I still think ''Thinking Of You'' and ''Hot N Cold'' would do well enough if it wasn't for ''I Kissed A Girl''. They're both decent catchy pop songs, probably not #01 huge hits but could've made Top 10/20 I think. Saying that I do like her but 'Thinking Of You', 'Hot N Cold', 'I Kissed A Girl' and possibly 'Self Inflicted' are the only ones which would have commercial success. Funny you mention that, Thinking Of You was a single in the USA before I Kissed A Girl, with a video. And it did amazingly...it didn't chart. |

Personally I would go - 01 I Kissed A Girl 02 Hot N Cold 03 Thinking Of You 04 Self Inflicted / UR So Gay [Re-Release like 'Hometown Glory' ] I'd agree with that, although I'd probably have Thinking Of You fifth after Self Inflicted third and then UR So Gay... Waking Up In Vegas would be a good single too, so six potential hit singles from one album is pretty good! I couldn't care less if she's fake, One Of The Boys is one of the best pop albums I've heard all year |

The live performance really is not that bad.
This is already getting heavy rotation where I live. I do think that 'One Of The Boys' and 'Ur So gay' are the only other hits on her album though. This post has been edited by Tyler: 1st September 2008, 05:57 AM |

I agree with what has been said, the whole fake lesiban thingis ridicolous and she is if anything even more annoying than the hideous Lily Allen. She's the American Lily Allen, annoying, yes, superior, no, they're both sh!te.... o_o I cannot believe two people have just proclaimed that Lily Allen is $h!t. How on earth is Lily Allen bad? Please, do explain. Give me one reason why her music is bad. She's such an undeniable talent. She's been critically acclaimed and has made some undeniable pop tunes. LDN, Smile, GWB, Alfie are all fabulous songs; she's added tons to what is currently quite a dull pop scene. As for Katy Perry, her album is $h!t. I will admit that before anyone. I hate it. Hate hate hate. I am not an obsessive fan whatsoever. Yet I even find myself tired of the arguments people are using against her. I Kissed A Girl and Hot n Cold are both pop TUNES. They are bloody catchy (probably due to the fact that they're both produced by Dr. Luke). Jesus, I'm tired of people saying "It's only popular because it's about kissing girls!" "She's just pretending to be a lesbian!" She is NOT pretending to be a lesbian, nowhere in the song does she say she's a lesbian. She makes it clear that she's straight ("I hope my boyfriend don't mind it"); it's a song about experimenting and doing something different. I love it. But this isn't the reason it's popular; it's popular because the tune is catchy, and it is well produced, plain and simple. It's extremely catchy, for that matter. If the song was about a different subject matter, there's not a doubt in my mind it would still be huge as long as it was still well written. I don't consider her a talent whatsoever, but I'm not going to deny a song is good when it truly is. Sheesh... Funny you mention that, Thinking Of You was a single in the USA before I Kissed A Girl, with a video. And it did amazingly...it didn't chart. So, this is our basis for the quality of all songs now? I mean, Thinking of You is terrible, not gonna deny that, but what a poor way to try and insult an artist's credibility. I'd actually say the opposite; I'd say that there's more of a chance of a song being $h!t if it's top ten than if it's not on the chart at all. |

It's a gem. |

I seriously disagree with that. Mannequin and If You Can Afford Me would both be great singles. I doubt she'll ever match the success of I Kissed A Girl but there are hits on her album and it is still selling decently in the US - still top 20 after near 20 weeks! |

I'm laughing OUT LOUD at all those who predicted Katy to be a one hit wonder.
She's back with a great video and the song is already doing great in the US, and will all around the world for sure |

I've made it quite clear I don't like her, but this song is excellent. A real grower; only her vocals let it down. The production team combo of Dr Luke and Max Martin really is an absolute dream Wonderful video too. She should be thanking her lucky stars she managed to get such a talented team around her!
