Howdy.
The votes are in and (finally) counted so let the results begin! It would be just lovely to see you here at 7:30 tomorrow when I shall be revealing who submitted and voted for what, MUCH EXCITE.
In the meantime, feel free to speculate who will win / who submitted which song / who will come last etc. Although please don't give away any of your own votes or which track you sent.

I'm guesing that Tony sent in Rollerblade Skinny, Suedehead is responsible for the Auteurs, and Severin submitted the Guilty Hands.
Looking forward to these results. I don't think I'm going to do too well, but I can hope.

-A forgotten 80s new wave gem
-Some psychedelic rock
-The dancefloor hit of summer '11 (Hits will probably come through for me on this)
-A song by the next M83/Passion Pit/Naked and Famous
-Something generally Suede-y.
2 out of 6 isn't bad.

Just hoping my debut entry doesn't flop completely. Also wondering whether Thomsen entered the Bellowhead song, as the genre description is in Danish. Other than that I could see a few tracks such as Like a Punk and the Blue Gowns one being either fiercely hated or loved depending on the voter.

I counted 4, of which I contributed one. But both Turboweekend and Oh Land have seen a fair bit of attention outside Denmark, not sure about I got you on tape.
It won't be long until we find out anyway.

Never mind.
The closest to a "dancefloor hit" in UP5 just didn't appeal to me whatsoever because of its flat vocals and lack of a tune.

A second strong batch of points sees Foster The People jump up to the top of the table, pushing Girls down to second. Full points from me lifts Lia Ices right up to the top three. First Aid Kit, Rebecca & Fiona and LaKroix also all ensure they don't end up with a nil points finish.

Maximum points catapults Crocodiles into an eight point lead ahead of previous leaders Foster The People. Good points for When Saints Go Machine and Active Child also move them up into strong positions within the top 5. Only one more track gets off the mark here, the four points for Two Wounded Birds lifts them up to 16th. Eleven tracks have still to score, could we be in for our first ever nil pointer? (You will note that there is no 1 pointer, I only realised while typing this up that there was no 12 point vote so I've moved everything up a place to correlate with other people's points)

Severin's votes even things out a bit as he votes for six of the tracks yet to score, the biggest movement as a result is The Skints moving all the way up to ninth. Mr. Little Jeans finally manage to get a song off and running while the other one remains pointless, perhaps having two tracks by the same act has hampered their chances? The biggest beneficiaries towards the top end are The Auteurs who leap into the top 3 while Two Wounded Birds are on the edge of the top 10 after capitalising on the lack of points for the songs just below them. Points for so many of the others leaves Severin's own track, The Guilty Hands, at the foot of the table.

Maximum points for Games pushes them to a new high of second, now only a solitary point behind Crocodiles. There is now a four way tie for 3rd place as things are beginning to tighten up in the top 10. Mr. Little Jeans' other track, Rescue Song, gets off the mark and leapfrogs Angel in the process. Still four songs on zero. ▲▲▲'s love of the tracks towards the top end push his own effort towards the foot of the top 10, he is however comfortably the highest placed track from someone who has already voted.

SKOB is currently stuck down in 20th with his own track but hopefully he will take cheer in his two favourite tracks of the competition benefiting hugely and mirroring the top two places here also. No points for Crocodiles see them slip from the top to 4th. The Auteurs and Active Child continue to pick up solid points and bounce back up the top 10 while Two Wounded Birds break into the top 10 for the first time. Points for The Guilty Hands sees them off the bottom and Rollerskate Skinny also get off the mark. Mimicry and John Murphy are now the only entrants yet to score.

And now it's just Mimicry who have yet to score as John Murphy goes from one extreme to the other and bags himself maximum points from Zechhh. Crocodiles capitalises on nothing for Lia Ices to move within 2 points of regaining the lead. Phantogram get their first maximum and leap up to sixth as a result while Turboweekend also return to the top 10. Despite receiving points, Girls fall out of the top 10 for the first time since starting so well while Two Wounded Birds also slide with them. Moi Caprice are the major beneficiaries lower down as 8 points moves them up into the top 20. Thomsen can be pleased with how his own track is doing so far as When Saints Go Machine is currently looking at a top 10 finish.

I just looked at my votes as I couldn't remember the order I voted but Lia Ices just fell short for me. Iirc, it was one of the growers but in the end didn't make enough of an impact to score any points off me.

Firstly, a big HELLO to Horatio whom I believe is playing along for the first time - thanks for joining in, always good to have some new people involved!
Horatio's points ensure that the lead changes yet again as Lia Ices are narrowly behind Crocodiles, Active Child share the lead for the first time too. It's all getting particularly tight as points for both Foster The People and Games keep them easily in contention. Lower down the scoreboard, Bellowhead climb significantly to a new high of 13th while Adam Tensta, Oh Land and Rollerskate Skinny continue their ascents too.

Tyron up next and I'd imagine he has to be a tad underwhelmed by how his track is doing so far. On the plus side, Games was his favourite track and his maximum lifts them to the summit of the leaderboard. He also triggers good leaps for Active Child, Bellowhead and Oh Land (ABOUT TIME ). LaKroix have either scored 4 or 0 so far and the nicest thing I can say is that they increase their total by 50% as a result of this set of votes.
I hate to mention this yet AGAIN but Mimicry are still yet to get off the mark. Eeeek.

Ben's up next and surely will be pleased as to how things are going so far as Games are looking like contenders to win. His votes do push him down from the top spot but (yet again) his 20 pointer is the track that now takes the limelight. Oh Land (Yay!) benefit the most and storm into the top 10, finally changing what has been a rather static lot. When Saints Go Machine drop out of the top 10 for the first time.

Lust For Life was Brett's entrant this time around, it started so well but it appears to be on a slow descent as things currently stand. Biggest beneficiary this time is Rollerskate Skinny who leap up to 12th after getting maximum points. Crocodiles also drag themselves right back into contention, although realistically any of the top few could still manage it. Mr. Little Jeans still suffering with both tracks now back in the bottom 5.

West's own votes push his track down to 9th, the lowest it's been in a while. Crocodiles and Lia Ices open up a reasonable lead on the chasing pack, the leader being 36 points ahead of 6th now which is the largest gap to date. Generous points to Turboweekend and Phantogram keep them in contention for a decent finish while Moi Caprice and Crystal Fighters benefit by moving to mid-table, the mid section is so tight that it will only take one decent score to catapult any track upwards.

Another set of decent points keeps Crocodiles at the top and they extend their lead to 20 points, the biggest gap so far as a result of Lia Ices not scoring. Foster The People bounce straight back up in the top 10 while John Murphy enters the top 10 also, not bad for a track that was stuck on zero for so long - it's proving to be quite the marmite track as it picks up a second maximum score. Mr Self Destruct also favours some of the tracks lower down the leaderboard as the likes of LaKroix and The Guilty Hands close right up on the tracks immediately above them.

Doctor Blind originally submitted a Foster The People track and was good enough to offer to swap it for Crocodiles instead, an act that appears to be paying off so far as he still leads the way despite voting for most of the tracks chasing him - could he become the first person to win BJUP twice? Special mention to The Auteurs as I haven't done so in a while, they keep on picking up middle scores and are currently back up to the dizzy heights of fourth.
At the bottom end, LaKroix finally manage to leave the bottom five while Moi Caprice continue to creep their way higher and higher.

Next up it's our former host with his entry from Two Wounded Birds, a song that started off relatively brightly but has somewhat faded away since the initial sets of votes. Crocodiles immediately regain their 20 point margin over Lia Ices but the latter is now looking under threat from Games. The top six are beginning to break away a bit now. Rollerskate Skinny continue their ascent and finally break into the top 10, how high can it go? The biggest mover however is Bellowhead as the full 20 points sees the track move from 23rd to 14th.

After the initial disappointment, hopefully Tony is slightly more pleased with his progress now as Rollerskate Skinny sits in 12th.
A second maximum for Active Child does the most damage here, lifting I'm In Your Church At Night to within six points of the lead - this is a great result as the others in the top 7 only score one point between them. John Murphy returns to the top 10 and When Saints Go Machine continue to close the gap on those above them. Moi Caprice and Adam Tensta make the biggest moves lower down as they rise to 15th and 20th respectively. A 6 for the Guilty Hands enables them to close to a point of those above them. Mimicry alas remain rooted to the foot of the leaderboard and are STILL yet to score.

Urm... what to say? Perhaps nothing is the best option! Not that I wish to remind you of nothing.
In better news for those previously at the foot of the table, Tom Kay does give points to The Guilty Hands and in the process pushes them up from 27th to the top 20. Games leap back into the top 3 after scoring a maximum 20 here and make everything very tight between the top 3. Another high set of points for John Murphy sees him climbing yet again, definitely proving to be the surprise package of UPV for me.

Like Doctor Blind mentioned, the standard this time was very consistant and made it difficult for me to list most of the tracks in an order I agreed with. Some of my votes are typically trademark Hits votes though.

So I was right about The Guilty Hands, and right about Rollerskate Skinny. Just need Si to have submitted the Auteurs and I'll have the hat trick.
Lust for Life by Girls was mine. I wanted to submit something other than the Northern Irish gems I've submitted the last three rounds and go for something a bit different. In hindsight, I should've gone for a more obscure song. Oh well, next time.

HUZZAH FOR MIMICRY! AUDIBLE GASPS ENSUE!
Hits once again defies all odds and logic with his votes as he finally gets The Storm off to a start of some sort. He also clearly LOVES Mr. Little Jeans as he dishes out both of his highest marks in that direction - They have now had two maximums to date yet still can't quite make it into the top half - however Rescue Song overhauls Angel in the mini race between them. (Best not mention that his votes push his own track back into the bottom 3)
Crystal Fighters sneak into the top 10 while Hits' votes return Crocodiles to the top position... can they hold on this time around?

Pavel up next and his entry, Lia Ices, is yet another strong showing for him. It hasn't scored many points in the past few sets of votes but it looks assured of another top 10 finish with only six votes left after his own. The Auteurs is Suedehead's ( ) attempt at glory this time and it's not doing too badly, although it seems to have been stuck just below the 100 mark for a few rounds now. In a complete turn around of fortunes, Two Wounded Birds receives it's first maximum and pushes it safely away from the bottom three.
At the top end, things switch around again as Active Child take over again. The whole top four look very close though and it really is looking as though any of them could wind up as the winner.

Lia Ices was a real grower, it didn't make much of an impression in the first run through of the tracks - but I loved it more and more on each listen.

TRACK | THE AUTEURS
The Auteurs is Suedehead's (
) attempt at glory this time and it's not doing too badly, although it seems to have been stuck just below the 100 mark for a few rounds now. In a complete turn around of fortunes, Two Wounded Birds receives it's first maximum and pushes it safely away from the bottom three.At the top end, things switch around again as Active Child take over again. The whole top four look very close though and it really is looking as though any of them could wind up as the winner.
Was it that predictable?
To answer Andrew*'s point, they had a number 41 and a number 42 hit but never made the top 40
The Two Wounded Birds song was a fairly clear winner for me so I'm surprised it hasn't done better.

Yet another new act to score 20 points, emphasising how widely spread the votes have been in this edition. It pushes The Guilty Hands firmly into the mid table section. Shakilover's own track is unfortunately not doing quite so well as it currently sits in 25th.
A lack of points for the previous leaders enables Games to move back up to 2nd and Lia Ices to close the gap. The top five are now looking pretty certain to end up as the favourites... but in what order?
Oh and MIMICRY get 10! Could a shock top 10 finish be on the cards?!!!

I'm sorry about that, especially after I got a fine helping of point from you. I know both I got you on tape very and Turboweekend well already, heck looking in the greater view the Turboweekend track is probably the one I've liked most of all tracks entered, but I really vote depending on which tracks have caught me most during the voting period.
Nonetheless you're a fair bit above me, and my debut entry has done very well, so I'm happy at least.
On a sidenote, I think both the Tiesto and Joker remixes of Turboweekend are great, just a somewhat different style.

Well Mart!n/Mikey's votes have left this absolutely wide open as the top 5 are all within 14 points of eachother, it really is looking impossible to call. Unfortunately Mikey is losing in the battle of the Mr. Little Jeans tracks.
Particularly pleasing to me is the rise of First Aid Kit here, I loved that track and am surprised it didn't pick up more votes along the way. Also pleasing is The Auteurs finally breaking through the 100 point barrier. Congratulations to Horatio for picking up his first maximum score too.
With a maximum of 60 points left to play for, only the current top six and Turboweekend can potentially win.

Only forty points left to play for and only one of the current top 5 can now win. Lia Ices capitalises on a third 15 in a row and jumps up to 2nd place, a mere 3 points away from the lead. Crocodiles and Games are just behind her with Foster The People in 5th, they will now need a pretty high score in the next votes if they want to keep in touch.
Rollerskate Skinny and Phantogram benefit here too, jumping to 7th and 9th respectively - the former being the next to make it above the 100 point barrier. This pushes Grebo69's own entry down - it's been in the top 10 pretty much all evening but appears to have been falling of late, can it hold on?

I liked both tracks by Mr. Little Jeans and as I mentioned to Dandy in my voting PM, they remind me of Goldfrapp mixed with Little Boots. Nothing groundbreaking but the two songs I liked a lot.

Bloody typical - first mention my track gets all night and it's whether it will fall out of the top 10 or not! 
If I'd have left the voting just a few days later then Lia Ices would have got my 20 points but I'm glad Phantogram have moved into the Top 10.

Daphne was the only song I liked this time that was a discovery. The rest of my top 5 I already knew and all the other points were given out randomly pretty much.

The Rollerskate Skinny album is reported to be a lost classic of the 90s which predates the likes of the Flaming Lips' work. I already have that Auteurs album. I must listen to it. I never have.

I agree but it's nothing exceptional so didn't expect it to reach top ten.
It's always a bit risky with synthpop/electronic tracks because there are quite many of those each time. But on the other hand Like a Punk is a rap track so I think it stood out quite well too.
All the tracks I've had have been different and ended up to grab the low-mid table position. Roscoe WAS robbed though

How very odd that everybody reckons their own track should have done better
I thought Rescue Song deserved a bit better, had a nice charm too it.
Also Roanna's Song was probably the one I liked least, fairly straight forward text, not a whole lot of surprises/aggression/charm imo, didn't catch me at all. I can understand why some parts of it would catch people though.
Also Kudos to Dandy for setting it up, already looking forward to UP VI.
