BuzzJack Music Forum _ Rihanna _ Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded // 3rd album re-release

Posted by: slowdown73 27th April 2008, 12:55 PM

Does anybody know what it will be? will there be a 2cd edition with remixes?

Posted by: Jack 27th April 2008, 01:56 PM

There already was a 2nd CD with remixes tongue.gif

But I know that Take A Bow and a new track with Maroon 5 will be included...

Posted by: sjoerd.. 27th April 2008, 05:40 PM

any cover yet btw? wink.gif

Posted by: Jack 27th April 2008, 08:08 PM

Not that I know of sad.gif

Posted by: Jark 29th April 2008, 04:13 PM

Nothing yet...there's always a chance the cover may just look like the original; same design, different colour scheme.

Posted by: Lukuzz 30th April 2008, 10:55 AM

hope theres more than 2 new songs

Posted by: JonieWonie 30th April 2008, 11:04 AM

this is a waste of time why cant artists just bring out new albums insted of re relesing and re-releses are normally for artists who flop i dont think rihanna has flopped lol silly idea this will flop now!

Posted by: Jark 30th April 2008, 04:19 PM

That's such a stupid generalisation. Anyway I'm sure the re-release is targetted at America, where Rihanna's sales have been really quite underwhelming.

GOOD GIRL GONE BAD - The Relaunch
May 6, 2008
RIHANNA’s RIAA PLATINUM GOOD GIRL GONE BAD ALBUM CELEBRATES ONE-YEAR ON CHARTS – WITH RE-LAUNCH AS DELUXE CD+DVD PACKAGE, ARRIVING IN STORES JUNE 17th

“TAKE A BOW” – BRAND NEW SINGLE WRITTEN BY NE-YO & PRODUCED BY STARGATE – AVAILABLE TODAY ON I-TUNES

DVD will contain 75-minute live concert from Manchester, England in December 2007; 17-minute documentary; and four-minute “Umbrella” home movie created by band

(May 6, 2008 – New York, NY) Multi-platinum MTV VMA, Grammy, and American Music Award winning artist – and CoverGirl spokesperson – Rihanna raises the curtain on the upcoming new CD+DVD U.S. re-release of her worldwide multi-platinum SRP/Def Jam album GOOD GIRL GONE BAD:RELOADED, arriving in stores on June 17th – the week after the album officially marks its historic 52nd week on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Rihanna christens the deluxe new GOOD GIRL GONE BAD:RELOADED two-disc package with a new single, “Take A Bow." The number one most requested song on the internet, is available on I-Tunes today. “Take A Bow” was written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, same team responsible for Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” her #1 smash of 2006; and “Hate That I Love You,” her Top 10 duet with Ne-Yo released late last year. The video for "Take A Bow," directed by Anthony Mandler, went into immediate large rotation on both MTV and VH-1.

The original 12-song CD configuration of GOOD GIRL GONE BAD – source of the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit “Umbrella” (featuring Jay-Z), then “Shut Up and Drive,” “Hate That I Love You” (featuring Ne-Yo), and the current “Don't Stop the Music” – will now be augmented with four bonus tracks: 1) “Take A Bow”; 2) a cover version of Maroon 5’s “If I Never See Your Face Again” (featuring Maroon 5); 3) “Hatin’ On the Club”; and 4) “Disturbia.”

The newly-produced bonus DVD for GOOD GIRL GONE BAD:RELOADED will consist of three components: 1) 75 minutes of live concert footage from a show in Manchester, England last December 2007; 2) a 17-minute documentary feature; and 3) a four-minute home movie of “Umbrella” created by Rihanna’s band.

GOOD GIRL GONE BAD (released June 5, 2007) was Rihanna’s third album release in less than two years. It followed-up 2006’s RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, with the back-to-back #1 hits, “S.O.S.” and “Unfaithful”; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the worldwide smash, “Pon De Replay.” GOOD GIRL GONE BAD boasts the production skills of Timabland, C. “Tricky” Stewart, Stargate, and the team of Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (responsible for “S.O.S.” and “Pon De Replay”), as well as songwriting contributions from Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo, among others.

In 2006, Rihanna created the Believe Foundation which assists and inspires children in need all over the world. Believe gives children a chance to not only survive but a chance to thrive. The foundation provides educational, financial, social and medical support whenever and wherever needed.

Posted by: Wow! 18th May 2008, 01:45 PM

I'm still going to buy it. I wonder if this will chart as it's own album, like when Amy Winehouse released a deluxe edition of 'Back To Black'.

Posted by: sjoerd.. 18th May 2008, 06:46 PM

and even the tracklist is doring!

they just couldn't mind to mix things up again?

they just sticked the new songs at the end of the old tracklist

I hope that album covers not real, the red doesnt look right at all.

Posted by: Joao Filipe 19th May 2008, 04:22 PM

i think the fourth track is the spanglish version of Hate That I Love You with that dude.

hmm duno whether to buy this or not,

yeah i'm not going to bother if there is no DVD. i already own the original and the Take a Bow single. I'll only be buying it for 2 songs, both of which are due to be singles so there isn't really any point. I'll definatly get her live dvd though thumbup.gif

I won't buy because I only like 1 of the new songs. At least it's not that ugly aqua cover sick2.gif

I didn't want to rebuy this since I just bought the original hard copy not too long ago...but I think I will end up buying this eventually. I think I may be the only one that likes the new colors of the cover. laugh.gif

Nope your not i like them better than the orig smile.gif

I like the new colours too but I've seen the new cd in the shops and the booklet is exactly the same, no new pictures or anything, just the credits for the 3 new tracks. I'm really dissapointed. I'm definately not buying it now - shame there wasn't a DVD with it!

Posted by: Johnjo07 2nd June 2008, 02:06 PM

There probably will be a DVD one probably will be about £14.99 but whats the point in that when the live DVD is coming out in 2 weeks? They dont want to make the album to Overshadow the DVD release do they?

I got it because I havent got the first one in original I only had a copy of it and couldnt afford to get it since, so this was perfect for me cool.gif

Posted by: GiveIt2Me 2nd June 2008, 02:34 PM

The CD version is out today, and the CD+DVD version will be out June 16th.

Posted by: The One 3rd June 2008, 03:20 PM

In today's midweeks, the album is back in the Top 15, but I'm not sure whether that is the Reloaded alone, or the Reloaded and the original.

Posted by: The One 5th June 2008, 06:20 PM

The album is at #13 in today's midweeks.

Posted by: GiveIt2Me 22nd June 2008, 05:07 PM

The album has climbed to #10 this week, making a new peak for the Reloaded edition.

What a pop album wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Perhaps my favourite from her in terms of the singles released from it.

Who’d have thought at the start of 2007 Rihanna would get a 2m selling album!

Kinda...not deserved kink.gif I'm not surprised though, Umbrella and Take A Bow do VERY well on streaming (Take A Bow is on lots of playlists I think?)

Posted by: Jordan Lee 3rd May 2020, 04:47 PM

Disturbia always does well in the lead up to Halloween as well.

Posted by: 1402jord 4th November 2022, 05:49 PM

This is #100 in the UK this week!

Likely a streaming boost of her catalogue with Lift Me Ups release.

It’s the first time it’s made the top 100 since 2012! (178th week in total).

It’ll likely spend some more time there once we get R9 too.

Posted by: dannjohn 14th November 2022, 10:20 AM

i'd say this and Loud are probably her most popular GP albums

Posted by: JLJ 3rd February 2023, 06:41 PM

Again this has reentered the albums chart in the UK at #100!

Apple Music have been pushing her entire back catalogue so we may see a climb for this next week and perhaps a bigger one following the Super Bowl show.

179 weeks now for this in the top 100 which is her longest runner on our charts.

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 3rd February 2023, 07:21 PM

That’s amazing. I mean it’s home to not only 8 of her singles but some of her best in Umbrella, Don’t Stop The Music, Take A Bow, Disturbia & Rehab.

Posted by: JLJ 3rd February 2023, 08:46 PM

It’s her only album what had a re-release too!

I may actually give this a whole album listen at some point over the next week to reminisce and remember some of those album tracks what I’ve not heard in years. This was such a golden era though and was the album what transformed her to the permanent A Lister that she is now wub.gif

Agree, the album is home to probably three of my favourite album tracks by her from her career. Breakin Dishes, Question Existing & Good Girl Gone Bad. Cry and Haunted are also great.

Posted by: JLJ 6th February 2023, 06:30 PM

#95 in the UK midweeks.

It’s never showed in the midweeks for some time now so with streaming it should climb throughout the week (it was #100 officially on Friday and wasn’t in the midweeks then so taking this as a sign it’s set to climb) cheer.gif

I wonder if when R9 drops it can become a bit of a staple ala Teenage Dream and The Fame. However with Rihanna she’s such a singles force and her singles power was across different studio albums too. Good Girl Gone Bad does house the most singles of a Rihanna album though and they were pretty much all hits too!

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 6th February 2023, 07:41 PM

I think there’s a chance it’ll at least hang around a while post Superbowl. It houses so many of her well remember hits. If she actually had a greatest hits it’d probably be in the top 100 most weeks.

Posted by: Sour Candy 8th February 2023, 08:34 PM

It also re-entered the US album chart.

Posted by: JLJ 8th February 2023, 09:50 PM

Brilliant news!

iirc I think it’s her second longest runner on the US charts after ANTI. Expecting increases from this globally this week and definitely next week yahoo.gif

Posted by: JLJ 10th February 2023, 06:28 PM

Rises to #83 today in the UK albums chart.

180 weeks inside top 100 now and up from its position of #100 last week.

Top 75 should be happening next week cheer.gif

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 10th February 2023, 06:59 PM

Pretty good good as there was quite a lot of new entries this week.

Did well this week.

I wonder though, will the buzz around fade completely now?

Posted by: JLJ 3rd March 2023, 07:32 PM

#75 this week in the UK!

I think this may still have a few weeks left within the lower top 100 now (hopefully it can become a staple and get to 200 weeks).

Posted by: JLJ 10th March 2023, 08:44 PM

#90 this week in the UK! Hope it can hang on next week but it’s had a nice little return to the top 100 regardless and for a 16 year old album it’s streams are pretty incredible wub.gif

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 14th March 2023, 07:00 AM

Remains at #86 again this week in the UK.

Posted by: Jord 1st September 2023, 04:52 PM

#85 in the UK this week! 190 weeks inside the top 100.

Posted by: Jord 30th September 2023, 04:39 PM

#58 in UK this week (up ten places from last week).

193 weeks inside the top 100 now. Streaming really seems like it’s going up now.

Posted by: Sour Candy 2nd October 2023, 08:19 AM

Is there a particular reason for this (other than there being several smash hits on it)

Posted by: Jord 2nd October 2023, 02:39 PM

I was also wondering if there was a Tik Tok trend or limited Vinyl for it to have risen over the last few weeks.

Could also be streaming playlists as well. It should get to 200 weeks on the top 100 at some point this year now I’d think with it being inside the top 75 and seemingly rising in streams.

Posted by: Jord 20th October 2023, 06:07 PM

Album is at #74 this week!

196 weeks now in the top 100. 200 weeks incoming soon.

Halloween boost next weekend perhaps for Disturbia as well?

Posted by: Jord 17th November 2023, 05:58 PM

#83 in the UK this week.

Posted by: Jord 10th December 2023, 12:13 PM

203 weeks now!

I think it could drop out over Christmas but then return again in January? Seems to be her streaming staple now after the Super Bowl earlier in the year.

Posted by: Jord 3rd January 2024, 12:44 PM

On the UK year end charts of 2023 this was at #91.

First year end appearance since 2012! And it’s set to return to the charts this week (midweek #69) following the Christmas clear out heart.gif

Posted by: Jord 21st January 2024, 03:03 PM

#65 in the UK this week. Another week where it’s climbed!

(206 total weeks on top 100)

Posted by: sammy01 25th January 2024, 12:58 PM

Had no idea this was charting regularly in the UK top 100. Wonder what sales it is on now?

Posted by: JLJ 30th January 2024, 12:45 PM

A new sales update / estimate would be good! Loud and GGGB were always pretty close on sales here in the UK they were both over the 2m mark but since her Super Bowl performance it’s been Good Girl Gone Bad that’s become quite the chart staple since so I imagine this is probably pushed ahead now by around 100k or so. I think it’s last certification was in 2021 when it went 7x platinum here for 2,100,000 sales.

Also this week it’s at #62 in the UK. It’s actually climbed now for the last four weeks. Besides a random week towards the end of 2022 it hadn’t charted since 2012 in the UK until superbowl lead up and now it’s quite the staple (and this is without a studio album as well like when that actually does come it’ll probably stream even better).

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 30th January 2024, 08:14 PM

The way this has stuck around for twelve months since last years Super Bowl is amazing.

Posted by: JLJ 3rd March 2024, 04:36 PM

Albums at #62 on the albums chart this week.

212 weeks now on the chart! It’s still remaining strong on the chart.

Posted by: JLJ 17th March 2024, 01:45 AM

Album is at #62 this week! It had fallen very slightly last week to #65 but rose up again this week.

214 weeks now on the UK top 100.

I wonder how far away some of her other albums are from appearing. Does anyone know if Loud or ANTI are often top 100? I’d hazard a guess that those are the next most streamed. Her discography still does so well and I really think
when we get R9 that we’ll see more of her albums appear here and on charts worldwide too.

Posted by: Rough_edges 3rd May 2024, 06:17 PM

Is Breakin Dishes going viral? Keep seeing it on reels on Facebook

Edit - it's on nearly 500k a day streams so must be

Posted by: Scene 4th May 2024, 10:01 AM

Omg please can it happen in the UK. Should’ve been big!!
