Over to you Doctor: “Although the track has a positive and uplifting vibe, the dark synths and frantic beat that come in at 2:28 make this a track that is perfect for driving late at night, or jumping around a dark and smoke filled dancefloor.”

uhsting's entry certainly lived up to its title *.* and loved the Doctor Blind entry too, an artist Kathaldazia briefly had confirmed for BJSC the other month before swapping so I see the Kath/Doctor B in sync streak continues.

Where did you get those real photos of Mr Blobby's DJ career?

Enjoyed that Nine Inch Nails entry! They're a group I've been meaning to check out more from, especially after loving Halsey's album last year with heavy involvement from them production-wise.

I was tempted to leave my vote until last but I’m going to reveal them here – gooddelta sent Warriors by Brandon Hombre & Trip-Tamine feat ALY! Just a quick disclaimer that I’ve never heard the Imagine Dragons original (which has a mere half a billion streams), nor did I realise it was a cover and was slightly mortified when I found out during the listenthrough. Inadvertently not my most inspired hour I’m afraid but I still love it, even if nearly everyone else played the ‘Dark’ theme better than the host did!

Here's why I sent it: “This is a psy-trance song with lots of minor chord progressions and just generally sounds a bit chaotic and unnerving.”

Ha, no worries, not sure how I avoided a song that has 523m Spotify plays. Needless to say I felt cheap and dirty when I realised (but still love it!). My inspiration for the theme was actually Giant Swan's 55 Year Old Daughter, which I sent to UP as I'd always intended to, but then upon actually looking for another dark dance song to fit the theme I realised it wasn't as easy a task as I'd imagined!

Ahh yes I guess that little back and forth PM was enough to provide a quote for my entry indeed a BandCamp find this time, making up for TheSnake not entering here x

I did say I didn't source my entry from HATE this time... although I discovered after finding the song that it had actually also been posted on HATE Lab (the secondary HATE channel), the taste x

These results have been a bit of a rollercoaster for me, doing really well at the start then a pretty painful drought but recovering a bit in the past few votes! Thanks very much to Jupiter for a rather unexpected 12 (I approve of you seemingly coming more around to instrumentals of late) + Kath for another medal position and Dan, Meekul, uhsting, Colm, Frank, Cody, Jade and Doctor B for the other points!

At the depth of that points drought I was feeling a little gutted at how low I was on the scoreboard ngl as I thought this was an entry that might do decently (I certainly got very addicted to it and had it on repeat for a while when I first found it at least haha) - pleased that it has recovered and might still be in contention for top 10 after all.

So the final scores on the doors…it’s big congratulations to Jade, apparently the queen of Dark, as L Ʌ V Σ N finishes a full 18 points ahead of 2nd placed ARDL from Roba. who himself is 16 points clear of German gem E Nomine from Addy! which ends up a brilliant 3rd on the strength of just 11 votes – most of which were very high points!

Going by order of receipt, Jade incredibly picked up points from the first 13 voters! Which is why I had to switch up the order a tad…

With KRTM, MRD and CAIVA also in the top ten, it appears CAPS lock is the way to win favour in times of darkness…

But a shoutout also to Amelie Lens from k👠th, which finishes in 4th place!

Club Bizarre top tens for Dobbo, Doctor Blind, Awardinary, Cow Cow, ITz Cody and Brer this time around while I’m really happy with 13th after envisaging a bottom five finish upon the Imagine Dragons clanker reveal!

Down at the bottom we have Cottontail, unfortunately coming off worst for J00prstar in a very close middle pack that sees 15 points separate 12th and 22nd. King Rollo’s Eugene by Numb is in 23rd while unfortunately last – I liked it (!) – is lewistgreen’s Boring Bitches by Etta Bond x Raf Riley feat. Lady Leshurr.

One last footnote goes to poor uhsting’s SLAPSLAVE, which roared into a solid position after the opening few votes by order of receipt only to get zero from the final 14 voters! This reveal was certainly kinder.

my CB curse continues x tbh i'm very proud of this entry because it's slaps so hard. it also got number one on my personal chart so i have no regrets sending this at all and should deserve a lot better. imagine the reveal by the order of receipts thanks to the 5 voters who pointed me a lot of points to not put me last x i certainly would have loved to finish a lot higher with this slapper but oh well xx

Honestly a theme like this was basically Jade's to lose from day one! Congrats on yet another song contest victory and a very well deserved one, what an absolute banger

Thank you to Wardy for my last few points there, almost an exact points swap with you! And of course another mega slapper of an entry from Roba revealed last there if only that was an 11 week UK #1 instead of a certain song with a similar name that I don't like quite as much x

Will very happily take a top 10 scrape since it was looking at one point like I was heading closer to the bottom 5 than the top 10! Two (low) top 10s in a row for me in CB (which reminds me the result correction I pointed out in the last results thread hasn't been fixed in the stats thread yet, don't think I forgot about that Dan )

Voted for 6 of the top 10 with Mitchell Claxton and CAIVA both being just a couple of places outside my votes too (they were 12th and 13th respectively with Fïx8:Sëd8 in 11th - oops at me and Chez snubbing each other again, #terraphonia falling on some hard times :'(). 'Vater Unser' was the only one in that top 10 that wasn't fully clicking with me but it is definitely memorable and can see why it did so well too!

Would definitely have liked Sexual Purity and Kobe to do a fair bit better than they did, though I did suspect the former at least might struggle a little hence going out of my way to make sure to post hype for it.

Congrats Jade on a well deserved techno stomping win. Great to see Amelie Lens make the top 5 also and most of my other faves making the top 10 though sadly not myself - I thought melodic techno would be worth a try as I figured there'd be a lot of competition for harder techno but I guess it's just not as popular over here.

The next Club Bizarre is due in October but would would people perhaps be up for a little Best Of round in the interim, now that we've had 20 contests? Would be interesting to pit all the 20 winners together.

Congrats Jade! A great winner and glad it was one I voted for, did always strike me as something that could do really well. Dance Like a Monkey was a fantastic discovery too. I voted for quite a few of the top 10 and as I said, I really liked most of the songs here so no complaints (apart from Noire Antidote deserving better)

Thank you to all who voted Fix8, that's quite an improvement given the dismal BJSC performance, he has a wealth of wonderfully dark material so I was pleased I was able to send him again.

nice to finish with 11th, thank you for the points guys and especially Rich for the 12, I'll take that as a nice personal victory getting the host's seal of approval. I admit I did give up a bit and looked on HATE after discarding various weeby options as being too weeby and not dark, but I really enjoyed my entry's dark pulsating synths and such like, happy it got midtable approval.

'Vater Unser' finishing in 3rd is great, that was an instant highlight and congrats to Jade, also a good entry as this contest was strong across the board, thanks for hosting it so well Rich!

I thought I would like this a lot more than I did, ended up a bit disappointed. Really enjoyed my top 4 but as I said in the voting thread, a much of a muchness after that, listening to the playlist in one go really dragged. Pleased enough at how my entry did, was a bit of a rushed entry as I hadn't seen the initial thread, felt like an apt act to enter and some remixes of theirs are good, but I do wish it was a bit shorter, doesn't need to be over 7 minutes. I was unsure whether Pack of Wolves would have done better but perhaps not given its worse performance in the BJSC semi.

Looking at the scorecard, 22 points swapped between Cody and I in a contest is certainly a surprise!

Really loved this edition, my favourite theme to date and a really high quality so thank you gooddelta for choosing this!

Not my best result but I'm glad some people liked The Room, definitely aiming at the Boy Harsher crowd with it - thanks to any voters and especially the medal positions from Bre, RFC and Michael Some of my faves definitely finished too low for my liking (NIN in particular) but glad to see Vater Unser smashing it in 3rd! oh, wonder what track that was! At some point I think we're gonna end up sending the same song to one of these, it actually almost happened in 134 when TDJ “Open Air” was on my potentials list (along with ishi vu) but I opted instead for the flop-tastic “Dark Kept Secret” by EXUM.

Congrats Jade for winning with a storming piece of techno from Polish producer L Ʌ V Σ N - in parts it reminded me a bit of the outro to “Born Slippy” - sorry I couldn't quite fit it into my votes for what was a rly strong contest. Interested to see what you come up with for the theme of the next contest. Good to see fellow capitalised/acroynm artists performing well, CAIVA in particular was an excellent discovery for me so thanks for that and thank you to Rich for doing a grand job with the hosting. Very pleased to get my highest finish to date in this one as well; MRD is a Norwegian producer that I've been following for a while and the single “Out Of Red” I thought would be quite suitable for this theme, check out “Stamtjønna” too if you liked it. : )

Thanks Addy, I'll see how it goes, sometimes with Club I've sat it out if I really didn't have anything to send for a theme (i.e. jungle), other times I've just missed the thread. But will keep an eagle eye as I really enjoyed this one.
