After just two votes we have 20 songs with points already, but surely it's only a matter of time before the other 7 get a move on though. James' +20 to 'Beijing' and nothing to 'Ruok' means we have a joint lead at the moment, but nothing has gone past the 20 point mark as of yet. The top 5 has a bit of a reshuffle as Fjord and Maya Payne swap places whist Vallis Alps return to the top 10. I have been amused throughout this contest that I had just sent something that was obviously me and was obviously going to do nothing (as well as all your reactions to it!!! ) - but I do genuinely love this kind of music so it was an easy choice, and yeah, not aiming for the hits here in the slightest, just seeing what a fab power metal song can do in this day and age on Buzzjack.

It's quite the turnaround for Battle Beast as they pick up their 3rd +20, putting them in the top half of the results table. Some thoughts.

Sometimes the competition is so full of ordinary songs that one does end up giving points to the least offensive ones. I remember giving the winner of the very first UP a few points but when it won I thought - "my God that is dull".

Secondly - Ruok is synths swathed in reverb. That is pretty much chill-wave in my book, and if not it certainly appeals to the same ear as chill-wave.

as far as i see it 'chillwave' has become some sort of insult as a description of a song and used totally inappropriately here just to badmouth my entry. yes there is having an opinion but there's also having some sense of TACT.

add into that the fact grebo is a co-mod of this forum and it comes off as unprofessional...

All of my top 3 finished in the top 5 too, two of those in the top 2, so really can't complain this time! (Ages and Matt Lange should have been much higher than bottom 4 tho )

Congratulations Jake (officially)!

Boo at slipping out of the top 10 at the last second, shot myself in the foot by voting Seven so high, although if it had been the other way round, he'd be saying that () but I couldn't be happier with how this evening has gone otherwise, always feels rewarding to send a song that gets a few concentrated high points and as I had no expectations, getting 11th is brilliant. Gonna need to remember my run, I've forgotten it but I think I was just one point away from my potential 3rd top 10.

I didn't take part this month as I had nothing that would have fit the genre parameters (and kept finishing bottom ten every time so lost a bit of interest in all honesty) but I've heard a few of the songs and the winner is very good, well done Jake.
