lee) has passed away
Said to have been lung failure. He was 41 years old. So sad. You can tell that he was a good and nice guy.
so f***in sad. I have been following his aew stuff after he left wwe and he was really starting to pick up with his career again winning the tnt title and facing Jon Moxley earlier in the year. Then we have the Wyatt Family stuff too and he was such a sweet guy from what I saw of his on YouTube videos. This feels really surreal as we haven't had many wrestlers pass away whilst being an active member at the time since Eddie. (Lionheart guy from British wrestling last year but I don't watch that so a bit indifferent there).
I can't believe this and on Boxing Day as well :/
Rest in Power Jon/Brodie/Luke
This is shocking because it wasn't too long ago that he was the TNT champion in AEW and there must have been plans for him to come back as the leader of The Dark Order. He was only 41 as well which makes it even worse and I've seen some interviews of him in real life and he came across as such a nice person. He did some great stuff as Luke Harper in WWE as well.
R.I.P Brodie Lee
It's crazy how much he's touched everyone practically. Some really nice tributes on Raw from New Day (and Woods in the 8 man tag), Tom Philips and Drew.
There's going to be a special tribute show to Brodie on AEW tonight a bit like the one with Eddie except the matches are... all tag matches of some kind with members of the Dark Order teaming with babyfaces for one night. I expect Jon Morley will also still appear as advertised and that will be tough as he would be amongst Brodies top 5 rivals across wwe AEW and the indies!
Referring back to Raw which came under fire from some that they should have done more than just a pic tribute. There's more reportedly coming this week presumably on smackdown.

On NXT there will be their NXT awards and a North American Title match between Gargano and Leon Ruff! So both should be good for different reasons. It'll be a no brainer that AEW will win the ratings again by a huge increase. I'll be surprised if it's not very much.
Two matches I totally didn't see coming and at the Royal Rumble off all events...
Drew Mcintyre vs Goldberg
Roman Reigns vs ADAM PEARCE - the lol gif is in reference to how random it is not that Adams a bad wrestler at all as he's quite accomplished on the independent scene. 5x NWA champion but what the hell!!
Wwe really likes to throw up some odd title matchups :')
Drew has tested positive to Covid...
Yeahhh. Not sure what this means for the rumble, but they should postpone the rumble until they can have crowds anyway! Plus the amount of people that are likely to be in the ring all at once? Yikes.
Have a Summer Mania instead (June/Jul time). RR in March...
Wow Raw was erm, messy, one of the worst in recent memory for me. That says a lot too cause at least the last 6 months of Raw haven't been great, especially women's wrestling wise sadly. I think with the Covid outbreak there that should maybe make them think they should delay the Rumble, RR is such a special event, without a crowd it will lose a great part of what makes it exciting.
Agree with you on the Raw women's wrestling side of things. The only matches I'd argue were strong matches last year were any involving Asuka and Sasha/Bayley (latter being smackdown stars). The raw side women's and shows in general have been abysmal for ages now. Easily the worst of the shows out there right now.
The best bit about RAW was the Orton/Triple H/Alexa stuff. The rest... MEEEHHHHHHH!!
Why do Charlotte and Asuka have the tag titles, exactly? There is NO NEED if they are just gonna shove Charlotte into a feud with Lacey bloody Evans!? I can only assume it's coz WWE think Charlotte needs to have a title around her waist.
Asuka is the only main roster champ that doesn't have a feud building for the rumble... surely it's easy enough to throw Peyton into the match against Asuka to see how she performs in a singles match at a big PPV. It's just a shambles in all honesty. So many women had segments on SmackDown... but no match and no Sasha (but I'm fine with that tbh, she doesn't HAVE to be there every week).
I just need the women's tag belts off of Charlotte and Asuka so that Charlotte can FINALLY have a feud where she's not in a title picture (I'm pretty sure Lacey & Peyton are gonna win the belts before Riott Squad get their Mania moment) and Asuka can have feuds with various people!
Yeah Asuka's run had been so lacklustre after a great summer. This is WWE's fault not hers though. Peyton really deserves a major title ppv match to show whether she's capable or not. I do find it unexpected how Billie is getting more attention than her though. I legit thought she'd not be used well and Peyton would.
There's so many things that frustrate me with WWE right now. The booking of champions (Asuka as mentioned, drews got stale for me after a good 4 1/2 months. Lashley as US champion and barely defends..) splitting up teams and doing nothing after their splits like Iconics, Heavy Machinery.
Just mind boggling creative personally. The alexa stuff is good though!
It's clear that Asuka has just been keeping the Raw Women's Championship belt warm for Charlotte ever since she became the champion which is why as soon as Charlotte came back they lumped her into a tag team with Asuka and then they won the tag titles. They did this just so Charlotte can eventually turn on Asuka which would set up their match but everyone knows that's what would happen eventually, there's also a chance that Charlotte might win back-to-back Royal Rumbles which I really hope doesn't happen. NXT is what is saving women's wrestling in WWE at the moment, the roster is so thick that they could even have their own tag division and tag titles and they're the ones really who should have a chance at the main tag titles for women.
I think the only way that the Royal Rumble gets postponed is if literally half of the roster test positive for coronavirus. Even Drew testing positive hasn't stopped his match against Goldberg getting booked for the PPV.
To be honest I don't know what it is but Shayna is beginning to grow on me. I think with the overpushing in NXT didn't help me warm to her whatsoever but I guess being shoved with Nia has really helped me to come round. That said give me a Ronda return any day lol.
After last night it's hard to imagine anyone else other than Alexa winning the rumble. The Randy Orton side of it is coming off a bit cringy to me what with the mask.
Part of me is expecting two Alexa’s in the rumble. One getting eliminated quite early with the dark version possibly winning but we need an Alexa win *.*
I want Victoria back this year, please and thank you!
Also, I'm not sure I like the idea of Alexa winning. I'm really not AS sold on this gimmick as much as everyone else (I hate Fiend too). Idk, this may seem like nothing to all of you but I just hate the whole no-selling thing when they're being beaten up and just get up laughing and whatever. It really irks me (and is one of the reasons why I hate Charlotte lmaoooo) and I HATE that they used and buried Asuka for this segment, when it should have been someone else (Charlotte woulda been perfect actually).
So will the rumble be the 3rd straight PPV with no RAW Women's title defense? Ugh.
I hate that they use Asuka as a placeholder so much
Alexa >>>>
I quite like Alexa's gimmick but there are times where it does go a little bit too cringeworthy at times and I agree with the no selling bit especially in Charlotte's case. I'm so bored of her. Sure she's a good superstar but she really is overrated to the max and if it wasn't for the overpushing and constant no selling maybe people wouldn't be put off so much. I guess Alexa also has been pushed super hard since her debut on smackdown too.
As for the NXT in the rumble I think there was way too many last year and some weren't even used much on TV at the time. Although having said that the NXT girls division in the last year has been it's strongest in a few years talent wise so I wouldn't be against most entering this year even though it looks like they aren't going to be involved!
The women are getting the main event on one of the nights! Which makes me more inclined to think we're getting a big return win ala Ronda or possibly Becky (but I don't think she'll come back until at the earliest Summerslam, personally) and maybe, potentially, Trish IF WWE want to give Trish and Sasha the match they've been asking for, forever. All three of those names will be big enough names to return and main event Mania.
Out of current roster I think it's Bianca, Bayley or Charlotte who are winning. Bianca's on such a roll right now!
As long as whoever wins, they know that Sasha is WINNING at Mania coz I am not having her Mania win-loss record become 0-6! I want Bianca to dethrone Sasha, but I'd rather it was at Summerslam or just after.
---
The rumbles are really unpredictable this year and I'm more excited for them both than I have been for a long time, I think.
I agree surely Sasha can’t lose again at Wrestlemania, especially after the year she has had. It would make more sense for Trish to come back and Sasha win her as Trish doesn’t need the win.
I still don’t see how Alexa will be eliminated this time round with her gimmick. Surely she can shoot fireballs at each entry.
Charlotte winning would be even more underwhelming like last year. She's like the female Cena lol.
My picks for the women's rumble win would be... Bianca or Raquel from NXT (if they do have NXT take part that is).
Mens.. Bryan, Cesaro or someone else who's not been announced yet. Can't see Jey Uso being a winner if I'm honest. He could stay in a little while though!
Hopefully not Cesaro.
He is so bland and boring, I really don't understand the hype. No character at all. A bland personality. His move-set is v limited. Take away the big swing and flying upper cuts, what are you left with? MEHHHH.
Nobody remembers his IC runs at all and there is a reason for that. Ugh.
Yeah that's the only thing I agree with. He really needs some personality and is missing strong mic / English skills then he'd be a world champion for sure.
Whilst we're on the subject i was looking at discussions on those unpopular opinions recently and I'd say there's some unpopular opinions of my own.
Keith Lee is overrated
Corbin's Deep Six is a really good move (the only thing that stops me full on disliking him like everyone else does)
Bobby Lashley is boring.
Pleasantly surprised Asuka's title wasn't whipped away from her last night, she's still being treated as an afterthought though which isn't right.
I think they'll drop their tag titles at the Rumble now, WWE doesn't seem to have anything else in mind for Nia & Shayna so surely they'll lose them to Dana/Mandy or Riott Squad at Wrestlemania. What a mess the 3 on 3 women's segment last night was too.
Slightly surprised Edge announced his return for this weekend, love a Rumble surprise, as much as it was one last year would still have been cool again this year. As much as we knew his timeline for recovery, there was still an element of will he/won't he return.
24/7 title needs to do one now also.
Alexa has broken the record for being involved with every main event segment for the last month and Alexa and Asuka became the first females to main event two weeks in a row
royal rumble win will be between bianca, rhea or alexa. I still think we could get three alexa's now judging by last night.
My Royal Rumble predictions:
Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler defeat Charlotte & Asuka
Roman Reigns defeat Kevin Owens
Drew McIntyre defeat Goldberg
Alexa Bliss wins women's royal rumble
Daniel Bryan wins men's royal rumble
The women's rumble could go either way as their are quite a lot of credible potential winners, the men's match is surely leading to Daniel Bryan winning. I've heard rumours about Brock Lesnar coming back and if that happens maybe he could win instead.
Mine would be.
Shayna/Charlotte
Reigns
Drew Mcintyre (would be typical wwe to have Goldberg win though)
Sasha
Women's - Bianca or Charlotte
Mens - Edge or Daniel Bryan
It appears Trish Stratus maybe in tonight’s Royal Rumble. Natalya posted a photo of them together on Instagram relating to tonight, then quickly deleted. While I really hope it’s true it’s rather annoying Natalya has let it slip if so.
^I actually agree with the majority of that post tbh.
My ratings and comments
Charlotte/Asuka v Shayna and Nia 1/10 not a good match at all. I think the three excluding Asuka were saving energy for the rumble as it just felt so half hearted. Right winners though as Asuka and Charlotte was only done to boost Charlotte's accolades even more.
Drew V Goldberg 1.5/10 I like Drew but I think his face run is pretty boring ngl and his promo stuff has gone down hill too not helped by the script he's given and the match was predictable and I'm sick of matches solely consisting of just finishers.
Sasha v Carmella 6/10 Was a decent little match but a bit of step down from TLC.
Women's Rumble 7/10 this would be higher If alexas elimination wasn't shit and some bits weren't as sloppy as there were some but I did enjoy the majority of the match. Strong selection up to Charlotte really although I don't know Santana Garett that well. Seeing Jillian return was not what I thought I wanted but got anyway lol. Billie was entertaining in her character mode. Shotzi, Dakota and Toni should have had a bitlonger and more impact than they got. I guess Shotzi did get a lot in two minutes though. Lana eliminating Nia was a fab moment as was Charlotte getting eliminated by Bianca and Rhea. Victoria was the best bit though OMG. Seems WWE have made amends with whatever issue was going on. First match since 2009 and she looked great too. Bianca Rhea were the right final two imo and I wouldn't have been upset at either winning. So a pretty decent match but it did have its sloppiness at times and Alexa again brings it down for me
Reigns v Owens 9/10 brilliant match and like Houdini the high spots in it were incredible. Both of them told a solid story Imo.
Men's Rumble 10/10 I thought this was much more solid than the women's oops. Was intending to prefer the women's but everything ran much smoother in the men's I thought. Pleased Sami and Morrison had a good little amount of time. The start with Sami, Ali, Orton and Edge was great. Carlito looked AMAZING. Wow. Hurricane was a bit of an underwhelming surprise entry cause he entered a few years back but Christian was a great one. Pleased Rollins didn't return as a loveable face. I'm loving his Messiah gimmick now. Not sad about Edge winning either. It's good to see somebody come from life long injury win although I'd have liked Daniel too. All in all I thought this ran more consistent and was slicker.
The only thing that confused me too was Edge coming out 1st and Orton 2nd when I swear on Backstage they announced them the other way round but never mind!
Solid ppv from sasha onwards!
They must be saving Alexa, seems like they didn’t want to give too much of away last night.
Billie Kay though she was fantastic, absolutely hilarious. So glad she wasn’t the first out, I’m down for Billie & Jillie.
I was confused as well about Edge coming out 1st and Randy 2nd, I can only think the reason why they did it is so that when they mention that more than one person has won from the #1 spot they will actually be able to name someone else in addition to Shawn Michaels. I don't get why they don't make a big deal out of winning from the #2 spot as the wrestler in that spot is there from the very beginning just like the #1. I just realised as well that for only the 2nd time ever the two wrestlers who entered at the start were also the final two.
Yeah I think the same about Alexa and the 1&2 mens thing. I wished they had announced Edge was 1 on backstage to save being inconsistent with their announcements.
Just for pure geekiness sakes I noticed a couple of other stats from the mens rumble.
Edge of course becomes the 3rd to win from #1. I'm surprised WWE hadn't decided to do a #1 entrant win the whole thing much earlier considering the last person was... Chris Benoit 💀💀💀
Randy also has been the #2 entrant twice now, in rumbles when the winner wins from number 1!
Christian's first rumble match appearance in 16 years.
Alexa in the month of january managed to get over 15.5m youtube views from wwe uploads, WAY more than any other superstar.
There is still so much to say from last night, I personally think it was the best Women's rumble so far. The men's felt a bit long to me, also the 2 minute gaps between entries felt much shorter in both rumbles.
How great did Lana look?! Her eliminating Nia was great, was happy to also see Tamina last longer than just a few seconds.
Victoria didn't miss a step either, hopefully she'll stick around or make more appearances. Shame they had to bring in the 24/7 title but Alicia made that work, wonder what's going on with her. She barely did any moves, wonder if they did that on purpose, was great to see her all the same.
3.50 Sasha Banks vs Carmella | Agreed, that it wasn't *quite* as good as their TLC encounter, but it was still a lot of fun and they have surprisingly great chemistry together. Carmella's suicide dive was scary looking and immediately Sasha made sure she was ok Amazing stuff. It's amazing how Sasha has managed to get 2 good/great matches out of Mella. V happy with that match!
Lana & Naomi now a team.
As soon as I saw they were a team I knew they would win the 6 woman triple threat tag team match. Asuka continues to be treated badly as well as she was barely in the match but still ended up taking the pin.
Lars Sullivan has been released from his contact!
Not sad about this one!
So glad Bianca won the Rumble it was so deserved I hope she ends up facing Sasha that would be a MATCH !
I really want heel Naomi. She's much stronger/better as an in-ring performer when she's heel (the era of Team BAD). As a face the character is PERFECT (best entrance in all of WWE rn too!), but her moves come off as too flashy and her matches have little to no substance to them. She's insanely gifted and talented, but I want to see her give a good-great match and I haven't seen one that makes me want to get on board with her the way that wrestling twitter have.
Nia Jax on last night's Raw was hilarious
Nia's "aaaah MY HOLE" is funny. Nice to see them putting some kind of effort into the tag belts again. Naomi vs Shayna was solid last night, just a shame it was so short. Naomi seems to have worked on giving her in ring work some substance and in-ring psychology. Time will tell though. I still need to see that "very good"/"great" match from her.
Lacey is number 1 contender coz her match with Charlotte last night (which was as dreadful as the other 400 times they did it) was a #1 contenders match due to Charlotte always having to be next in line, regardless. I'm genuinely sick of her and it's pissing me off how much she's fallen as an in-ring talent over the last couple of years - but I think that will largely be down to her not having to worry about ever not being in the title picture/a main focus. Where as everyone else kinda has to prove themselves.
I'm scared that they've done this to put the title on Lacey and feed her to Charlotte at Mania for "THE LONG AWAITED REMATCH!!!!!!1!!1" that literally NOBODY wants (although I wouldn't be surprised at a multi-woman match for the RAW title this year adding Asuka to make it a triple threat or Peyton to make it a Fatal 4 Way). I feel so awful for Asuka. After one of my favourite runs with the belt during the Summer prog with Sasha & Bayley, they've truly cast her aside like she's worthless. She deserves better... A LOT better. It's so sad to see
Also, YAY at Garza finally being on TV but UGH that he's with Miz/Morrison who are just a team to put over new talent, when he essentially is a new talent himself. He's SO good. I'm hoping he can break away soon enough and get thrown into the US title picture. Hopefully Ricochet and Humberto can break free from the Main Event show too.
EDIT: Oh and DON'T get me started on that horrific Chamber match.
They should have had qualifying matches. Kofi gets his way into the Chamber, but Mustafa takes him out and takes his place. I'd have had Drew vs Sheamus vs Jeff vs Mustafa vs Ricochet/AJ/Priest (delete one name of those 3) - The Miz has the briefcase so why would he accept a Championship match!?
But this match up is great at getting new talent over so Mustafa, Ricochet & Priest could have benefitted MAJORLY from being in there. Have Morrison and Miz cost Priest the match furthering their feud with Bad Bunny (who is doing great btw!), Kofi could do something with Mustafa, whilst Ricochet got that iron-man rub (enters 1 and is last eliminated or something whilst managing to do crazy spots with Jeff etc..)
Also I’m howling at ‘My Hole’ going viral and trending on Twitter right now
Team BAD (plus JUST before) Naomi was amazing. Her strikes were ruthless and it's my favourite era for Naomi! She has one of my favourite gimmicks and her entrance is stellar (I'm a sucker for neon/glow stuff! ), but as athletically gifted as she is, I prefer a bit of substance to the matches and I don't find that with flashy moves (I'm not too big on "high flyers" in general - but don't mind the occasionally move or two)
I'm very excited for Naomi actually. Especially if she teams with Hurt Business! They should call Ember Moon back up and have her in there too so they can go for the tag belts, she's really uninteresting and could do with the gimmick/heel push, because she's great in the ring, just lacks that character. But I can definitely envision Naomi winning MITB and with the guidance of MVP cashing in later in the year (maybe after HIAC?) and having a great heel run with the RAW belt.
It baffles me as to why WWE never sold Naomi's Glowing SD Title Belt. That surely would have been a huge seller?!
This is my favourite Nia meme atm:
SCREAMING.
Also Lana can actually deliver good matches, Natalya really pulling through
So Lacey Evans is actually pregnant what a bizarre way of announcing it, rubbish Raw on the whole imo.
i honestly believe she was going to beat asuka at elimination chamber too
Same. I guess we'll just get Asuka vs Charlotte for Mania now tbh.
5 days until Elimination Chamber and at this precise moment we don't have a woman's match on the card. I'd say the likeliest possibility is that we get Sasha & Bianca vs ShayNia for the tag titles and Sasha/Bianca end up going down the Cena/HBK 2008 route. But for a PPV with such a cool gimmick (I love the Chamber idea so much) I am not interested in it... like, at ALL.
Drew is gonna win. I assume a whoever enters at 1 or 2 will win the SD chamber and be fed to Reigns in a squash right after...
Asuka has had ONE title defense on PPV since winning the title at Summerslam. That was going to be a pre-show before there was an uproar! Her title reign has been the worst women's title reign I can remember. Bar nobody. She's been used to elevate and advance stories for other women. Lana, Charlotte, Alexa, Lacey... it's disgusting tbqh. She deserves better, man. Her first (non-title) match against Alexa shoulda been a loss and she comes back changed and as a heel and someone who the roster is scared of. Make her dominant again.
I still need to catch up on two weeks of Raw but it does sound like I'm not missing anything outside the Nia thing :') there's some good matches and talent on Raw but I just cba as they are always mostly mediocre and bad. Easily the worst of the wrestling shows I watch right now (Raw, Smackdown, NXT & AEW bar the dark show which I don't watch).
I reckon Drew will win as well. As someone who likes him his run since winning the title back from Orton has been crap really and his promo's have fallen off since his post mania face turn too. He needs a meaningful win though. Can't think of anyone who is ideal to win it off him besides maybe AJ.
Regarding the SD chamber since its to face Roman after the match I'm going to say it won't be Bryan or Corbin. I'll say it could be any of the other 4 actually even Jey could rebel against Roman. Seth will probably attack Cesaro too so maybe not him.
Asuka's title reign is horrendous. WWE have no clue how to book her
properly. She started off so well when she was called up to the main roster and again for about 3 months of her current reign :/
I was enjoying the tag match... then Reginald came out.
The longer Reginald is around, the longer Carmella is in the title picture and I am getting PISSED OFF. LMAO. Why isn't Sasha allowed to have a title feud with anyone other than Mella? Despite BEATING HER CLEAN TWICE ALL f***ING READY!
F U M I N G coz I have this horrible, HORRIBLE feeling that they're gonna have Sasha vs Mella at Fast Lane.
The Miz is the WWE Champion once again in 2021 lol. What a terrible end to Elimination Chamber! Are they just going to abandon this Bad Bunny storyline they've got going on involving The Miz?
While I'm happy for the Miz to get another championship run, it still feels odd in 2021 when his last was 2010. Just shows how much time in between they have wasted on bringing back older stars when really it was people like The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus time to shine.
No mention of Asuka last night either from what I've read? I decided to watch the Broken Skull sessions with Sasha instead of watching the PPV. Loved how when she stole that child's headband on NXT that it actually wasn't planned, true heel.
Was the last time asuka defended on a ppv was on a preshow against Zelina?
Also The Miz really deserved a world title run during his feud with John Cena or Daniel Bryan. I'm okay with a short title run but he deserves it, although he will probably lose at Fast Lane.
It was in September! It was meant to be on the pre-show but got bumped up after uproar on social media.
that is shocking
