The bubbly Tyla was born and raised in South Africa. Tyla is a truly multi -faceted artist who sings, writes, paints, acts and dances in addition to a multitude of other creative talents. Tyla stands for African youth culture and diversity. She is energetic and connected to the global youth map.
Her latest single Water is going viral globally at the moment
I previously sent her debut single Getting Late to BJSC and it did not qualify #justice4GettingLate
She replied to me on Twitter back in 2021 when I tweeted "Tyla is coming"

Oh I haven't seen it at all shows how catered for people's fyp are. It's such a nice feeling when it's a song you have already loved blow up - I think it's only happened to me with "Escapism" maybe.

I’m glad Water is a top 10 hit hopefully it can keep climbing for her after the Christmas rush , I do wish they picked someone better for the remix as Travis was kind of a meh choice
I’m liking the sound of the new songs especially Truth Or Dare !

It’s an 3 track EP with all 3 songs that will be on the album so I don’t think there particularly pushing any one of these songs yet , there probably still focusing on Water fully taking off and I think there’s potential for it get a new peak on Billboard in the new year once the Christmas rush is over . I think there just doing this so she has more material out there which is actually a smart move .

There’s a handful of songs I could see blowing up at some point as well .

This. She's definitely one to watch. Maybe too premature to say but I'm getting Rihanna vibes from her. She's putting her homeland on the map like Rihanna did, and she's bringing a fresh sound to the scene inspired by her roots like Rihanna did. She also just won a Grammy (first SA artist to do so?) so I can see greater things to come. Maybe even Dua and Ari level domination?

Album debuts at #19 in the UK with sales of 4,303. Around 900 sales shy of a top 10 debut. 'Jump' debuts at #80 and 'ART' at #85. Not bad!
Critics reviews have been really positive. It has a score of https://www.metacritic.com/music/tyla/tyla and https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/tyla-tyla/.

Album got a 2nd week in the top 40! The strategy of pushing 3 tracks at the same time seems to have given it some legs. 'Jump' is up to #62 this week

This is AOTY contender for me. I love it so much. I wish the album ended on Priorities though. To Last is so old and my least favourite single of Tyla, and the Travis Scott remix of Water is lame.
