I don't think they've ever confirmed the next CB single has Jess on it, just that they've worked together again tongue.gif

I'll reserve judgement until I hear this of course but from the names involved, it sounds like the most average song of the year already :')

Posted by: Dobbo 14th January 2018, 12:00 PM

Very interesting mix of artists there. Rudimental sway between good & average and Macklemore in particular has been awful for ages now so doubt this'll be much cop.

Posted by: BridgeCow 14th January 2018, 12:03 PM

I'm excited to hear this, just reallyyyy hoping it isn't another Sun Comes Up

I’m totally prepared for this to sound like Sun Comes Up but OMG MACK heart.gif

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 14th January 2018, 06:49 PM

Jess Glynne is expected to make a comeback this year, so to be featured in a single before her own comes out is the best she could do at the moment, whether it becomes a hit or not.

That said, it's called "These Days". It's registered twice on PPL UK, so I assume they are for the clean and explicit versions, although I'm not totally sure about this. The length is 3:30 min. and it also features Dan Caplen.

Posted by: Bré 14th January 2018, 06:50 PM

People have been saying the next Clean Bandit single will feature Jess for like their last 3 singles laugh.gif

It'll be the same for Disclosure's return when everyone will be betting on Sam Smith being on the lead single laugh.gif

The 60s style organ oh my!

Apart from that, it sounds rather boring to me from the preview I am afraid. Same old slow tempo Spotify friendly 'dance' it sounds like sad.gif

Somebody called Dan making the charts though! ohmy.gif You were saying a while ago there weren't enough Dan/Daniels in the charts now.

Posted by: Midge 18th January 2018, 01:54 PM

I do like the sound of the clip - but again it really doesn't sound like the Rudimental we fell in love with in the first place. That said, I did like "Sun Comes Up" despite it having James Arthur on vocals, and I expect this will probably be excellent tbf. The music they were known for in the first place isn't popular anymore and I guess they are a mainstream artist now.

Posted by: Dexton 18th January 2018, 03:30 PM

Oh wow this is not at all what I was expecting. I actually like it though, maybe more than Sun Comes Up although I'm not sure if this is really dance at all. Despite not being the d&b of former Rudimental, it does still feel very much like a Rudimental song.

Posted by: TMD_24Quavo 18th January 2018, 04:53 PM

Damn this is so different from what I was expecting. This is really good!! I like how all features artists are used very well. I haven't heard Dan Caplen before but he sounds great on this.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 18th January 2018, 05:39 PM

Like this on first listen, even if does have a slightly 'preachy' vibe. Can see this being a big hit.

Posted by: BridgeCow 18th January 2018, 05:47 PM

Oooh really like this, much much better than Sun Comes Up on first listen

Posted by: sergejdordij98 18th January 2018, 05:48 PM

I like it, better than Sun Comes Up in my opinion.

Posted by: Midge 19th January 2018, 12:19 AM

Yeah this is decent on first listen, think it will be a grower too.

Posted by: Meekul 19th January 2018, 12:25 AM

I actually have mixed opinions on 'These Days', lyrically it's absolute beautiful but I'm just not a massive fan of Jess Glynne's voice and the chorus is actually rather disappointing but I'm expecting myself to love this within the next week.

Posted by: Liаm 19th January 2018, 12:50 AM

Omg this is the most 2010-2012 thing I've ever heard in my life

Posted by: Avicii 19th January 2018, 12:39 PM

Love this! The Queen is back!!!

Much more inspired than Sun Comes Up, so it probably won't be half as big.

Official audio

Posted by: The Snake 19th January 2018, 05:26 PM

I don't like it, it is rather boring and not dance really either.

It doesn't sound much like the charting music of 2010-2012 (at least those songs I remember) to me! Although I suppose in terms of music style it is a bit early Ed Sheeran or Aloe Blacc.

Posted by: mdh 19th January 2018, 05:33 PM

I'd put it as late 2013-early 2014 tbh

Posted by: Klaus 19th January 2018, 05:38 PM

omg i love this! Really chilled and I love the mixture of voices. Although maybe not from a Rudimental perspective, feels very odd to come from them.

Posted by: Midge 19th January 2018, 05:44 PM

It sounds like a more oomphed up version of "Same Love" to me. Another great song, obviously.

Posted by: BridgeCow 19th January 2018, 06:07 PM

I'm actually in love with this, it's so chilled and nice and not generic, uninspired trash a la Sun Comes Up, but that ofc means it probs won't be anywhere near as much of a hit, if a hit at all...

Posted by: ML Hammer95 19th January 2018, 06:26 PM

It sounds like a huge hit in the making to me, especially around March time when it's lighter and the weather has started to improve.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 20th January 2018, 08:39 PM

This sounds exactly like the type of song I'll convince myself is amazing, rave about for 2 weeks then be bored silly of afterwards (I Miss You says hi), I do like it a lot atm though

Anyone else think the verses sound a bit like the chorus from Let You Down though?

Posted by: Dart 20th January 2018, 09:33 PM

Doesn’t sound like it to me

oooh really liking this

Posted by: Midge 22nd January 2018, 01:31 PM

The more I hear this, the more I like it. It sounds like a real collaboration of styles.

Let's also not forget the Rudimental single "Free" ft Emeli Sandé was downtempo. On another note, CamelPhat remix makes this sound like almost a different song!

Posted by: Dexton 22nd January 2018, 02:53 PM

I'm really loving the original right now, but what is that remix? It doesn't sound bad but it is literally a completely new song - if not for the title I would just think it's a brand new CamelPhat song laugh.gif

Posted by: Dart 31st January 2018, 05:24 PM

#1 on iTunes!

Posted by: Rooney 31st January 2018, 06:09 PM

I love this - such a tune, I think all the three features work really well.

Yes it is not the pinnacle or originality, but so what?

Posted by: Theo. 31st January 2018, 10:04 PM

It's terrible. It doesn't have anything unique to it that the songs from Rudimental's debut album had, it may as well be credited as Macklemore and Jess Glynne. It's basically a rip off of "Glorious" and "Same Love" but not as good as either of those. God knows why people still care about Jess though, I was hoping she'd done an Emeli Sandé after disappearing for so long.

Posted by: Dart 1st February 2018, 07:55 PM

Has a huge lead on iTunes!! Slay Jess Glynne

As for Mack, I didn't enjoy anything of his of recent (Glorious, Good Old Days) but he's good on this! Really loving this at the moment anyway, it's my current personal chart #1.

Posted by: cqmerqn 9th February 2018, 11:15 PM

Number 2 in the UK this week!!

41 on US Spotify
21 on Global Spotify

Posted by: Dexton 10th February 2018, 12:36 AM

I didn’t mind Macklemore’s recent stuff but they did just fall a bit flat compared to everything else he did with Ryan Lewisf and was a let down by comparison. Glorious was good although I got bored of it quick. These Days is much better than anything he’s done since Dance Off (which is full on banger)

Posted by: Midge 10th February 2018, 12:46 AM

I wonder why Macklemore and Ryan Lewis went their separate ways? They were a dynamite duo.

Posted by: Bjork 10th February 2018, 08:00 AM

what I find funny is that, for what I understand, rudimental wrote the song and only added macklemore at the last minute
but to me the song sounds 100% macklemore 0% rudimental and totally like thrift shop pt 2 or something

Posted by: Hadji 13th February 2018, 12:36 AM

If Rudimental and Jess perform the song at the BRITs, they’d have a big chance of knocking Drake off #1

Well yes her parts are certainly the best parts - and I do like Dan Caplen's verses too. Basically I like half of the input & dislike the other half (the Rudimental production, especially the drop is a bit flat for me).

It is beginning to grow however, much like a lot of their songs do.

2:07 long, surprisingly!

Not bad though not what I was hoping for. I wanna hear a version that turns it into a banger a la MK "17".

Posted by: Dexton 23rd February 2018, 09:45 AM

Somehow both CamelPhat & R3hab (two big names in music with bangers to their names) fail to make their remixes at all exciting or even really replayable blink.gif
