Christina Aguilera is lining up electronic-oriented artists such as Sia Furler, Goldfrapp and Ladytron to collaborate with her on her fourth studio album, which she'll continue to work on in 2009.

In a teleconference with reporters, Aguilera acknowledged influence on "You Are What You Are," a moody, ambient remake of her hit "Beautiful" from the upcoming "Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits" and confirmed the Zero 7 associate and solo artist will be working with her on the new album.

"I'm definitely a fan of Sia's," said Aguilera, who previously told Billboard about her desire to pursue a more "futuristic" sound on the album. "I was thrilled she also wanted to work together and, in turn, was a fan of mine."

Aguilera said the two plan to hit the studio in January but are "setting the wheels in motion now ... I'm not exactly sure what we're gonna get when we get in the studio together, but (as) with all great things I'll go in and there's probably magic to be had."

Aguilera said she's been listening to "a lot" of Sia, Goldfrapp and Ladytron during the past year, which impacted not only "You Are What You Are" but also the "Genie in a Bottle" revamp "Genie 2.0" and the two new songs on "Keeps Getting Better": the title track and "Dynamite."

As for other collaborators on the album, which will follow-up 2006's "Back to Basics," Aguilera said there's "nothing I can give away now, but there's always somebody that I'm inspired by to work with. I have to keep under wraps who that would be, just 'cause I always like the element of surprise."

'Keeps Gettin' Better' was essentially a poor rehash of Ladytron tbh. I could tell even before she mentioned being influenced/working with them.

Let's hope her full length forth album is better than the whole GH fiasco. I'm close to giving up on her.

I am a massive Christina fan and I think people liked Stripped becuase there becuase every song was different and personal to her... I loved Back to Basics but it was all very similur and im worried that her next album may be the same ALL electro pop! Her new songs are good but I feel like there is something missing from her old songs (like she is only giving 80%)... Will never stop being a fan of her as an artist thou!

She shouldnt have released a greatest hits this year and just waited until the new album and then release the greatest hits - Then it might not have flopped so much.

I more expected this is Nov tbh..
Christina can def do electro well, and show the new pretenders a thing or two! And Linda Perry producing? It'll rock( or or shock? crackle? laugh.gif). I don't think it'll be as massive as it perhaps deserves but i think people are going to find that with female electro in general...

I think the GH (new tracks/mixes) was more of a warm-up to ease us into her new sound, the campaign seemed half assed really i don't think they were spending a lot of money on promotion so it probably doesn't need to make a lot. The new tracks/versions sounded a bit early demo, like the kind of tracks which further along the line wouldn't have made the cut for a new studio album, but give you an idea where she's headed. Quite enjoyed them, and sure she'll bring the quality come Summer smile.gif
