Haven't heard the whole EP yet but caught 'Too Sweet' on NMF and instantly loved it! Looking forward to hearing the rest of the songs.

'Too Sweet' debuted at #8 yesterday! 'Wildflower and Barley' also appeared at #86 with 'Empire Now' at #92.

The album also re-entered the chart at #42, after the EP was tagged onto it to become 'Unreal Unearth: Unheard'.

Hozier should have re-released his Unreal Earth album with these songs.

Posted by: Bjork 2nd April 2024, 05:34 AM

they did on streaming but guess you mean the physical

Hozier should have re-released his Unreal Earth album with these songs.

I doubt they were expecting it to be anywhere near as successful as it has been, the EP wasn’t even combined with the album on streaming until late last week.

Posted by: pippa 2nd April 2024, 11:34 PM

It could lead to them repackaging the album based on the current big interest.

Posted by: Bjork 3rd April 2024, 08:01 AM

problem is if they want vinyls, that needs a lot of time to be done

Posted by: Herbs 3rd April 2024, 08:21 AM

Frickin love that Hozier is relevant again smile.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 5th April 2024, 09:13 AM

#1 on Apple's Today's Hits, moved up on HHUK + added to the Radio 1 playlist today - it could in with a shot at the official #1 next week!

Posted by: Bjork 5th April 2024, 10:08 AM

1000% #1

Posted by: Padamic Tension 6th April 2024, 08:58 PM

I'd love to see hozier go number 1 officially

Posted by: Bjork 7th April 2024, 09:15 AM

what I still don't understand is
why didn't he include Too Sweet in the original version of the album and is only putting it out now with the deluxe?

He hasn’t said, just that he felt the Unheard tracks didn’t fit in the original album “for different reasons”. ‘Too Sweet’ (supposedly) wasn’t going to be pushed a few weeks ago, so they clearly didn’t realise how well it would be received.

Posted by: pippa 7th April 2024, 09:52 PM

Leaving out too sweet on the album is baffling.

Posted by: Bjork 8th April 2024, 07:21 AM

Maybe it didn't fit the album theme, I think the album is based on Dante or something like you know this trip to hell or something
so maybe it didn't fit, although I'm not sure if all tracks on the album are related to that...

Posted by: pippa 8th April 2024, 11:27 PM

It is so unexpected to see Hozier having such a sizeable hit.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 9th April 2024, 04:17 PM

Now #1 in the OCC’s update for today!

Posted by: Dobbo 10th April 2024, 08:02 AM

Wow imagine thinking he would EVER potentially have a bigger hit than Take Me To Church? What next, Passenger returns with a 2024 #1 as well?

But this is seriously good, can't believe I'm liking it as much as I am.

Posted by: Padamic Tension 10th April 2024, 07:32 PM

Id be very happy to see Hozier hold the number 1 now that he is there, i think its looking good to happen.

#1!

Is it possible that the Northern Attitude feature kinda put his name back out there after a lot of the GP forgot about him post TMTC?

Posted by: All★bySmashMouth 12th April 2024, 05:04 PM

Well done for his first UK #1!

Wasn't expecting him to do this well after the second album release years ago.

I don’t think it was specifically that, Eat Your Young did pretty well for him last year.

Posted by: Bjork 14th April 2024, 07:30 AM

glad he got his first UK & Ireland #1, now we need the US #1 biggrin.gif

he talks about the meaning behind the song in here

That’s true I forgot about Eat Your Young, though it only had a handful of weeks on the chart didn’t it?

It did, but showed the strength of the fanbase he’d built up since his last album. They’re not quite as big of course, but they’re similarly very very loyal. laugh.gif

Posted by: Padamic Tension 14th April 2024, 09:32 AM

He has waited a long enough to get his number 1 so I'm sure it means a lot to him and he is probably as surprised as we are by the success of it.
It's good too it's giving his album sales a bit of a lift aswell.

Posted by: Bjork 23rd April 2024, 08:10 AM

new US #1 yay smile.gif

First #1 for Hozier in the US after Take me to Church stalled at #2
and first Irish #1 in the US since Sinead's Nothing Compares 2 U in 1990!!
at least the US was spared of Westlife and Boyzone biggrin.gif

Why does the chorus melody of 'Too Sweet' remind me of Aneka's song 'Japanese Boy'?

Got the rave.dj website to make this mash-up:
