Sorry I don't really remember any of these songs now and with results starting very suddenly I haven't had a chance to refamiliarise myself with my faves so I won't be able to comment on much but I do remember that being one of the better Lucy Dacus songs I have heard so a good choice from Bjork.

oh my that's quite a lot of high points I see for my entry! Thanks Seven, Dandy and Roba especially for 20s.

I thought 'Decaying''s vocals sounded quite a lot like Grimes in places which is what attracted me to it but xxsagexx's a really cute wistful artist (and the side project of another producer so idk how much of it is real vocals) besides that, so I'm really happy to see this.

(I will relisten to the rest of the contest after work to have some more informed comments, but I do remember my top 2 from Ari Mason and Louis II being excellent, even if the latter was a little less... refined than many UP entries)

I was anticipating last with this track (kinda doesn't even sound indie really lol) so to be 4th up from bottom for now is a nice surprise.

(Rollos was the only one from this aside from my entry to show up in my Spotify wrapped and was my 5 pointer ) would ideally like Iz to win as it did get my maximum points!

I listened to my top 4 quite a lot, but my clear fave in the long run is 'I Have A Love' (that I ranked 4th...). - what a gem!

I've loved There Used To Be A Darkness since I discovered it in 2019 so I'm overjoyed to see it win Unknown Pleasures. That's my second song contest win of the year after never winning one before and both of them with long songs of course.

congrats Rollo, It was my fav song by miles and I easily gave it the top score

happy to finish 5th with Lucy Dacus. Night Shift is such a masterpiece in songwriting. Best breakup song ever. The storytelling alone is incredible and it's a perfect mix of dark sad lyrics but with a sense of humour. The part that goes "you got the 9 to 5/ so I'll take the night shift/and I'll never see you again/If I can help it", kills me every time. Thanks for all that voted for her.

Whoops I kind of forgot about this thread with the BJSC results going on but I got a grand total of zero additional points since I last checked so oof. x

Congrats to Rollo on the win, again it's a song I don't particularly remember (aside from it being very long of course x) so I will endeavour to give it another listen some time soon to remind me of it, I know I did vote for it though so I do approve of it winning! Both of tonight's song contest results having first time winners

19th is an unspectacular result but it's a little better than I was expecting, was pleasantly surprised at how many 10+ point scores it got so thanks to those of y'all who voted for it. Both this and KOAN Sound (which I sent to Club Bizarre) were songs that I had as BJSC potentials a few months back (at the same time as Japanese Television and Hildegard) - those seem to have been the right choices to send to BJSC as they both at least qualified which I think KOAN Sound certainly wouldn't have and caro♡ may not have either judging by their results in the genre forum contests, nonetheless am glad to have found enough song contest slots to send all of them!

I'm up for a Nuggets some time in the near future now, already have a potential entry for one. x

Thanks also to Leww for sending “Make Me”, an absolute banger that I'd overlooked. <3 Deserved to do far better than it did, I assume 'cos this is more of an indie comp or the fact that ppl though it sampled Strike's “U Sure Do” when it actually sampled Donna Allen's “Serious” (which Strike sampled in the 90s tbf) and made it into an entirely different breakbeat track.
