Hey, it’s results time! Well, not quite but in an hour I’ve enjoyed hosting so far and seeing the votes come in, here you will find out who takes the crown this time. I will reveal all 20 votes in a separate post in order of receipt. The senders behind the tunes will also be revealed with each vote. Excite.

After each set of votes, there will be a scoreboard with ties broken as we go. They are broken first by number of voters, then by number of 12s, 10s, etc. Unfortunately there won’t be a running commentary so I’m gonna need you all to do the commentary for me!

I guess there’s nothing left to say except enjoy the show! Kicking off at 6!

Would love this to be a close contest (along the lines of Eurodance) but I really can't see past the song I mentioned in the other thread winning. That'd still be amazing tho so this isn't a negative!

I fear my +12 might struggle in this but hopefully not too badly.

I'm curious, how did you come across 'Waterfall' Snake? I find it interesting because, on Spotify, it appears on literally 53 albums, all seeming to be no-name compilations as if it was a fake version or production music or something. It's a really cool track though!

I don't know how I manage to always give high points to the songs that do really well and yet completely flop with my own entries in this (apart from one time where I did well).

Fantastic top 2 there, congrats on the back-to-back wins Mattias <3 Chez's 2nd place curse striking yet again, I think if I'd not accepted late PFSC votes from Dobbo he'd now literally have a peak of 2nd place in BJSC, BJSC spinoffs, UP, Nuggets, PFSC AND Club Bizarre. Quite impressive really. I was hoping for 'Fortuna Redux' to snatch back the lead in the final vote but both of the top 2 were in my top 3 so I cannae complain! Really liked Dobbo and Dan's songs too, Cody's was one of the ones I was less into although it did sound better on a second listen so overall a pretty good top 5 there. Harry, Wardy and Lewis got robbed. x

Thanks for hosting this Mattias, this was my favourite edition of this to date by some distance I think despite my horrendous result. I think there was only one song in this that I wouldn't choose to listen to again (I won't single it out, I'm not mean like that xx) and even that was pretty good. This one > trance > house > eurodance (exact reverse order of how well I've done in them - someone pick a theme I hate next time please! )

Honestly after the plug session where my song seemed to stand out as not-quite-D&B-enough, I was convinced I'd do poorly and ready to apologise if it bothered anyone. Can't believe I ended up at #6 after all! Thanks everyone for the votes, especially awardinary for my first +12 and I think 4 people(!) for +10s! 'Gloom' was one of my absolute favourites on first listen in the plug session but I thought that was (relatively) just me! I somewhat knew I wasn't destined to stay when my votes started drying out, and I only have myself to blame ofc. given I gave high points to Bloom! I'd be good to host the next one, but it would depend on if it would clash with PFSC as I am down to host that as well, I don't want to do them at the same time and I don't rlly wanna hog hosting, if given the choice I would honestly kinda prefer to host this than PFSC if just cos it's more my type of music and I'd be certain to enter myself, but we'll see nearer the time.

As for theme, I'd be rlly into Dubstep vs Trap as was suggested at the plug session.

I was thinking for Dubstep vs Trap (if that ever is the theme) we have a number system which is allocated at the point of expressing interest and confirmations; half of these will be dubstep and half trap and it’s a 50/50 shot of what you get so we have an equal vs contest?

We could have say pick a number between 1 and 20 as that’s been the rough consistent figure and the member gets pm’d their genre, to still be kept secret apart from the host. Anyone subsequent, e.g. 21, 22, 23 etc will be allocated a genre in turn at the hosts discretion.

A dubstep vs trap theme would be great! I'd be more in favour for a 'you choose which one to send' myself, I'm sure some people will have a great song for one of the genres and something sub-par for the other especially if they favour one over the other.

some more opinions on the matter would be welcome.

I did kinda advertise that contest as a deep house one but also send tropical or future if you like so that wasn't too surprising.

It may well be worth a try but I'm just thinking that trap is probably less popular than dubstep here so we may well end up with quite a few sub-par trap songs in place of great dubstep entries. Just my thoughts.

Funnily enough I had planned on posting the runs myself inspired by Bré doing so in PFSC so thanks for doing the work instead

I had noted that BridgeCow was the only participant with a 100% top 10 record (and having took part in all contests so far) but that sadly has come to end by a very narrow margin!

I'm still not sure about the 90s vs 00s method of doing confirmations for dubstep vs trap (or any two related dance subgenera) but I'd be willing to give it a try if the next host is keen on doing it that way.

I should add that it's points based on positions not on songs entered, although I'm sure that's pretty obvious to gauge :

So 20 for 1st (except vol. 3 where 21 was given) then all the way down to 1 for 20th (or 21st)

I also noticed that me and you Dobbo are the only to have finished top five three times, and though you have the better chart run I'm on my way to claiming all five positions of the top five first; just need 1 and 4 now. I'd expect based on actual points scored I'd be in second now behind you too.

Well between us we have the top 5 locked out! Yes I'd imagine that would be the case regarding songs - when we get further into the contest running we should do a Club Bizarre: Ultimate Edition with the top 2 or 3 from each contest against one another.

Dubstep vs. Trap would be an interesting genre for sure! I can think of a few left field dubstep songs already but I'd probably go for trap purely because I think less people will go for it

Thanks Pete for saving me from being the least successful person who's entered all 4 contests although would be interested to see if that's still the case in a proper all-time table based on the actual points from the contests. Maybe I'll add it up myself at some point unless someone beats me to it xx

I think if we were doing specifically a 'vs.' theme then it would make the most sense to do something like the 90s vs. 00s spinoff, that worked really well whereas for example the Japan vs. South Korea spinoff ended up just being a Japan spinoff with a small handful of Korean songs the only problem with that is if people end up not being able to find a good song from both sides. I think just having a 'dubstep & trap' theme would probably be better, even if it would most likely end up being much more dubstep. Having said that though I think I already have a potential trap flop entry for such a contest while I would have to search for a dubstep one ~

Oh well done Mattias, that was a great tune, love a bit of Middle Eastern music so combining it with drum and bass was fab.

Pleased to see my entry did quite well, I picked it as it sounded like a bit like progressive house or trance with a drum and bass beat I thought, and I do like a mix of dance genres!
